Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon was SMART to refuse to pay $47M for Mediocre Myles!

I can’t really explain it because Miles Turner was overpaid to go to Milwaukee and national media guys are like, “Oh, no. This is well within the market because NZ Reed got 25 million a year.” Well, you’re justifying stupidity with other stupidity. You can’t validate stupidity with earlier stupidity. That’s stupidity. I don’t understand that kind of thinking. So, Miles Turner’s gone. It would have cost in real dollars because of the luxury tax and the forfeiture of the money that the Pacers would get and will get because they’re not over the the luxury tax threshold. It would have cost them $40 million in year 1 to keep Miles Turner. $47 million for 10 and4 in the NBA finals. hell 15 and a half and six and a half in the regular season with defense that was wanting lacking on many occasions. You want to pay $47 million for Miles Turner? Herb Simon didn’t and I congratulate him for it. We don’t need more stupidity from owners and we certainly don’t need it here. Herb Simon knows the value of a buck. You don’t overpay for mediocrity. First rule of business, first rule in hiring.

Myles Turner was paid $26.75M to join the Bucks.
Pacers would have been on the hook for that amount, plus $11M in taxes, and $10M in rewards from the NBA for being under the luxury tax!

  1. Stupity now Turner sucks. Because he got traded Shut it your position is horse shit. Are you in your parents basement.

  2. The team is now toast. 40% of a team that went to the finals is gone. How long before others want out and demand to be traded? Team chemistry is real. It just vaporized with the departure of Turner. There are few, if any, replacement centers available. I enjoyed the last two seasons. Thanks for the memories, guys, cause that’s all Indy fans have left.

  3. Happy 4th of July! I really don't understand fans who say Simon is cheap bc he didn't pay Myles. It is smart not to pay for mediocrity.

  4. The more I think about it, it is a low risk high reward gamble for the pacers to develop the young bigs. Worst case scenario is the pacers can get a big through the 2026 draft which is better than what we can get with free agency.

  5. We've seen this before Jalen Rose Paul George Victor oladipo Jermaine O'Neal the best all-around team play basketball I've seen since the 60s Turner did the right thing they never wanted to go over the luxury tax it's always a phantom move they always blame it on the player the players don't want to move
