Miami Heat Fans Riled Up with Calls To Trade Bam Adebayo and Start Over
Welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. If you guys could subscribe that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by as we have this lovely Saturday night here. Your Miami Heat. They won in the summer league opener today. They got another one tomorrow. We recaped that in another video if you guys want to go check that out. We got into all of that. But today, heat social media was set ablaze because the great Iraman, who referred to me as the ranter two weeks ago when I saw him in the media room on draft night. Well, the next time I see Ira, I may refer to him as the detonator because Ira Winterman basically threw the old John Bar style blow up the heat. Well, specifically bam bio. He wrote basically uh the column of should the Miami Heat consider moving on from Bam Adabio? And look, my first reaction to it is no. Uh I I don’t think the Miami Heat should do that. Uh and that’s basically, you know, going off of a couple of things. One, I think Bambio has shown himself to be a key contributor to very very very good teams. I don’t think I need I don’t I don’t look at when you’re building this thing out. I don’t think anybody looks at BAM and thinks, “Yeah, that guy’s going to be a problem come playoffs. That’s going to be a problem. We’re not going to need that come contending for a championship.” And I do think that when you’re building your teams out and especially deciding on who you invest in, while it may not be like the flashiest investment for the Miami Heat to have Max money dug into him, um you know forc the guy’s never going to be played off the court in a playoff series. He’s one of the best defenders in the league. He’s one of the most durable stars out there with stars dropping like flies left and right. What has Bam missed? Like he’s had one significant injury in his career because of a fluke thumb injury. the guy keeps himself in in just incredible impeccable shape. He’s always available. Um, and he’s the he’s the captain. Like, he’s the captain of the Miami Heat. And if the Miami Heat are not going to go into blow it up mode, um, which they don’t appear that they are, I I don’t think of this as a real prudent conversation to have around the team right now. Now look, to be fair to Ira, with the way the team has been the last two years, and he closes his column with moving on from Autobio would certainly jolt the status quo, but it could also shake up the status quo. First of all, a great line. Second of all, um I think that’s I I I think that’s easier it’s easier put that way, but when we go to these situations about what teams has it worked for tank and a lot of people are going to go to OKC and they’re going to go to the Rockets, but if you look at a a team that the Miami Heat were kind of trying to shake some of the fruit of of a a detonated franchise, they’re still trying to kind of find their way out of that. And that if you look to a team like the Utah Jazz, trade Rudy Gobear obviously for and and I would think the Heat would hope to get something like that for B about four first round picks plus for Rudy Gobear. Tons of picks for somebody like Donovan Mitchell. But they traded those two keystones and they are still trying to find their way out and they have just just drafted somebody who’s kind of happy to be there. I don’t really know where they’re at with that. um and having their own pick this year. Should they be as worried if it get if it does get to a point at some point this year if it’s looking bleak? Do more stuff does do more things go on the table or do they like kind of you know hold things back a little bit? Allah Dallas Allah a Philly and then see what that reset looks for them next year. Sure. Um, but I just think that, you know, there’s something about the idea of moving on from BAM that I just think is a couple things came to mind for me. One, I just think that you’re you’re looking at the wrong place of trying to revamp your franchise. Um, because you’ve seen what his value is over several postseason runs that have gone deep. Whereas you look at the other guy who’s going to get paid real soon in Tyler Herro. And we haven’t really seen that, you know, since his rookie season. You know, there’s been flashes, you know, a couple of moments maybe in 22 where the Heat come up short and then he has the groin injury and maybe he would have come back for the finals. They go on their finals run with him having the broken hand. And this isn’t like an addition by subtraction thing. I really have defended the kid uh many of times with that. But you saw what the guy getting called out by name from the Cavaliers last series. And I still think that there is more proving ground that has to be there, especially if he’s going to be getting uh or expecting, you know, a $50 million payday. Even Bam’s got to wear that crown right now with being where he’s at and no Jimmy Butler being around. So, he’s not blameless on all this, but I do think that there has been more proven there in his postseason value. Did both of these guys need to give more or bring things along more from what happened last year? Especially with the team still thinking that there was some