With the seventh pick, with the 13th pick, with the 40th pick in the 2025 NBA draft, the New Orleans Pelicans select. You see it on TV for so many years and you finally in a position sitting at one of these tables and hearing name calls. Dream come true.

Super excited. Um, something that you dream of for a long time and finally hear my name called and I know there’s more work to be done. One of those things that you’ll never forget in your life. This is a dream come true. Got my name called, found a new home. Super excited about that. Um, and I’m ready to get to work. Pelicans is getting a dog and I’m I’m ready to show my teammates what I’m capable of and we have something special.
The Pelicans just also made a trade to draft Derek Queen. So, you’re going to be
Yeah. You’re going to be joining another uh rookie classmate. The Atlanta Hawks trade the draft rights to Derek Queen, the 13th pick, to the New Orleans Pelicans. Oh, he could play. He could play.

The whole worked out, bro. It didn’t work out, bro. It’s a blessing. Uh, that’s how you know they wanted me to be there. And I’m just ready to put on for New Orleans and the people that believed in me. Like they told me at like 11th pick and like at the the end of 11th pick and then I told like everybody started smile. I was everybody keep cool but it was like it was so relieving when when I heard my name finally call. But I just want to help the team win and and and have a long career in New Orleans. It shows how how much faith they have in me. Uh how they believe in me, how how well I can fit. I’m not going to prove them wrong. So, I’m just glad that they had a lot of faith in me and um and trusted me. I’m super excited to finally be a Pelican and um getting ready to meet all the fans and and do a lot for New Orleans. This pick is actually on its way to the New Orleans Pelican
