The NBA Has A Kevin Durant & Alperen Şengün PROBLEM
the Houston Rockets just executed one of the most insane chess moves in recent NBA history and it all started last summer with the final woge bomb of all time just before Adrien Wajnaroski retired he dropped the nuclear news that Houston wanted to trade for Kevin Durant no one believed him yet one year later Houston did just that they didn’t just trade for a superstar they just completed a super team in the NBA apron era where this is near impossible to build this is a squad that nobody saw coming and one that could challenge OKC right now the Rockets led by a 21-year-old Turkish wizard and a 20-year-old athletic freak just landed one of the greatest scorers ever to touch a basketball this isn’t just another ring chase this is Kevin Durant’s golden ticket to redemption with the NBA basketball gods his chance to reestablish his legacy as an all-time great but here’s what makes this absolutely terrifying houston now has dual rocket power two former NBA champions in Kevin Durant and Fred Van Vlet guiding this explosive young core they gave up a lot but their head coach Eime Udoka gave the push to land Durant and sent the entire league a message that the Houston Rockets era is now not later the league they’re about to find out what a real problem looks like the perfect storm kd plus Shenun equals pure chaos here’s what everyone’s missing about Alprin Shenun this kid just dragged Houston to 52 wins and the two seed in the loaded Western Conference he missed all NBA by literally one vote while putting up numbers that would make Nicola Joic jealous 610 point with Hakee’s footwork and Magic’s court vision he’s already unguardable but he had one fatal flaw space all season long defenses packed the paint triple teamed him in the post dared Houston’s shooters to beat them from deep that problem just got solved kevin Durant the most unguardable scorer in NBA history just walked through the door a career 39% three-point shooter with a 7 foot wingspan and the most pure jumper you’ll ever see let’s stop for a second and talk about what Alprin Shenun actually is because if you’re not watching Houston regularly you have no idea what’s coming last season 21 points nine rebounds five assists on 58% true shooting those are all NBA numbers but here’s what the stats don’t show he brings the ball up court he runs pick and rolls as the ball handler he makes passes that most guards can’t even see and in the post he’s got footwork that would make Hakee Elijahan proud but here’s the scary part he’s only 21 years old and he’s already doing this think about Peak Powgas Gasol’s basketball IQ mixed with Nicola Joic’s passing vision wrapped up in Tim Duncan’s fundamentals that’s Shenun and he’s just scratching the surface the kid averaged five assists per game as a center while anchoring a top five defense he can guard the perimeter protect the rim and switch on to guards without getting exposed and now he gets to play with Kevin Durant every defense that tried to stop Shenun last year is about to face an impossible choice stop the 21-year-old point center in the paint or stop one of the greatest scorers ever on the perimeter you can’t do both and that’s what makes this terrifying here’s the lineup that’s about to terrorize the Western Conference kevin Durant 6’11 who shoots like Steph Curry alprin Shengun 610 who passes like Chris Paul jabari Smith Jr 6’11 who defends like Kawhi Leonard amen Thompson 6’7 with a 7 foot wingspan who moves like John Morant fred Van Vleet with his elite point guard prowess four guys who are basically 7 ft tall four guys who can all switch defensively four guys who can all handle the ball and make plays this isn’t Twin Towers basketball this is positionless basketball on steroids good luck running pick and roll against that switching defense good luck getting open shots against those wingspans good luck rebounding against that length but here’s what makes this scary beyond just the size they kept everybody while most superstar trades gut the roster Houston kept their entire young core amen Thompson defensive menace athletic freak jabari Smith Jr Elite defender improving shooter tari Een sixth man energy defensive versatility cam Whitmore explosive scorer off the bench reed Shepard rookie sharpshooter with high IQ that’s not just depth that’s a 10-man rotation of length athleticism and defensive switching and they still have Steven Adams for when they need old school physicality in the paint the Rockets just became the longest most versatile most switching heavy team in the league and they can still spread you out with elite shooting that combination has almost never existed before let’s talk about what Kevin Durant has been dealing with for the past 5 years for one he hasn’t had a proper point guard to play with