Spurs De’Aaron Fox Trade Seems Inevitable

Spurs De’Aaron Fox Trade Seems Inevitable

What’s going on everyone? So the real thing that we got to keep our eye on is what are the Spurs going to do with Darren Fox, right? Dylan Harper, Stefan Castle, and Victor Wimyama are their core foundation for the future. I would even add in Carter Bryant, but there were several reports that like the Spurs look at those three guys as their building blocks as the the big three that can eventually overtake the league, right? Like those are their guys. So, the problem is that Dylan Harper is probably going to be best as a point guard, you know, in the Cade Cunningham type role, be that versal guard. Yes, he can play either guard spot, but at some point he’s going to need to make that transition to be the guy ball in his hands, making the plays and all that. The beauty of Stefan Castle is he’s so good at the dirty work, right? I think he works with anybody because like I talk about him in the wake of like a Jimmy Butler, right? Now, I’m not saying that he is Jimmy Butler or necessarily will ever be Jimmy Butler. Who knows? He might even end up being better one day. I don’t know, right? But in the sense of Jimmy Butler’s one of those stars that he doesn’t care about his stats, right? You see it all the time, right? Like sometimes you just look at the stats and you’re just like, dude, like Jimmy didn’t have a great game. But if you actually watch the game, dude, that guy was probably the best player on the basketball court, right? Because he’s impacting the game in so many ways, right? That’s where I see, you know, Stefan Castle where, hey, you need me to get you 20? I got you. No problem. I’ll go get you 20. Hey, you need me to get you 10, eight, and eight? No problem. I got you. Hey, need me to defend the best player on the other team and just do all the dirty work and get a second chance opportunities and dive for loose balls and all that stuff? No problem. Right? So, I really do think Stefan Castle is that kind of chameleonesesque type player that can blend in and mesh in wherever you need him to be. Right? But you look at Darren Fox and I understand people, you know, people’s arguments is like, well, the NBA is positionless. It is, but it’s also not, right? It’s positionless really two through four, but you also want size, right? The size is the positionless element of it, right? And the reason I say it’s kind of and only two through four is cuz teams still need a center, right? Like teams have tried to not do the center route and it doesn’t work. Like look at a team like the Lakers. Lakers Rudy Go Bear looked like prime Shaquille O’Neal against the Lakers because they didn’t have a center. You still need a center. That’s why every team in the league, no matter how positionless a small ball they go, they have a center. why teams like the Warriors now who essentially built the standard of positionless basketball have needed a center and have had centers over the years. I mean, you got to remember they had like Andrew Bogat and stuff like that, right? So, again, they they are teams still need a center and you still need a point guard. You still need a playmaker that can put it all together. If you didn’t, then Phoenix Suns would probably be have been the best team in all of basketball, right? But you need the defense. You need that point of attack guard, but you also need somebody that can put it all together, make sure everybody eats. You need somebody, and we are in the wake of that like, you know, versatile guard, right? The days of the Chris Paul are likely over, right? These these players are more kind of those combo guards, can make plays, right? Not all of them are great playmakers, right? Like there’s a difference between a guy that can make plays and a true playmaker. Like Chris Paul is a true playmaker. A lot of guys can make plays. A lot of guys go get five assists. It’s not the hard part. It’s just, you know, actually being able to control and dictate a game from a playmaking perspective, that’s very different, right? Um, but the other problem is too is like you’d be tiny, right? Compared to a lot of these teams you’re talking about, if you’re going to make it work with those three, talking De’arren Fox is your point guard. He’s also not a two guard. So, he has to be the point guard and a guy that’s has the ball in his hands. It doesn’t work. That’s why he has to be the point guard, right? So, you talk about him having to have the ball in his hands and be the point guard, which means Dylan Harper has to be the two, which could work. You know, have him be your kind of scoring guard, be aggressive offensively, and then he can kind of get his assist through like what the defense takes you, right? Okay, fine. But now, what is Dylan Harper? Is he the third option? Right. So, the your franchise guy that you believe could end up being, you know, a top five player in the league is going to be your third option for the next five years. Because you got to remember, De’Arren Fox is about to get a new contract. the the San Antonio Spurs are going to have to pay him, right? And they’re going to be paying him pretty hefty because his his contract right now is like almost just under 38 million. They’re gonna end up paying him, you know, in the heavily into the 40s, 50s, right? And so, you know, is that really what you want to do? And then now have Dylan Harper be your second or your third option because he’s not going to be an option over Wimi. He’s not going to be an option over Darren Fox. Darren Fox has the ball in his hands all game. So now Stefan Castle is your fourth option, which I think is fine. But yes, he’s 66 and on some nights, sure, he could probably slot it in at that at the the three spot, but you know, again, you’re small. I mean, you’re talking about, you know, De’ar Fox as your point guard, which, you know, he’s not like tiny, but he’s 6’3, right? So, you’re talking about 63 point guard, a 65, you know, uh, two guard, and then a 663 guard. And then you’re going to go up against teams like, you know, like Denver that is just mass like Aaron Gordon and now Cameron Johnson and Nicole Joic and then they have Jamal Murray and you know it’s just Christian Brown and all these guys, right? Like you start going up against these teams that just have size, right? Speaking of a team like the Lakers, like you know, Lakers have a bunch of like, you know, 68 wings and stuff, right? So now you got to defend those guys and match up against those guys, stuff like that. Like there’s just a lot of teams in the league that just have the size, right? Again, Oklahoma City, yes, they have a roster full of like 63 to 66 guards, but they’re all role guys outside of SGA, right? Like Jaylen Williams is like 67, right? You have, you know, uh SGA and then Chad Homegrren, you know, he’s seven feet or whatever, right? Like, so again, like all the guards are the role guys. Dylan Harper, uh De’arren Fox and Stfan Kessle are not going to be your role guys. You’re not looking for them to be role players. you’re looking for them to be your stars, be the guys that can carry the charge. