Josh Giddey’s Contract Extension From The Chicago Bulls Is Heating Up According To Reports

It sounds like Josh Giddy and the Chicago Bulls could be coming to an agreement on a contract per the point guard himself on Instagram, which he posted on July 2nd, 2025, as wearing a Bulls uniform with a particular emoji in the picture and him celebrating. I’m excited to break it all down for you guys. Hopefully, the Bulls make a big splash here, keeping Giddy on a extension. But before I get more into today’s show, hit that like button if you want the Chicago Bulls to extend Josh Giddy. Along with that, too, do you want Giddy extended? Comment Y for yes or N for no. Let’s get into the news though that Josh Giddy hints that he could have a contract coming up here shortly with the Chicago Bulls. Point guard drops a hit on Instagram on July 2nd, 2025 to show that he is pumped up. Let’s go to that image real quick. You can see he’s celebrating in that awesome Chicago Bulls black uniform. And on top of it too, if you look right by his face, the little hour, the timer emoji and Josh Getty’s pumped about it. That’s all he posted on July 2nd kind of indicating that something could be going on here. Now, I am totally for this. Happy plus a timer emoji is a good sign. It’s a message to the fans that something could be going on. He hasn’t been officially released. It hasn’t been officially released yet. But if the Bulls can get a deal done with the young point guard, it is going to be huge for the development of this team, the direction that they’re going in and on top of it to keeping him somewhat cheap while they have him at a young age. Now, what’s nice about this is that being only 22 years old, Giddy gets the chance to sign a huge contract, make a ton of money, and then at 27 years old, when he’s more developed, get an even bigger contract in the NBA. It’s a good thing for him. And Josh Giddy wants to stay here with the Chicago Bulls. He’s confirmed that himself, speaking to a recent media outlet in Australia while he’s been home, saying, quote, “I’d love to stay in Chicago. I would love for it to work out that way, but it’s a business and I understand how the NBA works. It will happen hopefully soon.” It’s hard to say because a lot of it is not on me. A lot of it is on is between my agent and the Bull’s front office. Now, we all know about this Bulls front office. Not the greatest, but this is a good sign of a deal. He’s publicly saying how he wants to stay in Chicago on the Bulls that his agent and the front office are working things out and making the best deal possible. Now, the Bulls should have gotten this done before some of these crazy contracts recently came out because hopefully they could have paid him a little bit less. The Bulls are definitely going to be paying a nice dollar for him, though. Josh is playing a lot better. He had one of his best seasons yet in the NBA. Showed a lot of progression in Billy Donovan’s system this past year. And on top of it, too, being only 22 years old and putting up the numbers that he has. Pretty darn impressive to say the least. So, the young point guard has an opportunity to sign a deal with the Chicago Bulls, and the Bulls have the opportunity to match any offer that goes his way. So if a team’s willing to overpay, the Bulls can either accept it or let him walk. Let’s go into it real quick. So why is this important? The 68 point guard. Yeah, 68 big point guard for the Chicago Bulls. Weighs in at 210 lbs. Was the sixth overall pick in 2021. He is now entering his fourth year in the NBA, which has been very or just played in his fourth year in the NBA. So he’s been very impressive so far at only 22 years old. Bulls point guard obviously big deal for him. He’s been a huge part of the development of this team. He’s really starting to work out well with the younger guys and could lead to the Bulls being solid for a very long time now. A lot of people like his ability because of his size, but also on top of it too, he’s such a good point guard in my personal opinion. He The Bulls at first when they made this trade, everyone was kind of like, “We’re getting rid of Alex Caruso for this guy. Are you kidding me?” Now everyone’s like, “Okay, 22-year-old big point guard who can shoot, rebound, and on top of it, too, pass the rock around. Not bad.” Also, everyone remembers him