So, could the Portland Trailblazers be trading away Scoot Henderson to the Utah Jazz this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from bleacherreport.com. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Portland Trailblazers receiving Lorie Markin and the Utah Jazz receiving Scoot Henderson and Jeremy Grant. So, in my personal opinion, this trade would be pretty intriguing if it were to happen. More so for Utah’s case compared to Portland. Now, I don’t really see a world where Portland trades Scoot Henderson this early on into his NBA career. Uh, the former third overall draft from a couple years ago now is definitely one of the few bright spots this uh Trailblazers team has on their roster. And I think that trading that for Lori Markin is a sort of a more of a win now move, so to speak, uh, compared to maybe a futuristic approach. So, I don’t really see Portland being in that situation where uh especially with DeAndre Aiden being bought out the other day and with this roster like with Drew Holiday in the mix there, he could potentially be shipped out, etc. I don’t think giving up on Scoot Henderson makes a ton of sense. Now, in this situation, they would be giving up on Jeremy Grant’s contract. So, I guess the price would be you’re attaching Scoot Henderson on to Jeremy Grant’s contract, moving all that money off the books, then getting back a legitimate, you know, star player, I would say, in the form of Lori Markin and sort of having a core moving forward of Shaden Sharp, Lorie Markin, um, and Derew Holiday, I guess. So, a bit of a different look, but for sort of how deep the Western Conference is next year, I don’t this makes a ton of sense from the Trailblazers perspective. I think Lori Markin being maybe the best player on a team probably isn’t the best course of action. He’s more of like a second or third option in my opinion on a championship caliber team. Whereas for the Utah Jazz, I actually love this trade for them quite a bit. Like for a team that has lots of cap space, you might as well take on a bad contract in Jeremy Grant. He’s still a pretty solid player, but a player that definitely is making a lot more money than he probably should. And if you’re able to take on that contract and get Scoot Henderson as a bit of a consolation prize, you pay you pair him with Ace Bailey and the rest of this young roster in Utah, that’s a pretty good young core for the foreseeable future. So, for all those reasons, I think the winner of this deal would be the Utah Jazz. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
