This Changes EVERYTHING for the Pelicans…

this changes everything for the Pelicans as they get ready for next season loaded with a bunch of talent on this team but a lot of internal issues has held this team back and we’re going to take a look back at the comments the Jonte Murray made a couple of weeks back in his pivot interview and how Joe Dumar might fix this situation inside this edition of Pelic’s Digest what’s good with it everybody it’s your people Melo the mic thank you so much once again for rocking with us on Pelicans Digest man and the subscriptions have gone crazy man big shout out to everybody appreciate all the love man we have jumped up to over 800 subscriptions uh since my last video about what 12 hours ago this is crazy man so thank y’all so much man keep the comments coming and let’s keep the discussion going about what’s going on with the New Orleans Pelicans as they wrap up their draft activities and of course you probably load uh uh logging on this morning and getting on social media and you continue to see everybody still bashing the Pelicans for some of the moves they made over in the draft and we’ll talk about that in another video another time but I want to rewind the tape on something that happened before the draft and that has to do with Jonte Murray and uh his interview on the Pivot podcast a couple of weeks back and if you haven’t had a chance to watch it go watch that interview man because it’s a fascinating look into this young man and his background growing up in Seattle dealing with gang violence and drugs and and his mother and a whole bunch being being out being in and out of jail and a whole bunch of different things to get to where he is it’s an inspiring story and it will also give you better insight on Murray as a person and as a player and one of the things that I took away from this interview uh was that there was a lot of internal problems inside this Pelicans organization with David Griffin uh beforehand and I talked about a lot of that in the in a previous video uh but I want to talk about in this particular video Murray and his comments uh and how they’re being addressed uh of course if you haven’t seen the interview go check it out now it’s available everywhere uh but in that interview he spoke on how the team pretty much abandoned him while he was going through his injury he says it was a situation where like I got all these problems going on and I broke my hand of course that happened in the first game of last season then I’m recovering my mom had a stroke one of my cousins got killed then my uncle overdosed during all of this i’m not getting what I need from the organization he went on to add that it’s hard for me to get my training time it’s hard for me to get lifts and it’s hard for me to get my own court time so you can only imagine where my mental is at and a lot of people thought that uh Murray was bashing the organization and and a whole lot of the reports that I saw and a lot of articles that I saw kept saying “Oh here we go again he’s saying the quiet part out loud about the Pelicans.” And that’s true because the number one issue with the Pelicans has always been their medical staff but when you start looking at the other injuries especially in this particular last season with all the injuries the hallebertton and all these ACL tears all across the season and and all that the NBA has a bigger issue with this medical staff’s leaguewide not just in the Pelicans i think the Pelicans was emblematic of a a larger leaguewide problem which is why you probably seen these reports of David uh uh the commissioner talking about he’s going to look at AI uh to try to figure out what’s wrong with all these injuries but it was also the issue with Griffin not paying attention to his players and that was a big issue right there and I said this in the last video it seemed like he didn’t care it seemed like he had already had a foregone conclusion that look the season’s over i’m probably going to get fired so why should I check on Devonte Murray here’s my problem with that and and and and I will say this again for those who don’t understand murray I don’t have a problem with what he’s saying he’s calling the team out i don’t have an issue with him calling the team out for the simple fact is that that shows leadership it shows a guy that wants to be on this team it shows a guy that wants what’s best for your organization and he’s hoping that you can find a way to address that situation and it seemed like and it seemed like like I said David Griffin wasn’t really trying to address the situation but thankfully thankfully if you paid attention to what Joe Dumar said in his press conference after the uh on draft night it would give you some insight on how they addressing these problems and one of the problems that he says that he’s going to address is talking to Murray and it started with just having a conversation he and I had a really good conversation we talked about it the next morning after the interview dropped i asked him “Tell me what’s happening.” And we had a good long talk and it won’t be a problem this year and it’s good to hear that it is really good to hear that that won’t be a problem this year because my issue is why did it take for this interview for anybody to start paying attention that was my question and the other thing is where was this guy what was Willie Green during all of this what was he doing i get it he was probably coaching the team dealing with all that but you should have Willie Green should have did at least the most to check on this player and make sure that this player was okay and he could get into facility and all the other stuff never mind David Griffin because in that same interview that uh Murray was talking about he spoke glowingly about how Greg Papovic checked on him and showed him love and and wanted to move his mom out to San Antonio and you didn’t hear any of that about Willie Green like Willie Green just is just there and that’s an issue I think but thankfully and thankfully I have to say this uh I’m glad that uh Joe Dumar is addressing this issue because he went on to say sometimes when things like this happen it’s an opportunity an opportunity to get better as an organization i called in a medical staff and said let’s talk about the uh the Jonte’s interview what part of this can we get better at what part of this can we get better at i wonder if Griffin ever asks that question i wonder if Willie Green ever asked that question when it comes to this player this is what’s going to change everything about the Pelicans is that we’re getting off this good vibes everybody’s happy oh yeah we’re losing but everybody’s good vibes and good characters and all this other stuff it’s time Joe Dumar is bringing in the attitude of let’s address uh issues head on let’s not sit on this and wait let’s let’s see what’s going on