Dallas Mavericks (Cooper Flagg) vs San Antonio Spurs (Dylan Harper) | NBA 2K26 Rosters
Thanks for joining us on NBAurs. and Dallas’s Davis players are fired up. Thompson in action. He has the shot up in seconds. Fox the pass to Bell. The three from Barnes and the rebound goes to Dallas.
And he almost made them regret defending him so loosely. Thompson outside. And there’s the lob. Boy, he left it right in the sweet spot with the lob. Nicely done.
Oh man, take a look at that one. Just a textbook alley.
Beautifully done. He served it up on a platter.
Now here’s Wimyama. Yes. And a nice assist from Fox.
Yeah, you’ve got to worry about Wimbeyama everywhere. He puts a defense to the test. The three rebounded by Castle. San Antonio has gone one of two from three-point land so far.
Fox right side shoots over Thompson. Fox. That’s good. A 63 point guard. Fox has solid size at the one and it really helps him out inside. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline.
A bit ago, Jason Kidd and I were even with chat and they have to deal with one of the quickest guys in the league in De’Aran Fox. Coach told me it’s almost impossible to stay in front of De’aran. So, we’ll try to give whoever is guarding him help, especially if Fox gets rolling. We’ll see how that plan works.
Good job there, Ally. Thanks. Now, here’s Fox. Pass to Wimyama. Excellent D there from Lively.
Well, they know he can finish at the rim, but the defense did just enough to force the miss. And here’s Russell. from behind the ark.
Always a nice way to start. Makes his first one. A volume three-point shooter. The coaching staff encourages Russell to fire away. [Applause] A screen on Lively. Here’s Mimyama. Gets it to go. That makes him two for three in this game. I love this approach. Getting him involved early and it’s already paying off.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, his offensive contributions are going to be very important in this game. So, it’s good they’ve already got him in a rhythm.
And we’ve got a timeout from Jason Kid. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments. Just over two and a half minutes played here in the first. Lively against Wimyama to the left side wing. Thompson with a screen. Russell the pass to Lively. Just five to shoot. Puts it up from 15. Rebound by San Antonio.
When the defense is playing awfully like that, you want to be able to convert, but that time you just couldn’t get it done.
Dallas has gone two for four from range to start things off. left side. Russell unloads. He squares up and sinks it. Russell’s got five. Easy look when the defender isn’t fighting over the screen. Yeah, it’s certainly worth it to disrupt the offense. Coaches notice that extra effort.
Now here’s Fox. Here’s Mimyama. Rebound Anthony Davis. That’s a shot he’d like back. He’s usually going to make those. Despite entering his 30s, Anthony Davis is not slowing down, Greg. Yeah, BA. And last year, AD put up the best rebounding numbers of his career. And his shooting percentage also very high. And just watching him, Davis is still an allNBA caliber player capable of taking over on both ends. Now, here’s Fox inside. Here’s Castle and he dunks it down. And with this kind of vision, we could see the assist numbers go skyhigh for Wimyama. And so Thompson will bring it up for the Dallas Mavericks. Pass to Lively. Now here’s Russell [Applause] to the middle. Here’s Davis. Oh, a dunk and a foul. A powerhouse move. He’s got a chance for one more at the line. They’ll pin that one on Harrison Barnes. Dallas shooting their first free throw this game. Washington’s checked in for Dallas. That free throw good from Davis. Stan, one of the most impressive streaks in sports history, the San Antonio Spurs, one of the smallest markets in the NBA, making 22 consecutive playoffs. Yeah, and Brian, there’s nothing that I respect more than consistent success year after year. I think it’s harder than having that one great year. What San Antonio did in those years is incredible.
And they had a great sideline reporter out here, too. Good looking guy.
Nice open look, but it’s no good. Spurs trail by four. Fox surveying the D. Pass to Wimyama down low and the dunk by Wimyama. Well, Victor doesn’t have too far to go. I mean, he just pops up to the rim. Makes it look so easy.
