The Denver Nuggets are COOKING in This Years Free Agency

The Denver Nuggets are cooking in this year’s free agency, getting much needed help from Nicole Yic and bench depth as well. They kick things off with trading Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected 2032 first round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Johnson. An unfortunate end to MPJ’s stint in Denver, dealing with that shouldering during the playoffs where he just couldn’t find any form. But bringing in Cam Johnson who will fit perfectly next to Nicole Joic. He doesn’t need the ball in his hands to have an impact. the perfect floor spacer for Joic as well and can guard on the other end. Plus, giving up that 2030 pick doesn’t mean much when you have one of, if not the best player in the world on your team in his or close to his peak. You have to capitalize on what you have right now. And that’s getting back in that championship window, which I think the Denver Nuggets have done with these signings and trades. And doing that, they brought back Bruce Brown Jr. as well on a one-year contract, a fan favorite from that championship season, adding much more depth to their bench. You just know what you’re going to get from him. He he always brings that hustle. And one thing they desperately needed was a backup center. So, they went ahead and traded a player that wasn’t in their rotation last season, Dario Saric, to the Sacramento Kings for Yonas Valentunis. And I don’t even think Nicole Jük would be the happiest player about this trade. I think that would be DeAndre Jordan because now he no longer has to play those backup minutes. And if that wasn’t enough, they also signed Tim Hardaway Jr. to a oneyear deal, adding more shooting to the team, especially off the bench, which they needed, bringing in some 3 and D clearly going for win now with these one-year contracts as well, or just to see how the team goes and then go from there. But they aren’t the only ones cooking in this year’s free agency. The Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks are also going well. The Rockets obviously made the trade for KD, ressigned Fred Vanve, contract extended, Jabari Smith Jr., also did that for Steven Adams and Emma Udoka. Signed Dorian Finny Smith and signed Clint Capella. They did lose obviously Dylan Brooks and Jaylen Green for the trade for KD, but I think they’ve done pretty well here in the free agency to make up for that. The Hawks, they traded for Chris Sporzingis, signed and trade for Nquil Alexander Walker, signed Luke Kennard, and drafted Asa Newule at 23, a player they apparently wanted at pick 13, all while giving up not a lot. So, let me know who you think is winning in this free agency so far.

  1. As a Lithuanian I’m very happy for JV coming to Denver! We are small country of 3 million people, but you can add us all as Nuggets fans!

  2. I hope the best for those guys because “Nuggets fans” will turn on you in the blink of an eye.

  3. Man, thank god we are finally making some moves, good ones at that. The depth was a major issue last year, but its finally good now. All we need is Jamal to be the best version of himself, and we have a shot. Hyped for next year.

  4. In less than 24 hours the Nuggets new FO got off MPJ's terrible contract, got an offensive and defensive upgrade in CJ, got out from under both aprons, freed up a ton of money, added critical flexibility, added Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. on minimum contracts, got off of Dario Saric's laughably bad contract and added Valanciunus as the first legit backup for Jokic in years. All the while transforming the roster and creating a deep and talented bench. And they still have a mid level exception to use on another player. This is like Michael Corleone 'taking care of all family business' in a single day.

  5. How much money does denver still have ti work with after these signings??? I was hoping they could pick up a solid versatile point of attack defender.

  6. we already know porzingis will just be injured anyways so immaterial impact. Nuggets on fire though

  7. Nuggs clearly have a vision what they needed and went out and got it immediately. It's gonna be fun to see how it all works out.

  8. Mavs and Denver looks scary 👀 both of their main roster and bench are really solid rn.

  9. From my understanding I think they can still splash some money to sign a good player like liliard