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the that the Spurs have to trade De’arra Fox right now. It doesn’t mean that they have to necessarily, you know, they could sign him a new contract to trade him later on down the road, but it is something that I think is probably going to happen sooner or later, right? And I mean there look, there’s countless reports even about it like, hey, the Spurs are going to have to make the decision. I mean, there was a report recently that was like they look at again Stefan Castle, Dylan Harper, Indier and uh Victor Mama as their three main guys. There was no they weren’t talking about De’aran Fox in that conversation and look things change, right? The plan was man, we just got De’Arren Fox, you bring in De’aran Fox and now you have him and Victor Womenyama and start putting the pieces around them and then the lottery balls fell in your lap and you end up with the number two pick and Dylan Harper, right? If they would have ended up with even the number three pick, Darren Fox would have been fine cuz even like even if you kept the pick, right? Talking uh VJ Edgecom, right? He easily could have saw it into your three spot. So, it wouldn’t have changed anything, right? And then, you know, uh you just kind of like again circumstances, things happen. And that’s what you talked to Darren Fox about like, “Hey man, like look, we traded for you because we thought you were going to be the guy and we wanted you to be the guy, but you know, you’re going to be 28 two months into the season and all of our guys are 20, right? Like we don’t want like are we is it really makes sense for us to trade all these guys to for a shot when you we could just trade you to a team that is already set up and like where do you want to go?” And it’s not like the Spurs gave up a huge hall in order to get De’Aran Fox. They traded nothing. you could you could probably get scraps. It would probably be more than what you gave up for De’Aran Fox, right? So again, if you can turn him in place, I would look to turn De’Aran Fox into other positions of need, right? Like so you look at it, right? You got um Dylan Harper, Stefan Castle, right? Carter Bryant, and then Victor Whitman. That’s your four. Could you get like uh you know a Trey Murphy, you know, that that could slot in and be your four, right? He’s a guy that shown the ability to be to be a 20 plus point a game scorer. also he’s a guy that you know is young 24 years old so he kind of fits the timeline of this team right go can you go get somebody that can slot can you solve that other forward spot or even if it’s another three and maybe you’re moving um Carter Bryant into the four because again in that area right you can be a Swiss arm now you might be thinking well then you know why can’t Carter Bryant just play the four because again Carter Bryant’s 6’8 right like there’s a difference Carter Bryant’s 6’8 if he was 66 then again you wouldn’t have that versatility but he’s 6’8 right like That’s the difference. So, if you can have a a a Carter Bryant and then go solve another knee and get another wing, get another 68 to 610 guy, that’d be great. Now, you start having that foundation. Now, you start having that core, start rounding out your bench depth, start putting the things in in a direction to where you you can start in three years, you’re the best team in all of basketball, right? Like, cuz again, the the other option is you go all in. That’s the other option. the other option because it doesn’t make sense to keep Darren Fox and eventually Darren Fox is going to get tired of being on a team where you know he where they’re not winning again he’s not getting younger he’s only getting older right so then like what are you you’re going to trade for Jiannis on scoopo okay then you’re really all in right then you’re then you’re really all in and it doesn’t make sense to go trade like because I’ve seen people would trade Darren Fox for Giannis on Tukmpo right well the problem is that then yeah like you could do that let’s say y let’s say dearen fox was willing to go to uh Milwaukee Right. I mean, they just got Miles Turner, so you know, maybe he’d be open to that. But then it still doesn’t make sense to go get Yiannis and just wait around with all your young core. At that point, you’re even more allin than you were with Darren Fox cuz Yiannis is, you know, one of the two best players in all of basketball. A guy that has proven that he can go win an NBA championship. And oh yeah, by the way, like he’s older than De’Arren Fox. He’s 30, right? So it’s like again, no matter what, no matter how you shake it, you either got to stay the course and in that case go to De’ar Fox, flip him. Not saying again it doesn’t necessarily have to be this year, but you might also want to look to trade them this year so you don’t have to be the team that pays in the money and then you know it makes maybe makes it harder to trade them because teams are like do we really want to pay 50 million for De’Aran Fox, right? And you don’t want to let them walk for nothing. You want to get something for him. But anyway, as always, this is a discussion. I pass a question to you. The San Antonio Spurs traded for De’Aaron Fox and was supposed to be their point guard of the future but than Spurs landed The number 2 pick and Dylan Harper. Spurs now have a big 3 of Harper, Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. A De’Aaron Fox Trade seems inevitable at this point.