And so Jason Kid calls for the timeout. He wants to review the game plan. Harper. He’s checked in for San Antonio. The Mavericks have gotten 50% of their shots to fall so far. They’re five of 10. Back to Russell. From deep again. The miss by Dallas. San Antonio’s gone one of two from three-point land so far. To the inside, Barnes. Pass to Castle. Wimyama. Screen on Thompson and it falls all over the rim and in. Castle’s got his second basket. You want to run your offense through him. A reliable scoring option. [Applause] We’ve got 155 left to play in the first. Outside Davis. Washington outside. Shot clock at six. Russell is screened on Vel. Washington again. The miss by Dallas. The Spurs have gone. Six of 11 so far. Pass to Wimyama for three. Rebound. Anthony Davis. And for Dallas, they’re shooting only 42% to get this one going. Gets the three ball to go. Thompson’s got eight with perfect mechanics, too. Klay Thompson’s jumper is a work of art, an all-time shooter. Here’s Barnes. Wimyama. Screen on Davis. Here’s Barnes. And Davis with the block. And it’s out of bounds to the Spurs as San Antonio retains possession. And that shot was going nowhere thanks to that aggressive swap. And this is exactly why he’s out here, in order to block shots in tight games like this. And the Mavericks with some changes. Gafford. He’s checked in for Lively. Marshall comes in for Davis. And Christie subbed in for Thompson. The shot by Sohan. No good. Dallas leading by three. 51 seconds left to play in the first. To the paint. Now here’s Russell. He’s guarded closely. Pass to Christie. pulls up. Marshall can’t hit. Spurs trail by three. Wimpyama with it. He’s guarded by Washington. Yep, that one goes. Nine points in the game.
It’s those kind of passes that bring up the entire team’s confidence. [Music] There’s 18 seconds left now in the first quarter. Here’s Christie. Pass to Russell. Off the mark from 16 ft. And so it’s Klay Thompson making highlights for the Mavericks. Eight points in the quarter, showing how effective he can be. Back to the game after this break. And if you’re just joining us, it’s been a pretty even game through the first quarter. And when you consider how Dallas is doing, guys, your thoughts? Well, it seems like they went in looking to do damage from long range and they face little resistance.
Yeah. And when you’re hitting threes early, that opens up the floor and really helps your offense. We’ve got Washington. Naji Marshall is out there with Daniel Gaffford and it’s Christy in at the two. So that’s who Dallas starts the second with. And coach, you’ve been lauded by some of your former players for your pregame preparation. I’ve seen it myself in the broadcasting world. Well, I’ve also been cursed by some of those players for my pregame walkthroughs, Brian. People thought they were way too long, but I just wanted to be as prepared as possible and was one that always believed I’d rather do too much than too little.
Yeah, he’s a fearless player. I mean, so not afraid to give up his body to give his team a better chance. [Applause] And now they lead as the free throw drops in for him. And it’s the Mavericks ball. [Applause] So covering Sohan with some nice D. And for the Spurs, they’re shooting 47% on this one. looking official. A moment to hear from Alli Leforce.
Brian, there’s a lot of room for growth for the Spurs. Even with their rising star, Victor Webbyama, who said, “I know it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to take some time before we contend for a title. I’m ready for anything and ready to sacrifice. I’m patient, but I’m not wasting time.” Brian, plenty of motivation.
Chasing greatness is what they’re doing. All Spurs lead by three. Pass to Fox. Here’s [Applause] Johnson from outside the ark. Gaffford grabs a miss.
Finding space on the perimeter, but he couldn’t capitalize. Marshall passes to Washington. Gafford with a screen on Fox. Knocks it loose. Covered by Johnson. No good with a layup. Fox outside. Inside. Harper passes to Fox. Christie with a rebound.
Suffocating defense to keep the layup from falling. Back to Washington. [Applause] Out of bounds. It’ll be Spurs ball. And one guy with a vested interest in Dallas tonight, Mark Cuban. Yeah, you better believe it. He’s been an incredible addition to this league in every way. Sometimes controversial, but that’s what pioneers are like. And he put the Mavs on the map from the time he appeared on the scene. Pass to Sohan. Here’s Champi. He’s guarded by Washington. Three-pointer. Fox drills it from deep. Fox has got five now. I like it. Setting up Fox that time. Getting him something in rhythm. Grant, you talk about De’Aran Fox. What an exciting player that he is and just now entering the prime years of his career. We’ve seen him make great strides the last few years and it’s scary trying to think just how much he can still improve.
Now here’s Fox rebounded by Marshall. [Applause] covered by Johnson. Pass to Gaffford to win the drought. Rebound by San Antonio. So got four rebounds now. And Harper gets it to go and it’s an eight-point San Antonio lead. No, just an easy reverse for him. He has nice feel and touch around the bucket. Gaffford with a screen on Johnson. The offensive rebound. The three from Washington. No luck on that one. San Antonio has gone one of two from deep in the second quarter. And Soan gets it to go. They’re using his size well and putting some muscle behind his play. That’s how Sohan gets to his shot inside.
