This is an Absolute HEIST for the Raptors…

This is an absolute heist for the Toronto Raptors as a bombshell just dropped from Sham’s Trannia revealing that Yaka Purle has been extended by this Toronto Raptors team. And while certainly Yaka Purle did get paid, do not get me wrong, the structure of this contract is very advantageous to this Toronto Raptors group and allows this front office, whoever’s going to be the president of basketball operations along with Bobby Webster, to have some flexibility moving forward, especially in the next couple years. So, we’re going to break down what’s going on with this Yakutal contract extension, why it’s so good for this Toronto Raptors team and why I’m more bullish on this Raptor squad than I was just 48 hours ago. So, lots of stuff to break down in this vid. But folks, I want I want to thank you guys all again. We got to that 38,500 subscriber mark, but of course, the big goal is 40K. And, you know, this number hasn’t changed because I’ve recorded these videos back to back to back mid recording in each big news dropped uh following uh you know, mid-recording. So, we had the Mamu news as well as this Yakapurle extension. So, let’s jump straight into it because this is some exciting stuff for this Toronto Raptors team. As Sham Shirania just revealed, the Toronto Raptor center Yaka Purle has agreed to a 4-year $104 million extension with the franchise through 292030 season. Sources tell ESPN Yakapurle will pick up his 26 27 year player option at 19.5 million and add three additional years to his deal. So this is looking very very good. Shams also went on to say that his agents discuss several frameworks for a deal such as an opt out and extend but the sides land on an opt in and extend structure giving flexibility to the Toronto Raptors in the next two seasons. And this is phenomenal. This is exactly what you’re looking for in a Yaka Purle extension. We heard some news, some rumblings that this deal could be something that’s around the the length of about $30 million per year annually. That’s stuff that we hear coming into it. And I looked at that and it’s like, okay, that’s solid value for Yaka Purle given the current, you know, need for centers, desire for centers all across the NBA. Even uh, you know, Miles Turner and stuff, players in that caliber of center are getting around that pay range. But Yaka Purtole’s structure now and you know Turner’s contract was under what everyone was expecting you know people to be receiving out there this summer but all the contracts have been a bit undermarket this summer. So Yaka Purle’s extension expectations may have dwindled a little bit and you know that’s what ended up being the case as uh you know Blake Murphy essentially puts it out the yearbyear for Yaka Purle. So 19.5 right now for this season and next and then it goes 26 28 and $30 million. So we get Yakapurle under $20 million for the next two seasons and then we have Big Yak locked in for the multiple seasons following that and the cap should rise. Things should change as we know the salary cap just five seasons ago, right? The deals that were being giving out at that point are looking like heists here now because the money goes up, especially with all these Amazon streaming deals and and things like that. So, this is a salary structure that I am very, very comfortable with for this Raptors group. Even though it is definitely a lot of money being thrown away, Yaka Purle, I’ve seen some people be like, “Oh my god, he’s making more money than Miles Turner or whatever.” But the actual distribution of the money is uh very advantageous to the Toronto Raptors and how it’s structured and it’s balanced out really, really well. So, first thing I can say, shout out to Bobby Webster. Shout out to the negotiating team without Messiah Jerry out here in the mix, able to get a very reasonable, solid contract done throughout all the turmoil of all the different moves and signings and stuff or the the moves the the move the Raptors made in getting rid of Messiah Jerry. With all that turmoil going on, they were able to execute on the two biggest needs in this offseason, extending Big Yak and then also figuring out what’s going on at the backup center position. Now, we’ll see what happens in regards to an RJ Barrett extension. I’ve been pretty adamant. I’d love to see RJ Barrett on this team long term, trying to start a movement, more people that actually value RJ Barrett for the long run for this Raptors team. But given the expectations, given the uh even recent reports following the Messiah Jerry firing that RJ Barrett is still going to be brought up in trade talks and trade discussions and stuff. So, we’ll see how things play out there. But that’s the opposite end of what an extension be looking like. But that’s one and backup center. So, and if you didn’t know, check out the most recent video. The Raptors did also sign, you know, Sandro Mamu Kellish Mamu Skellis Villi to, you know, a two-year $2.5 million per year annually, roughly around $2 million per year for Sandro. So, he’s a three-point shooting big man. Space the floor. And this is our new complimentary front court, which works out really, really well because Big Yak averaging 15 points per game, 10 rebounds, three assists, one block per night, one steal per game. You know, he did take a three at the end of last season, so maybe we’ll have two floor spacing Big Ben. We’ll see what actually ends up going on the go here now at this point at uh for Yaka Purle’s development there. But even if the three-point shot, which is a dream for me at this point, but even if that doesn’t come into its own, Yakapurle is still one of the most elite, you know, under the rim finishers at the five position across the NBA. He’s a phenomenal positional defender and you see it out there on the court in terms of, you know, wins and losses. When Yakapur is playing this team, even during the past couple seasons when we have been brutal, when Yakapur’s on the court, there’s always a chance to win, just given the impact that he provides, especially on the defensive end and being a target with a high IQ out there in the front court. And he said, you know, learning from the Spurs where they didn’t have a lot of floor spacing either. He figured out ways to get into open space underneath the back basket, getting into that sort of dunker spot and be able to catch the ball high, finish high, finish around people, and do things out there on that end. And then on top of it, you also have Sandro now who’s going to be able to space the floor and provide a different dimension out there at the center position for this team. And then of course your smaller ball fives like uh CMBB that’s going to come in our number nine overall pick. Uh you know, we have Jonathan Bobo who’s played some center at times, you know, spot minutes matchup dependent. The Raptors front court rotation now is in a very healthy spot. And then on top of it, you have uh Olar Shamsh, who is going to be in the development wings for this team. That of course is not going to be, you know, imminently a guy that needs to be inserted into the rotation, but definitely a player that the Raptors should be looking at in terms of his development and being a center for the future. So, you know, Yakapurle getting this contract here now makes sense in terms of the timing of everything, but it does lead to some considerations about what’s going to go on with uh, you know, the future of this Toronto Raptor roster and the people that we actually have on this team because essentially the Toronto Raptors right now have a lot of money tied up in different players out there on the roster. Like, if we take a look at how things are looking here, we have Scotty Barnes big contract kicking in this season. Brandon Ingram, of course, signed his extension after getting traded to the Toronto Raptors. You have Emanuel quickly locked in till 2029 as well. RJ Barrett on multiple years of this contract. And basically, if we end up keeping Jame Battle out here on the roster, we picked up his partially guaranteed contract, which we better do given the value of that contract there. It’s um apparently puts us close, you know, assuming there’s no rosters or minimum deals cut. It puts us right above the luxury tax which a team given the position we’re in right now and uh how how money is distributed it doesn’t make sense for us to really cross that luxury tax threshold here now at this point. So ownership we know they’re cheap enough to fire besai Jerry they’re going to not want to get into the luxury tax you know for this upcoming season unless we’re you know in championship contention. So basically the Toronto Raptors are going to have to make some more moves. There is some discussion about how okay at the end of the season that’s when it’s all judged whether or not you’re a luxury tax team or not. So, you know, at the trade deadline these moves could could come. But, you know, given all the rumors, all the smoke, whether it be the big fish stuff we heard at the beginning of the summer, that has really dialed down since Messiah jury is part of ways to the organization because he was in the final year of his contract. He was getting pushed out there on that front. But regardless of that, even following the Messiah Jerry following firing, we hear those updates about IQ being shopped, RJ Barrett being shopped, these types of guys, I would not be surprised, especially a new president of basketball operations coming in if there are more trades, more moves to give us more financial flexibility over the course of the summer. So, we’ll see how the those things play out, but definitely a big big win, a great day for the Toronto Raptors and bringing in Sandro as well as extending Yakob. So, great stuff there. Let me know what you guys think about this in the comment section down below. You guys make this far. Subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already. Anyways, I’m signing out.

