Chicago Bulls Fans Just Got DOUBLE Dose Of MAJOR News…

[Music] What’s going on everybody? Welcome into the Bulls Report. My name is Patrick Seman and coming up on today’s show, we’re going to be talking about the latest trade rumors around center Nicole Vuvich and why a potential deal to the Golden State Warriors could be dead and also we got some big time news on Modis Buselis. He looks absolutely jacked. He’s been in the gym this offseason. So, we’ll share with you guys a couple of photos there. But first off, I want to get the pulse of the audience here real quick. Today, I’m going be posting a video around the Chicago Bulls almost every single day during the offseason. So, hit that subscribe button if you guys don’t want to miss anything around your Chicago Bulls. All right. All right. So, could a vouch trade be dead? So, apparently coming in from NBA insider Jake Fiser, he thinks a Vu trade to the Warriors could not happen and he’s sliding off the Warriors radar. Now, there are some other teams that we’ll talk about that could be interested in Nicole Vuch trade. But here first on the Warriors front coming in from Fischer saying the Warriors though appear to have moved away from past trade interest they previously registered in veteran B center Nicole Vuchovic which might have helped spark something this summer uh this summer. And I think on the Vouch front here for the Bulls, I think it’s more likely than not that he just plays his contract out cuz clearly this Bulls organization, they have some high hopes for Vu and what he can bring to this team this upcoming season. And I just think he’s going to play this out. He’s got one year left for $20 million. Now, maybe when the trade deadline rolls around, a contending team, view as a piece that could get them over the top without committing to him long term since they would be on an expiring deal. But I think it’s more likely than not that VH is the center for the Bulls for the entire season. He’ll go average his, you know, 17 and 11, play no defense at all, but he will probably be a bull for the remainder of this upcoming season. But also for people asking on a potential Nicov signing trade with Jonathan Kaminga, because still we’re hearing reports that the Bulls could be interested in a Jonathan Kaminga signing trade. The only way that would work is if you sign Kaminga to a $40 million per year contract because the team taking in a contract for a signing trade. It has to be exactly half of that deal. It can’t be any more than that. So Vu making $21 million. That deal would have to be 40 plus million to acquire Jonathan Kaminga in a signing trade. So that makes no sense. The only way the Bulls could potentially get Kaminga in a deal like that is if it’s like Kobe White or IO Dumo. Both those guys making 112 million. and then you give Kaminga $25 million over like three, four years, that’s the only way it gets done. But in terms of Vu, there’s no way that’s possible. And you know, Vu, if I was uh, you know, pitching my argument to another team to trade for him, I would just say, hey, this guy, he plays almost every single game. He’s a walk-in double double. You know, he’ll go averages 18 and 10 for you. Pretty efficient from beyond the arc this past season, shooting 40%. Um, but again, we know his lapses defensively. He can’t guard anybody in the pick and roll. And still the NBA, even though it’s more of a, you know, we’re seeing teams more have like a free flowing offense where it’s five out, it’s all about beating guys off the dribble, getting them in rotation, spraying out the open shooters, like still teams run a lot of high pick and roll and you just pull Vu up in that and you can just beat him off the dribble. I mean, there’s a reason why Stacy King, he’s got switch of Vuch as a saying because so many times this past season, teams will say, “Hey Vu, come on up here. We’ll get you on an island. Our guard will create and attack you.” and then the whole defense just collapses after that. And plus, he can’t protect the rim at all. So, even though the numbers look good, averaging 18 and 10, I still think he’s a net negative out there on the basketball court. But, where else could he go? If it’s not the Golden State Warriors, I think the top two teams are likely. And the three teams could just be dark horses. The Boston Celtics, they lost Porzingis this offseason. We heard that maybe a BC Anthony Simons trade could be in the works. So, maybe Boston, but also Indiana. They lost Miles Turner to the Milwaukee Bucks. They end up throwing him a bag and maybe the Pacers would want to just maintain the ship a little bit this upcoming season with no Turner. Hal Burton out. You just get that center who can go get you 18 and 10 on any given night. I don’t hate the idea of BH going to Indiana. Now, if the Bulls could get second round pick for BH, I think you take it from the Pacers, but maybe the Charlotte Hornets. They just traded Nerkach. They don’t really have a center on the roster besides Ryan Cochrunner who they took at the top of the second round. And then also Portland Trailblazers just bought out DeAndre Aiden. Now yes they have Donovan Klingan. Um but maybe they want to run a little double big look this upcoming year with an offensive minded big and BCH defensive minded big and Donovan Klingan. And then the