And so Jason Kidd calls for the timeout. He’s going to gather the troops and talk it over. Heat. Heat. All right. [Applause] A big group substitution here for San Antonio whenas checked in for Sohan. Barnes comes in for Johnson. Vel he’s checked in for Champini and Castle subbed in for Harper. And a little under three and a half minutes elaps here in the second quarter. Pass to Marshall. Now here’s Williams. Here’s Davis. Nice touch by Davis inside. When Davis gets that kind of positioning inside, he is pretty much automatic. And it’s a Spurs ball. Big run right now for him. 112. [Applause] Barnes feeling it out a bit and he gets the friendly roll as that one goes and just executing at a high level. I mean taking what the defense allows and putting in the work. Yeah, come on. They’re just having their way out there and continuing to press the advantage. Washington shot is good.
Well, maybe not the shot they were looking for there, but the defense gave it to him and he knocked it down. Velc outside [Applause] Barnes and they call an illegal screen here. One of the trickier plays to judge, but it would be hard to argue against the call.
Yeah, and that’s maybe something that should be called more. We see a lot of moving screens in today’s NBA. Thompson, he’s checked in for Dallas. D’Angelo Russell comes in for Williams. Here’s Marshall. Still no points. Outside Davis. Pass to Russell. Lets it go from 11. And it’s in after a nice bounce off the right iron. You some guys just have a feel for how to score the ball. Russell is firmly in that group. [Applause] Fox left. Wimyama. Screen on Russell. And it’s Fox missing. Mavericks trail by five right now. Firing on all cylinders. Yeah, there’s a nice flow to this offense right now. Lively with a screen on Barnes. Davis pass to Lively and a slam dunk by Lively. With all the attention AD draws, if Davis moves the ball, good things will happen. San Antonio leading by three. Vel outside. Back to Fox. Fox lifts off and hammers it down. Even though he’s just 6′ three, Fox can really get up, including slamming it down in style.
Russell the pass to Lively. And here’s Davis 43. The rebound by Victor Womenyama. There’s a minute 54 left in the second. The three from Barnes. Yes. And a nice assist from Fox. And now it’s an eight-point San Antonio lead. Dallas has gone one of four from three-point land here in the second. Back to Russell. Beyond the arc. Davis showing his range and both teams running long range plays that are working.
Well, you know, it’s become a three-point shooting league. Teams shooting a steady diet from outside.
Now a timeout called by San Antonio. Heat. [Applause] Heat. So both teams changing it up here. We’ve got 123 left in the first half. Pass to Harper. Here’s Castle. Thompson with some nice D. And here’s Thompson. He’ll bring it up for Dallas. Right wing. The three from Russell. Barnes with the rebound. San Antonio leading by five. Pass to Vel with his first shot attempt. Rebound. Anthony Davis. Davis has got his fourth rebound in this one. Thompson outside. Davis with it. The three ball. Harper pulls it in. Harper’s got four rebounds now. Shot clock and game clock. 1 second differential. The Mavericks shooting just 38% for this game so far. The shot by Russell. No good. Pass to Barnes and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Hey, if you can’t block it, sending him to the line can be the next best thing. San Antonio shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. First free throw is good. No free throws good from Barnes. 7 seconds left in the second period. And here’s Thompson for three. Oh, it goes. He beat the buzzer. The NBA never ceases to amaze me. And the triple tightens this game up going into the break. Should be an exciting second half. And the first half comes to an end. We’ve got a close game going here. San Antonio on top, up four. And join us right back here after the break for the start of the second half. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] And after a fairly even first couple of quarters, this second half could turn out to be a great one as both teams trying to gain an edge. edge. And you know, Klay Thompson has been really making it happen, guys. Through the first two quarters and change, his perimeter shooting continues to be spot-on.
Yeah, he’s been locked in tonight. Through the first two quarters, he’s been a huge factor from outside. And you played for several different coaches with very different philosophies. Grant, did you have a favorite system?
