Heart sign, the heart with the dollar sign in the middle. You know, it doesn’t hurt to support. It helps. It does. you know, I’m building this platform out. You know, now this is the hoops portion of the platform, but we do current events and we do music as well. You know what I’m saying? So, if you, you know, current events, this is a holistic channel. This is an Aboriginal American channel. That’s what this is, you know, uh, and everything cuz this is what this is what my lineage is and I probably speak to it and rock it, you know, and everything. It is what it is. So, I want to talk about uh Khan Canipple. Khan just signed his deal today, right? So, and he’s about to go into summer league. So, I’m curious to see his play in summer league, right? Now, you get a glimpse of certain things, you know, that these players can do. So, I’m very very excited to um I have not yet decided if I’m going to cover the summer league or not, like do a playbyplay. I may. It just depends, you know. I might not be able to. Depends on when they schedule it. But, uh, we’ll definitely do a response. If I don’t do if I’m not able to do a playbyplay, we will definitely do a response to the summer league. That that will be done. So, conneing it transparent, I had a little I had a little meltdown. I did, you know, cuz I really I thought that, man, we can just get Ace Bailey and get it cracking. You know what I’m saying? But [Music] getting con tells me despite, and I’ve been saying this over and over again, despite elements within Hornets and LaMelo space, looking for LaMelo to be moved and traded, some hoping for it to happen damn near annually since LaMelo’s gotten here. Ridiculous. LaMelo Ball is not going nowhere. Because if he was, then you would draft Ace Bailey, sell him to the sell him to the fan base, remove whatever PR you got by LaMelo Ball, minimize the PR, you know, leak if there’s any issues that we don’t know about. Leak certain things to tear LaMelo down cuz that’s what teams do when they ready to move from a player. leak certain things, you know, designed to justify the trade. Leak certain things to key members of the press to say where the Hornets are kind of, you know, tired of LaMelo’s balls, lack of days, whatever the [ __ ] excuse would be. The same way Dallas did with Luca. The same way they did when the same way New Orleans did when they traded Anthony Davis. Uh, a player usually when you know a team is about to move on from a player, especially like a major piece, you know, like a major piece, usually those teams create a certain PR so that it can be stomach by the fan base of the major piece that’s departed because the fan base gets used to what rooting for and emotionally become invested in that major piece. That’s why the Luca stands in the Luca verse is still in shambles over the trade of Luca to the Lakers. They are in shambles right now. Still over the trade. So much so that the fan base that wants to be loyal to Dallas, but really loved Luca in Dallas are having a hard time adjusting to the fact that Nico just cooked. Even without Cooper flag, though Cooper is the cherry on top, Nico is putting together a team that could win the championship next year. It is very well put together. And if the Dallas Mavericks goes deep into the playoffs, even to a ring, it’s going to be an interesting thing to see how that fan base responds cuz you can’t ignore Nico. That is what it is. I say that just uh for the point of reference for the Hornet fan base. LaMelo is your franchise. Get over it. How and why do you say that? Because Khan Canipple was drafted instead of Ace Bailey. That’s why Khan’s game fits very seamlessly with what LaMelo Ball does, right? And Khan Canipple, and I think we may see some of this in the summer league. Khan Canipple can be a secondary or third ball handler, sometimes hell. In some cases, he could be a secondary ball handler. Now, now that the dust has settled over Khan Canipo, you know, we beginning to hear voices that says that, you know, Khan is some unathletic white boy who really isn’t going to help the team. And initially, I thought the same thing. I said, “Oh, [ __ ] Okay, he’ll just shoot the ball. What the fuck?” you know, but then I said, “Let me just let me just go and watch instead of making assumptions, let me just go and and see what Khan was doing.” So, I went I went and I have I was watching some dude games because the truth is everybody, I like Khan’s game. I thought number four was too high, you know, but I understand why Charlotte took him, you know. At first, I said, “Oh, it’s just a safe pick, you know. It’s it’s nothing to move the needle.” But it actually moves the need a little bit more than what I thought, right? Because he’s what Jeff Peterson said, of course, when they talking about Khan and Cooper Flag, Jeff Peterson said, “We got the better shooter of the two.” Khan Canipple and