Reacting to Michael Porter Jr being traded for Cam Johnson | Bruce Brown is Back!
[Music] Get [Music] it. Oh my god. In the off season.
Oh my goodness, man. I can’t get my feet out of time. I can’t.
What is everybody? Welcome to Denver Parker live by your front range course Toyota. The official vehicle of DVDR, your Denver mag. right when it was looking dark somehow clawed their way out of a corner and made a trade that we’re all very excited about. We’re going to talk about it. So much news. This is the most news we’ve gotten in a really long time. I’m excited to break it all down. Harrison wins here.
And what’s crazy is for the first hour of the wash along, we had zero news.
Kale ate the dead fish. Random jelly beans. Kale ate a dead fish. But then things picked up and I think we’re back.
We are. We are back over here. Dline co. Guys, I’m back.
I’m back. I’m back. Listen, this is the first good news we’ve gotten in a really long time. I don’t even know how to process it. I had to I don’t know if you noticed. I had to change my shirt.
Did you really? I actually didn’t notice.
Look at that shirt. Wow.
Just sweat through my last one.
Did you really,
bro?
It’s really hot in here. It’s really hot in here. Yeah. Yeah. It wasn’t that the nuggets made all these move and my frankly my glands weren’t ready.
Man, I hope we get another breaking news during the show. That would be incredible. You’re addicted. Rounding out the I am addicted. I need it again. Rounding out the show. Bren vote.
And they might not be done. They might not be done. A deal that opened up some money. Opened up some possibilities. We have a lot to talk about for once. And I just
I know, man. We’ve had nothing to talk about so long.
All of a sudden, it feels I mean, anyone who wanted something different and new next year got their wish in a way we did not see coming. I’d like to congratulate the front office on a proper okkey do on all of us there on the we’re not going to do anything which they said essentially verbatim.
I love that
many times.
Well, they might not have lied.
They’ve hired one free a they’ve hired one free agent. There’s two open spots. They could hire two be three free agents, one trade,
but they said we’re probably not going to do any trades.
That’s what they totally said. It’s a massive trade.
Is it more likely to be active in free agency than the trade market? I mean, I wonder like is this a deal that came together recently? Uh either way,
I kind of doubt it. Either way, it’s it’s a great great great landing from the Porter contract.
Well, if you’re getting your news here for the first time, you haven’t heard it, we might as well recap what that news is. The Denver Nuggets on in the first hour and a half of free agency, about an hour and a half into free agency, they made a trade and a piece of their core. Michael Porter Jr. along with the 2032 unprotected first round pick. That’s a long ways away, but it is a very valuable asset or will be in a decade. That is going to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson, somebody we’ve long wanted to be part of the Denver Nuggets roster. They also added Bruce Brown as a veteran minimum addition in free agency. And it marks the end of one era, the beginning of another, and in some ways, we use this word a lot, in some ways, a rebirth of a new look starting lineup. We’ve been saying it a lot.
We’ve been saying it a lot. Uh I’ll go to you first wind. Your immediate reaction or I shouldn’t say immediate. That’s live. You can see on our watch along, but you’ve digested this for 45 minutes now. What are you thinking?
I’m so impressed with how the Nuggets pulled off this Michael Porter Jr. trade.
I think we should probably start there. We’ll definitely talk about Bruce Brown. But Cam Johnson is always one of the guys that we thought about would be an as an ideal trade return for Michael Porter Jr.
You know, they play the same position, they’re around the same size, they have a somewhat similar skill set. It always felt like a really clean fit. But like after the trade deadline, when we heard the Nuggets thought about trading Michael Porter then and didn’t, there were really no rumblings of that this off season so far. And to pull off such a clean trade like this is is honestly amazing. I think this is a great deal. I think that you can make the case Cam Johnson is a better player than Michael Porter Jr. I really think you can make that case. Porter does have some things to his game. The rebounding, he’s a little taller. He’s h he has the big game experience for sure. Cam has a little of that too. But I think if you’re just comparing them pound-for-pound to me, Cam Johnson is a better player. He’s a smart player. He’s a high IQ guy. He’s a guy that’s going to fit great in the locker room. I think Yoke is going to love playing with him. And he’s like Porter, a great catch and shoot knockdown shooter. So you do give up the first round pick in the future. I you right now you can’t really care about that. Denver,
I’m setting an alert from seven years from now to be upset about that.
The the thing is you had that in your arsenal if you were gonna make a big trade. This to me is something that qualifies as as a trade to use it for. And um
that’s exactly it.
I think it’s a great trade for the Nuggets. I’m I’m very happy right now. If you could look at it as some sort of porter trade could maybe get you a return or you could just try to get off a bunch of a money and start over with the cap sheet and build some depth. This is the best of both worlds. Cam Johnson is at bare minimum an approximate replacement for Porter in terms of like it’s not a fundamental role change. You know, this is a guy that is very comfortable standing in the corner.
Yeah. This is a guy who who I think knows how to be a third or fourth or fifth option even at times. And so fundamentally, no, I don’t think a lot has to change for the starting five. I don’t think Cam Johnson has to alter the way he plays. Even if you don’t think he’s a better player, it allowed them more room in the margins, which is where we feel like series are being won and lost right now. And you know, Denver already having Bruce to Avette Min and saving some money there is in a better position to flesh out the rest of the roster right now in this free agency period. So, in that from that sense, it’s a it’s a slam dunk. And I say that as the biggest Porter supporter on the show, it’s a slam dunk. It’s a very soft landing. I don’t think you have to reset and look at this as a as a gap year. And I think in fact, you you made it easier to build out the rest of the roster. So, as far as a first move, a loud arrival on the scene from Ben Tenzer and John Wallace, it’s a job very well done. Real quick, I just want to say one thing about what you said here, which is that it there shouldn’t be a long transition period. And I think that’s underrated. If you get a Tobias Harris, who’s kind of like Michael Porter, he’s still different enough that you look at it and say, “Okay, but they’re going to have to figure out how he plays.” I don’t think you have that with Cam Johnson. I really don’t. I mean, plugandplay is one of my least favorite overused like phrases in sports. But I think he is kind of plugandplay in terms of like you do what Michael Porter did. You can’t really find another guy who’s more plugandplay than Cam Johnson for this role.
