Gershan Yabaelli signs with the New York Knicks. 2 years, $12 million essentially for the full MLE. And I’m just really puzzled. I mean, the Sixers could have offered him the full MLE. And it’s starting to feel like they didn’t even offer him anything at all because it’s hard for me to see Yaboo choosing the Knicks. The Sixers gave him the opportunity after he was out of the league for 6 years. He liked playing here in Philly. He has a much more clearly defined role for next season. The Sixers still don’t have a starting power forward next to Joel Embiid who can barely jump. And Yabu could have slid right in and been the four for this team. So, I’m really confused. It sucks. And now I guess the Sixer fans are going to have to root against Gershon Yabiselli. But the Sixers do sign Trendan Watford, a nice young 24y old depth piece. He played with the Nets last year, 44 games, 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists. brings some defensive versatility, more of an interior big, but really a connective passer. He ranked in the 92nd percentile last year, and I do think this will help the Sixers depth, but I still think they need a starting power forward. They have the exceptions to use. We’ll see when they resign Grimes how much that’ll be. But the Sixers need to have something cooking up their sleeve because you can’t go into next season without a starting power forward. The Sixers still need rebounding. that constantly becomes one of their biggest issues in the playoffs.

So let me get this straight, everybody complained last year about the Sixers needing to be more athletic and younger and you sign a young 24 year wing who essentially does everything Yabu does. Who’s to say they won’t take the MLE to use to get another big . Just chile and see what happens. Damn!

PG is a Power Forward at this stage in his career. He can't get by these young small forwards anymore. Sixers are going to need to force mismatches or watch an offense where PG is standing in the corner for 3/4 of his time on the court. (I'm a Knicks fan)
We are going to be trash watch..our season is coming down to Jojo being able to play everyday at high level if he cannot worse then last year..morey dies not know wtf he is doing. You can just tell. I like Yabu but he was slow and not athletic, nurse played him at center way too much, He’s a back up PF at best, and was getting cooked on the defensive side of the ball, I liked his spark sometimes but I think Watford will be better for us an instant fan favorite!!