since Steph Curry in Brooklyn he had Kyrie Irving for exactly 47 games together that’s it one of the most talented point guards ever and they barely got to build chemistry before injuries and drama tore it apart in Phoenix it was even worse last season he had Taius Jones a solid backup point guard forced into a starting role the year before they had no real point guard at all just asking Devin Booker to run point while also being their primary scorer kd was back to being a one-man ISObased offense carrying much of the offensive load at 37 years old let’s be honest at 36 Durant isn’t the same player who terrorized the league in his 20s his defense has declined he doesn’t attack the rim like he used to and he gets fewer free throws in crunch time but here’s what he is still the most unguardable shot maker alive and that’s exactly what Houston was missing the Rockets were the number five defense but just the number 12 offense they were one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league in the playoffs they desperately needed someone who could get a bucket when it mattered most remember Jaylen Green in game seven eight points for a franchise that watched James Harden disappear in big moments for eight years they’ve seen that movie before harden is still playing out that same playoff burnout story and it feels like Houston probably saw that in Jaylen Green as well that ends now for the first time since Golden State Kevin Durant has a complete team around him fred Van Vleet a proven champion point guard who won a title with Toronto and knows exactly how to set up scorers like KD alprin Shenun the perfect big man partner think Powasal’s basketball IQ meets Manu’s crafty playmaking a center who can actually create for Durant instead of just catching lobs eime Udoka a coach Durant has a great relationship with who knows exactly how to maximize superstars with elite defensive systems this is what Durant hasn’t had in years a true point guard and a facilitating big man and a coach who gets it now here’s where it gets interesting imagine what Fred Van Vleet can unlock van Vleet isn’t just going to get KD the ball and hope he creates magic this is a point guard who understands positioning he knows how to get shooters to their sweet spots picture this van Vleet calling screens to get KD curling around Shengun into that deadly mid-range area or running him off pindowns to his favorite baseline spots or hitting him in rhythm on trailer threes after defensive breakdowns we haven’t seen Kevin Durant get easy buckets like this since Steph Curry and Draymond Green were setting them up in Golden State for five years KD has been working twice as hard for every shot isolation after isolation creating his own looks against set defenses that’s exhausting for any 36-year-old even Kevin Durant but with Van Vleet orchestrating Shenun creating from the high post and Udoka’s system maximizing everyone’s strengths KD can get back to being the most efficient scorer in basketball history durant just shot 43% from three last season while carrying Phoenix’s entire offense imagine those numbers when he’s getting better looks with better spacing in a better system at 36 Durant doesn’t need to be the entire offense anymore he can pick his spots play within the flow and still drop 28 a game efficiently the league’s about to remember what Kevin Durant looks like when he has help and when that help knows exactly how to use him here’s what separates Houston from every other super team experiment we’ve seen fail championship DNA and they have it in double doses we just witnessed the power of having even one champion on your roster alex Caruso joined OKC this year one veteran who knew what it took to win and look what happened he shut down the unstoppable Nicola Joic in the playoffs made clutch plays in every game showed that young talented OKC team exactly what championship level intensity looked like when it mattered most one champion one ring that’s all it took to push OKC to their first championship now Houston has a dualpowered rocket engine kevin Durant two-time NBA champion who knows how to perform on the biggest stage fred Van Vleet NBA champion who hit the biggest shots in Toronto’s championship run both have been in game sevens both have hit clutch shots with seasons on the line both know exactly what it feels like when the pressure is at its absolute peak we’ve seen this formula work before pascal Seakkum showed the power of having championship experience when he joined Indiana instantly elevating their playoff intensity and showing younger players what championship level preparation looks like but Houston doesn’t have one champion showing the way they have two veterans who’ve been to the mountaintop who know exactly what it takes to get there and who can teach this incredibly