So, I’m excited. I am so impressed. I am so impressed by what the front office just did. I vote said it perfectly. It’s like you would expect that in years past it would be like, well, this is looking to be the contract is just kind of debilitating. We have to move on this off of this contract. we’re going to have to attach a pick and you know maybe we don’t even get a player back or maybe we get you know a much lesser return. The fact that they got a guy that you can look at as a guy that at least is in my mind better the same similar he’s a player. They got an absolute player back. They got a a guy that you would look at even just in a vacuum and be like I would like to that guy to play for the Denver Nuggets. And the amount of money that they saved themselves like is just I I mean I’m shell shocked. I cannot believe they pulled off this trade. It’s it’s incredible. Like I just am so impressed by the by the front office so far. And that’s for me it’s like this trade is one thing. I’m loving the direction. But like in one moment to me I’m like wow that’s a great trade. The Nuggets are good. Wow we got Bruce Brown. That’s really cool. Holy f, our front office is dope. There’s like seven things working right now and like my dopamine me like I I think I actually went too far with it and now I don’t even know how down a little.
No, I don’t even know like I I went the other side. I burned out all my pleasure receptors.
Oh no, that’s tough. I think but you you raised what I think is a really good point. One I mean this is very exciting for the Nuggets. We’re going to get a lot to that. But this front office that took a long time to hire 70s something days you know it’s two first timers. Ben Tenzer, who was not the assistant GM, John Wallace, who was not really on the radar, and it happened the day before the draft. It was very unsettling. And so you wondered, what can they do to pull this off one week into their jobs? They had their introductory press conference last Tuesday.
Yep.
It’s Monday. And to pull this move off to me, it’s just so impressive. Not because they came in and took a big swing. This is a smart deal. It’s so smart and it’s so deaf.
It’s just very, very smart. and for them to be able to pull it off and have the table set. And I will tell you, you know, obviously we go eat just a few little minor communications here. I think the organization also feels good about themselves. And I don’t mean that because they pulled off a move. I think that they like the process that it took to get here. And to me, that’s an exciting thing, you know, that not just that you got something done, but that there they have a confidence that there’s a coherence and a process that led them to a very good deal. And here you find them on this day, the first day of free agency. The Nuggets feel like the big winners. Absolutely, man. And that even seems like the feeling around the league. You know, there’s been a lot of moves today, but the Nuggets got significantly better today. It seems like, and they did that by one trade and one signing, and there could be more coming.
I hope there are more coming. It’d be a waste, right, if there’s not cuz I still think, you know, they lost like they turned Porter. They made a great Porter trade. They still lost Porter. So, you’re adding Cam, but you lost Porter. You’ve added Bruce, but you still lost Russ. I mean, they’re still at 6 and a half.
Yeah.
Guys, we’d like that to be seven and a half, eight. So, 100% agree. 100% agree.
But, yeah, to me, I look at it as like I think Cam Johnson’s a better player than Porter. Not that much better, but better. And I think Bruce Brown’s a better player for the Nuggets than Russell Westbrook. Again, not a one, not a 50% better player, but a marginally better player. And I think both those guys fit better with this team as it’s currently constructed. I think both those guys that the Nuggets brought in will fit better in the locker room than Porter and Russ. I I just think that like if you look at it from that perspective, they definitely got better. And but I do agree you you do need one more guy. It feels like
uh at least one and they have two open spots. We’ll talk about what this move not only does it work part when you’re saying it’s a deaf move. It’s because it wins on multiple levels. It’d be one thing if it won on just like yeah it was good. That’s what they needed to do. But it cost them over here. What it cost them was a draft pick,
you know, and obviously Michael Porter, but you’re swapping them out. It cost them a draft pick, but it gave them an enormous amount of flexibility. And that this is also a huge financial savings. Not that I’m excited about I don’t say that because I’m excited about the crocki saving money. It’s the flexibility. This new collective bargaining agreement. It’s all about how what weapons do you have at your disposal and the Nuggets open up a bunch of things at their disposal to where now they can continue to add including by the way via sign and trade which was not available to them prior. Now they can sign and trade for a free agent which might be a thing you need to do to get off of a Dario or some of these other guys. So to me, this was an incred This was a win on multiple levels for the Nuggets. And more than important than anything is the actual onc court performance. Cam Johnson to me,
if I’m going to make my first bold prediction, I think he’s going to be like Christian Brown, like Aaron Gordon in how seamless they work with Nico. Joic, he said this of KCP, he says this AG, he says this to Christian Brown. They’re where they’re supposed to be always. I think Cam Johnson is going to be another guy that is where he’s supposed to be always with the ability to knock down the shots when they come to him. I think this is going to be Yolk’s favorite team that he’s played on just in terms of process. He they want a championship. I don’t want to take anything away until you win another one. I don’t want to take anything away from that. But I think in terms of like does this team move to the rhythm that Yoke wants everyone to move to? I think I have more confidence in that five now than I have even in the previous one as good as it was.
They’re smarter.
They’re smarter. That’s one thing
that’s inarguable. Like Cam Johnson is a high IQ offball player. I think Porter
got better at some of that as the years went on. But just feel for the game for a guy who who just like missed his college season and then missed the start to his NBA career and then came in as as like of in a defined role. He just never developed into that kind of a player. What maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn’t have, right? the the IQ might have always been an issue, but all the same, it’s just Cam John’s a very very smart player and in a playoff series sometimes it’s about making the right choice as much as it is hitting an open shot and came a guy who does a little of both of that. So
they got smarter. I think they still added like my big concern was Porter was the only shooter that anyone would guard without the ball and that rock. I think Cam Johnson’s a guy you have to guard without the ball.
Absolutely.
So I it’s it’s a it’s just a great outcome. I really think so.
Yeah. Well, and and just quickly like, you know, even thinking about like what they gave up the pick in seven years, they didn’t have a pick this year, right? And they were able to maneuver in a different way. It’s not like you can’t make things happen if you don’t have a first round draft pick. It’s like in seven years perhaps they’ll they can make trades. So, it’s like I just love I I love the creativity. I just love, you know, we’re just coming off of um a couple eras. felt like where we didn’t always like there were a lot of like oops we messed up trades that we made where it was like we had to make the trade to make up for a mistake that had happened
previously and it’s like you know as much as Michael Porter Jr. I love him as a player and I love what he’s brought to the Denver Nuggets. Like I don’t think anybody would argue that he like his contract was too big for what it is we were able to get. Um, and it could be argued that Jamal’s is too. And it’s like, but to be able to get off of one of those and get back into the to the place where it’s like we can have conversations about how to fill this roster in around Nicola goddamn Yic. Like, that’s all that matters. And to get this guy and then have the maneuverability to make more happen. Like, I also just love that it’s a guy we’ve talked about before. We’ve coveted for a long time.
We have coveted.
We’ve coveted. We got to take a break. We’re late. We got to take a break. But on the other side, we also have our first quote from Cam Johnson since the trade. We’ll get to that on the other side.