Jimmy Butler hangover. Man, I didn’t want to hear that stuff when I was like reading that stuff in Barry Jackson’s column. I’m like, you got to be bleeping kidding me. These are not 23 and 22 year olds anymore. These guys are 25 and 27, you know, with a ton of basketball experience. Um, so maybe they were put into new places. But the other thing with Bam is he’d have never really been in that position, right? Like where the guy who’s an allstar in his prime, they’re just moving on from and the only time like I’m trying to think of like I guess trading Glenn Rice for Alonzo and obviously the Alonzo became like the cornerstone for everything that is the Miami Heat. who’s Pat Riley’s guy, but like who’s the best talent that they’ve moved on from at 28? And people are acting like, “Oh my god, he’s 28. All right, he’s not 35, guys.” Like, he’s not It’s not like if you trade Bam at about 29 in a couple of months, uh or if you go through the season and Bam is 29 or 30, people are going to be like, “Oh, man. Damaged goods. He’s so old. Like, we just we just can’t not at that age.” Like, no, he’s legitimately in the midst of his basketball prime. So, I don’t know why there’s this rush. uh to go do it. But I I am one but I one does have to wonder though for the Heat and and this is the thing that kind of disturbed me about the Kevin Durant thing is you know what do they think Bam and Tyler to be as a duo. Um because if you don’t add an all-time score for them or don’t think that adding an all-time score to them makes any sizable difference to what they can do, then what do you believe them to be? So, are the Miami Heat holding meetings right now or thoughts right now thinking that yeah, maybe it is time like he’s rock solid. He’s going to keep us here, but can he elevate? You know, is he just is he the guy who’s just going to hold everything together? But I don’t know, man. I I I I I don’t think that he’s old enough that you’re at that moment. I think that he’d only do that if is if he comes to them and is like, “Hey, I want to move on and I want to I I want to be somewhere else.” But I don’t think that this roster, See, the thing, and this is the thing that I think has everybody a little miffed right now. I don’t think this roster is going to be bad enough to where he’s even going to want to do that. And I don’t think that he’s going to be in a spot where he wants to let go of the rope because I do think it means I do think it means something to Bam to be one of the franchise guys for Miami and be up there with all the of those guys with championships and he wants to be in that class and he knows that he has to do that. I do think that being welcomed into the fraternity by Wade and Hlam and Zo and all that stuff. I do think there’s some that level of him that that wants to stick it out. And honestly, like I don’t and this is the other thing. I was talking to my buddy uh Stunt Steve about this because we were texting about it back and forth, right? Um as I saw Barry Jackson was getting into this on social media. Everybody’s going crazy about this. And then I was also like wondering to myself, I I I really wonder on Bam’s front like who get because you only do it if you get like the treasure trove of picks like all the picks and and everything you could get. You’re going to get like a Godfather type deal for Bamabio. And I’m trying to think right now like well who are you getting that from, right? Like who are the teams that you’re looking at and you’re like, “Oh, we’re gonna get their best one of their best young guys and all of the picks from them because they just want to jolt the system. They want to just really run rough shot it.” And I’m like, the most obvious one to me, and I I don’t like that I’m doing this because I don’t want to trade Bam out of IO, but like the most obvious one to me is San Antonio because you have that forward fit next to WBY. That’s essentially what they’re waiting on with the Giannis thing, is it not? So, like, could you get the jump on them? Figure out the salary, you get their young assets, will you get a castle in the in return? I don’t know. But I I felt like that was the most obvious team. He gets to play with his guy De’arren Fox. He’s next to Webinama. That’s probably the best defensive front court that’s going to wreak havoc on the NBA. Um you’re going to watch him win probably multiple titles and you’re going to cry yourself to sleep. So like to me, I was looking at the teams. I’m like that’s probably the most obvious team that would go after him, I think. um cuz they’re trying to get into the game for Giannis. But if they thought they could jump in line and be like, “Yeah, but we can get Bam, who’s younger, probably doesn’t need the ball as much, fits right next to WBY, gets to play with his BFF and De’Aran Fox.” Um and then all the P and then you figure out what the pieces are, and Miami is getting back of the the bevy of picks. I would hope that they could get Harper back, like you could get the number two pick back if that was something that was going to be there. But once you get out of that, it’s like, all right, you go to Houston. Like, all right, let’s go to the other team that’s going to be in the Wyama sweep stakes. Houston. Does