Don’t Buy the Hype: Fade Rockets After Kevin Durant Trade – Magic & Timberwolves Are for Real
over the weekend. Kevin Durant is now
going to Houston to play for the Rockets. The Rockets were able
to ship out Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green, and a handful
of second round picks to bring
in the former MVP. Vaughn they’re plus 800
to win the NBA Finals. And for me, even
though Kevin Durant is a really impactful
player and a superstar, I don’t think he is that needle
mover that’s going to get them a NBA championship. I’d actually look further down
the board, a team that’s double their odds in the Denver
Nuggets, who has a more recent and a younger MVP
on their team, and a team that’s
going to have a much better identity at 16 to 1. Are you buying into this
Rockets hype with CeeDee, or are there other teams
that you’d rather bet on. Yeah, there are
certainly other teams I’m willing to put my money on
right now than the Rockets Brad I mean, Kevin Durant, he’s
legendary Hall of Famer, one of the best players
shooters of all time. But he’s a bench killer man. I mean, you look at the Nets.
You look at the Suns. These teams had no
benches when he was there because of how much it
takes to acquire him and to keep him on this roster. And for the Rockets I’m
looking at this team now man it’s Aaron
Holiday Cam Whitmore Atari Eason’s Jabari
Smith Junior could move to the bench now Steven Adams
it’s just not enough to win an NBA championship. In my opinion. He’s better set with the star
players as his other guys. Not a Fred VanVleet
or Alperen Sengun for example. So yeah, if you’re
looking for value man let’s talk Orlando Magic at 14
to 1 Minnesota Timberwolves at 14 to 1. Like Desmond Bane
moves the needle for me in a weakened
Eastern Conference where Orlando Magic
team that showed they took the Boston
Celtics to the brink there. And Paolo Banchero
MVP type caliber Timberwolves I mean
you’ve done everything but make an NBA Finals
appearance with Anthony Edwards so far. So yes, I like those two teams
rather than taking the Rockets. Love Kevin Durant. Love the the move, but don’t
think it’s an NBA championship. One important to note KD only
played 62 games last season as he continues to get