Oh, man. He said, uh, what? All the nuggets are good. Yeah, Mike. Yeah, Cam. It doesn’t have the same.

All righty, we are back here. Segment two. The other piece of this, Bruce Brown
on a veteran minimum. He went out, made his 40 million in the last two years. He wins a championship for the Nuggets, goes out and gets 40 million. He’s back on a one-year vet minimum deal according to Sam Aik. Uh just an incredible reunion. Man, this was the one deal we kind of all felt was just going to happen. We joked the whole time it was a lock.
That it was and it felt like a lock.
That the deal was done. Maybe it was.
Maybe it was.
Turns out it was a lock.
It turns out it might have been done.
And we wanted it as much for vibes as much as anything. I mean, he fills a need. The Nuggets need more ball handling. They need more shoot two-way players. He’s a two-way player. And the versatility he brings is so important in a playoffs because you need guys that can fill multiple roles. Oh, we need a small forward. Throw in Bruce Brown. Oh, we need a ball handler. Throw out Bruce Brown. We need a small ball power forward. You know what? F it. Throw out Bruce Brown. Put him out there. Get
Shay Alexander. Shay’s face, dude.
Yeah, just get out there and and do his thing. And then on top of that,
call him lud dork to his face.
What point you just made, Vote, about Cam Johnson coming in and not needing a lot of ramp up time for a team to figure it out. Well, Bruce Brown knows how to play here.
That’s a good point. at a very high level
and and he knows what it looks like when they’re doing things the right way, what it looks like when they’re doing things the wrong way. I think it should be said I think it should be said that Bruce obviously left Denver and had a rough couple of seasons in the NBA.
Yeah,
he really did.
You think he got a little wakeup call like, “Oh, this is what the NBA is like?”
No, I don’t. I think he knew exactly what it was.
Oh, I maybe both.
He’s like, “I’m going to Toronto trying to but but so poorly that now he falls back in a vet minimum.” And I think that’s kind of a fair way to describe him right now, unless he reunlocks what he had in Denver. He finds that kind of vibe again, that fit again, the juice, and then all of a sudden it’s just one of the best deals in the NBA again. So, we there’s no guarantee Bruce shoots well.
Uh, you know, Bruce, I think, had a more choppy regular season than people remember before the playoffs.
Sure.
Yeah.
But this is a guy that we know can work here. He’s versatile. wants to be here, knows what winning here is about, and I think when you it’s one thing to have gotten him for the exception, but to get him for the minimum after the Porter trade, which again, part of a big part of why we’re excited is that there’s another move to be made here. So, it’s really exciting.
There’s a big move. It’s really exciting. And I’m glad Bruce Brown saw the light. Not that he ever lost sight of it for a second. He wanted to come back this second.
I honestly think he’s played the last three years perfectly. the cheap deal in Denver.
Win a title, cash in, go get paid. Now back to Denver on this one year that feels very uh hey, maybe get another payday. Exactly. And
I mean, I hope so. I hope that’s exactly how this plays out.
But the other thing is that like Bruce Brown is now coming back to Denver like that. He went to Indiana and it was like they paid big money and they had big expect. It worked for Indiana though because they used it to get scaly.
But my my point being is that there were, you know, it’s the the expectation versus reality thing. It’s like he didn’t play to the level of that contract. Bruce Brown, even then when you move it on to Toronto, they’re expecting to get a guy that is worth the 25 million or whatever he was making per year. And it’s like you get you come back
and you’re we’re expecting him to just be the glue guy. Yeah.
That is a a role he can exceed at. We don’t he doesn’t need to do anything outside of what it is we we know he can already do. So to me it’s like I it’s yeah my guy
I know I this is going to sound like a contrarian I think Bruce fulfilled his contract. He was hired by Indiana for flexibility which they used to get Seakum. Then Toronto used him to get Brandon Ingram. Not a move I love but it was the lever they needed to be able to make that deal happen. So he he was signed in similar ways to how Ze Naji was signed. Like oh we’re going to get this guy and we’re going to make him tradable. Only he actually was.
Yeah. Here’s the thing about Bruce Brown. I had him as my number one free agent target for the Nuggets. Yeah. Not because he was the best player, the quoteunquote best player that could be attainable for Denver, but because he’s the best fit for the Nuggets. Yeah.
And I think Bruce Brown is a guy who, yeah, he hasn’t been that good the last couple years. Well, he hasn’t been on very good teams. And Bruce Brown’s the type of role player that needs to play with other stars, that needs to play with other great offensive options in a good system. And that’s the same player he was before he got to Denver in 2023 and win a championship. I think he’s still that same guy. I think he’s going to fit like a glove, obviously. And he’s going to look maybe not as good as he looked in the playoffs on the way to the championship. He’s a couple years older now, but I think he’s going to look a whole hell of a lot better than he did these last couple years while he was toying away on a a mediocre Pacers team, a bad Pelicans team, and a bad Raptors team. He’s just a guy that plays up to his teammates, and he knows how to play with Yoke. He knows how to play with Jamal. And his intangibles, honestly, are what this team might need the most right now. Yes, he’s going to bring defense. Yes, I think he can hit clutch shots. He did that two years ago on the way to the championship. Yes, he can get to the rim and attack, which you really need after losing Russell Westbrook, but in the locker room culturally, I love the culture.
The glue aspects to a team that Bruce Brown will bring, the Nuggets need a guy like that. And and look, this locker room could still be a little fragile next season. Like, I think it’s I think it’s healing. Well, they still have a lot of the same guys. Like I I think the Nuggets are healing, but I still think you need a guy like Bruce Brown to bring everybody together and and that’s what he’ll do.
But see, the only reason I’m pushing back on that is I actually think the Nuggets have very few cultural concerns at the moment. I think they’ve got a lot of guys that are just sort of natural buyin guys. Like I think Michael Porter
I think Michael Porter had to sacrifice a lot and we appreciated that he sacrificed a lot because in his he came in as the number one prospect albeit with injuries and he had to give that up to buy in. Cam Johnson doesn’t. I don’t think Cam Johnson has to sacrifice next year because I think he wants to be a role player in the corner. Yep.
And I think Bruce Brown, we know that he wants to do whatever role is asked of him, play whatever position he’s going to be a dog. I just look at the Nuggets roster right now and I do think it’s incomplete. We’ll talk about that here in a second. But I just think that they have a lot of guys that are willing to sacrifice, but also it wouldn’t be considered sacrifice by them to do the jobs that are being asked of them, right? No, they have a team.
Yeah.
