let’s grade the last five Sacramento Kings first round picks This one’s going to be tough for Kings fans to look down memory lane So we’ll start off with Devin Carter who I loved coming out of Providence with the 13th pick in the 2024 draft He missed half of his rookie season with a shoulder injury So I’m just going to put it at a C right now although he wasn’t great when he came back from that injury Shot sub 40% from the field and sub 30% from three They took Keegan Murray with the fourth overall pick in the 2022 draft I’m going to give this a B minus At the time I thought they should have taken Jaden Ivy especially after trading somebody we’ll get to in a little bit But Keegan Murray has been a fine three-point shooter in this league but it feels like he’s peaked in his rookie year so far With the ninth overall pick in the 2021 draft they selected DaVon Mitchell out of Balor For them specifically I’m giving it a C minus Mitchell was a fine defensive point guard for the Sacramento Kings although they needed bigs or wings at the time And who knows maybe if they took a wing or a big they wouldn’t have traded away this guy right here And that was a home run selection with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 draft They selected Tyrese Hallebertton out of Iowa State We all know that they had him and Fox and now they have neither one of those guys and they traded Hallebertton to Indiana at that 2022 trade deadline It’s an A+ of a pick Although that trade has not aged the best And then something that hasn’t aged the best Marvin Bagley second overall in the 2018 draft One of the worst draft picks over the last 10 years because a player that went right after Marvin Baggley Luca Donic So I have to give this an F Let me know what team you guys would like to see me do this with

Keegan had to step away from the 3 spot because of derozen. Keegan is a beast and a 2 way player has not peaked even close
To be fair, Keegan is a really solid defensive player, which is a surprise. His shooting dip is concerning but heâs never been a bad shooter, so itâs hopefully just a slump. B+

Iâm sorry I canât give A+ to Tyrese specifically for the kings because they traded his ass away and havenât been able to do shit since theyâre just the new Chicago Bulls with DeMar and Zach. In general heâs an A+ pick but not when you trade home without even giving it a chance.