that Does that make sense? Does that team make sense for them? Like they got I mean, essentially like KD’s kind of their four uh I guess are you doing BAM for Shingoon and you’re just like, hey, you’re getting BAM, Shingon assets. um you know and and that’s kind of the the best thing you’re getting and then fitting him with Kell like is that the most viable place where you’re at right now? I don’t know. I um so I mean like could you get E back in that trade? That that’s a that’s a that’s a tough that’s a tough I I just don’t know if that they’re a team that’s looking at Adabio and things like yeah that’s obvious. Boston I I think that’s the thing that probably if you’re Miami like you’re not even going to think about dealing him to Boston cuz that just feels like you’re putting him with Jason Tatum and that’s going to ruin your life and like are you going to get Jaylen Brown back in that deal? Like what do you what are the pieces Derek White like you’re tra you’re we’re going to trade [ __ ] damn auto bio for Derek White like so I don’t know I I and and just the idea of him in that green just makes me literally want to vomit all over my computer which I just don’t want. Indiana’s got really nothing to trade. Lakers don’t have any don’t have enough picks. OKC they have chat. They just won. Why would they want to do that? Uh the Clippers, I mean the Clippers have Zubach who just had a really really good season. Um made all defensive team over Bama which is a joke. But like what are the pieces that they got that you’re just like oh yeah that’s that’s good. That’s that’s that’s the thing that that that that wets me whistle. makes me feel absolutely fantastic about this situation. Like I don’t know. I don’t I don’t I don’t think that they got anything that that really intrigues Miami. Uh like Denver, what the hell does Denver have to like you’re going to trade for what? Jamal Murray and I mean he’s going to be new Aaron go I mean they just trade MPJ to Brooklyn. Uh Minnesota trading Randall to Miami and their picks. Dallas, you could do an AD for Bam swap a little bit younger with Cooper Flag and then that he could flip AD. So like I’m just I’m just saying this because I’m like I’m going through team like there’s not a lot of teams I’m I’m just saying it like this. Like there’s a lot of teams I look through this and I’m like I don’t see a ton of teams you can get a hall for BAM on a bio for like a like a Kings Ransom. Um maybe Detroit, like if Detroit wanted to speed things up, like they just invested in um they just invested obviously getting Duncan Robinson and you know could you pride Duran from them and they you’re b because you’re Duran plays basically like rookie and sophomore bam on a bio. So could you get like Jaylen Duran bring him in? Does that fit with Kel Wear? you know, uh, like if you could get him and Oscar Thompson, is that something that would intrigue Detroit? And again, like, do the picks, now that they would be in more contention, does the picks appease you enough? And then the only other one that I I thought was like, so I think it’s San Antonio would make a ton of sense if they were going to do it. And again, I hate having this conversation, and then I’m going to say how much I hate this conversation. And then the only other one that seemed to make a lot of sense to me, um, although I did I did mention Chicago, we get Bzelis and then we have like the Lithuanian mafia here with Bzelis and Casper Jakonis. More syllables than you know what to do on the uh at the Vice City Factory making your jersey. Um, and then the other one that I was thinking of that was like maybe is Charlotte. If you char because Charlotte just traded Mark Williams, you trade him to Charlotte. But I would want like the Heat to get Brandon Miller back at some like they would I would want them to get I know they’re not going to get LaMelo Ball because that’s like the face of their franchise. But I would want them to get like two of their young guys and their picks to get that back. And I don’t know like obviously Bam would get the homecoming there. He would be North Carolina king returning home. Um but then you’re playing him four times a year. Jesus. Like that’s going to be uh that’s going to be awkward. I say all of this just to say not that Bam doesn’t have trade value, but there’s a lot of weird fits and then the teams that would obviously want him, I don’t think have like the draft arsenal to do it. So, I’m looking at teams that like, you know, with the Charlotte thing, you could flip your pick back. You could probably get a couple more picks. Um, but yeah, I don’t think it’s as easy. I think everybody’s just like trade bam out of ba you’re gonna get four first round picks and you got to find the team that’s like ready to make a move up that has a bunch of picks and young guys that you would want to get back and I think as we see when you get in these like it’s not easy to always get the hall like maybe on the pick side but not necessarily the players. So, I don’t know. I don’t know. Like, from my standpoint, this kind of goes back to the to the uh to like the the hero bam thing. Like, yeah, they’re probably going to have to make a decision if the Heat have this run this year. They’re