Trey Johnson are the two best shooters in that draft and the Hornets got a shooter. Now, what that does, and Khan has talked about it already, he says, “I don’t expect to have the ball a lot.” Right? different from Ace now cuz Ace wants the ball. You know what I’m saying? He wants to have the ball in his hands. You can’t you can’t be that type of player with LaMelo Ball as the guy. You just can’t, right? You see what I’m saying? Brandon Miller has the ball in his hands. Yes. But Brandon Miller plays more off ball as well with LaMelo. The ball is in the Melo’s hands where it should be, right? He is the fulcrum upon which everything revolves around in that franchise. Huh? So Khan has said I can play off of both of them. I can move in a way to create space for him. This is what he’s talking about now. Khan is talking about what he can do for LaMelo Ball in the overall scheme of winning. Hear me? Khan says I can create space for LaMelo. Once I get the ball, if people run at me, I can create runouts. I can step in and shoot. I can step in and pass. [ __ ] I can there [ __ ] I can step in and go for a layup. What? So, this is what I see with Khan. Khan comes off and Charles Lee. Come on now. He going He going to make up the plays that the the plays and this is why I kind of really want Khan at the two. I really This is why I really want Khan eventually. People talking about Colin Sess going to start. No, he’s not. If Khan cooks, he’s going to start. Colin. Colin is better off the bench. That way Colin can cook there. Him and Trey can cook off the bench, right? We don’t need too many chefs in the kitchen, right? The the main chefs is Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball. Those are the main chefs with LaMelo being the chef and and Brandon being the shoot being the sue chef. Huh? The rest of that starting five has to play off and around those two, right? Khan can nibble even like he only even like with Miles. Again, Miles’s role continues to what? Get smaller and smaller every year. Everybody, that’s why I believe Miles is going to be going cuz his role just continues to get smaller. Right now, Khan, right? LaMelo Ball would pass. And it Khan has shown to have ice in his veins. Khan is not afraid of the moment. Go back. Go and watch those Duke games. Now, see, if you haven’t watched the Duke games, then you can’t really say [ __ ] about Khan based on his appearance. Slow white player. Eh, you know, right? Khan plays bully ball. I noticed that. There’s a clip of Khan cooking Coopa flag that came out from that that was posted that I have that I might I might put in the video. We’ll see. You got to be careful now because see on Twitter you can get away with that [ __ ] on YouTube. You can you know there’s a video of Khan cooking Cooper. He ain’t really he, you know, he’s not blowing by him. He is musling that [ __ ] He is musling Cooper flag. He’ll fake Cooper and get him. Get him. can get him frozen on his feet. He’ll go left or right. Koopa trying to stop him. Cooper reaching over. Khan just is too strong for him. Khan is shorter. He’s moving Cooper out the way. He’s moving him out the way and then fading away and shooting a jump on him. He’s He’s holding Cooper. He is so strong that Cooper can’t get past his body to block his shot. H I’ve seen Luca do the same thing. When Luca get Luca Don Luca Don lives he he shoots that step back three but Luca’s game is the mid-range everybody. That’s where he cooks at. Luca cooks in the mid-range. Luca’s big. Some say fat, whatever. But still whether you say he’s just a big, you know, just he’s just a big white boy, whatever. He’s big and you and over the years his speed has went away cuz hell rookie Luka ain’t a like this Luka. his speed has went away. So, he’s had to use his body more and more each year to get his shot off along with his dribble, right? Angles, right? You know, he’ll bump you. Luca will put his shoulder into you. He will. I’ve seen Khan do the same. He did it with Cooper. I’ve seen him do it in these games. So if Khan is in a situation where he has to create, he can create, you know, oh, he can’t get his shot off. Oh, no. I I I beg to differ with anybody who says that. Khan can get his shot off. It’s just what? He has to use craft to do it. You’re not going to get a blowby. Not like a like a straight up like a blowby blowby situation. You’ll get it if Khan, you know, Khan said on his interview today, today is the third. He said what people asked him about him playing off of two feet instead of, you know, one. He says if I play off of two feet, I can what? Use footwork. See, the IQ of the young man, he’s I the the the IQ is very high. Not because he’s white, but because he just knows, right? the IQ he says if I play off of two feet then you don’t know which way I’m going and the defense has to commit right so now the only thing with players like Khan you have