INSANE Pelicans Trade Update… They are Delusional | Pelicans News

We have an insane Pelicans trade update and the only question we got to ask is are these guys delusional? Like for real. We’re going to talk about some of the latest trade rumors involving Eve Missy inside this edition of Pelicans Digest. What’s good with it once again everybody? And of course, you’re probably waking up this morning and seeing a bunch of headlines or probably you saw it late last night, a bunch of trade rumors out there involving the Pelicans. And listen, man, it’s always so fun to be a fan of this team for a bunch of different reasons because one of the stigmas that the Pelicans have is that we are the Los Angeles Lakers GLeague affiliate in some way, shape, or form. If you recall when we had Chris Paul, when we had Chris Paul tried to trade him to the Lakers and uh the NBA put the Kai Bosch on that. Then we had Anthony, then we had this guy Anthony Davis and what happened? Traded him to the Lakers and and you know the story goes on from there. And now once again, we are hearing these stories about the Lakers want to try to get their hands on Eve Missy, the 19-year-old all rookie second team center uh who started his first who had a great first season with the Pelicans last year uh despite going through some injuries. And uh here’s the report because listen man, this is so hilarious man. The report says that the Lakers called the Pelicans to inquire about trading their all rookie second team center Eve Missy. According to Brett Seagull. Okay. Now, one thing I want you to pay attention to about that is they called. Don’t mean we answer the damn phone. They called. They can call all day. You can call all day. It don’t mean that there’s a deal going through. But this also speaks to something that I confirmed and spoke on in a previous video a couple of days ago. I spoke on this. I say that big men will become a premium in the NBA. I spoke on this. That’s why I was telling the Pels and I was correcting the Pel for the Pels to go get Kvon Looney and also I was cor and and also the Pels when it showed up their center position with Queen. Plus, you also went and showed up more center death and more big man death in Hunter Dickerson on a two-way contract. So again, this confirms what I’ve been trying to tell y’all for the last couple of days now is that big men are about to become at a premium in the NBA because everybody has seen that you need some sort of rim protection if you want to win. These last few years, I know that you you’ve been seduced by the the Golden State Warriors small ball and all that other stuff. As you see, that hasn’t been that’s not what’s going on in the league right now. The premium is to try to find some big men that’s 610 or bigger. And this is what I said. So, this is what’s so hilarious about this though because I had I I had to look this up some more. Uh clutch points. According to uh the story that they wrote that they say that the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft may be more attainable than many would imagine. Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins have been two names floated around in trade rumors with New Orleans want to add more size. sources says again confirming something that I said before in a video a couple of days ago that Jose Alvarado was more than likely going to be the blame the man out. Now Jordan Hawkins that’s that’s a different situation. I would like to see Jordan Hawkins stay on this team, but I also knew that José Alvarado was going to be the possible odd man out when this with this new re uh roster reconstruction. So that confirms something out and that also tells me that they’ve been floating his name around as trade bait along with Jordan Hawkins. Now, unfortunately, I don’t want to see Jordan Hawkins. I want to see Jordan Hawkins stay on this team and hopefully get a shot to improve. But getting back to me, though, getting back to me though real quick, you know, it’s I just keep finding it so funny that over these years of being a Pelicans fan, over these years, you know, we get told how much our players suck, how we don’t have any good good good players at all. And then you turn around, fast forward three to six months later or a year later, and now everybody’s trying to poach that player. these so-called players that they thought sucked away from the Pelicans like like you remember Jackson Hayes everybody was you remember Jackson Hayes went to the Lakers we had Jackson Hayes all Jackson Hayes suck that Jackson Hayes suck and then next thing you know oh we got Jackson Hayes it’s a party yay we got Jackson Hayes and who else that was I just thought about him a little while ago also Dyson Daniels same thing now Dyson Daniels has been shining in Atlanta but it was the same thing with Dyson Daniels man Dyson Daniels ain’t got no offense why we picking up Dyson Daniels Now, everybody loves Dyson Daniels. Everybody want Dyson Daniels on their team. Same thing with Herb Jones. Again, Herb Jones, a couple of years ago, everybody was saying nobody want Herb Jones. Now, everybody’s fighting to try to trade Herb