NBA Free Agency: Celtics Sign Josh Minott #nba #celtics #nbafreeagency

Celtics fans, we have another signing as Boston has agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $5 million with former Timberwolves forward Josh Minat. And this is an interesting signing for Boston as a player who hasn’t had much experience so far in the NBA in his three seasons in the league. Played his college ball at Memphis. He’s 6’8. He’s got a 611 wingspan, can project as a pretty solid defender, but hasn’t really flashed much on the offensive end so far in his NBA uh life so far. Hopefully um we’ll see him maybe play uh some spot minutes off of the bench, you know, and who knows? Like the Celtics are taking these swings on lowrisk players like Luca Garza and Josh May not and hopefully they can, you know, maybe hit on one of these guys on a cheap two-year deal. So another signing for Boston. Make sure you are subscribed to Celtics today to get all the latest Celtics free agency updates.

  1. I’m sure Brad Stevens must think that these guys he’s signing for little money are still highly trainable and he can bring them into the system where they can still get the chance of starting for the Celtics

  2. We have a lot of wings right now but not enough big men, which leads me to believe that a trade is on the horizon. I don’t know for who but it’s happening and I don’t think it’s with JB or White

  3. Everyone who’s complaining needs to stop being delusional WE ARE NOT WINNING SHIT WITHOUT TATUM we need to just focus on keep players who’ll be there when he’s healthy and giving our new players time to develop into something good when we get Tatum back there’s no point in going all in on a big name player when Tatum’s out the whole damn season

  4. It makes sense. Tatum is out, salary cap needs some work (not going to even get into what big salaries might be moving), but a couple two year deals at basically league min. This year both can likely get some playing time on a Celtics team that has a chance of not being overly competitive and see if they can be legit role players next year.

And that's kind of what both those guys need. Wolves fan here. I was sad to see Garza go because he's our favorite end of the bench guy. And he's got very good NBA offensive skills. He's a scorer. He can get you 13-6 in 20 minutes. But he'll give up 15 along the way. Maybe with some playing time he can figure out how to compensate for his foot speed.

Minott, I really still wanted Minnesota to keep him. He's got a high level rotational ceiling. He is excellent at getting blocks and steals. He runs the floor in transition, threat on the cuts for dunks and lobs. With a slightly improved 3 from the corner he'd be a 3 and D wing… If he can bring that mental consistency. Every year he gets his way into some rotational minutes then flubs it with some bad decisions. Last year probably got the longest look and you'd see his little mistakes, then came in a game, got back cut on out of the gate for an easy dunk and 14 seconds of playing time ended his rotational minutes.

But there's a LOT of talent there. And with a season to go out there with a bigger leash… he might catch up and be an impact reserve by the time Tatum is back. And if he steps up sooner than expected… good.

  5. Build skill get more money is being disciplined again for Boston the real ways
including basics self control guidance maturity levels in check form as a Lakers Boston type branch to be a super team and possibly a modern team as the ol school acts

  6. Trade Jalen Brown and Hauser and shed 72 million in salary and sign Damian Lillard for 25 million a year, for 3 years. Tank for 2025 and hope for a lottery pick. We'd be under the cap and set up for the 26-27 seasons when both Lillard and Tatum would be healthy.