to study him to see what quote unquote his tendencies are to guess what he’s doing and if Khan is aware of that then he can change it up when he plants his two feet well you know when he plant his two feet usually he’ll do this or that the other he’ll usually go for a fade away. Well, Khan can know the fake. And he said that now I can plant two feet. I can do a pump fake. You know, they’ll know what I’m going to do. So, I can see Khan getting players into foul trouble because Khan is physical. He’s a physical guard. He’s not a finesse guard. He’s he’s a physical guard. And that’s a nice change of pace from Brandon Miller Lim Ball cuz they’re not physical. LaMelo is seeking out the contact more. He is. He’s definitely seeking out more because he didn’t do it as a rookie, but now he’s beginning to seek out the contact. He’s looking for the contact when he goes to the paint and the results of such is beginning to pay dividends. LaMelo’s getting more three-point plays. You know what I’m saying? You know, so things like that beginning to work in LaMelo’s favor, although he needs a better whistle, you know, with this type of team around him and with the evolving of his game and of course with Adam Silva’s edicts, you know, LaMelo will get a more favor whistle next year. because it’s time to roll him out. It’s been time, you know. Had it not been for the injuries and and the and the terrible season the Hornets had last year, the NBA would have rolled him out last year, you know. But with this type of squad around LaMelo Ball, I can guarantee you he will be rolled out this year. He will be. So players like Khan helps with that, right? Khan would not mess up LaMelo’s assist. If Khan is open, he’s hitting that shot. You know what I’m saying? LaMelo creates a lot of good shots for shooters who are shooters. So what Jeff Peterson did, you know, I heard Locked on Hornets, I heard uh believe it or not, I heard Nada Edwards says this, which was true. Hey, you got to give him you got to give him credit when he speaks the truth. Now, you know, he said the renovations are over. Now it’s time to make the money. It took them two years to clean out the mess that Michael made. Now it’s time to Now it’s time to win. They put in a lot of money. Now it’s time to recoup some of that money back, which now they’re moving like they’re ready to recoup the money back. They reimagined the seats, reimagined the arena, higher ticket prices. So there has to be a product on the floor that will stimulate people to want to come by to pay more money. Cuz now instead of LaMelo passing to a Josh Green bricking everything, LaMelo’s now passing to what? Colon Canipple who is hitting everything. Liam McNeely who is hitting Colin Ston if they are playing together who is hitting and of course the dynamic Trey man right is back in the fold. What? So Khan Canipple I think eventually will start you know if not right away before the cup he will before the NBA cup he will cuz I don’t think it’s going to take long for Khan to to pick it up because his style of play is is is uh man it’s you can’t hide little guards on Khan can connect like if the if the one the two and the three is LaMelo Brandon and Khan starting No, another side of him. You got like Trey Young. You got even even Suggs, you know. You know, you got one of those little guards trying to guard LaMelo Ball. Hell, LaMelo Ball, they stopped putting guards on LaMelo Ball. Like point guards, they stopped putting point guards on LaMelo Ball when he was a rookie. They stopped doing that when he was a rookie, man. They they started putting twos and threes on LaMelo ball when he was a rookie cuz point guards couldn’t guard him cuz LaMelo was too tall for him. LaMelo’s and the way LaMelo played it was like they those guards can’t guard him. They can’t. So you have to put a two or a three on LaMelo. Now in the past you can hide Steph Curry on Terry Rosia. You know what I’m saying? You can hide these guards on Ter Rosia and other little and other little guards usually are hitting on Ter Rosia, right? Or they’ll hide them on some other player. Once Khan starts, you’re not going to be able to hide those little guards, little ones, little twos. You’re not going to be able behind them because if you put a Brandon Miller is damn near 6ix9ine. If you put a guard on Brandon Miller, a point guard, Brandon’s going to shoot over him. Brandon will cook that guard. especially if he goes into his midi game, which as a three, the play calling will force him into the midi more so than as a two. Which is why I want Khan to be at the two, cuz the play calls that Charles Lee has for the two guard fits Khan’s game better than it fits Brandon Miller. Brandon Miller should slide to the three and he’s a little close. He does shoot outside, but his little his game is a little closer to the basket as a three rather than the two, which I think will help