The Spurs Still Have TWO OPEN ROSTER SPOTS!
Spurs fans, we have two more spots open on our roster. Who’s going to get them? What is up, San Antonio Spurs fans? Welcome to TSR Sports. A crazy week so far in the NBA. Could it get crazier for our Spurs? We do have the two open spots. I found an article from Oops Hype about the current available players. They have them ranked by position. I thought we’ll dig into that. But I got to jump into the salary cap first. And while of course in doing so any players that you want on this list or on this thumbnail that the Spurs could reasonably afford because we do have to acknowledge the salary cap right now Spurs fans. We have 10 active players under contract and that makes up 143 million. We have our two draft picks Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant. That makes up 17 million. Then we have Luke Cornet’s contract that’ll be on the books which is we’re just going to round up to 10 million. I’m reading two ways that they do not go against the cap. So Riley, Minick, Harrison, Ingram, don’t have to worry about that. With everybody here, that total is 170 million. That’s over the salary cap. Salary cap is, was it 155? Now I’m drawing a blank. Shoot. Should have wrote it down. The lottery tax amount is 188. So that gives us, we’ll just say about 15 million to spend on our two active roster spots. I am not an expert with the non MLE and Emily stuff. I freely admit that. That’s the mid-level exception. Some of you know it pretty darn well. And we still have some room to get some guys. No way I see we’re going over the luxury tax unless we’re competing for a title. So there’s our there’s our roster. If you’re wondering TSR, how are we over the salary cap with this roster? Well, there you go. You got Dearron Fox at 37, Devin at 27, Harrison Bard at 19, and Kelvin at 17. 37 and 27 is 64, 19 is 83, and 17 is 100. Boom. 100 gone already. All right, let’s without further ado, let’s go ahead and get into the available players. I start off with the power forward list, which is really lean. Not a lot out there. Chris Bush from Toronto, mobile big man who hits some threes and blocks some shots. Decent lob target, but sometimes tries to do too much on offense. I guess I’d rather somebody tries to do too much that doesn’t do anything. His salary last year was about 10.8 million. So, unless he took a pay cut, is this a player you want? I don’t see us getting him. All right. I don’t think he’s coming back. But Trey Lyles, Trey Lyles, who was Oh my gosh. Got he was picked on in this channel. I can’t tell you how live how many live streams I saw where it was Trey Trash can Trey Lyles or Trey Trash Lyles or Trash Lyles. Hey, he’s still in the NBA. Made eight million last year. Not getting him. No. All right. So, because some of you are saying, “Let’s go get Bo.” He’s going to be available or he is available at this moment. And his salary last year was 2.4 million, which I believe is pretty close to the league minimum. If it’s not the league minimum, the Spurs can afford him. He’s a sevenfooter. Apparently, he’s just as good as Wemby. It’s not me saying that. If you know, you know. Maybe not just as good as Wemmy. Same player. Same player. I have not heard good things about his attitude. If the Spurs were bring him to bring him if they were to interview him first and say, “Hey, we think we can straighten this guy out.” Or he has straightened himself out because some players start to might look back at their career or look at their career in the moment go, “You know what? I’m making some mistakes here. I’m burning some bridges. I need to make things right so I can keep playing for another three, five plus years, whatever it may be, a decade.” They talk to him, they got a good vibe from him, and he’s willing to put in the work, then this is a maybe. It would bring some size in, but I very very not much likely. And I think that’s actually all. Yeah, that’s get the Lakota. That’s all I have for the power forwards. And some of these power forwards and center spots are kind of half a dozen one, six in the other. All right. The guy in the thumbnail because I know some of you wanted him. DeAndre bought up by the Portland Trailblazers. A huge talent, but one with issues surrounding his focus level from game to game. And there’s a viral thing going around where he’s playing against is when he’s on the Suns. He’s out in there in defense kind of standing in the paint then he kind of thinks about coming out then he steps back thinks about he’s just kind of just standing there standing there. I haven’t seen a lot of film on a guy. Is that the big wrap with him that a lot of times he’s just standing around not putting the effort in because that ain’t going to fly. That ain’t going to fly with me. That going to fly with the team. That’s not spursing. There’s other concerns with him as well. This would have to be a situation where two things would have to happen. They bring him in. They have to talk about what do you want to do? What do you want to do with your life? He says, ‘I want to play for the Spurs. Now, you want to play for the Spurs, I’m going to take a prove it a contract. Not 34 million, not 24 million, not 14 million. League freaking minimum. If you want to play for us, prove prove it. Take the league minimum. That’s the only way I’m taking I would want the Andrean on this team. Not gonna happen, but that would be that would be prerequisite. Hey, you