We Just got BLINDSIDED by This…
We got blindsided by this. Another team jumped into the Jonathan Kaminga sign and trade saga as reports revealed the Wizards moved to the front of the line for JK. And we now know exactly what the Warriors are looking for in return for Kaminga. And the Wizards might have the most enticing package out there. So, in today’s video, I really want to break down all the latest updates and analyze the different potential trade scenarios with the Wizards and the impact a trade like this would have on the Warriors next year and beyond. So, welcome to Warriors Digest. I’m Arthur Bay. Shout out to the 13,000 of you who’ve hit subscribe and joined the community. If you’re part of this percentage here who hasn’t hit the button yet, but you watch the videos on a regular basis, hit that button right now. Myself, Randy Silver, we’re working overtime to bring you multiple videos a day during the offseason. Working on holidays on July 4th. So, hit the button if you want to see the Warriors finally make a move in the off season here. You stay up to date because things are moving fast. But I want to break down this Wizards entering the mix. Randy Silver did a great job with a video you can check out here breaking down Anthony Slater’s report last night, all the different teams and potential trade scenarios. I want to key in on the Wizards because I think it’s the most interesting, potentially the most likely and an interesting return for the Warriors here. So, this all started with reporting from Anthony Slater last night when he said the Wizards entered the mix in the last 24 hours and the idea of a Kaminga as a possible fit in Washington’s rebuild gained real momentum according to league sources. The Heat, Bulls, Bucks, and Nets have also registered varying levels of interest. So, very interesting. Also, Slater went on to say that the Warriors are looking for a young player with potential and a first round pick in return, which makes the Wizards even more interesting because they have a ton of young assets, including 28 different draft picks over the next several years, two first round picks next year, and the Warriors first round pick in 2030, which was part of that Chris Paul deal a couple of years ago. Go. So now the Wizards, the prospects that they have, there’s a couple of key ones here in Bal, Alex Sar and Bub Carrington, who are pretty much going to be off limits. If I’m Mike Dunlevy, the first person I’m calling on is Alex Sar. He’s the 7 foot center prospect that they took number two last year. salary-wise matches up very nicely, but I don’t think that they’re going to be willing to move off of him when you just look at the potential there. But there are very interesting names outside of that, including guys like Cory Crispert, who could be a win now type of youngish prospect who fills a need as a three-point shooter. Also AJ Johnson, who’s a very young Raw shooting guard prospect and a couple of other variables here that might not be on the radar. So, I’ve been paying a lot of attention to what the Wizards are talking about and their beat writers and all of the people covering the team. They’re very excited about adding Jonathan Kaminga to the mix and excited to try to get a deal done here. So, and I mean Kaminga with everything that he wants, he seems like he would be the perfect tank commander in Washington. But when we take a look at some of the potential trades that could happen here, when we look at this, one thing I want to key in on is potentially involving Marcus Smart in a trade. Now, you may say, Marcus Smart, why he doesn’t he’s not young. He doesn’t fit any of the criteria. But he’s a $21 million expiring deal, which is incredibly valuable to the Warriors next year as he comes off the books, creates a lot of cap space for them, but also fills a need as a backup point guard. He’s an incredible defender. He was defensive player of the year just a few years ago in Boston. Now, he can’t shoot, but he can provide you valuable defense off the bench as a backup. He does have some injury concerns. He was pretty banged up on and off the court last year. Only played 30ish games, but there is potential there when he stays on the court and even more potential and interesting as an expiring deal. Now, AJ Johnson, super young prospect, 20 years old, 6’4 shooting guard. Let’s take a little bit closer of a look at him. Uh because he could be in play here. Um not a great shooter yet. So I’m also I I don’t think that this is really likely as he only shot his threes at about 24% last year. He did score nine points a game, but very limited in his action and that he only played 29 games last year, but is potentially a piece that is up for grabs. salary is very flexible on that rookie scale deal as he was the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 draft. Now, Corey Crispert is another name who is very interesting and when we look at a trade package here for Chrisbert, he fills a need now and may be interesting to the Warriors here and that his salary could match in a deal with Kaminga if the Wizards were to start him at about $24 million a year. Cory Chrisbert. He is a stationary three-point specialist. We can look at a little bit closer at 11 points, three boards, 1.7 assists. He shoots his threes at about 36%. 