And coach Allan, for every adjustment, there is a counter adjustment. That is the big reason why we’re at level right now. Well, you know, game one and game number three belonging to Balanka Jin Kings. San Miguel getting two and four. It’s all about the defense of Barangra. And if it’s going to be offense, it will have to be San Miguel winning the ball game. It has been a well-played series so far with the offense dictating the wins for the San Miguel Beerman in game three. We saw them struggle from beyond the arc. Only three triples converted throughout that matchup and you knew it was not going to happen for a second straight game. Baranga. I’m sure they were also aware that SMB was going to try and make more three-point shots this time around, but even their tenacious defense would not be enough to slow SMB down 50% from downtown. 14 three-point shots made. That was the big reason for their win. Well, sports and Miguel Beerman, it’s all about their rebounding for that ball game. They have 10 more against Bangra and that is the reason why they had 11 more fast break points as well in that ball game.
A big reason as well why the San Miguel Beerman ended up with a W was the return of Barbaro to the starting lineup for SMB. It was Moto Dua who took his place for games two and three. But Junar looking a lot better, moving a lot better as well. that gap injury no longer an issue as he was a tremendous rebounder of course inside for the Beerman.
You know though he only had 12 points he had 19 19 rebounds. He had 31.8 minutes in game number number four. That means he can already run and out jump the opponent. He’s no longer feeling the pain. And let’s see if a Junar Fardo will be very healthy for game number five. For Baranga Hinebra, they competed well in the first half and a big reason why was the scoring of Roy Rosari. He had a bounceback performance after struggling from the field in their last game in game number three of that contest and Rosario was really engaged. He was looking for his spots. He was active in grabbing offensive rebounds. He stuck with the plays, did not quit in any given possession. And as a result, he had a strong double-digit scoring first half. However, that kind of offense was non-existent in the second half for Troy and the rest of Barangayra.
Yeah, eight points all in the first quarter. Struggled in the next how many quarters with only six uh points? 75% but he only had eight attempts in that ball game. So, you can see that the defense of San Miguel Beerman was also against Troy Rosario not being able to take those open looks. And for more on this matchup, we send it over to Miss Bea Espadero. Carlo and coach AG coach Richard Del Rosario didn’t hide his frustration about their game four loss saying San Miguel’s bench depth was a big difference and ultimately cost inva the lead in the series. He also pointed to a lack of discipline in their execution. Players were rushing shots instead of staying patient especially during a tough shooting night. As he put it, we couldn’t defend and shoot which is always a recipe for disaster. Which is why heading to game five, coach Richard emphasized two things. limiting every SMB player especially from beyond the art and creating better looks on offense. Gentlemen, back to you.

It will be Bronial and Jab Aguilar jumping it up at center court before we start this ball game. The advantage up for grabs. Ball is up and away we go. First possession will belong to the Beerman. Balance. Coach Allen. Big deal for SMB. In the two games that they won, they got six double-digit scorers. So, it is important to get everyone aggressively looking for their own baskets for the var.
Well, especially that Junar Fardo is not 100%. No. Yes, he only scored 12 points, but then again, it’s all about his inside presence in the ball game that really counts a lot for the San Miguel Beerman. So, let’s see if Jun Marardo will be scoring in his 20s here in this ball game.
This is a very similar start as game one with an early foul called against Japet. And the box out versus Junar. The pullup jumper from Marcio Lacier is a miss. The rebound stays with SMB thanks to Junar. Open three. won’t go for CJ Perez. Two early misses from downtown from Perez.
Those are open looks right there for the Beerman, but you can see the aggressiveness of Junar Farard in keeping that ball alive.
Now, what will the offense look like
for Nebra? Good cut coming from Scotty Thompson as he banks home the first bucket of the match.
That’s a great back door play right there. Thompson not really getting that ball. All of a sudden going to the hoop, getting that ball for the two points. Quick post up entry for Jun Mahar.
The dig from Steven Holt. Repost, but they could not deliver the basketball to him. They go to the other side. Wami misses. Strong on that three-point try. Japet down low working against Brunal and he connects. And you know when Japet Aguilar is very aggressive in the ball game that really helps the cause of the Hinebra San Miguel team he’s got two points here in the first quarter. Good enough start for Baranga Henebra while the Beerman are still looking for their first bucket. CJ downhill drive unstoppable. You know that’s the thing with CJ Perez. He’s not going to be forcing those outside shots every time he sees that there’s an opportunity for him to take it strong. That is one thing that CJ really does in a ball game.
Scotty trying to give it back to him, but he comes up short. One more try to the other side. Another miss from Thompson. Oh, that should have been easy. Two points right there on the put back. And here’s CJ Perez one more time.
Little too deep there. Good challenge as well from the defense of Baranga. We’re running to the other side with Steven Holt matched up against Lacier. Ball screen action. A rescreen for Holt. Skip pass. Malonso sets his feet and he will not get the friendly bounce. Another possession though for Hinebra Thompson misses from the outside. That ball will stay with Baranga Hinebra. 12 seconds in the shot clock as Rosario is giving them multiple cracks at it. A lot of aggressiveness being shown on the offensive end by Baranga Hene Jenkins getting those offensive rebounds. Milono goes on the drive. Japet, that’s his spot. The jumper is gone.
So you can see that Japet Aguilar is in rhythm here in this ball game. He’s got four points to start this game.
An important shot for any Baranga Hinebra big just to stretch out to draw out the defense of Jun. That ball bounced off of Steven Hope according to our baseline referee. Ooh, an early challenge from coach Dem. Actually, I saw it. Huh. I saw it. I felt like it really hit the uh the leg right there of a San Miguel beer man. Let’s see if uh we’ll be able to show that in the slow-mo.
Not even 3 minutes into this ball game, we have our first challenge. You know why? Because it happened in front of the Baranga bench.
Sure. Sure. And you saw multiple Barangai Hinevra players reacting from their bench. And now we will see. If it was worth the risk, it is successful.