talented young core how to channel their ability when it matters most this isn’t just talent meeting opportunity this is championship experience guiding elite potential and that combination it’s absolutely unstoppable the moment this trade became official Las Vegas didn’t hesitate houston went from maybe in a few years to second favorite to win the 2026 NBA championship and here’s where the odds makers got it right this isn’t just about talent it’s about perfect fit durant’s 43% three-point shooting directly solves Houston’s biggest weakness halfcourt scoring and floor spacing no more packed paints no more daring role players to beat you from deep eme Udoka’s defensive foundation gives them something most super teams lack two-way identity this is a defense that can keep them competitive in almost every game regardless of what they do on the offensive end they force tough shots deter three-pointers and switch everything exactly what you need in the playoffs and the depth it’s ridiculous oh and one more thing the league probably forgot kevin Durant isn’t walking into a locker room full of strangers steven Adams his former teammate from those legendary OKC runs is already in Houston that pick and roll chemistry from 2016 it’s still there that trust already built the leadership Adams brings to young players Durant knows exactly how valuable that is this isn’t just about talent it’s about proven chemistry and championship experience we just watched OKC capture their first championship this year led by MVP Sha Gilgis Alexander playing like prime Kobe Bryant no one could stop him that explosive unstoppable level of basketball seemed untouchable but here’s the thing Kevin Durant lives on that level they don’t call him the Slim Reaper for nothing he’s ready to take on the best of the best any day anytime the league doesn’t have a Kevin Durant problem anymore it has a Houston Rockets problem and that problem is about to get a whole lot worse are the Rockets now the favorites to win it all or is this just another superstar experiment that’ll fall short drop your hottest take in the comments smash that like button if you think Houston just broke the league and subscribe for more NBA chaos every single week

The NBA Has A Kevin Durant & Alperen Sengun PROBLEM
The Houston Rockets just executed one the most INSANE chess moves in recent NBA history. And it all started last summer with the final Woj bomb of all time – just before Adrian Wojnarowski retired, he dropped the nuclear news that Houston wanted to trade for Kevin Durant. No one believed him, yet one year later Houston did just that…
They didn’t just trade for a superstar… they just COMPLETED a superteam in the NBA Apron era, where this is near impossible to build! This is a squad that nobody saw coming and one that could challenge OKC right now.
Kevin Durant is in Houston—and he’s teaming up with Alperen Şengün to form one of the most dangerous duos in the league.
This isn’t just a trade. It’s a chess move in the NBA apron era. With limited spending power, the Rockets somehow built a superteam—a squad that could go toe-to-toe with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the defending Western Conference juggernaut.
Şengün’s Euro-style finesse. KD’s pure bucket-getting greatness. Amen Thompson’s rise. Steven Adams back as the anchor. This might be the most underrated title contender in the NBA… and the league has a massive problem on its hands.

Shit they way you just talked about sengun you would think Brodie is about to go back to back in mvp years stop the fucking glazing the rockets ain’t winning a championship with kd ever ESPECIALLY not the first year, if this was the pre injured kd or Kd that joined Phoenix when he was 34-35 yeah maybe but NOW ? Nope, pin this comment dude too old now
That H Town Jerseys are fireeee
KD is going from a terrible defense to a top 5 defense. Tyus Jones was below average defensively. KD should fit better in this offense bc of the inside presence. He’ll save a lot of energy defensively with all of the potential defensive lineups Ime can go with.
The rockets really didn't give up a lot…😂
Every former thunder player from a decade ago has played in Houston. I'm a Houstonian, and I'm telling you it will end the same as with Harden and Russ
I am hyped up for the season to begin! Stay healthy my Rockets and be competitive 🙏
3 champions… Jeff Green
He played with Jeff Green on those teams too
Starting line up for Rockets
PG: Van Fleet
SG: Thompson
SF: Durant
PF: Smith
C: Sangun
Keep an eye on free agency for the Rockets
Hakeem’s foot work?Stop it!!!!!
KD doesn't even turn 37 until this upcoming September…so he was 36 for Phoenix.
Houston kept everybody without giving up anything.
3 if they sign Jeff back
Naw… this team isn’t going to accomplish much. 1st or 2nd round exit at best.