going to have to make a decision on one of them because they’re going to get to just pay one of them cuz at this point in the economics of the game, like paying two of them means you need to be sure those guys have you at a certain level because once you have to start to paying three guys, you better be damn sure. And they’re already scared of paying Jimmy Butler. Tyler’s decisions coming on up. Bam, they’ve paid. With Tyler, you’re not going to get as much because people are going to have questions about the player, but they also got to pay him. So, you’ll probably be lucky if you get like a first round pick back. So, is there any world where it could be like Tyler for Li Markin and a firstrounder and he gets to go be the king of Utah with Ace Bailey and, you know, they figure that whole thing out and and come up together. We know Danny Angel is Tyler Hero, but it’s like that feels almost a little bit easier to me because I don’t think you’re expecting as much in return. I feel like the heat going into an Adabio conversation, you better be sure. Like first of all, one, you know, if you’re going to trade him that there has to be I feel like part of it that like, hey, he has to be in on that. Like Bam wants to be good with moving on. If he doesn’t and you want to trade him, I don’t know. I don’t know how that’s going to look for um status of the franchise. You know, there is there there are some things about it that I think are not going to sit well for you. Um because anytime anybody has wanted to come loose and play down here, dude, they wanted to play with Bam. I mean, that that and it’s unfortunate the organization hasn’t taken advantage of it. To me, it’s one of the biggest wastes that they’ve had as an organization is that they’ve had this guy who’s literally been friends with basically every superstar of this generation. They’ve all at some point, maybe except for Tatum, have had some inclination of wanting to play here because of him. Guys taken the jersey from Bradley Beal, recruited Damen Lillard at the Olympics, his best friends with Donovan Mitchell, had him playing in the Miami Pro League. They have squandered that. so badly. And it’s not a knock on Tyler, but like who who’s who’s who is he recruiting to get here? Like who are the guys that say, “I got to play with that guy. I want to be of peace with that guy.” Maybe it’ll come. Maybe maybe I’m just ignorant to it because I don’t know. But all in all, you know, it was interesting today. I was at a uh I was taking my kids out. We were going to Cali Coffee to get one of those like soda drinks at uh you know, there. I uh I got a I got a unicorn and my daughter got a mermaid or a hang ten. Um they may have mixed up the order. I’m not really sure. Basically like they gave me a Red Bull that’s a park a pink sparkly drink. But uh the guy was wearing a heat shirt. He goes, “Oh, you’re a heat fan.” Cuz at Cali Coffee, they like to make the small talk when you’re at the window. And the guy’s like, “Hey, man. What’s their problem?” And I was like, “I I’m like, “I don’t know, man. They just, you know, it’s just been it’s been kind of rudderless right He goes, he goes, “You like Hero?” I said, “Yeah, I like Tyler Hero.” He goes, “What’s you think that he’s the problem?” I’m like, “I don’t think I don’t think that Tyler Hero nor Bam Adabio are problem players.” I actually think they’re good complimentary players. They think that they are they are guys that can be pieces to winners. I think Bam’s shown that a little bit more than Tyler has because Tyler’s had some really unfortunate injuries. Um, it would have been nice to see a year ago if Jimmy’s knee doesn’t get messed up. What does that what does that look like? Do they still get buzzsawed by the Celtics? Who’s to say? Pro maybe. I don’t know. That was kind of my whole question to Pat Riley that started this whole thing in the first place according to some. Um, but we don’t know. Like there’s still a mystery. There’s an air mystery. But I it’s not like I think that he can’t fit next to somebody well. And I kind of look to that like that that Wiggins piece in this team is to me like where this could if they could they could find somebody to take that and soup it up and be like, “All right, now they got something.” But just Wiggins I don’t think is that guy. You know, he’s a very talented player, but I don’t think he has any desire to be like the guy who can who can carry over and take over for these guys. I don’t think so. So, I get it. I I understand why the conversations are being had because this is where the team is right now. And I think it’s I do think it’s a bit of a if they come out of this season and it’s, you know, get throttled again or it’s heading that way and they don’t make a maneuver. Yeah. I I don’t know. And I I don’t really know what they’re they’re looking at. But I don’t really I don’t I don’t know what the piece I I don’t know which trade partners out there that would make the Heat not hang up the phone. And it’s going to be interesting because right we’re going to summer league. There’s usually a lot of fodder that that comes with that. There’s a lot of buzz. Are they, you know, is this getting kicked around? Like are they trying to um gauge