67. He’s got some length. Only problem is contract. He’s on it for a couple of more years at around that 13 to 14 million range. He’s a great three-point shooter off the bench and would be a win now piece, but kind of hits his ceiling. Also major problem. doesn’t play defense, but could be a contract that is moved here. That’s what a deal would look like. If I’m Mike Dunley, though, I am keying in on Keshan George. He’s the 6’8 shooting guard, defensive potential 3 and D master that fits the criteria perfectly. Now, Wizards are pretty high on him. So, he might be very difficult to pry away, but he would be an incredible player on the Warriors and in their system here. So, we look a bit little bit more at what he did last year. Uh, averaged about nine points a game, shot his threes at about 32%. Played in 68 games, 38 of them he started. He started shooting uh, excuse me, starting more towards the end of the season because his defense was so strong. He’s got incredibly high marks on defense and projects to be a potential defensive player of the year down the road. Uh when we look at his player profile on defense here, excellent grades on that perimeter defense. So he can contribute now. Great piece off the bench and he could be a long-term project here. Again, going to be difficult to pry away from the Wizards, but the Wizards are extremely high on Jonathan Kaminga for some reason. I don’t know exactly why because they do have a lot of redundancy there. He is pretty similar to Balal who could be another potential uh cornerstone in Washington. So, doesn’t totally make a lot of sense for me. But Keshan George is the guy who you should be asking the Wizards for. They’re not going to give up Alex Sar, their seven foot center prospect that they took number two overall. He would be number one on my list. But Keshan George, very close number two. So, a very interesting prospect there who checks many boxes as we now know that the Warriors are seemingly, you know, trying to move in a different direction here with the Wizards after the debacle of a deal with the Wizards. Everybody’s been talking about this ad nauseium about the Devin Carter, Dario Sarich offer from the Kings along with those two second round picks. I do think that this talk from the Wizards, all of these things leak out because either teams or agents want them to leak out. So, I do think that this talk about the Warriors and the Wizards is to put more pressure on Sacramento to up their offer. I do think that the Warriors are very high on Devin Carter. He’s not enough uh in return for Kaminga. So, I do think the Warriors may be trying to push the Kings a little bit to up the offer, get that first round pick. Devin Carter, while his stats didn’t necessarily show it last year in his rookie year, he does project to be kind of a Derek White type of defensive stalwart, incredible physical tools, but this was a joke yesterday. I mean, the absolute joke of an offer. So, I do think that something is at play here where the Warriors are trying to put some more pressure to get a better offer from the Kings. I do think that the Kings offer is very interesting and insightful in that when you look at the salaries that they offered up between Devin Carter and Dario Sarich, that only uh adds up to about $10 million. So, what we know about a sign and a trade deal with Kaminga, we know that he’s only going to count for about 50% of his salary, meaning it seems as if in order if that deal were to go down, he’s only going to be signed for about 20 million. So, I think that his agent is really looking for more money. The Wizards can definitely offer that and have a lot more movable pieces, a lot more assets. So, I think that it’s something to keep an eye on. But I do think that the reason that you’re hearing all of this chatter is because the Warriors are trying to get some more leverage here. Now, we do also know that according to Anthony Slater, if they can’t get a deal done in