MUST-SEE 76ers Rumors On A LeBron James TRADE To Philadelphia
[Music] Could we really see a LeBron James trade this summer? Plenty of rumors and speculation flying around, including from LeBron’s own agent. So, we’re going to get into all the latest trade rumors here on LeBron in just a moment. But, first, I just want to ask the Sixers fans and kind of gauge the temperature right now. If he was available to be had this offseason, which he just might be, would you trade for LeBron James? Would you like to see LeBron on the Philadelphia 76ers? If you would, go ahead, hit that thumbs up icon, like the video. I want to see how many people would like to see LeBron in Philly. If you wouldn’t, you’re like, I don’t want LeBron on this team. That’s totally fine as well. But comment down below why you wouldn’t want to see LeBron in Philadelphia. So, let’s start here with this tweet that kind of sparked a lot of these rumors from John Gambodoro, covers the uh Phoenix Suns on Arizona Sports Radio 987, reported that apparently this the Suns or the Lakers, excuse me, would like to move on from LeBron if they could. And LeBron and Austin Reeves don’t enjoy playing with Luca. Here’s what the full tweet had to say. I don’t know if they trade him. never said they will one way or the other. Just mentioned what I was told, plain and simple. And those who know me understand this info only comes from really good sources. LeBron and Reeves do not like playing with him. Uh showing Luca in this scenario and that LA would love to move on from LeBron if they can. No idea if he gets traded or bought out, but time will tell. Man, a little bit of a bombshell there. You know, all of a sudden we’re hearing LeBron doesn’t like playing with Luca. Reeves doesn’t like playing with Luca. And this comes as well with what Rich Paul, who is LeBron James agent, said regarding LeBron’s future. That also raised a lot of speculation regarding LeBron in LA. LeBron wants to compete for a championship. He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we’ve had for eight years with Jeannie Bus, Rob Pelinka, and consider the Lakers a critical part of his career. We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what’s best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what’s best for him. That is coming again straight from LeBron James’s agent in Rich Paul. I don’t know about you, to me that sounds like someone who kind of has one foot out the door. Sounds like someone who could be requesting a trade at some point soon. Yeah. You don’t say things like, “We be really appreciative of the partnership we’ve had. Lakers, we understand that they’re building for the future. We want to see LeBron. He wants a realistic chance of winning it all. The Lakers understand that.” Like, man, just hearing that combined with the report that we heard earlier that the Lakers are supposedly would move off LeBron if they could seems to me there is a realistic shot LeBron could get traded this off seasonason. Now, LeBron does have a no trade clause, so he kind of would control if and where he would get traded. Of course, you know, someone like LeBron certainly deserving of that. But when we start to think about a LeBron James trade, certainly not quite what he once was, even just a few years ago, you can see the numbers have dipped a little bit, but look, still coming off a season for the Lakers in which he played 70 games. They were the three seed, didn’t get bounced in the NBA playoffs, but look, just over 24 a game, eight assists, 51% from the field, and 37.6% from three. coming a season after. He shot over 40% from three. Look, we know who LeBron is. It’s no secret that he’s not, you know, 27 years old anymore, but still one of the better players that we have in the entire NBA. And if he were to be on the market, I’m sure there’d be a lot of teams interested in his services. Now, what would his value actually be considering his age? He has one year left on his deal. How much longer does he actually want to play in the NBA? Those are all factors that a team trading for LeBron will have to consider. Now, when it comes to the 76ers, could Philadelphia put together a package for LeBron James? Would they even be interested in LeBron James? Would the Lakers be interested in what the Sixers had to offer? Would LeBron be interested in going to Philadelphia? Because, of course, he does have a no trade clause. So, any deal he would have to approve. We’re going to get to all of those topics here in just a moment, including a trade proposal I cooked up that I think would make sense for both Philadelphia and LA if they do want to move on from LeBron. Before we get to that, want to tell you guys about this absolute steal of a deal over at Fanatics on these Tyrese Maxi City Edition jerseys. Normally priced at $120, but they are marked down right now on clearance on sale for just $60. That’s right. They are 50% off in all sizes for a very, very limited time only. So, you can get what I think is a sick looking jersey for the foundational piece, the franchise of this 76ers team. You can get his jersey for 50% off. Again, down from 120 to just $60. Go to chatsports.commaxie50. That’s chatsports.commaxie50. I’ll put that link in the comments section and description of today’s show. You