where people are at with this? Um, and I think most of the fan base, like I know B gets a hard time, but I think most of the fan base knows like, hey, I don’t think Bio I don’t think anybody in the fan base thinks Bio is part of the problem. I don’t think, you know, I know there are some I get the dopes who like, he’s too soft, he’s all this. Does he have to be a better blend now that he’s added three-point Arsenal to his game or a capability of it? Can he blend that with the physicality and be, you know, you know, take this by the balls a little bit more? We’ll see. I would love to see that for sure because he had probably one of his worst offensive starts of the season last year and uh it was a tough hole to get out of for him. But he eventually did and I’m hopeful that one day this team does have the pieces around him and he is part of the winning that does get him that elusive Larry O’Brien trophy to put him amongst the legends of this organization. you know, I don’t want him to be amongst like the next tier. I I want him to be with the greats, not with like the guys who we absolutely love, but they never got to get to the to the uh to the promised land. Um but yeah, I don’t think that they’re there yet unless he is unless he meets them in Vegas and he’s just like what what is this? Because look, to be fair, he did say after the season he was like looking around. and he goes, “Oh, I think there’s going to be a lot of changes.” You know, and he was even encouraging. He’s like, “You ask Pat Riley that and you you get back to me. I want to know what he says. I’m curious to see what he says.” Well, Pat Riley said we’re not going to run it back, but the roster construction would say otherwise. The thing I will say, though, is, you know, it is possible we’re in for a rough year. I’m not going to gauge this off of one Yakonis uh preseason game or summer league game because that would be silly. Um I’ve seen plenty of summer league stinkers, but it is a it is counting on a rookie and now he’s added through. You could just see like the difference in the guys who are playing their second summer league to the first. It’s very noticeable. But ultimately, I guess my take is this. I’m not trading Bio. Not yet. I don’t think that they’re at that lever yet. Um I think that they’ve sh they’ve signaled they’re not at that lever yet. Will there come a time yet? There’s obviously going to be a time where where where it probably gets to that if if this if this continues down this path. I don’t think you’re there yet. Um and I also like again like I think I ran over the se like I don’t if I missed one, let me know. Like I I mean if anybody sees a more viable like obvious trade partner that’s going to swoop in and give you the king’s ransom for BAM, but I’m not seeing a ton of options there. I’m not seeing it’s it’s much easier for me to signal like, oh, you could trade you could trade such and such to that team for uh this and a pick, but like the Kings Ransom, Rudy Gobear, Desmond Bane, like holy crap. I can’t believe that’s what you got. I don’t I don’t think there’s a lot of those out there. You know, there’s going to be probably the team that misses out on Giannis uh whenever the hell he decides he wants to leave Milwaukee. And so, if you could entice a team that is just too good for the Heat to turn down, okay, but I’m going to tell you this, be prepared for wherever you ch trade him to that that guy’s going to be holding a trophy. Just be probably not the Hornets. If he did get traded to the Hornets, that’s not going to happen. But you will have to face him four times a year and he’ll probably kick your ass a lot. But if he got traded to the Spurs, oh, and then I mean to think that Greg Papovic wouldn’t even want him on Team USA and then one day helps lead Papovic to a championship, him and Winyama. Oh, that’s going to make me sick to my stomach. Cuz be honest, like if the Heat do have to trade one of their allstars, you know, that’s the one that scares you the mo. Like if you traded it him to either San Antonio, I don’t think they would ever trade him to Boston, but you’d be like, “Oh no, this guy, he’s going to he’s going to do everything and everyone’s going to sing him to high praises and he’s going to get all the love that he never got nationally and title odds are going to be shrinking everywhere because people are going to throw money on that team. You bet. I mean, and you better you better hit on those hicks that you get cuz it doesn’t work for everybody, dude. I know it doesn’t work for everybody. And I’m pissed off and I don’t like the mediocrity as much as anybody. I think I’ve made my feelings known. Um, but I think more of my anger went towards because I believe in Bam and Tyler. I just know that they needed somebody else and the organization doesn’t seem like they want to jump both feet in and that kind of pisses me off. But hey, it I look, it’s going to get to a point where you’re going to have to have that conversation. He’s going to have to have that conversation with them. Um, is it now? I don’t think so. But, um, you know, the Hornets nest was stirred up today thanks to the detonator, Ira Winderman. I’m calling you that next time I see you in the media room, dude.