Well, you know, VA, I did. I played 19 years, a number of different coaches, but the 8 seconds or less offense back when I was with the Suns as a player, you want to run. And honestly, it’s so much fun getting up and down the court like that. On the court for San Antonio, head forward, we’ll see Vel slot in next to Barnes. Castle is out there with the Aaron Fox. And it’s Winyama in at the center position. Spurs lead by six. move. [Applause] Pass to Barnes. Russell against Fox. Here’s Wimmanyama. Yes. And a nice assist from Fox. Wimbyama’s got 11 points. When Wimbeyama goes up, he can be so quick. I mean, the rookie looking very assertive. Down low. Here’s Davis. Oh, can’t out muscle Davis inside. In a tight game, they wanted to make sure of that possession. San Antonio’s gotten three of their seven threes to find the net in this matchup. [Applause] Vel outside. Fox for three. They grabbed their own miss. Wimyama so comfortable inside. Yeah, terrific follow through from Wimyama, proving he has a good head on his shoulders. Pass to Thompson. Davis from long range and that one goes. He’s now recorded his fifth bucket in eight tries. Rock solid screed right there. The defender got completely lost. Yeah, you’ve got to lock and trail hard. You can’t allow him a clean look from it.
Now here’s Vel yet to see a basket. Barnes, it’s good. And both teams running long range plays that are working
well. You know, it’s become a three-point shooting league. Teams shooting a steady diet from outside.
And so Jason Kent calls for the timeout. He wants to make sure everybody’s on the same page. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Not heat. Mavericks trail by eight outside. Russell left side. Davis off target from three-point range. He’s got to be mad at himself. You won’t get a better look than that. You know, Grant, you talk to scouts about Stefan Castle, they just feel like this guy’s a winner.
Well, certainly we saw that at Connecticut. Now, as a freshman, he was a key piece in their title run. He actually turned up his game in the tournament, and that’s rare for any freshman. And let’s send it over to Ally Leforce.
Hey, Brian. Deon Bell is progressing offensively. He said, “I feel like the game has slowed down just making the right reads. I know I can get to my spots. I just want to show that I’m an efficient scorer and a willing passer. I’m trying to be the best players I can be.
Yeah, love that work ethic, Ally. Thanks. Now here’s Barnes. He’s got 10. Pass to Fox. Now here’s Vel. Lets it go. And the rebound goes to the Mavericks. Lively’s got his fourth rebound in this one to the middle. Davis can’t hit. San Antonio leading by eight. Now Fox back to Vel to the inside. Here’s Wimmanyama. Bounces high off the rim and drops. Wimyama’s got 15.
And the offensive skills of Wimyama are a huge part of his high value and nice to see him delivering lively.
So it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. It’s going to be on Victor Wimmanyama. Man, the defender really went after him. Dallas shooting their second and third free throws tonight. Good. The free throw drops for Lively. Well, Stan, every franchise has their guy. What kind of things do you want your franchise player to exhibit? Well, Brian, here’s what people have to understand. The culture of your team is determined by your best player. If you want a hardworking, unselfish, competitive team, that best player, that franchise guy has to embody those things.
Stolen by Russell. He’s guarded by Barnes. [Applause] Lively with a screen on Barnes. Four on the clock. Nice assist and a nice finish. Solid play all the way around. Lively’s gotten his second bucket.
Putting that pass right in his stride. Didn’t have to slow up and was able to complete the play. The three from Barnes and the rebound goes to the Mavericks. Thompson with it. He’s got 11 over Fox. Rebounded by the Spurs. Wim Benyama’s got six rebounds here tonight. Fox outside. Three-pointer. Lively grabs the miss. Mavericks trail by seven with the step back. Thompson finds Russell. to the wing on the left. Thompson Thompson a screen on Barnes. That shot missing.
He’ll probably hear about that shot selection when he gets back to the bench. Maybe not their best option there.
Nails it from beyond the arc. You’re leaving him all alone. Good luck. He’s going to drill that every time. He’s guarded by Barnes. Barnes with the rebound.
Spurs lead by 10. Pass to Fox. [Applause] Outside Wimyama. This one for three. No good there. Dallas has gone one of four here in the third from Range. Thompson outside. Back to Russell. And here’s Davis. So covering, fires in the triple. He made the most of that opening, teaching the defense a lesson. San Antonio’s gone two of six from downtown here in the second half. Fox with a screen on Davis. [Music] So outside and they waste no time getting those three points back. So’s got seven points. Exchanging buckets from downtown. That’s been a staple of tonight’s game.
And sometimes you get in a shootout like this, but you just hope that you can get a stop first.
Now here’s So 10-point lead. This is their biggest of the game. He’s guarded by Barnes. Pass to Russell. Outside Davis. Here’s Thompson. Hey, now five for eight. Shooting a pretty good percentage right now.