That’s it. That’s right. You can see the foot of Brunal rather. That’s a very sharp challenge right there. Not by coach Tim, but by the hold. He never benched.
But that just goes to show you that even the early goingings of this matchup crucial already because you want to get a quick start, a hot start. And Barangahbra will be left with 6.4 here in this shot clock. Well, I’m sure Bangahbra are really looking at their defense to be improved here in this game. Allowing 107 points in game number four.
They have to rush here. Thompson to Japet. Another jumper. Not this time. Oh, rebound to Troy Rosario. Three. Beerman could not agree on who will pick it up. Rosario turns garbage into gold. And
that was a lucky break right there for Troy Rosario. Six-point lead right now for Balanga Hinebra. Three buckets in the shaded area for Henebra. That will be a foul called against Scotty. It’s because uh Ronnie Brandel Brand actually cannot roll down inside. No, he didn’t have an advantage because Scotty was holding on to him. That’s a good call. Only two points in the ball game for the San Miguel Pierman. Wami kicks it out. Another outside attempt. Still nothing going from downtown for CJ. Hold to Rosario. Shoy looking for Malonzo. If they make another bucket here, expect San Miguel Beer to call a timeout. Rosario inside. Loses control of the basketball. Taken away by Brandon. To the other side we go. Oh, good handoff play and CJ will connect again. And all the four points of San Miguel Beerman all coming from CJ Perez has got four points. Eight to four. A four-point advantage for Baranga Hinra with Japet reading his options to go to Malono. Jamie with a switch. The pass inside tap by CJ. Forward pass to Marcio. Lacier goes middle to CJ. Another attempt from deep. Finally it falls. What about a two-point shot for the time being, but the referees are pointing to our technical officials to take another look if it would be a three.

Wami uses the ball screen, finds the gap, one-hander won’t go. Rondial performs his roll and then a quick pass to Chongsung who will miss again.
Wow, that was just too wide open. That miss right there coming from Wami Chong. Halfway mark of the first quarter with Holt using the Rosario screen. Malono will try again. Still can’t connect. Only one chance for the Barangai Jin Kings. Brandonial made a couple of threes in the last game. Oo, Scotty was too close for comfort there as Brandon refused to take the shot. This is wide open the three. Won’t get the bounce for Tongson. And the rebound will be picked up by Rosario. Foul whistled against Brunal. Wow. Wami Chong is missing those open looks here in the first quarter.

