Ian Begley reacts to Knicks signing Guerschon Yabusele and shares other moves New York could make
On the second day of free agency
the Knicks. Landing one of the best big men available on
the market in Gershon Gabba. Celie Boselli had a strong
season in Philadelphia, he ended up choosing between the
nuggets and the Knicks and the Knicks. Getting him, on a
two year, 12 million dollar deal player. Option second year,
where that leaves them cap wisest? They still have the veterans, minimum exception
available, but they cannot add more salary in a
significant way right now. And Yes, they make a trade because
they are hard caps at the second apron. So Nick’s
could still be making more
moves, but any big move would have to be
via trade but and yeah, Boselli. They get a very
talented big men. A guy who did a lot of different things
for the Sixers last year. Had a big game against the Knicks
and probably means that pressures are qu is
headed elsewhere. I would assume that he takes pressure to
his roster spot but between this and the expected
Jordan Clarkson signing. Nick’s NG to early moves here.
And again, anything beyond this would be a veteran’s minimum
signing, or it would be via trade.

Role player version of Julius Randle
Great pickup
Knicks shopping at walmart
Reminds me of Zebo. Just faster. The guy has a motor.
Well, the Knicks are hard capped at the second apron again with 3 roster spots still needed to be eventually filled and only $3,532,502 away from the hard cap. They could sign a rookie to a minimum ($1,272,870) and Kevin McCullar to a minimum ($2,048,494) which would take them to only $211,138 below the hard cap and then wait until very late March to sign their 15th guy. Or they will have to do a salary cutting trade to make more room below the hard cap. Precious is gone. So is Payne, Shamet, and Wright.
Yabusele appears to be an upgrade over Precious but his stats from last season are probably inflated because Philly was playing so much without Embiid and Paul George, etc. Yabusele averaged 27 minutes per game last year which wasn't the plan for him at the start of the season. Jordan Clarkson is fine, I guess. You want someone that can give you points off the bench and he'll do that. The problem with Clarkson is that when you boil it down, he's just an inefficient chucker that has been playing on a garbage team for the last five years so it's hard to tell if he is actually a winning type of player or just a guy with inflated stats. Still though, he's an apparent upgrade over Landry Shamet. The Knicks seem to have gotten better around the edges.
What are they looking at with roster spots 13 and 14? Kevin McCullar who is basically a rookie and the kid from France they just drafted or maybe James Nnaji? Whatever floats your boat but is a roster with Tyler Kolek, Ariel Hukporti, James Nnaji, Pacome Dadiet and Kevin McCullar taking up 5 of the 14 spots really a wise move? Lots of inexperience and unknows with that group and the Knicks are trying to win a Championship. What happens if the relative luck the Knicks had with injuries last year suddenly turns the other way. Things have a way of balancing out over time. Pickings could be slim when the new coach gazes down that bench. All in all, Leon Rose has probably done the best that he could do. Now he'll extend Bridges, and the Knicks will enter the second apron next year.
One name only comes to mind – LARRY JOHNSON
Nice!!
Happy for Yabu. Would have wanted him to be a Spur
Great Pickup
Please New York Knicks go sign BOL BOL low risk high reward
KAT for Giannis 💪🏾🗽🏀
This bench is automatically better than last season with these two signings.
Between Yabu and Clarkson, the Knicks filled their needs for a backup C and a scoring backup guard. Goodbye Precious, Cameron, Landry. I'll be really, really surprised if GM Rose make a big move unless it involves KAT.
the dude is nice. i think he's gonna be a fan favorite.
We not even at Sam’s Club 🤦🏽♂️
YAWN 🥱
Power forward Yabby.
Awesome pickup
All I can say it’s about time the next get a center. I’ve been waiting for a long time. It’s about time we all been waiting for this. I’ve been asking myself when they’re gonna get it back up. When are you gonna get a back up center and finally, they got one it’s about time I like this pic. They need a center just in case if something happens to Mr. Robinson.
Precious played awesome against the Pacers in last season's playoff loss such a shame that he wasn't given an opportunity this year after the last year's performance.. I really liked Tips BUT sometimes I just don't know what he's thinking