for that awesome shot over LeBron James for that halfcourt winner against the LA Lakers. Overall, just an incredible, incredible story for him. He’s done a really good job for the Bulls this past year and his stats speak to it. So, this past season with the Bulls, he averaged about 30.2 minutes for them on the court along with 14.6 points per game, 7.2 assists per game, 8.1 total rebounds. So, this guy almost was a triple double machine this past year, and 1.2 two steals. So, he shows that he can do it on the defensive side of the ball as well to help out this young Bulls roster. I mean, 14.6 points, all right, that’s fine. But, I’m amazed by the rebound and the assist numbers. That’s a huge asset for a big point guard like him. It allows the Bulls to play a little bit bigger. And this is why also we need to get another big to help him out. But, and being at what he’s doing at only 30 minutes in the game, his time is only going to go up. These numbers were a lot worse before the All-Star break. He took off when the Bulls really started to make some moves, started to click, and that’s what helped them get into the playin. But at the end of the day, good overall ball player, and it got better as time went on. Now, what I want to see him continue to do is focus on his shooting, obviously. But we’re going to see these improvements from him considering he is again only 22 years old. That is why the Bulls need to lock him up sooner than later and get it on a longer rather than shorter contract. Because if the Bulls were to get him at, let’s say, a three-year deal, which is not going to happen most likely. If the Bulls were to get him on a three-year deal here, let’s just say, they would then have to pay him a ton more money when he turns 25. Max contract and he’s 30, still good. That’s another max contract at least. What the Bulls can do here, get him on a 5-year deal. That puts him at 27 years old. Then you give him another max contract at 5 to six years. That puts him at 32, 33. You get his best years out of him. He’s still balling. You pay him one more time. he’s not, then you end up moving on from him. But you get a solid 10 years out of him in a Chicago Bulls uniform. That’s what I want to see the Bulls front office do. Will they do it? I have no idea because we all know how they work. But let’s go through his projected contract according to NBA sources. So, a lot of people think he’s going to get a fiveyear contract with the Bulls, ranging from 25 to 30 million per season. Wouldn’t mind that at all. If I mean, if I was Giddy, I’d be like, “Heck yeah, give me the money.” That’s a$125 to $150 million contract he could receive. That’s a lot of money for him. Also playing on this Bulls team, he would be the future and that’s a big investment into him. His ages during that contract be 22 to 27 years old, still playing in the prime of his career, still developing. And on top of it, too, the Bulls get a match sheet offer, which is likely if a team were to give that offer to him. Overall, $150 million on the high end, $125 million on the low end for five season. He is the future. The Bulls should get this done to say the least. Get it done. Make him happy. That’s where your centerpiece is. You continue to build around him and he is the one distributing the rock, going out and getting the rebounds and still scoring in big games. I really like what I’ve seen out of him so far. The progression’s been real. He’s working well in Billy’s system. And this is why the Bulls might be keeping Billy Donovan because they’re not going to sign their guy who really likes his head coach can him and then have someone unhappy. We’ll see what ends up happening though. But final comments that I do want to say, he isn’t hiding his feelings either. A lot of his former teammates with Oklahoma City Thunder are getting huge contracts along with few other guys around the league and he’s been posting about that talking about money, money, money, money. This guy wants to get paid. He wants to be comfortable. He wants to be established and know where he’s going to be for the next few years. I don’t blame him. I don’t think anyone can. And hopefully the Bulls can get a deal done here sooner than later. So again, guys, I want to hear it from you. Josh Giddey Hints at Chicago Bulls Contract Extension! What This Means for the Bulls’ Future 🔥