uh Brandon Miller have a nice breakout season next year. You know what I’m saying? So, you’re not going to be able to hide that guard. You’re not going to be able to hide him. You either have to force put him on the Melo and force a double team or you put him on Khan. Hope Khan don’t bully him. We’re putting on Brandon and hope Brandon don’t shoot over him cuz Brandon can go into the post as well. He doesn’t go as much as he should, you know, which I’m hoping eventually he go get into the mid mid post, mid-range area. I see the middle ball working on his midi. So, you got a nice combination of those three. And again, Khan Kenipo knows when to play off ball, but he can create he can toss lobs. He can create assists. Khan can do that, right? I think, you know, hey, I get it. Ace. Ace. I get it. But to what? If you’re building around LaMelo, then Khan is who you get. It is what it is. It is what you is what it is. I’ve come around. It is what it is. You get Khan for LaMelo Ball, right? You see what I’m saying? You know, hell, Khan, I believe that there going to be times where Khan may bring the ball up. You know, you know, LaMelo can LaMelo can play the point, but he can slide to the two for a while. I mean, you know, he can slide to the tool. I’m not saying that Khan can like run like run the point. You know, if you you want LM to cook at the two for a minute, that’s when you bring in calling section, let him run the point for a minute or Spencer D. Spencer Dwid. You let Spencer run the point for a minute. LaMelo can slide to the two. You still got height in the back court. What? And you got to create off the bench cuz I forgot about Spencer. [ __ ] You You got Colin Sex, Spencer, and Trey off the bench. My goodness. what you know you got you got Seion for defense if you need you know if you doing offense defense type things it’s going to be interesting going to be interesting to see what uh Charles Lee does but Khan Canipple just signed his deal Khan is good you know like I said I expect him to start matter if it’s the two or the three I’m hoping it’s the two cuz again Charles Lee sets the two shoots a lot of threes a lot of curl plays you know the the the um the three uh plays closer to the basket Right. So, I’m hoping that, you know, Lee digs into his bag and instead of trying to force these players into this damn five out Boston system that he’s in love with that he adjusts his program to fit the strengths of his players, you know, at least meet Jeff halfway on it. Jeff has got has brought more shooters in so that Lee can use that five out system more. You know what I’m saying? But he’s also got LaMelo working on the midi and he got players who can cook in the mid-range. You do not strip that away. You don’t do that. See what I’m saying? You need it. And it’s obvious you need it now. You know, SGA is a mid is a mid-range master. It goes right back to it again. You know what I’m saying? The legends are made in the mid-range, right? And Khan can play the mid game, you know? And again, he’s a bruising guard, you know? He will uh he’s going to he’s going to bruise up a lot of players because he’s going to lay that wood on him and that’s what he should do. See what I’m saying? He’s 66 67 already. He could go to 68. My goodness. With a with a with a already a nice midi like a he already got like a mid post game coming in. He’s going to be he’s going to be hell. He’s going to be very good. You know, he’s going to be very good. Some will verify some things. you know, Khan could become Khan could end up on the all rookie team. He could. Now, rookie of the year that I think may um flow over to Ace, you know, that might flow over to Ace, you know, Cooper. I think those are the people that might get it depending on what Cooper does in Dallas. If he cooks, then [ __ ] it’s going to be handed over to Cooper. But, you know, just to continue that narrative, right? But Ace may Ace Cooper and Ace, I think, will be the two in that conversation. a distance maybe Trey and maybe Hart depending on how they use Harker in San Antonio you know maybe those four Khan I don’t think he’s going to get into the rookie of the year talks you know but he’ll but all rookie team I think he’ll make that if he cooks I think he’ll he’ll make all rookie team right so you know um so after everything is settled down Khan was a good pick you know I would have they had a trade down I can’t get upset at Jeff they had a trade down deal in place you know what I’m And they did. They was going to they was going to trade down to get Khan. They had the deal in place. Danny Angel stepped in and kind of broke up that broke that deal up. So they went on and just took Khan said [ __ ] it, you know. They went on and took Khan. So So knowing this, it’s like, okay, well, you know, he did try to trade down again, you know. So um but you know, the the deal was kind of broken up by