and what can we do and now that’s being reported that Murray is in a better situation after that conversation and he’s also the Pelicans have also assigned somebody from the medical staff to be with them while he rehabs so we can keep getting constant reports and finding out what’s going on with them and make sure that he’s ready for the start of the season that’s a beautiful thing when you think about it man like for real this is a beautiful thing when you think about it that uh Murray I think again can be one of your leaders on this team he is now going to be your veteran guard leadership on this team along with Jordan P so you have to make sure things are good with Murray because again this guy is still good despite the injuries he’s still great he’s an all-star he can still give you at least 20 plus a night if if you give him the opportunity now and now with the uh new season coming up you’re going to have to start this season with more than likely uh the rookie fears and Jordan Pool in your starting lineup but by the time Murray comes off of injury you can have somebody that’s ready for a playoff push but you got to let him be the leader on this team because it seems like this guy wants to be the leader of this team and that changes everything for the Pelicans in my opinion now the issue will be the real issue will be who’s going to make it at the end of this season because there’s only two people whose jobs in my opinion are really on the line at this point and that’s Willie Green and Zion Williamson now if Zion wants to take up the role of being the leader I’m all for it i hope he wants to adapt and become the leader of this team i really do but my issue continues to be with Willie Green uh because it seemed like Willie was out to lunch and of course as you know he’s only got two years on his contract left so this is going to be a tr is this is going to be a make it or break a year for Willie Green and Zion Williamson those are the two pieces that are I think in my opinion are going to be removed if you have to go start a full rebuild now in my opinion about Trey Murphy and uh Herb Jones those are non-negotiable those are the two players along with Zion Williamson that you keep and move just in case you have to get a first round pick next year and you have to get back into the draft you don’t move those guys but Willie Green is coaching for his job this year and it’s about that time e too granted he’s gotten this extension because he led the team to the playoffs two seasons ago they won over 40 games and got into the playin and was on the verge of going into the playoffs before the Zion injury so it’s up to Willie Green to fix this situation and I just don’t see him doing it i I I don’t because if Murray sitting here telling you “I can’t get in the gym i can’t do it.” And this is one of your prime assets that you done picked up why aren’t you being more involved in this my guy why aren’t you being more involved in this never mind David Green if David Green knew he was on his way out that’s cool if David Griffin should I say knew he was on his way out and didn’t care anymore I could get that i could dig that he knew the writing was on the wall but if my thing is where’s the coach at because this man spoke glowingly again Murray spoke glowingly about how Greg Papovic looked out for him took care of him while he was in San Antonio and I don’t hear nothing like that coming from Willie Green about Willie Green and this is why I keep coming back to about him being the head coach if you have two detrimental pieces left on this team before you can go into a full rebuild those two pieces are Zion and Willie Green i already do believe that James Burggo was kept on in the staff just in case to be the coach in waiting if if things don’t go well with Willie Green especially if the season don’t get off to a good start with Willie Green if this season coming up doesn’t get off to a good start I expect Willie Green to be gone before 20 games this is I’m just calling it now i expect Willie Green to be fired before 20 games is up if this team is not trending in the right direction or at least have a winning record after 20 games it’s just just my thoughts and I think that’s why they got Berago in that position because he has head coaching position uh uh uh experience and also he has more of an offensive mind as compared to Willie Green who continues to insist on trying to be a defensive team despite the fact that you are maybe a still one of the lowest rated defensive teams and one of the lowest rated offensive teams so you have to get aggressive here and I this goes back to my video la yesterday about this about I love the approach with Joe Dumar because we are trying to be aggressive we have been sitting back too long being patient and being cautious and trying to wait on things to develop and change you that’s not going to work we have to get aggressive at this point and I appreciate that that Jos again is being aggressive but I at least also can see and also appreciate the fact that he is addressing the issues that have been plaguing his team now will that mean that the medical staff is going to get fired are we going to change out the whole medical staff i don’t know because again the injuries all across the NBA the tour ACLs and all that that has become a problematic thing all across the league not just in New Orleans yes it hurt New Orleans big time last year but as we seen as the season develop more and more superstar players going down with injuries and ACL tears and I think that’s an emblematic emblematic of a leaguewide problem on what’s going on with these cats and why they can’t stay healthy and why they they’re popping the ACL’s left and right so again I love that he’s addressing it head on because we finally have somebody in the organization that is at least trying to clear up all of the national narrative about they don’t know what they’re doing and you see what we’re getting now even the national narrative continues to be they don’t know what they doing even if we would have stood put and did nothing they they would have like “Well what the Psalms are going to do what are they going to do?” But the fact that we’re being aggressive everybody’s got a problem with it and I love that Joe Dubar said in the press conference “We are trying to be aggressive.” I don’t know why everybody’s looking for this magical draft pick for next year everybody automatically assumes that the Pelicans are going to suck because the West is stacked but at the same time I like the fact that he is trying to address these issues and I think that’s what’s going to change everything for the New Orleans Pelicans coming up in 2025 and 2026 and you know what could change everything is if you hit that subscribe button baby if you want 3. I think this Pelicans logo is more fire 🔥 than the actual team logo 😂😂😂 great job