The Toronto Raptors have signed Jakob Poeltl to a multi-year contract extension in a deal that is perfect for Toronto given the flexibility it adds to their cap. Ben Rogers breaks down the signing and what it means for the team.

  1. What a overpaid for Yak lol this guy is not even better then Ayton which we could of got him for even cheaper

  2. Giovanni, You swore up in down without a shadow of a doubt he would get 38m. I kept that receipt! This way cheaper!

  3. Yak is absolutely robbing the raptors at this point man. Why are we constantly overpaying these players that aren’t even stars. Like who are we actually bidding against to warrant such and egregious overpay. We need to start telling these players to go test the market and come back to us when other teams present an offer. If they find a better offer great for them, Ify they don’t then we can sign them to a FAIR deal.

I have nothing for Yak and congrats to him, but wtf are the raps front office doing man. Where paying a bloody aging centre close to 30mil a year.

  4. According to Jake Fisher, the 4th year of Jakob's extension is only 5 million guaranteed, so if you want to get technical, it's a 4-year 79 million dollar extension

  5. How could they not pickup myles Turner and just trade Jake, surely Lakers would give somethinf

  6. @benrogers the perfect line up to tank this year for a top 3 pick. jakob poeltl, scottie barnes, Mogbo, CMB and jamal shead. non shooting, non spacing super tanking line up. the secret recipe

  7. This is insane cope, poetl absolutely fleeced y'all, 26 mill a year for a decent center who keeps on getting dunked on is insanity

  8. It's not a horrible contract. Masai would have given him $35M per and crippled our future like he did with the IQ and Barnes contracts. At least Bobby can negotiate.

  9. Shout out to Yak! Makes you wonder why FVV and Siakam couldn’t think about the salary cap of the team.

Even SGA took less money to keep OKC together.

  10. With the SM free agent signing and extending Poetl, the draft is starting to make some sense. If they decide not to make any trades to start the season, I'm willing to see what kind of team Webster has given Darko to work with.

  11. Great news !! The Raptors finally got through the heir heads they need true centres to compete in the NBA. To compete against other teams bigs. The signing of Sandro Mam….. Seems to be a big under the radar signing. I watched the hi-lites on this guy and he can actually shoot 3's. Great add to the team. I think Darko will do wonders with this team.

  12. I love the way our team is structured. I want to see the way this team can play halfway healthy. I think that we are elite

  13. Poetl is not the starting center of a championship team. So this signing is trash. Trade his assssss

  14. I’ve always liked Poeltl. And it looks like the Raptors only had him in the Kawhi deal out of necessity. It’s amazing they brought him back and amazing he’s signed long term. He’s a winner.

  15. How come everything is a heist? 2nd round pick no one has ever heard of, heist. Over pay your entire fucking team, heist. Talking about giannis trades that will never happen, heist. You just seem like some kid doing coke in your bedroom with a webcam. lol 😅

  16. This is how dumb some Raptors fans can be – the center position is to bang, rim protect and grab rebounds but (since Curry arrived in the league) the monkee fans think that if the center shoots 3's, and that's it, he is good! Nobody was running to this scrap of the sh!t pile but here in Rap-land, they salivating over a guy that will average 6 pts a game as a back-up but give up 15 because he isn't near the rim protecting it or rebounding the ball – instead he's standing where the guards are because he ain't BIG at all, just tall. IF he plays like he did in 2022-23 pulling down almost 7 boards in 23 steady minutes, averaging double digit scoring – fine he is a good little catch BUT if he is sitting at the 3 line like Brook Lopez 90% of the game like a small soft-cone at Dairy Queen, he will suck for the team.
