With the 29th pick in the 2025 NBA draft the Charlotte Hornets selected Liam McNeeley from UConn
Height: 6’7
Postion: Forward
UCONN STATS:
14.5 ppg
6.0 rpg
2.3 apg
The Hornets had a very impressive draft night, which was highlighted by acquiring the 29th pick in a trade that sent Mark Williams packing his bags once again. With that pick, the Hornets selected Liam McNeeley, who became one of the main assets in the Williams deal. McNeeley was a projected lottery pick by some draft experts, which makes it incredible that he was still available at No. 29 when the Hornets’ pick came back around. The Hornets definitely were thrilled with that selection, and so was McNeeley himself as he spoke about his fit with the team. He is a very similar player to Kon Knueppel but he fits everything the Hornets are looking for in their “DNA.”

Lets go!!
Let’s go Hornets!! What a draft!!!
We got ballers!
I really love his off ball movement. He's never standing around and when he has to drive he can and finishes! If he goes to the g league, I hope he makes his way to the primary roster quickly!
