Bulls SIGN Tre Jones to 3 years/$24M!
so after a little over a 1-hour free agency we’ve got our first Bulls signing and while I think most expected that it would be Josh Giddy who has been the main offseason target and point of discussion for fans no it was in fact Trey Jones who the Bulls signed to a three-year $24 million deal which in my opinion is actually great value for the Bulls i mean I really liked what I saw from Jones at the end of last season before he got injured of course hustled played hard made winning plays stepped up big time for the Bulls when he was inserted into the starting lineup after we saw those injuries to Odumu and Lonzo Ball and of course Giddy who was also out for a few games in the final months of the season what I appreciate about Jones was his ability to play off the ball but also facilitate with the ball in his hands i mean for his size he’s also super surprisingly crafty at getting to the basket and finishing at the rim so yeah I like this signing i like it a lot a very team-friendly deal a tradable contract should they need to move it on down the line i mean I said when the news broke about the Bulls trading Lonzo Ball that it likely meant they were going to push to ressign Jones and it’s why even though I didn’t like the trade I didn’t like the Lonzo trade I didn’t think it was that bad because it meant a better likelihood of keeping a very strong rotational player in Jones on the roster i think my only concern in all this is that it likely means that one of IO and Kobe is going to be on the move because we know the Bulls are likely going to resign Giddy both Io and Kobe are going into the final year of their contract both are going to be getting paid and you can’t have too crowded of a back court like the Bulls have had over the past few seasons and a crowded back court that is also going to cost you a lot of money and based on reporting it sounds like the guy that could be on the move is Iowa as there has been more trade talk surrounding him than Kobe White at this point but we’ll have to wait and see how things play out i’m sure there is going to be a lot of movement in the next 24 hours i’m sure by the time I get this actually uploaded there’s already going to be more news that impacts the Bulls i’ll obviously keep you guys posted as things come about and I’ll also do a more in-depth video of the Bulls free agency moves at the end of each day but anyway let me know your guys’ thoughts on the Bulls this deal anyway the Bulls signing Trey Jones let me know in the comments and as always be sure to subscribe and I will see you in the next one

Solid signing here folks..Pushes the needle back towards the "Bench Mob" era of 2009-2013.. Now just need a Taj Gibson style guy at the 3 or the 4 because that's definitely not Pdub

Backcourt was not too crowded. Many injuries are a real thing in this era's NBA. Who was left for the Bulls at the end of the season? Huerter? It happened to pretty much everyone but OKC. The Bulls need to keep both Ayo and White. That seems obvious to me. Especially if Ayo and Giddy can play a little at SF. I don't think the Bulls are going to sign Jones over Ayo either. Great signing and Bulls aren't moving from Ayo or Coby. Huerter might be gone though. If only we could get rid of Vuch and PWill. Bulls could have got more for Caruso and Ball, however. Front Office still seem like amateurs and you never know what these clowns will do next. Might ship Giddy off for Rui or something stupid. Still going nowhere with coach and management but going to be hell fun to watch. Ayo matches their desire for athletic, faster, bigger players who can play two way more than Coby as well. And has bigger trade value.
I actually don't think Ayo can demand very much. He had a somewhat disappointing second year. He got hurt his third year. I don't think he is going to get a big payday anywhere yet. Also, he is going to have to fight for playing time because Tre looked real nice before he got hurt. The back court like you say is crowded with solid players but not all-stars. With Coby's contact and ability to score, he is going to play a lot.
I honestly would keep Ayo over Coby. Ayo is better defensively and that is important if we plan on being a playoff team

Bulls Front Office really surprising moving Lonzo then keeping Tre Jones though keeping Tre is a great move. I’m really hoping the bag of doughnuts as Draymond Green labeled them that we got for Zac which now includes Noa really pay off more than anyone expected. Would really like to keep Ayo and wish they would trade Vuc as Vuc has basically requested but for our front office this is already a lot more than I expected. Maybe 2025-2026 can be a step up? We can only hope. ✅
