Summer League roster reaction. The Philadelphia 76ers have announced who will be taking the floor for their summer league. Let’s go through the names, come up with a lineup that we like and uh just give our overall thoughts. Justin Edwards, Adm Bona, VJ Edgecomb, Alex Reese, Janai Broom, Judah Mintz, Jaylen Hood, Shafino, Kev Aluma, Jaylen Slawson, Caleb Stone, Carowwell, Mark Armstrong, Andrew Funk, Landers Nollie I St. Thomas, that’s one of your guys historically. Hunter Salis, Isizison Almanza, Jack Clark, and Stefan Toddorovich. Interesting. Your thoughts overall on the Sixers summer league roster?
Well, it was today when I found out Jaylen Hoodino was a 76er last year. Um, that’s that’s kind of interesting to see. But, uh, I mean, you got an interesting roster. Obviously, VJ Edgecom is going to be the big talking point on here with Jai Broom. Also, Justin Edwards, who’s fresh off signing like an actual deal. I think he just got like a threeear, four-year deal from the 76ers. So, good for him. I’d be interested to see if he actually plays a good amount of summer league. But, uh, there’s some interesting lineup combinations and things I think you can do, especially like we can build it out once we get to that point. But, like you got Hood, Shafino, Broom, and I think Edgecomb is like for sure starters in my lineup, and then you can fill in other two spots. Judah Mintz is interesting to me as well too because I’m a Judah Mintz guy.
I could be wrong on this, but this screams roster I get excited about from like star power names I liked in college that loses every single game in summer league. Like I I see zero cohesion with the way this roster was built. Honestly, pretty mad at the Sixers for putting the guards that are on this roster around VJ Edgecom because Judah Mintz does not help VJ Edgecom. Jaylen Hoodino, sorry, not going to help VJ Edgecom. Uh even a guy like St. Thomas Hunter Salace. Those guys do not help VJcom. If you want VJcom to like get off to a good start developmentally here. Could I get like one dude that likes to pass? One dude that like will cover. I don’t know. Just just pair well with him. I don’t think they have that here. I think they got a bunch of guys who want to go get 25 and will be annoyed with VJ Edgecomb standing in the corner. Right. their best point guard option. Maybe the only point guard on the roster is Mark Armstrong. Yeah, I hate it. Like even just like find actually well he’s on a different roster but like get Jaylen Picket on this team and I’d be happy. Like that type of dude is missing from this roster and it’s annoying me. Uh what would you put together as your best starting five here? Uh I think I’d go this is kind of a nasty roster. Hushafino Edgecomb. Uh, I’m gonna go Andrew Funk. Justin Edwards, Broom. Okay. I I would just go a little bigger. I’m going Hood Shafino, Edgecomb, Justin Edwards at the three, Broom at the four, Adam Dembona at the five, which I actually don’t hate as that lineup, but when you start to get into the bench guards, that’s where you lose me. Yeah, that’s this lineup’s not it. This team’s This roster is not it for me.
