The NBA Has A Denver Nuggets PROBLEM
The Denver Nuggets are back. They are championship contenders once again after a series of great moves. The Nuggets are one of the biggest winners of the NBA off season. They made a big trade acquiring Cameron Johnson. They also brought in fan favorite Bruce Brown as he’s reunited with the Nuggets. They signed Tim Hardaway Jr. And then they brought in Yonis Valentunes. They have a capable backup for Nicoola Joic. In this video, I’m going to talk about what the Denver Nuggets just did and how this team stacks up perfectly in a loaded Western Conference. The Denver Nuggets will have a great chance when it comes to getting out of the West and winning a championship for this season. Do me a sol, guys. Drop a like on the video. So, the Nuggets started by making a big trade on day one of NBA free agency. They traded Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected 2032 first round pick to the Nets for Cam Johnson. This was a nice move in my opinion. I mean, the Nuggets, I think they won this deal. I know they gave up the 2032 unprotected pick, but this team’s looking to win now with Jokic in his prime. And Johnson, he’s going to slide perfectly into Porter’s starting slot, and he’s going to replace Porter’s three-point shooting. Offensively, he’s going to be a perfect fit next to Joic and Murray. I mean, he showed last season that he can shoot it well, create off the bounce when needed, and also he’s a ball stopper and he’s not going to demand a ton of touches. He’s not a lockdown defender, but he’s definitely an upgrade over Michael Porter Jr. on the defensive end. And Cam Johnson’s career shooting splits, 45.3% from the field, 39.2% from three, 85.1% from the free throw line. So, his shooting and his spacing is going to be great playing with Nicoola Jokic. And I definitely rather have Cam Johnson over Michael Porter Jr. in this situation. I think this is a clear upgrade. And the Nuggets, they get off that Porter Jr. contract. And by doing this move, not only did they get the better player who’s going to be more of a two-way player, contribute on both ends, but it gave the Denver Nuggets the financial flexibility to then proceed to make their following moves. They then acquired Bruce Brown. And this was a move that was a long time coming. Since the departure, Brown hasn’t been the same player, but hopefully he can get back to looking like the Bruce Brown of old. I mean, he played a key role in the Nuggets 2023 championship run. Left that off season to sign that big deal with the Pacers. Then he got traded to the Raptors and the Seakum deal was a shell of himself. But this is just an absolutely great deal for the Denver Nuggets. I mean, they get him on a one-year deal for the minimum. Insane value. And Bruce Brown, he can now run the point when Jamal Murray’s on the bench. He knows this system well. He knows how to play off Murray and Joic. And he was just a complete gamecher for the Nuggets during that playoff run with his great cutting, his defense, and just his sheer energy. So, this was a huge addition by the Nuggets. again on the minimum just unbelievable value. Then the Nuggets added some more shooting and Tim Hardaway Jr. he also arrived on a minimum deal and he’s not the defender that Brown is but he’s going to provide that floor spacing and just give the Nuggets more shooting. And this is what the Nuggets needed. I mean you look at that series against OKC. OKC, they dared the Nuggets role players to shoot threes and the Nuggets, they took OKC to seven games despite only making 31 12% on its three-point attempt. So, Hardway is going to help with that. I mean, his three-point accuracy has fluctuated in the last 6 years, but overall, he shot it 37.4% from deep during that span. So, Hardway is definitely going to help this team with its three-point shooting. And they weren’t done there. I really love this next move that they made. They bring in Yonas Valentunes, a veteran big man. I mean, this is something the Nuggets have needed for a while. Somebody to help stabilize Denver in the nonic minutes and to come in to give Joic some rest. And he’s a clear upgrade over Dario Sarich Valentunis. He’s going to be great. I mean, he’s a big body. He’s going to be able to get offensive rebounds, bully backup bigs, and he’s going to be the perfect type of backup you want here behind Joic. So, Valentunis, a big body. This is what Denver needed. They needed a valuable backup big for Joic. So, you look at what the Nuggets have been able to do. They absolutely crushed it. This team instantly has put itself back in title contention. Like you look at the projected new rotation of the Denver Nuggets. You’re going to have Jamal Murray, Christian Brown, Cameron Johnson, Aaron Gordon, Nicole Joic, and now this team finally has a bench. They got some depth. This has been the main issue of the Denver Nuggets since they won the championship in 2023. They haven’t had a bench. They haven’t had guys they can rely on. And now you’re going to have Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., Julian Strawther, Peyton Watson, and Yonis Valentunis as your bench. This is a complete team. This is a balanced team. I mean, you look at that top eight, Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr. Strawther potentially top nine. Watson I think is going to play a major role. So overall, the Denver Nuggets, they absolutely ace the 2025 off season. They’re in that upper echelon right now. It’s the OKC Thunder, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets. Those are the clear three best teams in the West that are going to have a chance of getting out of the West and winning the title. The Denver Nuggets, they did a phenomenal job. It’s like, what the hell was Calvin Booth doing over the last couple of seasons? We got these moves over the course of what 24 hours. The Denver Nuggets just transformed their rotation, transformed this roster, put the necessary pieces around Joic. This is how you build around your best player. This is how you build around the best player in the game. And I love this for Joic because now he’s going to have a great chance of winning another title. The pieces are set. This is likely it for the Nuggets. And this team looks absolutely stellar. I think this is going to work beautifully. They got more shooting. They got an upgrade over MPJ. Got off that contract. They got a bench. They got some depth. And they got a big body to back up Joic. This is exactly what the Denver Nuggets needed. And they addressed everything they needed and then some. So, the Denver Nuggets, they are going to be problematic for every team in the NBA this season, and they will be in that conversation when it comes to which team will win the 2026 NBA title. Let me know your thoughts on the Nuggets off season. What move did you like the most? And do you think the Nuggets will win the title for next season? Drop a comment down below. old news
0:23 lil bit of a carry. see I wish the refs would call this stuff instead of phantom touch fouls on SGA!
who knew all it took was getting rid of booth
They are not back. Still have to get rid of murray some how. He will hold them back.
Nuggs are back baby!!
Getting rid MPJ was great. Now if the Nuggets can get rid of Murray for anything, even a pack of ketchup would be a win.