just got you just got paid from Portland. All right, Morris Vagner from Orlando. I’m all signs look like he’s going to resign worth Orlando. So, he’s here’s he for now, but he’ll be he’ll be gone tomorrow. Al Horford, if we want to go really want to go aging vets, Al would be the choice. I believe he’s staying in Boston, especially now they lost Luke Cornett. They’re probably gonna resign with the Celtics. All right, Precious Actua. You know, I’m intrigued a little bit. Mobile big man who can defend, switches well, and who was very solid rim protector, more effective on defense than on offense, but can finish pretty well around the rim. And last season, he made $6 million. Is that a player we if he wants six again, guys? Is that something that fits? If it’s cal salary capwise, there are some exceptions old TSR doesn’t know about that would stop us from signing a player like this. Could we get them for four or five? Maybe not. All right, we got some more players. I’m just going to kind of just do a drive by on because there’s this list of centers was 20 long, but I wanted to stop at some familiar faces. All around me are familiar faces. DeAndre Jordan as a third center made 3.3 million last year. Got to expect three million or less this year. Would you take DeAndre Jordan as a an emergency situation? Limited playing time type center. What I don’t want to see Spurs fans is yes. I I like the L Cornet signing. We got Wemley, but if one of them goes down, who’s our backup big? We should have three three guys on the team. And right now, we have the two. I’d be okay with this. Not thrilled, but for closely league minimum, sure. Moamba, tell me when will you be mine? Tell me. If you get that song reference, kudos to you. Made 2.6 million last year. Have not good heard good things about his work ethic. Again, interview situation league minimum maybe, but this is a probably not. And last but not least, because I I saw him on here. the Bassinator himself, Charles Bassie. Which brings us to our guy, Spurs fans. Charles Bassie and Bismak Biombo rocking a hard place. I like Charles. Can’t stay healthy. I see the Spurs moving on from him. Bismak Biombo as an emergency center backup. Emergency backup center. If he’s going to take around the league minimum again, sure. He’s also a vet. One of the few guys that’ll be north of 30 on the roster. It’s Harrison Barnes. is what 33. I think Hornet is 30 or turns 30 this season and that’s it. So, bring in another vet, a vet that did an admirable job all things considered last year on on a budget salary. Sure. We have two roster spots. Bring in another big is roster spot number 14. Can we find another shooter? It’ll be another video in the future. My question to you Spurs fans is anybody that I talked about with you today somebody that you would want on the team for a reasonable price? If DeAndre, if you want DeAndre and he wants 30 million next season, it ain’t happening. We’re not going over the luxury tax. Looks like we have about 15 million to spend. Maybe it’s even less. But this is what’s out there. Unless we bring back our own guys. Mambu’s gone. Not an option. In case somebody haven’t heard, Sandra Mamaish signed a contract with the Raptors. Good luck in Canada. Hey, as far as Bassie and Biombo, I I don’t know what the team’s going to do, but they do. And that’s their job, right? Drop the comment down below. Hit the thumbs up. Support the channel. OOPS! Didn't mean to hide myself while showing our cap figures!
Would you like to see the Spurs sign another big. If so, who? Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

I'm still waiting for Jock Landale to get waived. Wouldn't mind bringing him back. Screw it lets double down on the Aussies and go get Patty Mills back just to waive his towel for young guns. Move Branham for some protected 2nd round pick. Need the roster spot.
Devin is making way too much for his level of production. Blake and Malaki are also duplicative players and combined are making too much for their production. It’s time to cut or trade some of these players and add talent that actually fills gaps.
honestly, we shouldn't get any players that will take away developmental opportunities from Castle, Harper, Carter
Bring back CP3 for one more year and a 4 who can hit 3s
bol bol and Damien Lillard
biyombo is probably fine as a 3rd center
What’s up Rich!!!?! Hope you’re doing well. Can’t WAIT for Spurs BASKETBALL!! I’m all in, even on pre season!! Will you be calling preseason games brobroe?! GSG!!!
The sleepers of this free agency : Caleb Houstan (he only shoots at 3 but at 40% !! He could be great out of the bench to camp in the corners and give spacing) and Tristan Vukcevic (there are some flashes of very good last season and he shot at 37.3% at 3 last season).
The problem is that they are very young players.
I would prefer to bring much older players for the last two spots but there are not many left (Horford, Wagner, Bryant, Byiombo).
We can also bring an old PG (there are plenty left : Joseph, Mills, Brogdon, Dinwiddie, Morris, Payton, Exum,…).
The Spurs may also choose to bring bust top4 picks (just for fun) : Simmons, Bagley, Wiseman, Fultz,… (in order for them to avoid that they left NBA).
Call me crazy but we’re competing for a championship this year!
Wemby, Kornet and Bol Bol would be dope tho
Make It Count Spurs! Good Veteran Player Team Friendly Deal 💰
I miss Mamu
BOL BOL!!!!!!
Expectations: Durant & Yabusele.