They like are constructing a team. It’s like uh you know sometimes you see front offices like manage like the Suns have been doing I love going to the Suns and just being like bro you guys are putting together fantasy squad like this doesn’t make sense like none of these players actually fit together
and the Nuggets are not doing that they uh again like I just cannot lo enough of praise upon the front office like for you know we didn’t know what to expect obviously you know we were talking about like oh man the optics of just hiring from within and bringing back a guy that was here taking so long to do it. It just looks terrible. It really looks like they’re just going about it this in a half-hearted way. But for the first move that for this front office to have made to be this like this seismic this
uh I’ll use the word deft again. Like it just it makes me feel like
okay we’re in good hands. These are smart people. So I there’s just like 17 ways that I’m feeling like we are so effing back. We’re back. fired up. Um, I like both of these guys. And the Nuggets aren’t done. Here’s the last thing, and we’re going to get more to this on the other side. Well, actually, first, let me give you the quote. This is coming from Mark Spears, uh, apparently an interview with Cam Johnson on Anscape. Not the juiciest quote, but he says, “I’m excited. I get an opportunity to compete with some of the league’s best. What more can I ask for?” Good quote.
Good quote.
Yeah, good quote.
That was a glue quote.
I was hoping he was going to say, “I’m going to play with the best creator in the NBA.” close.
My favorite player of all time.
I’ve heard the podcasts out there are top notch.
There’s just such a great fan base.
I love the city. I love the city.
One thing about Cam Johnson that you that you hope changes.
I don’t think Cam Johnson has played in more than 66 games in a season in his career.
Yeah, that’s true.
And somehow in the last two years, Porter became Yeah, he’s actually the one of the best iron men in the NBA. extremely played 81 games, only missed the 82nd cuz he didn’t have the right shoes. Then he played 77 games last year despite having um a hamstring strain. And of course, we know he played in the in all those playoff games as well, despite the the shoulder injury. So, Porter, a guy who who turned into someone who stayed on the floor
u obviously with that exception of 2021. So, Cam has to stay on the floor. That’s one thing. Y,
you know, I I think it’s a little again, I don’t think it’s just, oh, Porter’s cam now and now they’re considerably better. I mean, I think it’s the combination of that they got off the money as well. So, I’m still very eager to see what they do cuz to me it was about that. I thought that five was good enough. Um, I think this five is good enough, but it also allows them to flush out an eight. And so, that’s that’s what I’m I’m holding my breath for.
Yeah. Uh, I I like it’s it’s also just new. And I I mean I do think the Nuggets kind of needed new and as much as we’ve enjoyed this core and we’ve never wanted to break up the core. I mean for nine years, however long it’s been, we’ve never wanted to it felt weird to talk about it. I do think we all arrived at a place where it felt like it was time and so Michael Porter is the piece that falls and uh you know the return on is interesting. Let’s take a break still to get to on the show. The flexibility that’s opened and what Denver has still left to accomplish in free agent. This is just the first couple hours of free agency. There’s still more they have to do. So, how are they going to uh use the money they just opened up from this deal? We’ll talk about that on the other side.
Hawks getting active. Luke Canard to Atlanta. It will not be with Luke Canard. Guys, check out Mando. Mando is a men’s deodorant brand that’s hyperfocused on keeping every single aspect of a man’s body smelling fresh and clean. They have a lot of great smelling scents like bourbon leather, clover woods, Mount Fuji, and Pros Sport, and Mando. It’s the full body deodorant that you just didn’t know you needed. What’s really cool about it, it it was created by a doctor who saw firsthand how normal BO was being misdiagnosed and mistreated. That’s why that doctor developed those scents. They developed a deodorant that keeps you smelling better than soap does. Clinically proven 12 hours after a shower, the average man’s grundle odor was a level five out of 10. I don’t know if you knew that, Dline. I did.

Oh my god.
They’re like, “What do you think about the MPJ trade?” Also, I’ll be over around five. Yeah. Like, what kind of flashing are we going to use under those? All right.
So, the Nuggets now have two roster spots open. They could, of course, uh trade or buy out or any of these other things. I will tell you right now, according to our friend of the show, Jakecoin, aka the Stat Squatch, the Nuggets have about 11.5 million under the first apron. Not so this is where not only did they make this move, it actually got them below the apron,
which could
we never Well, we won a championship, so this doesn’t really matter, but we never win the offseason like this
so far.
I know.
More work to be done, though. But they have 11.5 million under the apron. They could open much more space if they were to buy out Dario Sarich. So, they could even do that. 11.5 is a lot of money. We were over here trying to figure out MLE’s and vet minimums and this or that. They now have 11.5 million to work with, which to me, you can get a good player for 11.5 million.
Yeah. And to me, clearly the best player out there for the Nuggets is Al Horford.
That’s what I think too. He’s
that’s my guy.
The guy that you look at and say, man, if they got out Horford,
I’d be in.
Holy [ __ ] Write the report. most the most similar to Joic while also being a veteran
and just the best big man out there.
Al Horford is good. He was really good last year.
He’s been good even though he’s old. Like the shooting, the IQ, the IQ, man. Like Cam Johnson, smart player. Bruce Brown, smart player. We just saw two really smart teams battle in the finals. We talked about it for the last couple months. High IQ players are, in my opinion, and I think a lot of your opinions, the maybe the number one skill you need to have if you’re going to play minutes in the playoffs on a contender. I would always look to add those type of guys. Al Horford, he’s definitely under that category. Yes, that yes. Um I would hope that ownership now too, like these are some of the things we talked about. This is like half of the half of the battle. So now instead of hurdling towards the second apron, as of right now, you’re below the first. So, and you haven’t had to go into the second apron and you did win a title. Can you then maybe buy Shardich out now? You know, it’s not as
Yeah, if you’re not going to go into the tax, use that money and buy shout out
and you’ll get another deal in Europe. So, you probably won’t even have to give him that much. By the way, the repeater tax is a concern. So if this is the year you’re going younger to your point, why not spend the money down the road?
Spend money on that cuz you’ve s you’ve kicked that can down the road which saves you far more money. So yeah, like saving money is awesome if it becomes spent money. Right. Sort of how
Exactly. Right. Yeah. Like if the the if this was just uh the Crockis are like, “Ah, sick. We’re going to go buy another player in Arsenal.” That’s not cool.
But if this turns into like the I mean could it turn into two of the guys that we’re after? character Torian Prince and uh you know I don’t know either Al Horford or Yabu Sal or any of these guys that are just out there. I mean like they’re really the your your mind just kind of starts spinning because you just kind of see you see some of the numbers that guys in this range are going for and it’s like 9 million a year. It’s like it’s like not so far-fetched to think that you could open up enough money to get several of your targets now.
