So, could the Sacramento Kings be trading away Demar Rosen to the Memphis Grizzlies this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayworld.net. But this trade would see the Memphis Grizzlies receiving Demar De Rozan and the Sacramento Kings receiving Cole Anthony John Contar a 2030 first round draft pick and a 27 or 2027 second round draft pick. So in my personal opinion, this move doesn’t make a ton of sense from the Grizzlies perspective. They just gave up on Desmond Bane. Uh he of course got uh you know traded away to the Orlando Magic. Now they did get back a ton in return in the form of a lot of future draft capital. Cole Anthony who they would see who they would see uh getting flipped in this deal. Uh so they kind of set themselves up nicely in the future for a pretty expensive player in Desmond Bane. But acquiring an older player in Demar De Rozan giving up on some of that younger talent. Um like the first round pick in 2030 Cole Anthony and John Contrar makes a lot of sense in my opinion. uh the Grizzlies would have been better off keeping this core together. Now, Demard Rosen’s a very talented player, I think, on this Grizzlies team. He had some offensive reinforcements to this group, especially if John Morant missed his time with an injury or for whatever reason. I think Demard Rosen can kind of hold the load offensively speaking uh for periods of time. Pair that with Jiren Jackson Jr. who recently signed a big-time contract extension. having a big three for the foreseeable future of Demar Jaw and of course Jiren Jackson. It probably gets a team into the playoffs, but after that what? Like they’re probably not going to be one of the better teams in the Western Conference next year. So, in my personal opinion, they’re better off holding on to this draft capital in case they want to pivot to a rebuild in the future. I would not be trading for an older player like Demar De Rozan. Now, from the Kings perspective, this trade’s not terrible. It’s a bit of a retool for them. Uh they’re getting back some younger talent in the form of Cole Anthony, John Konchar. That 2030 first round pick if the Grizzlies decide to rebuild could actually have some pretty solid value. Uh plus a second round draft pick in 2027 isn’t a terrible thing. You’re moving off of an older player getting a little bit younger and going through a bit of a retool that way. So I know Demar’s the better player and he makes the Grizzlies better now. But if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m gonna go with the Sacramento Kings. There of course has been some rumors about Cole Anthony being rerouted as well. and he’s a player that could likely be gone this off season. But as I mentioned before, I think the winner of this deal is the Sacramento Kings. Leave your thoughts.