  1. Sochan is a prime core member & so is Fox… Castle will likely be heading up the bench crew… Remember, The Spurs pioneered the premise of Load Management. We are gonna need energy off the bench a lot like Manu did for so many years… Prime Fox is WAY better than Castle & Harper COMBINED! Carter will likely spend some time in Austin to be honest. I could see us stashing him to allow him to develop in the G-League for a while. This is Fox's team from a PG perspective for the foreseeable future. The Spurs like NOT to overwhelm rookies right off the bat…. Vic was the exception of course. Having Fox for the next 4 to 5 years (basically his prime) will allow us to develop the young talent in a more organic fashion. This franchise has never been about skipping steps and you should know that by now…

  2. Most people don't get how hard it is and is going to be to pay all the players. Fox is projected to sign 229M/4year deal. If this happens, can you even move him easily, does he become a negative value contract?

  3. Dead wrong! The only vets we have now is Barnes N that Celtics cebter we just got. Were not trading Swipa Fox. First of its bad Business Nthen future stars won't want to come here if they gonna get moved that fast. It already super bad enuff to get peo here aside from catz we draft or who R washed up Anyone remember when CP3 could landed here in his Prime but did not get hom til he was washed up? The guys were trading or getting rud of R Vassell, Malaki, N possibly Keldon if Harrison Ingram can take his spot. Swipa Fox until proven otherwise is our 2nd best player U also 4getting Wemby, Castle, N Harper R all on rookie contracts. Also which team stupid enuff to trade for him for a one year rental when get free agency? Lol

  4. Nah if harper becomes a elite pg, then you up fox value by playing within his game… then trade him for piece you need + picks. You keep the picks or trade those.

  5. Whether they renew Fox or not would determine if they can keep that promising core. Thats the truth. CBA is the enemy here

  6. They are not trading Fox. Fox is an established star and was obtained for a pack of Skittles. Harper and Castle were watching some SpongeBob a few years ago. They need to grow into their roles.

  7. We are not trading Fox! He is needed on this team! Those most effective/experienced pg on this team! Harper is a rookie and Castle is not consistent offensively. WTH

  8. Fox isn’t going anywhere. He’s actually the leader that this Spurs squad needs. I don’t think people have actually watched him play on a consistent bases. Adding Castle and Harper is very versatile and complimentary to the Spurs backcourt. That trio with Fox at the head will be dangerous once they build chemistry. You have a one two punch with Fox & Harper or you can defend with Fox & Castle. The combination of lineups is intriguing with Fox setting the pace. Spurs future is bright nevertheless.