Yeah. Uh, by the way, Luke Canard signed for an 11 million oneyear 11 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks. So, you know, it’s so funny that two hours ago we we called it par if the Nuggets were to like overpay for Luke Canard.
How foolish were we?
Such a better such a better outcome. We’re not familiar with their game.
How I hate all us. Low expectations, no vision.
Yeah. Um,
but that just means you’re happier when stuff like this happens.
So true. Yeah. So, the Nuggets have some flexibility here. I do think that they need a backup center. If there was a position now, forget player, if there’s a position, they don’t have one. They don’t have one at the moment. You’re counting on Don Holmes coming off of an Achilles and having never played
outside of the is it the Atlantic 10 that Dayton’s in? I don’t remember what conference that that one is.
I don’t know.
Uh let alone the NBA. You’re talking about Zeke Naji. So, they have to have a body. I mean, you hope you can find the best one, but it has to be in my opinion a center. So, I think they’re definitely they’re they’re definitely trying to get somebody else right now because if they weren’t, they would have just resigned DeAndre Jordan,
right?
So, the fact that that doesn’t h hasn’t happened yet.
I can also just confirm that.
Yeah,
they they there are more moves to be made.
The fact that that hasn’t happened signals that yeah, they have stuff out there to other guys. and getting Bruce, getting Cam Johnson. You definitely think the guy they covet is somebody who can play in the front court at backup center and maybe some four as well.
Yeah,
Al Horford would be awesome for me. Al Horford.
Yeah.
As a name, just a center. Uh I don’t know if that you need to use the exception there. And again, now they have the full non-t taxpayer bid level right now available to them. They can if they are going to end up going into that first apron again, but they have 11.5 million which is without going into that which is also a lot of money.
So yeah, I think Horford’s intriguing. Some other names to me
like I would still be intrigued by Jordan Clarkson to be honest. Clarkson Clarkson, Yaboo, and Horford to me are the names that I’m wondering.
Yelli is is another name to probably watch. He’s a guy who’s at the top of like the best available big men list.
Yeah.
Yeah. I’m wor I mean that’s your guy D. want to share why you think he’d be good here?
I just saw how that guy is way more versatile than you expect. Like he really can play a very competent five just because he’s so he’s huge. He’s like he’s got like his backside
is a big he’s he’s he’s thick. He’s got two C’s thick like and he can shoot. He can really shoot that thing. I was just very impressed by him in the the Olympics like not only just um you know being able to knock down shots or whatever holding his own against LeBron James and not only holding his own like absolutely like decimating LeBron James dunking over him like he showed a lot of fight um and I just a lot of tenacity and I saw him do the same thing for the Sixers like the I know the 76ers do not want to lose him like they he’s a guy that they actually he was like their one bright spot in like an absolute nightmare season last here. Um, so there wasn’t a lot of attention paid to the Sixers. So, but all the while like he was putting up good numbers and playing really well and playing, you know, complimentary basketball. And I just think he’s the exact kind of player that you want on a squad.
I think they might need some height and size, especially when you look at the West gearing up. Houston, you know, two true centers, three with Capella, Adams, and Shangon. Those are three truly big guys. But it’s like uh Don Holmes could match up like if if they start to mix match mix lineups where you have different big guys out on any given time like Yabiselli is big enough that he can keep guys out of the paint like he’s able to get
I like your other guy more though even Larry Nance Jr. now because very possible we’re talking about the money that’s opened up now he’s a very possible player and he would be a guy that would get me excited.
Do you guys want to hear just some centers available?
Sure.
That are free agents. Yeah, let’s hear.
I’ll try to go best to worst here.
Okay.
Miles Turner, I don’t think that’s
out of the priceange.
DeAndre Aton, you think that’s out of the price range? You think he’s just going to the Lakers, especially after they miss out on Brook Lopez?
He did just get bought out for $30 million.
Yeah.
You know how much you have to hate a guy to buy out that one? That’s insane.
That’s honestly insane. That’s insane that they were like, “You know what? We’re going to give you $30 million to get off our team.”
That’s insane. So, Miles Turner, DeAndre Aton, those two guys at the top of the list. That guy sucks though. Don’t get him anywhere. We’re just talking about the culture.
Yeah, vibes might be too good for DeAndre right now.
Uh, Al Horford, you know, next up on that list probably. Mo Vagner is a free agent.
I like Mo Vagner. I actually, bro, no way.
Um, Mason Plumbley. Thomas Bryant.
Oh, that could work in Denver.
The ghost center. The list kind of dropped off.
Dropped it. Dropped off hard there. after that. Jericho Sims, Alex L. I don’t know if those guys are really worth it. It should not be signed by another.
If you’re looking at power forwards available.
Yeah, let’s do that. Let me see if I can talk myself into somebody playing out of position.
Chris Buché, we’ve talked a lot about him. Yeah, but that’s like a that’s not a that’s there’s no way.
Why not?
Cuz he weighs like 30 pounds.
Well, I Okay. Yeah, he’s
No, there’s no way he could play out of position.
Yeah, we’re going to make him our backup. Larry Larry Jr. kind of that same.
Yeah, but he’s like I think
he’s stout.
Yeah, he is stouter.
Yeah, he’s stout.
Marvin Baggley, not really a fan personally. Precious Aua. I like him. I don’t know if he’s that good.
He’s fine.
Um Isaiah Jackson [Laughter] and Gershon Yabiselli who we just touched on. That’s thin, man.
The list kind of drops off after that. So the best attainable options it feels like maybe Al Horford Yabiselli Larry Nance that might be your top.
I mean listen well also
they need one of those guys. Joel is available.
Yeah
Jo Land was bought out. Um
Oh yeah. Didn’t even make my list.
No that I mean listen like
has he played since that game against Jokic? No. Uh but the point is is that like you could get you could also get a serviceable center that’s not like a that’s literally just a big guy that defense. You get a Mason
Plumbley. That is an option. I I mean a Plumley to me even makes more sense because he’s been here and he knows this. But here’s the thing. Let’s think about Denver starting five. I think is great. I think it’s really great.
You go now to Payton Watson, Julian Strawther, Bruce Brown, Jaylen Picket, Zeke Naji, uh Don Holmes. Of those guys, who are you most confident is going to have a role and succeed at that role?
Probably Bruce. What guys?
It’s the entire non-starters of the of the writers.
Bruce for sure. Yeah. Yeah.
I uh I’m a consensus.
