Knicks CHANGING Starting Lineup! Insider Provides HUGE UPDATE On Yabusele’s Role w/ NY | Knicks News
The Knicks are making changes to their starting lineup and an NBA insider provides an update on how Gerson Yabaselli will be utilized by the Knicks next season. We’re going to break down all of these latest reports today. If you’re enjoying the content, please go ahead and hit that subscribe button because it could really support all the great content that we’re creating for you. And now, let’s get started. The Knicks are changing their starting lineup. During the regular season, we saw Josh Hart start for this Knicks team, but then during the postseason, we saw a change to this starting lineup where we saw Mitchell Robinson get the start instead. This was not a temporary change. According to reports, this is a permanent change to the starting lineup. And next season, we’re going to see Mitchell Robinson starting right alongside Carl Anthony Towns. Shout out to NBA Insider with SNY Ian Begley for giving us this following information here. According to him, obviously the Knicks head coach right now is Mike Brown and ultimately he’ll decide the starting lineup/rotations for New York. But the fact that the Knicks factored in Yabaselli’s role behind the starting lineup featuring Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson tells you that there is some internal support for that starting five. So according to Ian Begley here internally what the Knicks want to see next season is a starting lineup of Jaylen Brunson, Mikuel Bridges, OG Anobi, Carl Anthony Towns, and Mitchell Robinson. And honestly, if you were watching the postseason like I was and you were watching how the Knicks were starting games because Mitchell Robinson was in the starting lineup, then you’ll understand why the Knicks are making this change. Before Robinson was starting each and every time, for the most part, New York would get off the slow starts. Then you start Mitchell Robinson and magically New York is not getting off the slow starts anymore. Why is that? That’s because Mitchell Robinson is putting that fear into opposing players looking to penetrate. And anybody coming inside the paint, they potentially have a fear that their shot is going to be blocked. Even more than that, Mitchell Robinson and his rebounds, second chance opportunities. That’s what he does for the Knicks better than any player on the roster. And because of that, he helps the Knicks get extra possessions. And those extra possessions help New York convert on points and that’s why we’re not getting off the slow starts. That’s one of the main reasons New York is altering their starting lineup. But there’s another reason Josh Hart, whether he starts or whether he comes off the bench, his energy doesn’t change. His role doesn’t change. Even his minutes really don’t change. And the way he approaches the game, that doesn’t change either. So, what you’re telling me is whether Josh Hart starts or he comes off the bench, he is going to give you the same type of production. That’s why in my opinion, you put him on the bench. Maybe you could start him depending on the team and the player he’s going up against, but more times than not, he’s going to be coming off the bench. And that’s because his minutes are likely not going to change. But his impact, what he’s going to give this Knicks team, it’s never going to change whether he’s starting or coming off the bench. And you have to love that with Josh Hart. He doesn’t care what happens in terms of his role. All he wants is for this Knicks team to be competitive and win each and every game. And if he has to come off the bench in order for that to happen, he is going to do that. This move makes sense for the Knicks from top to bottom. It strengthens their starting unit and it also strengthens their bench unit by moving Josh Hart there. But the Knicks made other moves yesterday to strengthen their bench. They added one of the most desired big men in free agency to their bench. Gerson Yabaselli is a Nick. But as soon as the Knicks signed him, many Nick fans had the same question as I did. How are the Knicks going to utilize him next season? What is his role going to be next season? But even more than that, how are the Knicks going to utilize Gerson Yabaselli to get better as a team? Well, shout out to NBA insider with SNY, Ian Begley, for breaking down all of this following information for us. According to Begley, something I found interesting, the Knicks value Yabaselli’s versatility off the bench, particularly behind the starting lineup featuring Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson. Begley continues here by stating, “The Knicks and the Nuggets were the finalists for Yabaselli, who had a strong season in Philadelphia last season.” As Jeremy Cohen of Knicks film school notes, the Knicks actually benefited from the Sixers bottoming out at the end of the season. The salary for the number three overall pick in the NBA draft left Philadelphia hardpressed to resign Yabaelli and Quinton Grimes. The Knicks, as you could imagine, were thrilled to land Yabaseli. Entering