about a week, we may be dragging on all summer or Kaminga may just be coming back to the Warriors. We also got this update from Anthony Slater where he says there is a tentative plan for face-to-face meetings between Kaminga and prospective suitors in Las Vegas during the NBA summer league should the process extend that far. An eventual compromise and return to the Warriors remains very much on the table, league sources said considering the market dynamics at play. The two sides have talked about a sitdown in Las Vegas between Kaminga, Aaron Turner, who’s Kaminga’s agent, general manager Mike Dunlevy, and head coach Steve Ker to discuss a possible path forward if his situation remains unresolved for a week. So basically, we’re hearing that there’s about a week timeline on getting a potential deal done. So I think that the Warriors need to add a little bit more pressure here on the Kings, Wizards, whatever teams are involved. We do know that the Bulls have been involved, but there were reports yesterday that the Warriors are no longer interested in center Nicola, so things could be changing there. It’s all very fluid. The Wizards, though, very interesting. I think it’s something to keep an eye on. I do think that the Pelicans also offer a lot of potential here for a return package. the Kings. I do think that there is still something there, but I do continue want I want to continue to caution people about deals with the Kings and that the Warriors and Kings haven’t done a deal since the Mitch Richmond trade back in 1991. They don’t trade often. The Warriors and Wizards have multiple deals recently. They do have some sort of symbiosis here in terms of being able to negotiate with one another. So, I think that a lot of those things may come into play here. the Warriors and Pelicans. There’s also a pipeline relationship there. So, just things to keep an eye on as you know, you go out and uh celebrate your Fourth of July. Happy holidays. Also, don’t forget, shout out anniversary. Can you believe it’s been 9 years since KD made his decision to come to the Warriors and look at what he has done since then. Absolutely nothing. So, here we sit, we wait, and uh you know, July 4th is a big deal in Warriors land here. There’s some history there. Maybe we see some movement today. If we do, I’ll bring you an update here as soon as we get any news. Other than that, uh check out the other videos. Check out Ry’s update where he breaks down all of the different trade scenarios with the Bulls, with the Heat, with the Bucks, and the Nets. Very interesting stuff. Until then, I’ll talk to you later. Peace.

Yawn, nothing to see here. Moving on.
Corey Crispert lol
What happened to the Warriors adding size? I thought they were looking for a big? And what about "win now"? I don't believe any of these Wizards help get them over the top.
Dont trade JK
A true center is what GSW needs! SMDH
I don't t want anything the wizards have to offer. Of all the teams that have been mentioned, I'd look at Chicago. Giddey would be a good fit, possibly even Buzelis?
You are overrating Jonathan Kuminga. He is a bench player in the mold of Kam Redish.
I can’t wrap my head around the Warriors not being interested in Vucevic. He’s not a great defender, but he’s infinitely better than any big we have besides Draymond.
Fire Dunleavy…. He is a white man that don't know what they are doing…
You don't even know who kis-pert is not kris-pertyour just reading something someone wrote for you who obviously doesn't know him either
And not similar to bilal at all lol
And you think THIS is better then ANYTHING with Herb jones ??? Lmao 😂you're a BUM
If ain’t a big man then honestly It’s not worth it we’ve enough guards on our roster truth be told
I still think the Warriors should go after a legit young big rim protector/strong rebounder like a Walker Kessler(Jazz) & give up Moody & 1st rd for him. Keep JK until the trade deadline during season & trade him then for a solid player. Window is closing for Steph, Dray, & Jimmy to chase a ring!🤙🏾
krisbert is a nothingburger.
these idiots look at fg% to measure value.pitiful. they dog jk all season and then want first round value lol.
wizardsmight control a 6-10 f named tristan vukcevic. gsw should get that guy instead of tired guys like kispert. wizards develops young guys as apposed to kerr
Dont wizards have cj mcollum now? Ill take him fasho, he can start, score, and plays adequate defense!!
Trade Vladenski
steph and durant have been equal the last 5-6 years
We did not get blindsided. You youtubers are jumping off cliffs with your "predictions" which are 95% wrong
trade him to deni avdija..