I’m in on um it’s probably Bruce, but I’m I don’t I expect big things from Strathther this year to be honest. I really do. Like I I I think he’s going to make a pretty big leap honestly. Like,
well, he needs to cuz by like eating past some of the advanced metrics, he was the worst player in the NBA last year. Yeah. No, he I mean, listen, I and he was injured and this that I just I saw I saw confidence in him come out in the playoffs, which is like where you kind of see who guys actually are and which is like what turns me off on certain players like when this the lights become bright and you’re like, “Oh, yeah.” No. Um to me, it’s like I So, I think
but you’re asking me who am I most sure is going to play that role. It’s like, of course, it’s Bruce Brown. Of course. Uh, but then who’s next, though? So, even if we give that vote, who’s the next solid guy? Cuz as much as we like these guys, still a lot of questions around all of them.
Yeah. I don’t know. That’s I It’s nice that there’s just at least bodies, but it’s still there’s still question marks is Yeah. how I look at it for sure.
I think if you look at this, I personally like I mean, obviously I’m a fan of Picket and I like the idea of Picket and Bruce together because I think it gives you I think they actually fit together. One thing about Picket really good defensively. If you just thought of him as a defensive player, if you told me Picket, Bruce, Payton are three are three guys that are on the court at all times. That’s three good defenders in your one through three slot. So, I kind of like that. Um, is it offensively? It might be kind of rough, but I but at least I kind of like it. I think that if they’re going to go with Picket, you’re going to need to get a big that really makes sense, but you might have to address both. If you’re not sold on pick it, then you have to split the difference and find a center and a point guard. Another baller. I don’t think Mike Scott reporting the Nuggets are one of the teams that is interested in Al Horford. There are a lot though
and it’s the contenders, the Celtics, the Warriors, the Knicks, and the Cavs. But I think
if they pull off an Al Horford deal, I I swear to God this might streaking down cold right now in rush hour. some money to right now compared to some of those other guys in the second years. He might like if we’re talking about the difference between seven and $9 million he might just be like I kind of want to be there or you know he can pick his
and also getting older and may leave Boston and lose the devil black magic he harness there. That’s a possibility as well but it certainly he’s a player
but it trust me man I know but uh it certainly is a better option than I think
just assuming Don Holmes will get it done. I’m I’m calling it now. If they got him to me, it would be as perfect an offseason as you could have hoped for given the circumstances. Incredible.
I think I would look at that and say they have
and then Joic will sign that extension.
Oh man. Oh man.
Or they’ll trade him
or he might not.
That would be incredible. Should we talk about Mike?
Let’s do it.
Let’s do it. We said this on the live show. It was the most memorable moment of the draft I think of the entire Yokic era was when they picked Michael Porter Jr. cuz it was so out of the blue
and it was so exciting yet also so nerve-wracking
and that to me defines his uh his tenure here. He was one of the guys. He was one of the core. We started dreaming about a Denver Nuggets championship probably before he got here but not much before. And really the entire dream was with him, you know, as a big part of it. And they did it. They pulled it off. And they pulled it off in large part. He is the uh is he number two all time in three-pointers in Denver Nuggets franchise history? I think only behind Jamal Murray,
I believe. So,
um
I think we’re gonna look back very fondly on Michael Porter. Whatever you thought of him, I think at the end of the day, we’ll talk about him being an incredible shooter, an interesting personality, and part of the best core that we’ve in Denver Nuggets history.
It’s also not all like it’s such a weird thing. He he’s this high prospect, then he slides because of the injuries, then he’s drafted to a team that needs to help win right away, then he gets overpaid. So, he’s just a guy that was almost impossible at any point to talk, I think, super honestly about or or or accurately about. And in like he was not a Max player. He was not He did in That’s really why people are don’t like him.
He did in six years with the Denver Nuggets with two back surgeries in that tenure. averaged 16 points per game on 50% um shooting and 40% from three. Like that’s it’s not something to sneeze at, man. He was a major major major contributor. And if he if look, they took the gamble that he wouldn’t need the third surgery. And I’m telling you that guy in 2020 that averaged 19 points a game and shot 44% from three on seven attempts per game, that guy was going to be an absolute monster. They didn’t get him. They did get the championship. and they don’t get that if Porter doesn’t work as hard as he did to stay available. So ultimately they stole him in the draft. There’s a sin in overpaying him. But what does it leave you with? Well, they got one. And did it handcuff them? No, they’ve actually turned him into Cam Johnson. So ultimately, I think this is a really good outcome for Porter Story here in Denver. And you know, I hope and also he goes to Brooklyn, guys. So I hope he averages like 25 points a game. He won’t, but I hope he just shoots the cover off the ball in Brooklyn. it won’t affect what Denver’s trying to get done and I hope Mike succeeds and I hope and I think he will be remembered as a champion here in Denver.
The other thing about him, he’s number one all time in effective field goal percentage in Nuggets franchise history. Most efficient jump shooter or really just scorer in Nuggets history because he didn’t take that many shots and he was pretty effective.
Number three in true shooting percentage.
Yeah, I mean I’ll remember the Michael Porter era extremely fondly. How how could you not? And I think the more time that passes, people will think higher and higher of him. Um, and just what he did in Denver. I just always have to give so much credit to his mentality to come back from one back surgery after another after another. I know I couldn’t do it,
you know, totally. just the rehab, the patience, the pain that you have to go through, you know, when when you endure the injuries that he did. And to still be as good of a player as he was is honestly incredible. and the sacrifices that he had to make.
Um, kind of honing his game and really crafting it to fit as well as he could next to Nicole Joic and Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon and whoever else he was on the floor with. Um, to do what the Nuggets asked him to do because yeah, I mean, for sure, Michael Porter probably wanted to spread his wings. he probably wanted to cook a little more than he did here in Denver, but he sacrificed and that was the theme of, you know, the Nuggets up until that championship and during that championship run. So, um, yeah, legendary Nugget, absolutely legendary Nugget. And, uh, he’ll be an alltime here. He’ll be an alltimer here for a while. By the way, meaningful that he’s going to a team coached by Jordie Fernandez, somebody who has coached him before, right? Yeah. Because that that’s a war room that said, “Yes, right.
No, I know that guy. Go for it.”
Here’s something else that’s funny.
Did you guys follow what the Brooklyn Nets did in the draft?
Five passers.
They picked five guys who can’t shoot and just pass. Maybe they had an inkling this trade was coming.