free agency, it seemed unlikely that the mid-level exception would be enough to land the big man, but the player option probably helped the Knicks push for Yabaselli. Denver was aggressive in its pursuit with Joker said to be a big fan of the potential Yabaselli addition. So, it’s absolutely clear Yabaselli’s role will be coming off of the bench for the Knicks. That’s not a surprise, but it seems like New York wants to use him as the primary backup to either Carl Anthony Towns or Mitchell Robinson. Probably based on impact and also which one of the two is in foul trouble. I fully believe everything that Ian Begley is stating here. This is exactly how they’re going to run this Knicks team. The bench unit we already know Josh Hart, Gerson Yabaselli, they will be primary players off the bench for New York. And the starting lineup, Jaylen Brunson, Muel Bridges, OG Anobi, Carl Anthony Towns, and Mitchell Robinson. That is the Knicks new starting five. That is permanent. That is not going to change. And in my opinion, I love it. I love that starting lineup. I love having a double big lineup for this Knicks team starting out because in my opinion, if Mitchell Robinson was fully healthy to start the season last year, it would have been Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson starting anyways. The only reason that didn’t happen is because he was injured. And even when he returned, the reason why the Knicks didn’t immediately make the shift to Josh Hart going to the bench and Mitchell Robinson starting is because he was just coming off of rehab and a significant injury. He’s not going to start. He needs to first get into game shape and that’s why they did what they did. But right now, none of those things exist. Mitchell Robinson good, fully healthy, not injured, in the lab, already working. Josh Hart, he’s good. And now he knows he’s coming off the bench next year for the Knicks. And Mitchell Robinson will be starting. I am so hyped for this next season to start. Leon Rose in this Knicks front office. They keep making significant move after significant move in free agency. Great moves, moves that nobody expected them to make. And right now, they’re probably on the phone lines talking to multiple teams trying to make a trade that nobody thought possible. But at least as of right now, we know the bench unit and we know who’s going to be the starting unit. And we have to thank this Knicks front office, especially Leon Rose for allowing us to have these units set this way. If he does not make the moves that he’s made in free agency, the signings that he’s made since becoming the president of this Knicks organization, we’re not here. We’re not even close to being a championship contender. But because of Leon and everything he’s done for this Knicks team, we were this close to the NBA Finals. And now with all the moves we’ve made in free agency and the moves we’re about to make, this Knicks team is being set up to go all the way to the NBA Finals next season. And I cannot wait for that day because I’m going to be just as hyped then as I am right now. But what about you guys? What do you think about the Knicks changing their starting lineup? And how do you feel about New York and their role for Gerson Yabaselli next season? Let me know how you feel about that in the comments section below, guys. Because honestly, I would love to hear from you. But that’s gonna do it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it, and if you did, go ahead and smash that like button, leave a comment below, and of course, guys, please subscribe to the channel. Until next time, Nick fans, take care of yourself, your families, and each other. Peace and

I’ve always said, they need to involve Robinson in pick and roll plays with Brunson. He is a strong finisher and he goes up without hesitation. Not like KAT a Softee. Robinson is capable of averaging 12/10.
Pick and roll this year knicks
Hart is more useful as someone who can come off the bench to give them a boost when they need it and KAT plays much better at the 4 (especially defensivenely). Now that there are enough bigs on the bench and a coach willing to use them they can keep Mitch's mins low enough to minimize the risk of injury. I think they will be much better this year and have as good a chance as anyone to win the whole thing.
If that's the route they are going we could just put Yabusele in the Starting line up and bring mitch in the second unit make sure mitch doesn't get hurt
Mitch starting means injury and we won't have him for the playoffs.
Where are u getting this information that mitch is a guaranteed starter next season?
We didn’t get a Coach yet
We’ll see what the new head coach does
The starting lineup will keep changing.
we got two slashers, bucket getters!!
I love Josh Hart’s energy and defense off the bench a lot. But if he comes off the bench with Clarkson and/or (especially and) Hukporti, that’s not a lot of spacing.
Mich isn't a scorer I am not feeling him being injury prone. I would trade Michael Robinson he can't even make foul shots. Come on people I am just looking at the facts of the game.