Yeah, the complete package is AD had the defense’s attention and found the open man. clocks the pass to So takes a three and the rebound goes to Dallas. Well, the defense got lucky there. More often than not, he’s making that shot.
4 seconds separating the shot and game clocks on the wing. Davis lets the three fly. Victor Wimyama grabs the board. Wimyama’s got seven rebounds in the game. to the middle. So, and he can’t jam it through. You love to see guys challenge one another like that. Advantage to the defense that time. And so, the San Antonio Spurs finishing the quarter with an eight-point lead. Their defensive efforts have paid off, effectively shutting down the opposing offense. We’re coming right back. Don’t go anywhere. And it’s time now to bring you our State Farm assist of the game. And just a selfless decision from your two guard showing his ability to get his teammates good looks. Yeah, that’s great decision making and one that embodies a team first mindset. With three quarters behind us, let’s see what this fourth period holds in store. Washington and Gaffer, the combo inside. Then there’s Naji Marshall. Then there’s Caleb Martin. And it’s Christy in at the two. That’s the lineup in the game for Dallas. Now here’s Gaffford. pulls it. Marshall can’t hit. Outside Johnson. Pass to Fox over Washington. And the rebound goes to Dallas. Gafford’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Martin outside. Here’s Christie. Launches a three. Rebound by San Antonio. So got five rebounds tonight. And here’s Johnson. Fox the pass to Johnson inside. The shot no good. Nice D from Gaffford. They’ve been having major problems offensively. Definitely in a bit of a dry spell.
Did you guys see that? What an insane slam.
Yeah. And you got to have some hang time to pull that off. Fox the pass to Harper. Right side. Johnson stolen by Gford to the paint and he drops it in from the low post. Zero rim protection. Unforgivable in a tight ball game like this.
Yeah, there’s no excuse for giving that out. That’s the absolute last. Now here’s Johnson. San Antonio again can’t hit Johnson against Washington. [Applause] And we’re about 2 minutes into the fourth here. [Applause] Five on the clock. Christie passes to Washington. Shoots over Johnson. Here’s Christie. Pass to Marshall. Fires from deep. Rebounded by Johnson. And so it’s Johnson with it. He brings it up for the San Antonio Spurs. They have yet to score here in the fourth. And I love the physical play from Sohan inside. Mixing it up with the defense and drawing the foul.
All right, guys. Let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for San Antonio.
Well, they’ve really been sharing the basketball. All coaches talk about that, try to get their teams to do it. It’s really great when you see it in action.
They’ve also been showing us standout play on the fast break. Working as a team to create easy opportunities. Anthony Davis, he’s checked in for Dallas. And San Antonio with a change here, too. Castle’s checked in for Champenny. So, one for two that time at the strike. Not perfect, but does the important work to make it a two possession.
Anthony Davis gone up top. And you love how effortless Davis makes this look. Rising up for an alleyoop like it’s nothing. The Spurs call time. It may be a player’s league, but the coaches obviously play a big part as well.
And this is when a coach earns his paycheck. Analyze the situation and give your players the information they need to succeed. [Applause] Okay. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. A different look for Dallas. Lively, he’s checked in for Gafford. Klay Thompson comes in for Christy. And D’Angelo Russell subbed in for Marshall. And let’s swing it over to the sideline and hear from Ally.
I was able to hear the Spurs coach going over their plan during the break. With the game so close, he wanted his team to stay aggressive, saying, “Don’t be a watcher, be an actor. Go out and make something happen on the court. Don’t let it come to you.
Okay. Thank you, Ally. Here’s Castle. Played it in with a nice touch off the window. Yeah, great find from Sohan. This is why his guys like playing with him. Mavericks trail by five. Third minute of action now gone here in the fourth. Thompson outside from the arc.
Oh, and Clay makes that three look so easy. That’s a clutch shot by a big time shooter. And where’s the D? Here’s Fox. Stolen by Thompson to the wing right side. Outside. Russell to take the lead. That’s in there. Davis with the assist. Davis has got three assists now in this one. The Spurs have gone one of four since the fourth quarter began. Pass to Fox down low. Here’s Johnson and it’s going to be a 3second call.
Sometimes the action speeds up on you a little too much. Two teammates not on the same wavelength there
for San Antonio. Victor Wmanyama comes in for Johnson and Harrison Barnes is subbed in for Harper. They’ve been taking care of business, especially at the offensive end where they’ve been totally in sync. This is when your interior D has to be on high alert. Spurs trail by three. Pass to Castle. Lemanyama high post shoots over Lively and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. Yeah, such a difficult frame to guard. Wimyama draws the foul easily.