Why not trade kuminga for 😂Nikola Jokic!!!?? Dream High
If Sabonis is not in this deal , there is nothing to talk about with the kings ..
no more 6’4 guards…this isnt 2017…F It…mortgage the future for giannis for 1 more championship before stephs done….its gonna take a while to rebuild anyways…
lol. y'all crazy. this won't move the needle.
Dunleavy is building a reputation for moving very slowly and gettung left behind for scraps….terrible.
Wtf is this AJ johnson talk??? Bro cmon….the weak ass kings offer with Carter is even better than this. Dunleavy is getting absolutely bullied by the other GMs….now they have him thinking kuminga is worth pennies.
Dunleavy is really about to become THAT GUY that fumbled Stephs late career
Anthony B the best with the energy! Thanks playboy
Aren't the Wizard's in a perpetual rebuild? 😂
No Way in Hell keep JK go Dubs
If we trade with pelicans can we steal their rookie center? I guess salaries would not match so maybe someone smarter can figure this out
that Smart and Aj trade is great deal for JK
Kispert not crispurrt
You must forgot the entire regular season when he played also. Kerr is very smart,… so what if he has talent-talent only gets you so far without the damn IQ to match the talent. Kerr saw through the whole year that JK can only play with Steph off the floor for a certain period of time. JK can’t play with Steph on the floor because his IQ is fucking terrible!!! That’s why they got Jimmy!!!! Jimmy Has one of the highest if not, the highest, IQ in the game and he makes everyone better around him!!! JK can’t do that!!!
I would want two first rounders and a good layer in return. JK could be the foundation of the post Butler, Curry Warriors. Seen enough of JK to feel he could be a star in the league. Maybe not a super star for a few years but potential is there.
No we will keep JK.
Yep. Change 6.7 for 6.3 guard at the Olden State Warriors
Y'all get vooch,
Kuminga and Post for Sar and a 2nd rounder
I'm tired of the warriors getting rid of assets for penny on the dollar. Resign JK and worst comes to worst you trade him at the deadline. These trades make no sense. Trading Kuminga for garbage doesn't get us anywhere. If the kings want him the conversation doesn't start until Keon Ellis or Keegan Murray. For the Bulls it's giddey. Coby White is a nice player but the Jazz just gave away sexton and Jordan Clarkson that are equivalent players and not high needs for us.
It's Kispert, not Krispert, Johnson is a PG rather than a shooting guard and there is zero percent chance the Wiz would trade next year's #1 pick to you. The Wiz own swap rights with the Dubs in 2030 so cancelling that is more likely. I agree the Warriors will be after George, who played PF last year rather than SG as your graphic showed.
if you wanted a player that can't shoot, you'd probably be able to get ben simmons for a stick of gum. but you don't want a player who can't shoot
I can’t wait until nba season starts again because I can’t deal with daily click baits from this channel in the mean time.
Your Marcus Smart trade is ludicrous! If GSW is in a “win” now mode to maximize Curry, how would Marcus Smart remotely help the team with that this upcoming year? I feel like GSW is trying to “rebuild” and “Win” and the same time. And it reflects in there no movement and low trade strategy they’ve been doing over the last couple of years. Decide what you are doing and do it. Every one should have been expendable after the “Poole punch year”. except Steph. That shipped has sailed. Dray has no trade value. And Klay’s was low when we decided to come off of him. it we gave Poole away for some laffy taffy’s.
Kuminga would be slow-witted by signing and trading with the loser Wizards. Just play out your contract and become an UFA.
Who is funding these "(Team) Digest" channels…the NBA?
@warriors digest i dunno where you getting your valuation on kuminga because he is not wort a sarr, bilal or bub or a 1st round pick. kuminga getting 30 million a year is a bad contract right away as he is a low iq basketball player as well.
wizards just got cam whitmore for two 2nds so i doubt they be trading for overpriced kuminga that doesnt impact winning stats.
unless kuminga willing to sign for 12 million a year, you wont get much back for him. basically filler in an older player contract possibly expiring and two 2nds if kuminga making 30 million cuz he not worth half of that but only a third.