Jones. But this also speaks to a problem that’s deeper within that organization in Los Angeles than it does more to the Pelicans. And that’s why I keep arguing for weeks now that the Pelicans have made some excellent moves in this particular draft session and also in free agency because now you see everybody trying to get what we got. Everybody wants their hands on what we got. The question is, can I say this in a video yesterday, can Willie Green coach this up and make it manageable? Can Willie Green again give EC more minutes? One of the things I said in a previous video also was that Eve miss has got to be on your opening night starting five rotation. And this should prove it right there. This should cement that fact that you need to have Eve Missy in your starting five on opening night, not Looney, not Queen. Now, you want to pair Queen with them, that’s fine. But I’ve said this before, your starting five on opening night needs to be Zion, Herb Jones. You got to get first team all defense not coming off the bench. You don’t want first team all defense coming off the bench. I’m sorry. I think Herb is going to make an improvement in his shooting, but it’s going to work. You start with your guards Trey Murphy and Jordan Pool and you go with Eve Missy in the center. You have to go with Eve Missy because now you see that the tape is out on him and everybody is trying to get their hands on him now. And you have a all rookie sensation in the center position. Now, I ain’t going to say sensation because he was hurt, but he could have been a sensation had he not been hurt because at some point at early points in last season, Eve Missy was on the leaderboard for rookie of the year. So, so again, if you’re the Pelicans, you have got to feel good about everything that’s in your cupboard right now because now you see folks are calling around trying to trade and get get big men. And I told you this before, big men are about to become a premium in the NBA. There’s a lot of teams that are going to be looking for rim protection and big men in the future because, you know, all that three-point shooting, all these guys yanking and chunking it from three hasn’t really led to le to wins for a lot of team. You saw what happened with Oklahoma City. It wasn’t so much the three-point shooting, it was their ability to attack the lane and also have rim protection that got them the championship. It also led same thing with uh Indiana the Pacers that won the final last year. You had Hallebertton slashing and going in, but you also still had sufficient rim protection. Defense is about to become a premium. You need defensive players and you have Eve miss a rising talent on your team. Now listen, if Joe Dumar trades this man, this cast is about to get a whole lot more negative. Let me be clear here because I know you know a lot of y’all have jumped on because you know you said you know we try to give you a good spin on a lot of the things and a lot of the moves and give you a different perspective. But I can promise you this trade even Missy if you want to and this podcast gonna get ugly real quick because you don’t again the Pelicans problem for all these years has been taking these so-called phone calls from teams like the Lakers and other uh uh so-called establishment franchises and trading away our good talent, our young talent and not giving them time and at the same time having a head coach that doesn’t want to play them, doesn’t want to give him time to get in the game and develop them and we end up moving that that asset for some foolishness. So again, I again if you they the Lakers are being delusional here, but I also understand because they are desperate because nobody because apparently nobody really wants to go on the LeBron James farewell tour. Nobody wants to be a part of that it seems like this year. So again, if you’re a Pel fan, you should be excited because this should prove to you that we have assets. We have a ton of good assets that we could do and do pretty well with going into the playoff, going into the season, and also we have assets that we can move that can still get us back into a draft situation if that comes to that. But you should feel good about this and also recognize that the Lakers are being delusional. But watch their fan base come in these comments talking about we don’t want missy missy trash and this this y’all y’all should be lucky we won’t miss. I promise you that’s what’s coming. That’s what’s coming. So, and then 10 and then again three months from now they going to be screaming we want that. But this is confirming everything that I’ve said about the Pelicans. The premium is the big man is a premium and you’ve already stashed off three four of them. You got like three four in the cut stashed off. So no, don’t got don’t give them no help. Make them go go in the G- League and go find somebody or make them go to Europe or Africa or somewhere else and go find their center. We got ours. We got ours and we going to hang on to them. But I promise you this though, if they do move that man, it’s gonna be ugly on this podcast. Trust me, it’s gonna get real ugly real quick.