Tobin reacts to a column from Sun-Sentinel Miami Heat reporter Ira Winderman if it’s time for the Miami Heat to consider trading Bam Adebayo for a haul of assets. Tobin discusses the potential hauls the Heat could get for the 3-time All Star but why it’s a dangerous road to go down.

Bam isn’t worth anything you want from other teams. He is over paid. Why would other teams want that.
Bro WHO TF ARE ALL THESE FAKE ASS MIAMI HEAT FANS???
WTF
ANYONE WHO SAYS TRADE BAM
NEED TO STFU
THEY LACK CAPACITY
AND MOST PROBABLE ARE LESSER THANS
Yall are legitimately terrible fans yall suck
You know, the stuff Heat fans say about their own players kinda makes me feel bad. Not too long ago when D-rob opted out and we were speculating rather or not we'd get him back, everyone kept talking about how he's just no good and highlighted all of his downsides. Now that he's officially gone, suddenly those same folk are talking about how they always respected him and what he did for the team. Why is it we say stuff that not even Boston fans would let themselves get caught saying to our face about our best players, but find ourselves mad when they're looking to leave down the line?
I am not agree to trade bam as the moment sorry guys but I still believe for bam and give him another chance
package him w wiggins amd jaime for giannis
I will not live in a world where Bam is not on the HEAT
He is a great 3rd man on a championship team but I don’t ever see him being a superstar leader of one
Is not going to happen. The Heat is pursuing Kuminga for a trade. 🤔
Sell high! Before Bam get old!!
Bam has reached his ceiling and he has regressed and his extension is too much for miami to pay.I would suggest to trade him.i would rather extended Herro for 3 years and see how it goes since he keep improving.
Who are all these people chiming in? They all sound like fans from other teams hoping the Heat will part with Bam for pennies on the dollar. Picks can be nonsense if they are protected or from a really good team (there’s no way to build that way), worse you have the nba gifting away the top picks and steering talent transfers. Hey non-Heat fans chiming in, worry about you’re own damn team.
Bam to bucks for number 34😊
The problem we're having with Bam is that we don't have the pieces around him for him to succeed. I would prefer to trade Tyler, take the assets from that and really go whale hunting
I want to trade bam AND tyler just because I believe kd WAS the piece and they didn’t believe in them so why we wasting they prime
Trade Herro first and build around Bam
Heat needs to make some type of change. These players, without a superstar, make up just an average team.
Yes, it’s time to trade bam or at least explore, he’s gotten progressively worse, his best skill is switching onto wings and that’s useless. We do not want to be stuck paying this guy $50M+ and 3/4 seasons were ASKING him to look at the rim. Great guy, cool player but I rather see him somewhere else than me hating on him because he’s not living up to a contract that I know he won’t be able to live up to.
Plus trading bam is going to get you more of a return than trading Herro (not off the table either) Spo had Hassan Whiteside anchoring top 10 defenses. The Heat will be ok. The idea of bam sounds good until he becomes overpaid.
Tobin Bomb 💣 !!!!! ALL THE HEAT FANS WANT BAM OUT !!! NO MORE NARRATIVE !!! 😂😂😂😂
Black Lives Matter,…. Ha
tbh what broke me with bam was when he scored 18 in the first half vs Denver in game 5 then scored 2 pts in the second half, I’ve been off bro since then
CALL HOUSTON : SENGUN and 3 First Round Picks is Fair !!!
I hate this narrative that bam is a good recruiter when he hasn’t landed anyone, and guys wouldn’t follow bam to go play with him, he’s a great guy so he has friends over the league don’t mistake that as players are dying to play with him.
Heat fans gotta be the dumbest if they think bam is the player to trade
The bam meat hugger’s favorite card to pull is the “whataboutism” you gotta look yourself in the mirror, now that he’s at the 4, what awards are coming his way? Won’t make any more all-star teams, won’t make any ALL-NBA, won’t win DPOY… I’m confused on where is the upside to him being on this roster.
