The Bulls Have Traded Lonzo Ball for Isaac Okoro

and there it is we have the first trade coming from the Chicago Bulls where the Bulls are actually going to be trading Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Isaac Aoro and I’ll be honest this one is tough for me because Lonzo is one of those guys who I knew was likely on the trading block given his long-term fit with this team and at his age and with his injury history but when healthy a very very impactful player who has incredible ID and in my view would have been great as a mentor for some of these younger guys and let’s be real the Bulls need his defense the Bulls are depleted when it comes to strong defensive players and also it’s just sad to see him go after everything he went through during his time with the Bulls coming back and still being a serviceable player when the Bulls signed him to that contract extension on a very team-friendly deal two years $10 million each year with a team option on the second year you knew that was going to be a tradable contract and now here we have it the Bulls are trading Lonzo for Isaac Aoro this just broke as I’m recording this so we don’t know if any additional pieces are being added to it but knowing this front office highly doubtful they’re also getting any draft capital in return for this deal i’m sure some Bulls fans are going to lose their minds that picks weren’t added to this which let’s be real very unlikely you’re going to get draft capital for Lonzo Ball given his injury history and while I don’t think Isaac Aoro is going to move the needle much for the Bulls he does fit the mold of what AK is bringing to this roster young players with experience 24 years old former number five overall pick was actually drafted right after Patrick Williams a Cororo is actually a solid defender and has improved his shooting over the last couple of seasons to be considered I guess you could say enough of a 3 and D wing but yeah I mean outside of that there really isn’t anything to get excited about this trade you’re talking about a player who is who he is like despite his age he’s not suddenly going to be a player that breaks out into an all-star and if anything his role has in fact reduced over time with the Cavs as they’ve gotten better as a team uh from a contractual perspective too somewhat worse actually because while he’s making around the same as Lonzo I believe Aoro is at $1 million uh he has two more years fully guaranteed on his deal whereas Lonzo was on a team option for that second year effectively making it a one-year deal uh this is a good pickup for the Cavs who need an added veteran player uh to help their young team and especially a defensive-minded player in the back court but yeah I mean for the Bulls I’m not that excited about this trade it’s an okay trade i would have preferred the deal that evidently was on the table last year where the Bulls had an first round pick in exchange for taking on a bad contract everyone assumes that it was Marcus Smart likely probably the deal but it is what it is now here we are and the Bulls have moved on from Lonzo Ball that era with the Bulls has finally ended and now they’ve got Isaac it’ll be interesting to see what additional dominoes happen after this it’s crazy that Nicolola is still on this team after all these years uh a player that probably not going to be around much longer for the Bulls but who knows a lot of people are speculating that there just really isn’t a market for Vuch and he’s probably going to have to play the final year of his deal but anyway uh initial reactions uh gut reactions really i’ll probably have a little more in-depth video on Isaac Aoro how he fits in with the system uh but wanted to get my initial reaction out to you guys so let me know what you guys think in the comments as always be sure to subscribe see you guys in the next one

  1. Horrible trade you take on a two year contract contract for a player that doesn’t move the needle. If the bulls were going to trade Lonzo it should have been last year. What are the bulls thinking! SMH

  2. I actually like this trade. The Bulls aren’t losing anything and we’re getting a more reliable player. This chapter is finally closed. I was opposed to him playing in Chicago for this very reason and how many games has Lonzo played in Chicago in how many years? What about NOLA and Los Angeles? Nothing against him personally but some of us were worried about this the moment we signed him.

  3. The bulls are masters at nothing trades at this point lol how many times are we gonna pass up on a deal just to take a much worse one later, im tired of this organization

  4. Injury prone but dam when he had a healthy run he was dropping a good 10 a night plus a good amount of assist but dammm who tf we get???? Okoroo? Bro is a good bench player at best

  5. The Bulls management have no idea of what they are doing. What they needed the most was a new head coach!

  6. Not surprised by this trade. The Bulls decisions since Jordan, Pippen and D- Rose are very questionable. I also give the Bulls a D- with their draft picks this year. they could have had Danny Wolf and Coleman Hawkins. Players that could contribute right away, instead of projects.

  7. Forgot to add, It’s frustrating when a team with such a rich legacy seems stuck in mediocrity, and the front office doesn't show urgency or a clear plan to break out of it. Running it back with the same core year after year, despite middling results, feels like they’re content being just good enough to stay relevant but not serious about contending.

  8. What was the point in signing him for 10mil 🤡 Bulls need to get rid of GM, head coach and the owner, stop going to the games, till they can get a competent owner, GM, head coach.

  9. The bulls could’ve at least got a 2nd or two when he’s healthy him and isaac are no where close to each other as players

  10. They gave him a ton of cash and he became a liability instead of an asset… it’s business and he was an injury anchor and the bulls are off the hook for that latest ZO contract.

  11. dude i feel like this is showing the front office has lost faith in patrick williams

  12. If zo is healthy they are making it to the eastern conference finals. When he first came we were the top team in the east for a very long time and I mean whooping teams blowouts. I think ppl devalue you when you’re not doing good. I watched okoro play for some time now and dude is not good at all. The Cavs if Lonzo is healthy robbed us. And even if injured we still could’ve gotten someone better than okoro would’ve preferred draft capital

  13. Smfh got robbed down to they mf socks😂🤦🏿‍♂️I’m so sick of the NBA and NFL teams I chose when I was a kid letting me down every down year🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️#CowboysNation😂

  14. Low risk, low value trade, doesn’t open up any roster spots, shame Lonzo couldn’t stay healthy and play for the Bulls. At least he joins the Cavs and with Indy probably out of serious playoff contention maybe Lonzo can play an impactful playoff role if he stays healthy. Okoro is someone that fell out of favor in Cleveland. Maybe a fresh start with the Bulls will help? Hope Lonzo can stay healthy and wish him the best.

  15. I like the trade… lonzo is never available… you were not getting a 1st round pick for him lmfao

  16. I think okoro is a good piece for the roster, a defensive guy who can cover buzelis or white is a good piece

  17. Great trade for the bulls. Okoro has the same output as the present version of Lonzo, and he's cheaper. Players that are more interested in podcasting like Paul George and now Lonzo Ball, should be avoided…

  18. Weren’t Memphis Grizzlies offering a 1st round pick in this draft for him at the trade deadline? Or was that for Vooch.

  19. Hate to see hom go? Ha!! Dude was a waste of money. Dude was injured for years eating up cap space. Was one of the worst deals they've done in years.