I got a gentleman's bet that says Durant doesn't make 55 games with us
We also resigned Adam's which nooooo body seems to realize
Jalen led the Rockets to the 2 seed not Sengun. Jalen was the leading scorer and Amen was the best defender am just saying. A pass first big man, who slowly brings the ball up the court 😂 "he got post moves that will make Hakeem" what?😂 Stop the hype bro! Sengun should of dominanted GW and D.Green but he didnt. He shot a terrible % from the field
Coach Ime Udoka will be the next Rudy tomjanovich watch out America 🇺🇸 here comes the Rockets 🚀 3 peat 🏆
Superteam with only 2 Allstars? Using terms without even knowing the meaning lol. Be for real
Stop the ChatGPT sentence structure crap! "This is not just_____. This is_____."
Hate to say it but Houston could win it all. Let's not give short shrift to Amen. Houston has THREE stars, not two. The team was an offensive rebounding beast last year, but didn't capitalize enough. Sengun will have even more room to dominate the boards and Amen is likely to have a breakout year on the offensive glass as well. IOW, it might feel like the Rockets are getting two possessions for every one their opponents get, only this year they will have one of the league's premiere 3-point shooters getting two bites at the apple if he misses his first shot.
The only way they don't end up with the best record is if Giannis joins Wemby with Fox, Castle, Vassel, Paul, and Sochan. Wemby, Giannis, Fox, Castle and Sochan are elite defenders. Wemby, Giannis, Fox and Vassel are scorers. Defenses trying to stop Wemby and Giannis are likely to be exposed big time. Plus, a lot of the Spurs points could come from blocked shots and turnovers.
The bottom, line is that with Giannis, the Spurs and the Rockets could provide one of the most elite basketball matchups in NBA history and it'll just be the Western Conference Finals.
Bro KD is old as hell and is going to get injured in about 24 games 😂
Can't w8
This is the same thing that the Suns said. They got rid of their young defensive core for KD and became a lot worse. Only a year and half removed from the NBA finals and the Suns after getting KD never got close, KD got swept and didn't even make the playoffs this year. KD is a walking bucket but his defense has dropped off significantly and him being much older, I highly doubt he can maintain any level of consistency on the defensive end throughout the year. I am very skeptical how the Rockets will do giving up 2 defensive minded players. KD also has zero leadership skills and you can also says he's a negative locker room guy. No one would ever say Chris Paul is better than KD but, at least CP3 lead the Suns to the finals with his intangibles and leadership skills.
Raphael Stone and the Rockets' front office are putting on an absolute masterclass of roster management this off-season! Trading for KD while only giving up Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks as players. Dillon hurts but the reason he was expendable was because of the depth we had behind him with Jabari and Tari! He locked up Coach Udoka long term and has re-signed Fred, Steven Adams, Jabari, and our stay-ready-crew aside from Jock who is TBD in a week. We are STACKED for the foreseeable future!!!!
Everything slightly good is called a problem now?
This is not a superteam
ALPEREN IS OUR PROUD <3 TR !
KD n Alpi cannot make it.
Kevin Durant looks like Bubba Smith from the Police Academy movies
(Moses hightower)
you may have to redo this video, since clint and finny smith is here
What if Trea Young was the point better passer better shooter than their point guard now
Jabari does not defend like kawhi…..
Crazy how this got outdated in 1 day. KFS + Capella have just entered the locker room.
he is mixed of ginobili and hakeem. unstoppable.
Respect Alperen Şengün…
All this for curry bro smh f**k 😂curry needs help help
If KD can't become a better passer vs pressure/physicality, Rockets fans will be upset. And Ime is known for iso ball alot offensively, which with a turnover prone KD may make for bad recipe against teams that really guard
Fred ValVleet?
KD.Sengun.Capella.Jabari.Thompson.Van Vleet.Finney Smith 😳
Houston’s offense is going to become completely stagnant. KD’s game just isn’t what gets a team deep into the playoffs anymore. The only way the Rockets go deep is if KD adapts. I hope, for Houston fans’ sake, that they don’t fall into the Suns’ trap where KD gets the ball and the rest of the team stands and watches.