And let’s take a moment here to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for the Mavericks.
Well, they’ve been absolutely on fire from deep. And until the defense offers more resistance, the coaches are going to keep encouraging them to let it fly.
Yeah. Another thing you notice are all the assists, the ball just has energy and everyone is getting involved. The Spurs making a switch here. Vel’s checked in. And both free throws good for Wimyama and he’s shown a great touch at the line. They’ve tested the big guy, but he’s come through.
Davis the pass to Lively inside. Here’s Thompson. Rebounded by Castle.
I think he got the shot he wanted inside, but somewhere on the play, he just lost focus.
To the paint. Here’s Fox. Good work defensively by Russell and Dallas with possession. They’re on a 14 to five run. Thompson outside. And he loves it up top. There’s the three. A rebound by the Spurs. fires at the elbow and it’s Fox missing. I know he’s on a cold streak, but he can’t let that get in his head. Yeah, they might want to draw something up here to get him something at the rim or get him to the free throw line. Sometimes that’s all it takes to snap a cold streak.
Now, here’s Davis again. The miss by Dallas.
Yeah, there’s no reason for the defense to get out on him right now. Just let him keep taking that shot until he shows him he’s going to knock it down.
Pass to Castle. Launches it. Buries it from three.
Castle’s got five points now this quarter. Talk about stepping up. I mean, that is a huge three-pointer. Well, guys who can make big shots at the end of games have become a necessity. Now, here’s Thompson. He’s off on the layup. Vel outside to the middle. Here’s Limyama. Oh, the body control and balance from Wimi. No fear in this young man. We’re already getting a sense of Wimbeyama’s killer instinct. And here’s Russell to halt the run. Given that one now shooting five for 11 from the floor. And Russell loves to remind us that he has ice in his veins. Big time bucket to the inside. It’s stolen by Lively. It’s stolen by Barnes. Vel outside three-pointer. Lively grabs the miss. Riley’s got rebound number eight here already in the game. Thompson scanning the floor. Pass to Davis outside for Russell. Six to shoot over Fox. Oh, he nails it. There is absolutely no fear in his eyes. He loves the moment. Yeah, and I can say from experience, his coach just breathed a huge sigh of relief.
The Spurs call time. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] 52 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Fox finds Wimyama. Yeah, this young man is pretty steady at the line. can get this done. He drops the first one and that ties this game up. And with the 8ft wingspan of Wimpyama, it feels like he releases the ball halfway to the bucket. And so he’s good on both free throws and that gives him a lead.
Yeah, he’s a guy you want at the line and clearly not affected by the moment.
And so Jason Kidd calls for the timeout. Critical moment here. He’s not taking any chances. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] There’s 45 seconds left in the fourth. Here’s Russell and it goes as the official calls the foul. Count it. And he’ll shoot one more at the line. Those and one plays can be real back breakers in a close game. 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. It falls. A huge shot to tie it up. Someone who embraces big moments. Dear Fox, huge points. Pass to Russell. Rebound by San Antonio. The Spurs call time. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat up here. [Applause] And it’s a Spurs ball. Here’s Castle [Applause] to the middle. Here’s Liamyama. Count it. And so Jason Kidd calls for the timeout. Great time to call his guys into the huddle at a very tense moment in this game. And looking at the options here, what do you think is being discussed? I don’t know if they should be greedy here and go for a three. I’d take it to the basket, get a high percentage shot, or maybe get fouled. Oh my god. That’s right. [Applause] And here’s Thompson for three. Oh, the all or nothing shot attempt falls offline. And so it’s San Antonio who scraped by with the win. And this was an emotional win for them. No doubt about it.
Just a fantastic accomplishment. You love how they just diffuse the energy in this arena.
All right, now let’s check in with Ally Leforce. Ally, what do you have?
Harrison, we saw some hot shooting for you. Did you have a sense coming in that you were poised for a performance like this? uh you know, just trying to let it fly. You know, that’s been a big message our coach has been trying to preach to us. Uh the coaching staff really is just play loose, play free. Uh go out there and have some fun. And that’s what we did tonight.
You have the green light. Thanks, Harrison.
All right, Ally. Thank you. And that’ll wrap it up, folks. For Stan Van Gundy, Grant Hill, and Ally Leforce, I’m Brian Anderson, thanking you for watching the NBA, presented by 2K Sports. And now time for our player of the game, Victor Wimyama.