Danny H. So you know, so I have to give Jeff credit for that. He did try to he he he tried to do what I suggested in terms of getting Khan. Trade down to get him. If you want him, trade down to get him, you know, but again, I can’t you know, you can’t Danny A. You can, you know, you can’t control what Angel is going to do. So, it is what it is, right? So, let’s keep let’s keep an eye on Khan Kipple. I call him Gingis Khan. That’s the name we got him for the BTW. Um yeah, Genis Khan. And um we’ll see what he does in summer league. You know, I expect him to um know I expect him to do well, but we’ll see. We we’ll see how he does and we’ll see how the rest of them do, too. We’ll we’ll continue to monitor everything. We’re going into free agency. There’s still other moves to be made. Probably one more because uh the Hornets are very thin in the front court. They need to now that they’ve traded away most of their centers. They got uh Ryan Cochrren and they got Mousar Deviate. So, you know, and they got Mason Plum Lee. Is that enough of a uh is that enough for the Hornets? They still got Miles Bridges at the four. Grant is still healing, right? So, there’s a lot going to be put on Tan’s plate this year, you know, until Grant come back. You know what I’m saying? You know, and the development of the Tan is still very critical for the Hornet success. He is. It is what it is. So, uh, thanks for listening. Yeah, Khan is a Khan is a good one. Yeah, he is. He’s He’s a good one. He’s going to be great, man. He He, um, highlevel role player, maybe low-level star, depending on how he does. That’s what I see for Khan, you know, something like that, right? We’ll see how it goes. We’ll see. But, but but but no, but Khan is good. He, you know, he he knows he’s not athletic. He talks about it. He say he’s going to squeeze out his whatever athleticism I got, I’m going to squeeze it out. You know, whatever he got, he going to squeeze it out. He knows he’s not athletic, so he knows he has to do other things. He is coming in having to prove that he belongs, which is good. He’s coming in hungry. He’s not coming in like a diva. He’s not coming in like, “Yeah, I’m here to take over, you know, every No, he’s not coming in to be coddled. He’s coming in to work.” And that has been the theme of damn near everybody that Jeff has drafted. They are all coming in to work. They are all hungry. They’re not coming in the [ __ ] They’re coming in to work. And that right there will of course spill over to everyone else who’s there, who is left there. Right. Trey man is coming in to work. He already been talking about it all year. He’s been choing at the bit to get back. Trey man’s been ready to get back, you know. So Trey is coming to work, right? You know, Colin is going to be there to work. Seion is there to work. Leon is there to work. Leon was talking about, hey, you know, hey, we we we here to win, you know, blah blah blah blah. You know, they’re there to work, right? LaMelo Ball is putting the work in. Believe it or not, even though the aesthetic is very laidback, Melo’s putting the work in. You see the damn training staff is with LaMelo at the BBB mansion. You know what I’m saying? And LaMelo rocks that Hornet everywhere he goes. He ain’t going nowhere. You know, Miles is working. Hey, we’ll see what happens. You know what I’m saying? I’m going to talk about Miles in another piece of content. Miles is working. Brandon Miller is putting the work in. They’re all putting the work in now. Grant Williams is is is putting the work in. Getting himself back into, you know, getting himself back. You know, times are looking good. Things are looking up for the Hornets. They are. You know, the days of the Hornets being a a poverty franchise and the joke of the NBA, that is coming to an end. And it’s going to take some getting used to for the fan base as well as for the broader NBA, especially other fan bases. It’s going to get used to uh not melting down when the Hornets beat you. It’s going to get to the point where it’s like [ __ ] It ain’t going to be like, hey, I can I can, you know, low manage cuz the Hornets are coming into town. No, it’s going to be like [ __ ] You can’t load manage tonight cuz the Hornets are coming into town. You know, you can load manage on another team. You know, like the Brooklyn Nets, they ain’t doing [ __ ] next year. They looking, they open on the tank and other tanking teams that is obvious. We can low manage on those teams. But [ __ ] you [ __ ] around. low manager on LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Khan Canipple, Miles if he’s still there or whoever they get, you know, cuz I believe if they get a big Miles will be in the package, you know, but I’ll talk about that in another piece of content. I’ll talk about it live, you know, and um you know, you can’t you can’t you can’t low manage on Cion and Colin Sex. You you