So following the signing of DeAndre Eaton this off season, the Lakers might not be done yet this off season in regards to finding a replacement for Dorian Finny Smith who left of course to the Houston Rockets and leaves a bit of a hole for them at the wing position. So if they want to go after a pretty solid wing and the asking price in this situation isn’t anything crazy, I think Herb Jones could be one a very realistic target for the Los Angeles Lakers to consider, but also two a pretty solid fit especially on the defensive side of the basketball. So, Herb Jones, offensively speaking, doesn’t bring like a lot to the table. Um, he’d be a pretty similar player to what they kind of have already in this lineup, but defensively speaking, he’s a pretty awesome player. Plus, he is a younger option as well for them. So, if they want to kind of build more of a depth approach this off season, get back some good wings to kind of support uh Luca, DeAndre Aton, Austin Reeves, as well as LeBron James, I think Herb Jones could be a tremendous fit, like defensively speaking, kind of make up for some of the matchups that Luca maybe would struggle at. And he could honestly be a pretty cool player without having to have the ball in his hands too often uh to be super successful as well as happy. So, I think from a basketball perspective, this makes a ton of sense, as well as the asking price for him in this case isn’t really that high. Now, from the Pelicans perspective, I truthfully probably wouldn’t do this deal. Now, the Pelicans front office has made some questionable moves uh since Joe Mars Joe Dumar and the crew took over. So, anything can really happen with this group, but I think it’s probably in their best interest to hold on to Herb Jones. Maybe a team out there later on in the season puts together a better offer. Like, keep in mind as well, he’s in his mid20s. He’s defensively pretty talented and he could be pretty valuable to a lot of teams out there, especially those that are championship contenders. So, in my personal opinion, this would be a win for the Los Angeles Lakers. But as always, leave your thoughts.