Reality: Kornet & Bol Bol.
Rating: Brian Wright out of 10
We sign Bol Bol, so shaq will loves.
The spurs front office keeps vassell on team jus too piss true spurs fans off! guys a loser and doesn't improve! its a waste of salary.
Quando, quando, quandoooo…. 😂😂😂
Where is Chris Paul on the salary cap?
NONE for me.
I'd prefer a trade for Vassell and/or KJ to acquire more players (like those 2 for 4 servicable roleplayers)
Bol Bol
If we're going to add a bigman I feel like a trade is the most likely path. Especially for a PF.
Players like Vassell and Keldon should be available for the right deal. Players like Harrison Barnes or Julian Champagnie should be less available (especially considering they're two of our best shooters on the team right now) but in the right deal they can easily go away also. We could lose any two of those players and not really have any issues.
Players like Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley probably have negative value. They're a sunk cost so I wouldn't just cut them. But it's hard to imagine getting much value in return in a trade. However, I have openly expressed the desire to send Wesley out in order to give him a chance to save his career. With Harper and Fox now on the team his reps will be virtually zero.
I want bol bol
Should of kept mamu
I see people wanting to get rid of Devin and Keldon along with Wesley and Malaki. I see KJ and Devin as valuable bench players that I can't see the Spurs replacing dollar for dollar. Malaki and Wesley have no trade value but can be used in cases of mass injury or car problems. If they could package the two for a veteran 6-9 or 6-10 guy that can still produce than go for it but doubt it. I say keep Dev and KJ for this season to see if their work over the summer did them justice. I'm not saying that if a trade comes along that include Kj, Dev and some picks for someone like Giannis then sure.
PRIORITY = 3PT / STRETCH BIG: Another paint-only Wemby sub is just not worth trading assets. Bol Bol can sorta shoot, but lacks the mental focus, passion, and physical presence necessary to be a reliable contributor. Ayton can't shoot; plus he's a teenager with a selfish attitude. Really, only Horford fits with Wagner coming close (he has the basics to improve on shooting). But Horford is gonna need a walker soon. Seems like it's better to save the assets and wait for a BIG trade — for someone who is younger and a solid stretch 4 (or Giannis, of course).
I hear Giannis might still be available. After the Luka trade, anything is possible!!!
I liked the addition of luke , might be overpaid if he's gonna be a bench role but he was a much needed pick up , I like how the spurs arent going all out making big splashes, safe and simple and thry have already improved greatly with thr crafty picks and luke, now just a fee more role player's , excited for the upcoming season
Until G-League Mitch proves he is HC material, I cannot stand watching his boring self. This team needed Mike Malone, not a rookie who showed in SIX MONTHS he was out of his element. As previously stated, salaries are going thru the roof and the middle and lower class in SA will not be able to attend games. If Wemby is still around, then expect the billionaires to buy out their "poorer" partners and the Spurs to be relocated in 5-10 years. San Antonio, pray for us.
[ Negatives: Market size, ownership spending power, big shoes
Though San Antonio is a growing city, it still is one of the league's smaller markets and has various effects on acquiring players, though the Spurs' organization enjoys an excellent reputation. The ownership has paid just $5 million in luxury tax in the past 13 years and with big contracts coming for Fox and Wembanyama plus the new challenges that come with high payrolls, spending is something to monitor. That said, since the Spurs were last contenders they have taken on new deep-pocketed partners, including billionaire computer magnate Michael Dell and investment firm Sixth Street. There is also the challenge of coming behind Popovich, someone who won five championships and established a massive legacy over the previous 29 years. ]
Walker kessler
Sign Bol BOL & resign Bassey or Biyomba. We lack two players to fill the roster.
Hopefully, they dont add d. jordan or d. ayton. Those 2 are definitely not Spurs material.
I must have heard you sneeze. Blessyua!
Since we're talking end of bench Big, then Biyambo over Bassey. Unless they like Bassey better for practices. When he eventually gets hurt and is out for the year, then bring Biyambo back.
BREAKING NEWS: A.M. Hoops says Bucks are paying Myles Turner $27mill this season. Well, that is what the Spurs are paying Devin Vassell. And Spurs fans STILL WANT VASSELL. Good that PATSFO knows paying a bench player $27mill is stupid. That deal was made thinking the guy was going places. He did not…so shed that salary.
How about trying out a possible 3-4 understudy of HB in signing a guy like Kuminga? I like the idea of bringing on a vet like Horford too since CP3 is probably not coming back!
HEADS UP!!!!!!!!! Spurs Digest another SPURS CONTENT Channel has a story titled ' WOW It Just got very real" with Giannis Face on it Basically bringing up the chance we can bring him in SAN ANTONIO with a trade. In my opinion this trade will not happen if any trades happen it will be lower tier Veterans.
Ayton to the Lakers