can click on it, go to Fanatics and pick yourself up a Maxi jersey while the deal does still last. So, let’s get to my LeBron James Tread idea. You know, kind of difficult at this point in his career thinking of what his value might be again because he’s on an expiring contract. very well could retire at the end of next season. We just saw Kevin Durant get traded for what? Jaylen Green, some salary filler, the 10th overall pick in five second round picks. Now, I don’t think KD is quite as close to retirement as LeBron James is. And you could argue I think Kevin Durant playing better at this point in their respective careers than LeBron. So, the deal I cooked up, obviously LeBron heading to Philly. I threw Dolan Connect in here as well. Lakers looking to trade Dolan Connect. They obviously try to trade him for Mark Williams earlier back in the trade deadline. So, kind of an awkward situation there. You throw him in, Philly gets more shooting and a young player in this instance. Give up Paula George for the salary. LeBron and Paula George basically make the exact same thing. Throw in Andre Drummond. Lakers, they did bring in DeAndre Aen, but they’re still looking for another center on that roster. And then I think you got to throw in a 2030 first round pick just because Paul George, his contract, his age, his injury history, I think you’d want to throw in one first, but I don’t think it would really cost a whole lot more than that again because LeBron very well could retire after one season. So, I think this deal would make sense for both sides. Lakers get a player in Paula George who can still help them win games right now. I think Paula George is a good fit around Luca around Reeves around of course they have DeAndre Eaton now so I think it does make sense for both sides and the Lakers obviously getting off connect to they did try to trade earlier on in the season so I’m going to break down this trade a little bit more in further detail but I just want to get your first opinions on this move if this was on the table the Lakers came calling offered this to Philadelphia would you accept this trade real simple give me an A for accept Give me a D for decline. Let me know if you would make this move down in the comments section. For me, I’m definitely accepting this deal and I kind of think it’s a nobrainer. For starters, you get off the Paul George contract and I’m not even totally sold that Paul George is definitely washed, that he’s definitely cooked. I think he could be better than what he was last season. But even if he is better than what he was last season, it’s still a long shot that he’s going to be worth the amount of money you’re paying him, 50 plus million dollars over the next few seasons, right? So you’re able to get off that deal for an upgrade in LeBron. There’s no doubt that LeBron is a better player even at his age right now than Paul George is. Give up Andre Drummond, who the Sixers have been trying to trade anyways, and throw one first round pick in there. It’s a 2031st. Still have a lot of other draft capital if you’re Philadelphia. But for the Lakers, would you be able to get a better offer? Maybe. It depends, you know, what what other teams are interested. Where does LeBron want to go? I think LeBron would be interested in coming to Philly with a talent they have on this roster. And with how weak the Eastern Conference is if he is trying to win one more title before he does retire. Maybe you get Bronny in the trade, too. I know he wants to play and keep playing with his son. But, you know, then for the Sixers, you get Don Connect as well, a shooter. You can bring off the bench. Team could use a little more spacing. not a great defender, but you know, you’ll take that in a deal like this. The Lakers have really been needing another center. They’ve been in the market for another one even after adding DeAndre. So, I think it makes sense for both sides. I don’t think the Lakers are going to get all that much again for a player in LeBron who very well could retire after this upcoming season on an expiring deal. And also for Philadelphia getting off that Paul George contract, you bring LeBron in. You could open up a ton of money just next off season because that LeBron contract is expiring if he does retire or he doesn’t want to return. It would suck if you only get him for one season and you don’t win a title. I think you’d have a very good shot of doing it with LeBron James, but at the very least you would open up a ton of money to then use next off seasonason to hopefully make some other moves and other additions to the squad. So, I think it’d be a no-brainer if that’s all it took for Philadelphia. And I really don’t think it would take a whole lot more again because of LeBron’s age, uh, because of the threat of retirement and him possibly only being on the team for one season. That’ll do it for today’s show. If you want to hit me up over on Twitter, I’m always talking more Sixers over on my social media account, whether it’s, you know, the LeBron stuff or just Sixer stuff every single day. The first thing I do before I hop on the mic and talk about it is tweet about it. So, go give me a follow over there at Jake Chipper. Really appreciate it. And we’ll see you next time right here on the show. [Music]