Contract extension talks between the Chicago Bulls and Josh Giddey are officially heating up! After a cryptic Instagram post followed by a candid statement to reporters, Giddey is signaling that a deal may be on the horizon. The Bulls guard recently said:

“I’d love to stay in Chicago. I would love for it to work out that way. But, it’s a business and I understand how the NBA works. It will happen hopefully soon. It’s hard to say because a lot of it is not on me – a lot of it is between my agent and the Bulls front office.”

🔍 Why Chicago Needs to Re-sign Giddey
Josh Giddey brings size, versatility, and elite vision to a backcourt in need of long-term stability. With Lonzo Ball’s future still uncertain, Giddey has stepped up as a floor general and a key piece in the Bulls’ developing core. His chemistry with Zach LaVine and Coby White is undeniable, and under Billy Donovan’s system, Giddey is thriving. Letting him walk would be a massive setback to the team’s momentum.

  2. BIG Y FOR YES!!

Was a slow start for Giddey during his first season with the bulls. After the all star break he looked like a completely different player. Averaging nearly a triple double over the last 19 games. Look forward to having him back in the Windy City!!

  3. OKC traded for our player and won the chip. We traded for Giddey and Lost in the playoffs in to the Heat with Tyler Hero. Fire the coach and trade Giddy. Stat cow and soft serve president of universe, can get a new contract with the g league. Slow, earth bound basketball players can play well on offense, but I couldn’t care less. The sluggish PG taking the ball out fast is not a style of play. It is a white flag, a lack of defense and will never win a chip. You want to be the Warriors? Play some defense.

  4. Trade Ayo for Cam Whitmore and Go Sign Dalano Banton. Dudes a Free agent with Tons of potential with real Minutes. I’m confused how Gms don’t see it.

  5. Josh Giddey . Future all star . If we can lock him up for $25 mil a year that’ll be a steal .

Would love a Matas jersey . I think we nailed the #12 pick this year too

  6. Good analysis. Jaren Jackson career 5.5 rebounds per game as a PF. Giddey 7.5 rebounds per game as a PG. If Giddey is the player he was the last 25 games of last year for a full season and the Bulls are winning and a top 6 seed, he's not only an all-star but starting to enter MVP candidate territory.

  7. Even though this is post All-Star break numbers but the 21 ppg 10.7 rpg and 9.3 assists per game while shooting 45.7% from beyond the arc and just 22yro I feel this is just a snippet of what to expect from Giddey. He played great with Coby and the rest of this young group. Coby played great off the ball like we knew he would and not have to worry about trying to score and run the offense. This is why I want the bulls to sign him.

  8. Maybe the reason why they didn't get a deal done yet was due to Giddey being out the country. He just came back I believe yesterday

  9. Can we be honest why the Bulls are hesistant? The Bulls have to decide can they win with Giddey as the lead and I think they've concluded NO! It's not about stats but winning in the playoffs and potentially a championship. If you think about Giddey's struggles at OKC, he could not play with a real star because he believe he is that guy and the ball should be in his hands not Shai. But the problem, he couldn't even adjust. Let's say Giannis wants to come to Chicago. Giannnis is very ball dominant. Unless Giddey is a great scorer, Giannis will not feel confident with the ball in Giddey's hands. So the ball will have to go to Giannis and Giddey has already proven he can't operate with a superstar without the ball. So how does that work for the Bulls recruiting? Now if I were the Bulls, the max I would give Giddey is the max I the Knicks gave Brunson, 4 years, $104 million, that's $26 million a year. Now that was Brunson's prove it contract. Giddey is young so I would offer that for him to prove it and put the Bulls in the playoffs for an extension like given to Brunson.

  10. Jaren Jackson has a defensive rating of 108, one of the best. He's a 6'10 power forward who has made it to the playoffs. If the Bulls had the opportunity to trade for him, THEY WOULD. 🤣 Josh Giddey can test the market to see what he would get. Let the Bulls use the market to determine it. Don't rush and give him an amount without knowing how other teams value him.

  11. Can we go back to the Knicks with Brunson? Brunson came to the Knicks with a deal of 4 years 104 million or 26 million a year. With his success, the knicks gave him an extension. I think that's a good deal. Give Josh around that amount and let him get the Bulls to the playoffs for an extension.

  12. It doesn't matter what I think Giddy will be overpaid. He's a turnover prone role player at best. Looking at stats versus watching the game gives you a better perspective on Josh Giddy. I would offer 68 million for 4 years. The question you should be asking is why isn't any other teams reaching out to Josh Giddy? 🤔

  13. Giddey, Patrick Williams, Vuc, Lavine, pay guys like this instead of game changing STARS.
Bulls will not see a Championship or the Finals when these are your BIG SIGNINGS..
