Hawks Sign Luke Kennard To A 1-Year, $11M Deal

Luke Canard is going to Atlanta. Yes, I actually love this deal. One year 11 million deal for a guy who can be a treasurerary, right? Treasurerary, you know, a third facilitator, a marksman from downtown. This is another white boy sniper. And I’m not talking about the one that you’ve been seeing on the news lately. God, that was a terrible joke. Either way, I digress. This Atlanta Hawks team might be a bonafide contender. Dare I say Trey Young MVP season inbound. They have Trey Young, Dyson Daniels, Zachary Reese, Jaylen Johnson, Kristoff Porzingis, Anaka Okongu, Asa Newuel, V Creeche, Nquille Alexander Walker, Luke Canard, Kobe Buffin, Mo Gay, Dayquan Plowen. They’re probably going to bring back Larry Nance and hopefully Katon Wallace and Garrison Matthews. Look, this is Luke Canard is a guy who still is one of the better shooters in the NBA this past season. And he’s a guy who nine points, 48% from the field, three rebounds, three assists a game. Past few seasons, he had a career high of 16 points per game in his last season with Detroit. But he’s really a guy who averages 11 points at most. And for him to be somebody who’s going to be coming secondary, and the fact that they also got themselves Nquille Alexander Walker makes this outrageous. By the way, the Atlanta Hawks are the winners of the offseason so far. I’m about to tweet that right now. Atlanta Hawks are the free NBA free agency winners so far. That’s that’s a fact. I don’t think anybody else can agree with that. Disagree. They’ve just been absolutely amazing with everything that they’ve done and the fact that they’ve gotten all this value for players that I don’t know. To me, I’m I’m enjoying all of this, watching some of the like some of the things that we’re seeing with this Hawks like roster is a lot of shooting, a lot of two-way, a lot of length. Like everybody’s 6’5 and above. It feels like everybody can play both ends of the floor and compete. like Lukard and Kil Alexander Walker. Like Lukanard, I know he’s white and everything, but he’s still an above average defender and he’s someone who’s going to help, you know, your team play winning basketball. So, the the Hawks signing Luke Canard, I think, is just one of those deals where Luke Canard getting himself a deal where it’s $11 million. Man, that’s that’s good value. because instead of going and he did this last year where he signed a one-year deal, let’s do it. And I think it’s a it’s the way you should be approaching this part of his career where he’s just maximizing his dollar and that’s by taking one year deal after another. And I think that might be just how people are going to go ahead. We’ll talk more about this in the Hawks breakdown.
