Duncan Robinson SIGNS 3-YR $48M Deal With The DETROIT PISTONS!
What up? It’s your boy Wall Street and I’m back with more NBA free agency news. It is the third day of free agency. Um, and this uh deal happened yesterday, I believe. Uh, but Duncan Robinson will be signing a three-year $48 million deal with the Detroit Pistons.
Detroit. And, you know, good for Dro. You know, honestly, I think this is a this is a good deal for him. I think this is a good move for the Pistons as well. Um, this had to come via signing trade. Um, so I think Simone uh Fonteo was going to the Heat in return um so that the Pistons can sign Duncan Robinson to this deal. Uh they lost Tim Hardaway Jr. uh to Denver. And Malik Beasley is currently involved in a federal gambling investigation uh for prop bets that may be tied to him or allegedly are tied to him from the 23 24 NBA season when he was a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. Uh before that, uh media is reporting that Malik Beasley was in the process of discussing a three-year 42 million deal with the Pistons and those talks have stalled due to the ongoing investigation. So, in light of that, it makes sense why the Pistons are signing Duncan Robinson. I think it’s a really good move. I think Duncan Robinson is going to play extremely well with Kate Cunningham. Um, obviously Jay and Ivy was also injured, you know, throughout I think he got injured like the first day of the year. I think he got injured like January 1st or second. He was out for the rest of the season. So, he wasn’t a part of their playoff run. He’s obviously a piece that is going to come back and be impactful. He’s also a very active full force, relentless guard that can play the one or the two. Um, so I think he’s also going to be able to, you know, help Duncan Robinson, you know, get open shots, right? And Duncan Robinson is one of the best three-point shooters in the league. So, this is a really good deal. I think this is probably the best thing they could have did, you know, noting that they did lose Tim Hardaway Jr. and probably will lose Malik Beasley. Um, cuz I I think they’re just not going to sign him. you know, maybe they do, but I don’t think anyone wants to commit to a guy who might be in serious legal trouble, right? And might obviously if he has gambling allegations that are tied to the NBA and he’s in the NBA, I mean, I think if you’re a professional athlete, you can’t gamble on like anything or any sport really. Um, and you can get in serious trouble, but gambling on your own sport can result in you getting banned from the league. You know, we obviously saw the Jonte Porter situation turn out that way. He’s not as big of a name as Malik Beasley. If Malik Beasley is, you know, going down that same path, that’s a much bigger story. And the Jonte Porter story was huge. So, um, I’m hoping, you know, Malik Beasley is, you know, going to be able to figure this out and he’s able to return to the league cuz he just had one of the best seasons of his career. You know, like he finished second in six man of the year voting. big part of the Pistons playoff, you know, push. You know, the Pistons went from the worst team in the league to the six seed in the Eastern Conference. So, I can’t say enough about this team. They deserve all the praise and it’s going to be a new look next season, obviously, now having Duncan Robinson, but, you know, we’ll see what happens. They they also have Paul Reed now.