It’s hilarious. Yeah. For me, it’s like um you know, it started the way that Adam mentioned it’s with just such it felt like we lucked into him, but also it was the biggest unknown. I mean, obviously a huge the the most uh literal lottery pick you could have. You don’t even know if the guy’s ever going to be able to play. Like he he basically went up and shook the commissioner of the NBA’s hand wearing a back brace hidden by a
a vest. Yeah. Um he was passed up by a bunch of teams because the medical reports were not good. The Nuggets were very very fortunate that he slid to them, but it wasn’t a sure thing. It never was. Um and it took time to come to fruition. Like the Nuggets had to be patient with him and it absolutely paid off. And it’s like this is the type of thing in sports that you like to see. You don’t like these sort of like soulless Frankenstein capitalistdriven nonsense teams that are put together just picking up scraps. It’s like the Nuggets grew something from very humble beginnings and they were able to see it through. Michael Porter Jr. a massive part of it. Um it was incredible to be on this ride with him and you know all you can do is say thanks. Um you know and I it it I think the timing is actually pretty perfect for everybody involved. Um it allows the Nuggets to continue their story. puts Mike in a position where he’s able to play um and and get real minutes and could be a real contributor on a team, be able to like kind of solidify his legacy a little bit more. And in the end, like everybody wins and Michael Porter Jr. is a legend. We’ll never forget him. And um you know, it’s just it’s it’s kind of a beautiful story. Truly.
Yeah.
Also him playing in the playoffs this season after the shoulder injury. Well, and not only that, but like think about the year that he had with his family,
his brothers, his Yes. And then he injured his shoulder.
He was bad in the playoffs. No doubt. But
the guts that it took to do that when like nine times out of 10 that guy just says, “I’m too hurt to play.” is is admirable.
And his playoffs last year ended on a horrible note against Minnesota game seven where he was horrible. Um his playoffs last year, he averaged 16 points per game. Shot about 40% from three. Like he was really good in the playoffs last year. He was great against the Lakers. as a third option. He was very good. That’s life sometimes. But unfortunately, what we will remember are game seven
against the Wolves and then this this Thunder series, at least in the immediate immediate moment. But I think with time, what we will remember is the one and only banner hanging above Ballerina.
Uh one center off the market, Mason Plumbley to Charlotte. Back to Charlotte. Okay,
there you go.
Thank god.
Was that a There you go. Uh, we’re going to probably do this tomorrow. Talk about some of our favorite Mike moments. I’ll tell you what I really loved. The first time we saw him play.
Yeah.
You remember that heater he went on like really early out the gate? He had like the game where he made 10 out of 12.
Yeah.
He had a game where he made like 10 out of 12 and one like nine out of 10 or something like that in backto-back games. And we’re like, does this guy just make every jump shot? The answer was kind of. He kind of did. And it was pretty.
You rarely see guys get as hot as Michael Porter Jr. could get in an NBA game. We coined the term porter quarter or voteed originally because of it.
And the sad thing is like it was such a quick glimpse and even we didn’t really get to see like he ever his his highest scoring season was 2020 before that third surgery. And that guy that guy was
an unbelievable talent. Unbelievable.
And it it just got worse and worse. The the the maintenance, the body stuff, how how poorly he moved. I honestly think even his shooting dipping a bit, it’s still very, very good. Y was about the back. I think that guy was a talent-wise one of the best we’ve ever seen.
Yeah,
in the end,
he was just enough to help them win that title and and it is time to move on. And I I think they made a really really savvy trade that will sort of allow us to watch the Nuggets next year and not necessarily feel like the world is turned upside down either in terms of how they play being so different. And it it it should be a pretty seamless one. I’m excited about it. Again, the big thing though, guys, Porter has been a significantly more available player than Cam Johnson in the last 3 years. So, Cam has to stay on the floor. And if he does, I have no doubt it’ll help the Nuggets.
I will say I would bet going forward, though.
I was going to say, would you bet over the next three years
who play there’s two contract who to play more games.
I’d probably bet Cam Johnson.
It’s fair to wonder could tank for Porter at any second. So, I’m not I just if Cam does stay on the floor, he’s going to help this team win games. There’s no doubt. Yeah.
Um, another reason for Al Horford, for me to kind of love Al Horford,
I could see him being a really good mentor for Don Holmes.
Oh, definitely. That’s what Don Holmes should be trying to become is Al Horford. I think there’s some similarities there at least in this.
I think that’s very fair. A true stretch five.
True stretch five. I think Al Horford said somewhere this was going to be his last year, too. So, this is like a swan song. Why not get it uh going out on top? I love it, man. The Nuggets I will I’m not going to lie to you guys. I came into today and I’ve really felt this way for a while. I was worried the thing it was over. I just was worried that the Nuggets were kind of in this wheel of mediocrity where they’d back themselves in the corner and now maybe in two years they’ll wiggle out. This to me is a complete shot in the arm where I just feel like the Nuggets are back. I feel like it’s not silly at all to believe the Nuggets now have what it takes to win the championship next year. Still some moves to be made, but I just look at it right now and I go, “Yeah, I’m back. I’m back thinking that they can go toe-to-toe with anyone.” And also, you know, there were a lot of questions about just could this front office operate this summer in what we knew was going to be a a summer where tough decisions had to be made. They definitely needed to do something to inject some life into this team. Ben Tenzer, a guy who wasn’t even the assistant GM last year. John Wallace, who was director of player personnel in Minnesota, not even one of the top two in command there. Such an impressive debut.
What a debut. I mean, they showed today that they can absolutely do the job
and and I thought ownership’s process was worthy of criticism, to be honest.
And but a but a hat tip is in order to the gentlemen that were hired and got this.
Absolutely. But what was bad about their process?
I’m saying at the time we had that conversation and I’m saying winning or losing really was probably difficult to do at that press conference in that time. Um it didn’t look like they it took them a while. They didn’t spend a lot of money. They didn’t name a president. We had all those questions. I think they were fair to bring up
and they might still be.
And they might still be, but what mattered more was what Ben and John did with this this window of time. And they’ve done something that by all accounts uh is worthy of applause. So So they passed their first test with flying colors and I’m really excited
and I hope they keep it going. I hope right as we end this stream there’s another great move that the Nuggets make. We got super chats. Yes, we do. Okay, Barbershop 16214 just became a diehard. Been a fan for a couple of years now. Super excited for the 2526 season. I think Kane will be a great fit, but I’ll miss MPJ.
And real quick, if you want to sign up to become a diehard, best way to support us, the dnvr.com, $3 a month. Crazy deal.
Ryan B1 1336, I would like to rescend all of my negative super chats about this front office. I feel like I need one of those meme apology forums to come out.
Yeah. HC5280, an awesome surprise trade, a long-awaited reunion, and Lakers fans around the world are crashing out. What a day. What a day.
The Lakers big losers of the winners of this season. Lakers and Celtics,
Adam Silver, I mean, they’re going to get the greatest.
