the NBA script has just been leaked the Houston Rockets are now going to be the 2026 NBA champions okay that’s a lie but I think they have a really good chance this year and let me tell you why firstly you’re probably thinking you’re talking about the same Houston Rockets team that got booted out in the first round by the Warriors right yes I am but three things has happened this off season that completely changes everything for them and it’s happened in literally like maybe a week let me let me show you here we go all right so we’ll get the first and obvious thing out of the way that hopefully everyone watching this video already knows about but if you don’t know about it yeah that happened the Houston Rockets traded for Kevin Durant now that in itself obviously you get Kevin Durant your team’s going to hopefully be better unless you’re the Phoenix Suns let’s not talk about them anymore so that right there by itself is good great for the Rockets obviously going to make them a better team but let’s see who they traded away because if you guys don’t know last year there was one guy that was very inconsistent for the Rockets that really needed to be consistent for the Rockets and that guy right there is Jaylen Green a player that they just traded away for Kevin Durant who is quite possibly maybe the most consistent playoff player of all time besides like LeBron or Jordan and if you’re up there with them you’re doing pretty good so bang that right there got them better now you’ll notice here too they traded away Dylan Brooks as well this was one of their best defenders this guy guarded basically the best player on the other team every night if I’m thinking correctly i don’t know who else would do that hey editor me here i don’t know why I just completely forgot that Aean Thompson exists in this part of the video but yeah either way Dylan Brooks was very important for the defensive side of this team he was their pest he was their their villain out there so when the Rockets traded him away they’re like “Shoot we got to get something to replace him.” And guess what happened literally today as I’m filming this boom they go around and they sign Dorian Finny Smith for a four-year $53 million deal he’s been replaced we’re good now Finny Smith is basically what Dylan Brooks did except his jump shot is a little bit less ugly and he’s not as annoying but he’s still a really good defender just as good as as Dylan Brooks so there’s your replacement for Brooks back so basically what the Rockets have just done is they’ve traded Jaylen Green for Kevin Durant they’ve replaced their score for a score that’s 10 times better no offense to Jaylen Green i mean he’s a great player but it’s Kevin Durant they traded away Dylan Brooks for him too and then instantly replaced him so it didn’t matter and then all they did is they traded away their number 10 pick from this year and five second round picks that’s the only real thing they’ve lost from this Kevin Durant trade everything else they’ve gotten better right now and this isn’t even the end i’m going to go over one more thing that the Rockets did today and then I’m going to talk about their whole roster because their roster is insane this is the final thing that they’ve done as of right now they might do more i don’t know boom three-year $21 million deal for Clint Capella you’re probably wondering why did they do this i don’t really know they got Alfred Sangun and Steven Adams they got two centers that have played great for them they played great for him in the playoffs this was not a weak point in their roster but they just got a third string center that can start on some teams do you know how deep of a roster they got now if this dude is going to be maybe their 12th man do you know how insane that is and this opens up so many more things for the Rockets they now have an actual lob threat and think about the pick and roll game with Van Vleet and Clinkabella it’s beautiful now let’s look at their roster because this might be the craziest part about this team i think they have the deepest team in the entire NBA deeper than the Celtics deeper than the Thunder let me show you how many players they got that are worth getting minutes right now okay so we got this sorted by salary number one we got Kevin Durant obviously he deserves minutes then we got Fred Van Vleet then we got Clint Capella who if you think he doesn’t deserve minutes I don’t know what you’re talking about this guy’s still a starter level player on maybe half the teams in the NBA that might be an overestimate but he can definitely get minutes somewhere then we got Dorian Finny Smith who might start some games for the Rockets we don’t know then we got Steven Adams who will be their second string center he’ll come off the bench and he might even get some really important minutes in the playoffs cuz he is a big old strong man then we got a sophomore coming out of their rookie year Reed Shepard you guys might have forgot this dude was even on the Rockets i think he’s going to have a great season this year if he gets minutes he genuinely might only play in the G- League this year and it won’t even be his fault this guy was a second overall pick last year and he’s going to be like the 13th 14th man on this team but let’s keep going jabari Smith he actually just signed a 5-year extension with the Rockets he obviously deserves minutes clearly the Rockets think that too they just signed him for 122 million then we scroll down one more aean Thompson obviously deserves minutes probably a top four top five player on this team then we got Jeff Green jeff Green’s just a vet guy he’s probably not going to get many minutes but he can play he’s not going to go out there and just have a negative box score every every time he’s out there he’s he’s good he can shoot he’s still athletic i think he still gets a poster dunk at least one time a year i don’t know how he does it then we got Jan Tate who who’s really their like sixth or seventh man somehow i don’t know he could start on most teams I think then we scroll down we got Alfred Zangon who is their number one option and their starting center well maybe not number one option anymore for Kevin Durant on the team now but he’s up there aaron Holidayiday a guy who is a defensive menace out there he will hawk you down fullcourt press you the whole time he deserves some minutes throw down one more we got Tari E who’s probably one of their sixth seventh eighth men somewhere around there coming off the bench he deserves minutes and then the last guy for me is Cam Whitmore who Cam Whitmore just like Reed Shepard is very underrated on this team i genuinely think Cam Whitmore if he does get traded there’s been rumors if he does get traded to a different team he could come out and average 20 plus points per game next year if he’s given that the chance if he’s given the chance he can do that so yeah the Rockets have about 13 guys on their roster that are deserving of minutes right now and we all know that’s not going to happen but the fact that that’s even possible and the fact that there’s that many rosters that Eimeme Udoka who by the way one of the best coaches in the league i think we forgot about that since everything happened eimeme Udoka has so many options with this team so many roster options it’s insane like look at this this is a genuine lineup you could have you could play Aean Thompson at the point it might be a risky move but he he can dribble the ball then you could play Dorian Finny Smith at the two Kevin Durant at the three Jabari Smith at the four and then Alfred Senon at the five the shortest player out there would be 67 do you know how tall of a lineup that is think about doing that against a team like the Suns that they just traded with they’d be dead in the water it’s crazy they’re they have so many options so yeah that’s why I think the Houston Rockets might be the 2026 NBA champions obviously they still have to go against the reigning champions the OKC Thunder who is just an amazing team and they’re going to be just as good next year as long as injuries don’t plague them but they got a chance i’m just saying they got a chance they can go far in these playoffs look out for them this season subscribe