Justin in game number four. San Miguel’s second unit played a huge role in shifting the momentum. Something that coach Peter Martin mentioned even before this match. He gave credit to guys like Jedo Cruz and even Jeron Tang who came in and matched the starters’s energy especially during that second half stretch. Coach Peter explained that in a series like this where both teams know each other’s sets, mixing things up is a must and those second unit sparks make a difference. Tonight he is looking for that same collective effort not just from the starters but from all 11 or 12 players. And within an Ebraas counterattacks always a threat he emphasized the importance of being sharp defensively and continuing to anchor the offense around Jarardo and coach AG. Back to you guys.
Thank you for that report Bea. And we saw that coming from San Miguel Beer in games two and four. In game two, they started Moto Duoa. The defense of Inbra a little bit confused in the first quarter and then they got impact from Chris Rosales coming off the bench in game four. We saw that from Jero Cru suddenly starting in the third quarter taking the place of Marcio. And it will be those little changes just to keep Baranga Hanebra guessing just a little bit that would give you the opening you need to really go on the run and Miguel.
You know that’s why it’s two all no a great chess match between this two great coaches coach Leo and coach Kim. A strong drive from Jamie Malonzo as he takes full advantage of his speed against Moa as coach Leo all of a sudden playing big here at the five and four spots. But X4 in this case Toua will not be able to stay in pace with Malonzo. Now Alonzo making sure that uh he felt that uh he had some speed advantage against Moto Toua. They left him wide open there in that corner to actually attack the defense of Big Mo.
Oh, CJ already downhill and nothing else Barangahene could do there but give up a foul. You cannot sleep on CJ. He’s so quick to attack. Yeah, that’s one thing that actually Baranga Hanebra locked in game number four in the transition defense. That’s why San Miguel had 15 fast break points in that ball game. And that’s another thing that coach Leo would want to see here in this game, that running game from the dreaded uh uh offense of San Miguel.
19 points for CJ. I’m sure he would wish had a better clip than 36.8% two missed free throws and he was too quick to try to go for the rebound as he commits the violation.
Well, he knew that he was going to be missing that shot, but on The release actually was already going in. That’s the right call because the free throw shooter can only move after the ball shot bounces off the rim.

While everyone else can get their position on the release. Five-point lead for Barangira. 13-8. Holt gets the switch. The pull-up jumper gets the friendly bounce. And that is a point of attack. Looks like technical foul will be called against Jericho. Lucky break for Henebra. And then this is wide open. The easiest bucket that Scotty Thompson will score in this match. That’ll be the fourth for Barangai Hinebra as coach Tim will steal a bit of rest for Steven Holt on the number of Jason Geron. Couple of shot attempts early. He locates Toliano. But before that P. Oh, stepping out of bounds rather turnover. A careless one for SNB.
Wow. San Miguel has only scored 10 points. A lot of turnovers and they’re allowing Barangai Hinbla to be getting those offensive rebounds here in the first quarter. Below the one minute mark. Let’s see what happens here on the offense of Bangai.
And if you’re Banga Hanebra and you’re keeping SMB below 25 points per quarter, that is exactly what you need. Then now 10.
It’s just defensive effort for you.
Well, they know they know that when you allow more than 100 points on the average, it’s about 107 points per ball per one game for uh San Miguel. So that’s one thing that is uh going to be uh stopped by Baranga here in this game. Oh, almost a miscommunication. Yes, it will be a turnover between Geron Teng and Dontrolano. I don’t think the five that they have on the floor are used to playing with each other.

JT came into the ball game almost as emergency because he entered the matchup game four right as Dre Kahilig hurt his knee. And those were big actually in the second quarter. No, he had six points almost 15 minutes allowed by coach Leo for Jeron Teng to be playing in game number four. Second free throw for JT. Also good. So 8.5 to work with. This will have to be quick as SMB has two fouls to give. That’s the first one coming from Jedico. A good foul right there. They have one more to actually give up
and they don’t want to fall in the act of shooting. Aani will be the inbounder. Let’s see what the options will be. A quick pass to Aan Messi. Not a prettiest shots to try and beat the buzzer. We will end though the first quarter of action with Baranga. San Miguel keeping the scoring at a minimum for the San Miguel Beerman. I mean these two proud teams had so many superstars, so many legends wear their jerseys. Unfortunately for them, only one team will advance to the finals of the PBA 49 season. I think we were losing the 50/50 balls. They were quicker than the to the ball than us. So, we’re addressing it right now and we’re putting in energy players. Right. Thank you so much, Coach Peter. So, the offense did not look pretty for SMB through the rest of the time in the first quarter. But these are key minutes for Baranga when you have four second unit players in the game and you’re managing to keep SMB at bay. So it’s still a 10-point lead right now with your main man resting. Well, I think we have to do a better job defending uh Junar in the post. Once he gets the ball in the post, it’s already a breakdown and he reads the double teams easier. So, we need to adjust to that. And it all started from there. Everybody got touches because Jumer got the touch in the post. Offensively, we were just settling too much for outside shots. We need to be in attack mode here in the third quarter.

But the bench showed up even more for the San Miguel Beerman with Moa getting that endon opportunity. as SMB had a slim three-point lead 7471 heading into the fourth in the final quarter. Chapen will be located by Scotty Thompson slam dunk to get them within two. Benjun locating Dontrolaniano down low as he hit that layup and it came after a triple from CJ Perez. Well, you know, San Miguel Beerman, they were able to control the rebounds. They were able to actually outshoot San Miguel because of Hineva because of their defense. And in the end, it was just so much firepower by coach Leo Osley and his ward to get this win in game number five.