Miami Heat. We were getting reports from Brett Seagull early on this offseason that they could be interested in BHC. I really don’t see that. Maybe Pat Riley and Eric Spolcha could see like a Bam Bch front court. You know again offensive minded guy, defensive minded guy. Maybe they like that combination there. But if I’m the Bulls, I’m trading Vu for whatever you can get. If you can get a second round pick, I say you take it. And I actually think the Bulls like their center rotation as a whole, you would be able to maintain with no VOC in the lineup. Like you would just throw in Zack Collins or Jaylen Smith. I don’t really think the falloff would be that extreme from Vouch to these two guys. And plus, I would like to see Jaylen Smith play more. Even though he was pretty disappointing after signing that three-year deal with the Bulls this past season, he really didn’t play too much. So, I would like to see him get more touches there. just get more minutes, higher usage rate, and then Zack Collins was actually pretty damn good after he was traded to the Bulls uh during the season this past year. All right, so I want to talk about Buzzellis here to round out today’s show and why he’s sort of embracing and becoming the face of the franchise for the Bulls. Now, I love this. He was actually rocking a Connor Badar jersey walking to a game this season. So, the young stars of Chicago showing each other love. He was also hanging out with Kale Williams this past summer. They were hitting the Heisman pose together. Um, so clearly he is engulfed in the city and you love to see stuff like that. And also, he was actually seen showing Noah Si around the United Center. Now, a lot of these uh teams like they have their first or second round picks. They come into the organization, you have your face of the franchise kind of show them around. Like for the Warriors, for example, they would have Steph Curry show their rookies around. You know, the Lakers would have Luca, like the Knicks would have Jaylen Brunson. But for the Bulls, it’s Modest Wisella showing these young cats around. So, I think him taking on that leadership role already after just only playing one season, playing 18 minutes a game, I think it’s clear that the Bulls, you know, whole organization is viewing this guy as a potential face of the franchise. Now, talking about him looking jacked, Buzzellis posted this on his Instagram story the other day saying, “Oh, God.” And his arms look absolutely huge. Like, this was a guy who was coming in looking pretty frail in the NBA, but clearly he has been in the gym. And that’s huge for him because I’ve talked about him, you know, just being a better rim attacker. A lot of that has to come with just, you know, getting your body right, having more grown man strength. He can push people off. So, I love the fact that he’s in the gym. But, I do want to share with you guys some advanced numbers here from Bzelis. I actually was uh shocked that his catch and shoot three-point percentage was um above 35%, 36. That’s not bad. I’ll take that. Hopefully, that ends up being around 40 uh when he’s at the prime of his career. Pull a midi field goal percentage though. This is something he’s gonna add have to add to his game because shooting that at only 23 and a half percent if he has that in between game where he’s coming downhill off that pick and roll. If he can either get to that pull-up jumper or go attack the rim which he’s so good at, that would be huge. And then also attacking the rim pretty damn good. He had that floater going a little bit last year. Obviously know he’s trying to dunk everything when he’s going to the basket. So 56.2% there is fantastic. But I thought this was pretty interesting. He’s a way better left corner three-point shooter than a right corner three-point shooter, which does make sense for righties, you know, because if you are in the right corner and the ball’s coming up in your right hand, you’re kind of cut off by the side of the backboard. But if you’re in the left corner turning the other way, you have the whole rim, the whole other side of the court to your dominant uh shooting hand. So, that makes a lot of sense there. That’s normally a trend we see with righties um in terms of corner threes. But also, his net ratings this past season, he had a 112 offensive rating and a 113 defensive rating. So, overall was a negative of 1.8. eight. Not really too concerned about that. Obviously, Bulls weren’t a good team this past season. And uh you know, when he really started playing, it was after the Lavine trade, so just the talent on the Bulls was not as extreme. But I would anticipate Buzzelis being a anchor to one of the better defenses in the league at the prime of his career. But we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out. But let me ask you guys this. Who’s your pro comp for Modest Buselis? I got two. I think defensively, and we’ll do a full show about this this weekend. Defensively, he reminds me of Evan Mobley. Very switchable guy. super long, athletic, and then offensively he kind of reminds you of France Vagner. Um, he has a great handle, six foot 10. Now, is he the playmaker that Fran is? Not yet in his NBA career. He also isn’t the shooter that Fran is. Um, especially in the mid-range, even though Frano struggles from beyond the arc.