Benching josh hart after he broke triple double records is crazy
His minutes have to change we don’t need him playing 35+ minutes when we now have Clarkson, Yabusele Deuce,Hukporti, Hart, plus the pups!!! WE GOOD!! Orange and blue skys baby ORANGE AND BLUE SKYS!! 💪🏽💪🏽
This is my line up on 2k25😂😂
I think the knicks is gonna get Giannis for Kat
Relax. There was no significant signing. Giving too much credit to Leon Rose. Bridges is a soft butterfly.
Nobody calls brunson soft and his defense is worse than Towns.
Towns average 24 and 12 think about that 24 and 12 with 3 point guards in Payne Mcbride and brunson and NONE of them are pass first point guards. Back off of Towns please. That man helped us tremendously this year. He took it to Miami heat. He gave adebayo the business. We never gave Miami the business.
Mitch is the X factor, think about it during the regular season they did not have a single win against any top teams, Mitch comes back they make it to the ECF. They’re a very good team but without Mitch they were way to exposed on defense and just couldn’t keep up with the top echelon teams a full 48. They have to use him wisely with the injuries but that’s what you have a bench for
Robinson won’t stay healthy. He never does
I think the Knicks should start Guerschon at the power forward position.
PG. Bruson
SG. Bridges
SF. OG
PF. Yabusele
C. Kat
Praying for a fully healthy Mitchell Robinson
I wonder if we will bring back Payne, he brought energy.
Yea but Yubisele needs to rebound that’s where his weakness is
Kat and robinson. And OG as a small forward and use the new free agent as PF
I say we need another center in case Robinson injures himself
I say we need another center in case Robinson injures himself
Hart comes off bench. He will do great
Clarkson also in bench.
Will they still keep precious and Payne???
That was the question Thibbs got hit with an those exit interviews.
Why didn't Thibbs work Mitch at 5 and KAT 4 before playoffs?😂
I remember ex players were asking that question too.
Mitchell Robinson was insanely great in the playoffs
But in the regular season hes lazy and very injury prone. He can stay on the bench
You killed it again @Troy great ep.
#2 behind @Chris he was 'Scoop'in‼️
@CP crashed out getting emo..& Negative Nelly'in..i didnt even finish watching him…but he my Guy..tonight he came in like Josh Hart… #3
🧡🗽💙
I watched EVRYBODY‼️I only listed MY Top 3
😂😂😂😂😂
(I know somebody gonna be salty)😂😂😂😂😂
Knicks still don’t have a true SG. Could’ve been Quentin Grimes.
I LOVE OG AT THE 3!!!!!!!! much better. remember when he showed up and JU was still the 4 and they steamrolled everyone and his +/- was the best in nba history in his first like 15 games?
With hart ,Mcbride hukporti,Clarkson, yabusele
No Duhhh… But y'all were stuck on Thibbs… No one is scared of Towns defensively. He is not a defensive anchor. It was very clear that they needed a true center to play the 5 and then Towns can play the 4 as he should.
I hope every and anyone on the Knicks team gets healing or surgery on issues that are constant. So, whatever line up they play on… Past issues, wont hinder us from being champions.
How you know that we just got a coach
So now question is who’s playing off the bench at shooting guard and point , will deuce play point ?
Maybe you can do a video on the guys that the knicks can possibly sign with the remaining vet minimum deal they have left
They have to play at least 10 players a night. And those coming off the bench have to try 10 times harder so there’s no easing up on the momentum.
This was a great signing. Yabu gonna be a crowd favorite.
I did a little research and Brown will be good with this team. He’s the opposite of Thibs with rotations, he’ll play 10 throughout the season and 9 in the playoffs. Coached under great coaches and has had 2 coach of the year. So let’s go Knicks.
Jalen Brunson needs a secondary ball handler in that starting lineup!
Use him the way he played for the Olympics
I agree with starting Mitchell Robinson, it will add more offensive opportunities and defense for the starters. Also, KAT's been playing out of position all season, which wasnt fair to him. He's a true foward and not a a center. Then know the starters will have a much stronger support with this much proved bench. Even if they have injuries the bench will be thst good to support the cause. So Im excited about next season.
Love those moves!