If the Pelicans are healthy they are in the Playoffs. Point blank

  4. Mannn ….. What the hell?? Willie Green wasn't mature enough for this job then‼ We needed this content.. I"m with you Homie‼💪🏾💯

  5. The ownership never was all in on the Pelicans, their main priority was the Saints and they screwed that up. I fault the state of Louisiana for just keep giving the Bensons wutever they wanted with no accountability

  6. He not getting what he need from the organization. Company paying you 20 million a year old you nothing . Bois or girls get your feelings out of it. No one olds you anything.

  7. As far as injuries. All the blame can't just be on the medical staff. Players need to take better care of their bodies 💯

  8. I think the starters are (hopefully) Poole-Trey-Herb-Z-Missi. Fears or GTA first off the bench, probably for Z and everybody moves up a slot. Once DJ is back I think (hope!) Poole moves to the bench so Herb can stay starting. He should be able to get 30+ mins off the bench anyway.

  9. Bro how the hell you gonna come up here and say wille Greene ain't a good coach smh that guy be working hard and coaching good bro…. you talking crap 💩

  10. I'm not mad at Joe at all for trading up to get Queen if we have a good season that pick won't be a lottery pick plain and simple and we can't do any worse than last year so only way to go is up from here I trust joe and Willie will get us back on track

  11. Being aggressive is 1 thing…..being foolish is another
Does anyone think the Pels will be in the playoffs
You gave up an unprotected 1st to move up a few spots
You won 21 games last year
You need 40 to get into the Play IN
Trade Zion why you still can