can’t low manage on Sex. You can’t low manage on Trey Man. You can’t you you you remove some of your good players against this Hornets team. You will hold an L. You will you you’ll be giving away a W to the Hornets, you know, and early on they’re not going to believe it. Early on, they going to do that [ __ ] until Charlie blows them out cuz they’re going to be some blowouts. Charlie’s going to blow some teams out next year. They are. You know what I’m saying? And then they going to adjust. It’s like, oh [ __ ] they serious. Oh no, this ain’t the same old Hornets, man. They they you know they actually are playing like they looking to grab some [ __ ] and win some [ __ ] this year, you know. We got to treat them differently and [ __ ] LaMelo got a squad now. You know, you know. Anyway, this is Chief Barton. Bartonize the world. Hit that like button. Please jump in the comments. Let me know what you think. You do you have concerns about Khan Canipple? You you think, you know, uh I don’t see it, Chief. He’s just, you know, he’s too slow. He you know, is he really going to help Lamela? I mean he if the jumper’s not there what else can he do? I think he can do other things to impact winning. Let’s say his jumper is not falling that night. I think he can still impact winning in other ways. He can handle Khan Canipple is sneak. Khan Canipple. I’ve seen it at Duke man especially during March Madness and some of the tournaments man. Khan Canipple is one of those players that you going to love on your team and opposing players are going opposing fan bases are going to hate Khan. I’m telling you. Let me tell you why. Because I noticed it. Cuz I hate Duke. I don’t like Duke. Never have. There’s a long history with Duke. Going back to UNLV with Larry Johnson and Damn the Fab Five with Chris Weber. Right. So, I’ve always hated Duke. You know, it is what it is. It’s is is an acquired taste, right? So, I seen Duke in these games, right? When Cooper Flag has faltered a little bit, right? When he has faltered a little bit, Conniple always came up with that [ __ ] play. As I get out of here, always when Duke if when it seemed like other teams have had Duke on the ropes, right? Cooper wasn’t playing well or, you know, they had really got Cooper in the box for a minute and you know, and it and and it was like, “Yeah, [ __ ] Duke about to lose. Somebody on the opposing team will make like a bad pass and it will be Khan Canipple that steal the ball. I’ve seen it and lay the [ __ ] up. Or Khan will steal the ball, right? Khan got loose. Somehow Khan got loose. The ball found its way into his hands and he lobbed that [ __ ] to Marlock. You know what I’m saying? Or somehow it’s like, “God damn it. How is this slow [ __ ] getting loose? How is he getting away from these players who’s supposed to be more athletic and quicker than him? How is he doing that [ __ ] I’m watching this [ __ ] right? And it’s like, how the [ __ ] did he get open for that three? You know what I’m saying? It’s like, what the, you know, or or that rebound. He that damn Duke was on the ropes and and and and you know, he’s the one that got the key rebound. He’s the one that got that offensive rebound and got that put back, you know, that Duke needed to give it momentum, you know, to give them confidence. That’s coniple. I’m telling y’all. I’m telling you. I’m telling you. The Hornets this season, the Hornets. Look, the Hornets are going to be on the rope sometimes this season against some of those better teams. And it’s going to be Khan that dives to the floor to get a ball they should not have gotten. It’s going to be Khan that got open for a three that he shouldn’t have gotten. Khan is going to get a rebound that he should not have gotten. and put that [ __ ] back up. A three-point play just off of hustle. That’s him. I’m telling y’all. I’m telling you. Because he has to compensate for the things he lacks. The hustle, the IQ, the two feet, the playing off of two feet, the opportunistic bullying of weaker players. He’s going to do it. The steel, the key steel. He may not be a lock down defender. We’ll see. But in key moments, he’s going to get the ball and pass that [ __ ] to LaMelo or he’s going to dive on the floor and knock the ball over to LaMelo and he shoots that three and it’s like, god damn it. And that’s going to be the play that break the opposing team’s back. That’s the type of player when you describe a player with intangibles that can’t be measured by height and weight and those in that in that goddamn analytics. You’re looking at Khan. Khan, you can’t measure him by no [ __ ] analytics, man. Or his look. You just can’t. Heart, grit, willpower is not on no [ __ ] spreadsheet. It just ain’t, you know, that’s in between the ears, right? So that’s what I see with Khan, you know? So yeah, jump in the comments. You know what I’m saying? Share, subscribe if you haven’t, baby.
