This guy will thrive in JJ’s offense. Doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective. Very athletic and has a great feel for the game. I’d say this is an actual upgrade over Finney Smith. And he’s younger.

Welcome to LA, Jake LaRavia! Super excited about this signing. He can play on both ends and gonna prove a lot of people wrong who thinks he wasn’t a good signing.
Anyone know why he didn’t get more of an opportunity with Memphis and Sacramento? It’s not like he’s a liability defensively, he’s actually well above average on defense. Just don’t understand why he’s only averaging six points

I saw a lot of good things. He's not 1 dimensional, can play inside and out, has great court awareness, can pass, drive, and lob dunk. Also he has good feet and defensive awareness and an upside to get even better. Looks like a great fit for Luka because he's versatile and can throw him anything.
The Lakers need some good defensive players. I don't know how good this kid is but I'm not that worried about the scoring.
DFS was a reliable defender. Now he's gone again…
And the rim protection is trash with the current lineup.

I thought it was a bad move to let DFS go if you are the Lakers and picking up Jake LaRavia but from this it doesn't look so crazy now. He shows some defensive upside and can create shots on his own when he needs to. For even less than half of what DFS is going to get while being almost 10 years younger than DFS, it doesn't look so bad now.