The Lakers are eight and so like whatever.
Excuse me. One more from HC5280. The fact that MPJ Trace allows us to afford another four years of rent in Browntown.
That’s interesting.
Holy smokes. You know who set up in Brown? Brown and Brown. The law firm of Brown and Brown.
Oh, we do get the law firm of Brown. We’re so bad.
The real Matt Dog. What’s up, DNVR? Guppies and Dline. Just watch Cam Johnson Highlights and burst into tears watching him dribble through the lane and create his own shot.
The real Matt Dog reminds me of when we traded G Bear Harris for AG. He was on a decline and got an A+ roster fit. same exact vibe with this. Plus, Cam has his chromosomes.
It’s true.
All right. Similar to MPJ.
Uh, okay. Yeah. 5280 again. All we need is a backup center and Black Skyline jerseys. No, Chip is a log,
bro. I think we’re going to get both of those things.
The Bucks have signed Tory and Prince by the way.
You son of a but you guys you guys want to know another player that is or another team that’s a loser the offseason? The Bucks.
Well, they just they just got Torian Prince. Well, he’s now their second best player. Damn it.
I mean, I don’t not joking.
Is he their second best player?
To Prince, dude. Two years, 7
the Clippers.
Two years, $7.1 million deal. That’s the three million. They were able to retain Kevin Porter Jr. as well, right? So, they were they should be fine. Mr. Ewan Roy Plumbley. No, Charlotte,
by the way, Ma, never mind. That’s a whole another. We could do a whole podcast on Mason. Mr. Ew and Roy, I let myself be gaslit by Josh and Ben Wallace that there would be no moves this summer. So did we. Mr. Ew and Roy. So did we.
No, he just said they were only doing it in free agency, guys. Never been happier to be gassed. Should I start looking at roundtrip flights to Denver for next June?
Yes. I mean, don’t buy them, but you could look.
Fu Doseier. That’s hilarious.
That’s a great name, man.

I am a Nuggets fan once again. 'always been a Jokic fan, but after the past 2 years, it's been quite bleak. Let's go, Nuggets!!!
Oklahoma City Thunder (+250)
Denver Nuggets (+800)
New York Knicks (+900)
Houston Rockets (+900)
Cleveland Cavaliers (+950)
Orlando Magic (+1100)
Los Angeles Clippers (+1500)
Los Angeles Lakers (+1600)
Minnesota Timberwolves (+1700)
Golden State Warriors (+2700)
Atlanta Hawks (+3100)
Boston Celtics (+3100)
Philadelphia 76ers (+3200)
Dallas Mavericks (+3400)
Indiana Pacers (+4500)
Ok. Now do Murray.
Now just one more move. Get rid of Nnaji and bring over Milutinov and Avramovic. Champonship guaranteed!
I love this trade. Props to MPJ of course. A Denver champion. But I want to highlight the Jokic effect on uplifting players. Similar to Nash's impact on teammates. MPJ has played alongside Jokic his whole career and averages slightly less points than CJ without Jokic. I belive that there is a real potential for uplift here. MPJ had hit his ceiling playing with Jok, we're yet to see CJ's ceiling.
They still have to separate Nikola from jamal ASAP
Now Jamal has to go!
Jokic and MPJ story is one of the best sports stories ever – two underdogs ending up with a championship. I am sad for him leaving but I hope that he thrives in Brooklyn.
Great trade👌
The next have to be jamal murray!!! We don't need his looser mentality and no effort attitude 👎 SEPARATE NIKOLA FROM JAMAL ASAP
With this trade, a WCF guaranteed and if they meet OKC again the result will be different this time around.
Now dump Murray also 💯
Al horford and 1 more wing/guard guy would make us favorites for title next year imo
Bruce Brown situation is exactly why its very bad that Jokic makes others soo good that Pacers literally made his bag 4-5x bigger than it should be
I was thinking that Jokic will move because Denver was not signalling any trade. This is a big rejoice. Thanks to anyone who was involved in this 🙏
Great news but can someone tell me the Nets rational for this trade?
Nuggets need athletic players also. This is a great move that they did, but we also need backup centar and 1 more athletic sf or pf. All in all, the great direction franchise is taking😊
if only he had a slightly smaller contract, I believe that Jamal would have been traded now instead of him
Al Horford could be what the Nuggets need to be in the championship convo again. This guy is seriously good and will give them more depth that they badly need. 11mil should be enough to get him.
Bruce is back!!
Well done new front office!!
I think Vogt is so sad POrter is gone he cant even hide it 😀
we are SO BACK!! 2026 Champs book it
Will Cam Johnson be the first All-Star player teammate of Jokic?
Johnson is much better than MPJ. I don't even think it's very close, especially where Porter is a shrinking violet the later you get into the playoffs. He's as good a shooter, but has better off ball movement, much better playmaking, and is a better defender. Rebounding is the only thing we're losing out on.
Let’s go Nuggets! Thank you MPJ for everything!
Unwatchable
Now they just need to dump Nnaji and get someone who can hold things down while Jokic rests.
They really need to upgrade Pickett.
C'mon Nuggets the next move is to get rid of Murray and bring in either Kuminga or Giddy
Jonas just got picked up too
And we just signed a more capable Jokic back up with Jonas Valanciunas!!!
Im done with watching you guys, even once in awhile! Your comments this time take the cake.
MPJ is a better player almost across the board. Except for FT% and by a fraction in Turnovers, Porter is superior. (Do you guys even check facts & data before speaking?!?)
I am a Denver fan from Serbia. I am amazed at how well you know the opportunities in the NBA. The return of Bruce Brown is certainly a big move towards the title, but don't forget that MPJ, who is now leaving, also played then. With Jokic resting on the bench, would Nurkic be a good replacement? Denver needs players who don't get injured and who shoot accurately. Jokic does the rest.
Comment on the arrival of Jonas Valinciunas. Are you satisfied? How good is it? He will replace Jokić, while he is on the bench.
I was always lukewarm on MPJ. I'm very grateful for his time here, and what he contributed to the championship run. But I'm also looking forward to not having to figure out which sibling's legal trouble is bothering him on-court this year.
No one is mentioning Bruce's knee issues and the knee surgery he had. Not a single word. He hasn't played the same since. The Pacers traded him to Toronto. Then he had the surgery. Nothing can detract from his impact on our championship season. But people better be prepared for a different BB than the player who left 2 seasons ago.
Basically new gm department is doing what should have been done two years ago. Now, can BB play at the level as he did 3 years ago, can Jokic be as great as he was…I don't know. But it feels like the Nuggets roster needs more depth considering how strong the West is. At least one more solid player.