  9. Well if you know this Fox has extension that coming up this year or in 2026 if he sign's it with the spurs they can keep him at the point guard and Stephon Castle can Slide to 3 (Small Forward) I don't anticipate The Spurs Trading him he is a top 8 to 10 Point Guard in the NBA plus that is the reason why they let Chris Paul Walk in Free Agency, maybe you as a personally don't think he is a fit on this team but I believe here is hear to stay He was trade here because he is from San Antonio after i send this message i will not listen to this scenario because I don't believe this content is real you made this up like you have a relationship with the Spurs FRONT Office, this trade is not Inevitable Just yesterday you were talking about the spurs trading for Giannis now this, just be honest with yourself this is your thoughts now the ORGANIZATION. I BELIEVE YOUR CONTENT IS FOR "Clicks" to stir up the pot for people to watch. eventually people will leave and unsubscribe # No Analyst from ESPN they are the true insiders to what will happen again these are your thoughts.

  10. AARON GORDON WAS TRADED TO THE THE BROOKLYN NETS FOR CAM JOHNSON THE 1ST DAY OF NBA FREE AGENCY # HAVE YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION ???????

  11. Dunnswood here. Enough with these conSPURicy theories. I don’t know if who is starting really matters. With the team currently, I think it’s an advantage to have depth like we do. We can switch it up every night if we wanted to. Also. Fox and Wemby haven’t had a full season for chemistry. Fox and Castle to start till Dylan is up to speed or let him run the second unit which is not lacking btw. That is all

  12. You're stretching too far for content… This isn't NBA 2K bro. This is real life.. Fox is a elite point guard. Why would you get rid of that especially if he says I'll take a pay cut… These draft picks are going to have to develop period maybe not so much harper but yes they still have to develop!!!

  13. Carter Bryant is not 6"8 6"6 1/2 with shoes off. They give you an inch of height Each level you go so from High School then College, to NBA THEY GIVE YOU Fake height. I personally talk to Jim Jackson years ago at the AIRPORT in Columbus ,Ohio dude told me this to my face I thought he was a GIANT I ASKED HIM WHERE WAS HE GOING AT THE TIME WHEN WAS DRAFTED 4TH BACK IN 90'S HE HELD OUT SO I WORKED FOR Delta AIRLINES and I ran into him he said he was on his way to DALLAS TO SIGN HIS AT THE TIME ROOKIE DEAL., I ASKED HIM HOW TALL ARE YOU HE SAID with shoes on he 6"6 with shoes off he was an inch Shorter, Ever since then I KNOW ATHLETES GET HEIGHT INDUCED AT THE LEVEL YOU PLAY ON.

  14. I honestly, think the only team that would agree would be the Wolves, Tried it on Trade machine the salaries match Fox and Sochan for Gobert and Conley. Spurs also return the 2031 1st that they made with the Wolves last year after drafting Dillingham. They get Gobert who is french which might appeal to Wemby since they both seem to have a great relationship. Conley would be a nice vet for Harper. Wolves do this and try to go all-in next season with Fox, Edwards and Randle the offense could be dynamic but, it could also be chaotic with the mouths to feed but, at this point the west is just to stacked to go back with thesame guys and expect thesame result. If Fox doesn't turn out then sign and trade for value if he does then extend him. Sochan is also a nice piece to have since Reid is a big that shoots Sochan could do the dirty. It just makes sense to me considering the wolves get back there own pick down the line spurs might loose out on Fox value but, having him on the roster might hinder there own internal development.

  15. How can you say Dylan Harper is part of a big 3. No one has seen him play in the NBA. That's sillyness.

  16. Maybe we should wait till Dylan Harper plays a few minutes in the NBA before we think he's ready to be better than D Fox.

  17. If anything we’re trading Vassel. We don’t need him now with Carter Bryant. Harper (1) Fox (2) Castle (3) Sochan (4) Wemby (5)

  18. I would keep Fox for at least another season, but I never would have traded for him in the first place, I would have gone for Cade
