The Bulls Might Actually Know What They’re Doing?! 👀💼 Chicago Bulls #RealTalk

Welcome to another episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhayen the fourth and on this episode we will be going over free agency speculation you guys and also at the end I will give you guys my thoughts on a few different things that happened over the last few days while Nick was covering down for me. I appreciate you boss as always but I want to know from you guys if you are glad that AK is actually negotiating. Hit that like button. I don’t know about you guys but I would have uh made a bet that he didn’t know what that word meant. Like I didn’t know it was in his playbook. I’m impressed. Uh especially after what happened with Pew Will last year. Like these guys actually learned from a mistake in one year, guy. Like watch out. And our question for the day. Are you interested in Quentyn Grimes? Type Y for yes. Type N for no. I have a feeling I know how this is going to play out, but you know, considering the the the the episode uh theme today, I figured that this would be, you know, I I would actually love to if you have a different opinion based on the fact of Josh Giddy getting traded or having to leave because he would be signed. I’d love to know if there there’s a a distinction there for you. Like would you like Grimes if we also still had Giddy or like do you just not like Grimes at all? whether or not like that Giddy was here with him or not, like that doesn’t matter. You just don’t like Grimes. I asked because it it seemingly feels like we won’t be able to sign both Grimes and Giddy uh for what they’re going to look for. So, it’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out. Um because it feels like a negotiating tactic. But before we go too much f further, uh I want to share this giveaway with you guys. We’re going to be announcing a winner on July 6th. To enter, just like the video, uh answer our comment of the day. You can answer with Y or N or you can uh talk uh you know more in depth with me about it. Uh and subscribe and that’s all you got to do. It’ll be a custom name Bulls jersey. The winner will get a message from me in their uh messages. Uh you have to accept uh and answer the questions that I send you. Uh and then yeah, then we’re good to go. But all right, let’s talk about it. Acme knows negotiations. Congratulations, buddy. Old dogs can new can learn new tricks. Confirmed on just another year. Chicago Bulls. Uh honestly uh for so for anyone who’s not aware um last year when Arturus Carnosovas and Mark Everly resigned Patrick Williams they caught a lot of you know flak for lack of a better word because they they did not let the market decide the contract price. Now I’m not somebody that always thinks that’s a smart idea. I feel like if you have a really good player, like a great player, and they’re not like pounding the table for a max, you sign them. Like, don’t let them get to the if they’re a great player like, and it’s known in the league, they’re established so well that they’re that they could easily get a max offer. You don’t let that happen. If you can get a deal done in advance with a guy like Patrick Williams, yeah, you let someone else pay him for potential. And then you decide, okay, am I going to pony up to someone else’s stupid move or because because I still see upside or do I say, “Wow, that deal is stupid.” And then you look smart. Well, the Bulls didn’t do either of those things. They just paid him $18 million annually and by all accounts, there would not have been that market for him if he was just allowed to seek it. So that’s why it’s very curious to see what the Bulls are doing here. Uh, it was reported by Kevin Pelton of ESPN that Chicago could be pivoting to Quentyn Grimes as he would be a a fit on their team and they could be a potential suitor. I also made sure I uh listed the height in meters and weight in kilograms here for our friends that do not use our systems. You know, all systems created equally. Treat all systems equally. Uh height is 6’4 uh and or 1.93 meters, weight 210 pounds and 95 kilograms. Drafted six overall in 2021. Uh 25 years old and has played small forward and shooting guard in his career. Now last season after the break, I I only grabbed his stats from after the break because his role significantly increased due to a couple of injuries. There is an injury to uh let’s see here there were missing Paul George, Joel Lmbiad, and Tyrese Maxi. So basically, nobody there wasn’t a go-to guy. And then so Quentyn Gra Grimes raised his hand and said, “Why not me?” Yeah. Ended up going off for 33.8 minutes a game, 22.7 points per game, 4.7 assists per game, five rebounds per game, and 1.5 steals per game. That’s over his last 24 games after the All-Star break. And his last 12 games are even more impressive. His last 12 games, he averaged 24 and a half, 5.5 assists, 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals still, and 3.5 three-pointers. I’m not going to lie to you. If that’s actual if you actually did that for a whole season, you’re a superstar. Like that’s he like and now I’m not saying he he can do it because that was only over the last 12 games. And you always have to consider the talent that’s on the team with them because look, he could do this until the Cows come home. But eventually, he’s gonna have to play with other great players. And if he just falls off completely whenever, you know, anyone with serious, I guess, alpha or beta talent is on the floor with him, then he’s not worth that deal. But you, you know, sometimes I feel like it’s about offenses generating shots for these guys, too. Um, instead of them always having to look for their own. but he is rumored to be looking for $25 million average salary and then he’s also uh or for a total of 64 million. So he’s looking for 25 annually. But what they’re saying he’s going to get is more like 16. So when you 16 time 4 is where I got the 64 million. Um I shouldn’t put average in there. That’s my mistake. But he would be 25 to 29 during this contract. And honestly I think it would be a highly likely match. I don’t think Philly Philly is not going to let this dude walk. Um they specifically like have made the moves they’ve made this off season um or lack thereof all suggest that they are primed to um match any offer for Quinn Grimes and it’s smart because they were in a bad spot. Like Quinn Grimes if he ends up being good literally saved them like Cayman was good out of nowhere. But I had I had to put that the Bulls did not botch restricted free agency because look guys, we we can’t go crazy on AK for all the bad stuff they do and then just ignore stuff that’s good because like if you make a good move, you should get credit for it. But if your job has still been poor as a whole, you could still say this was a good move, but you still suck, man. Like that’s still in the in the cards, you guys. But we’re going to quickly go to the end of this video. notes of the summer league roster is here. While it is a majority of the names that you would know, I wanted to mention two in particular, but one I’m going to give all the attention to. So, Bulls Nation, this is your summer league team on the right. Uh I don’t want to go through all the names. I will butcher half of them, but and but we did bring in a new player who was on the Memphis Grizzlies uh for a two-way contract last year. Yuki Kawamura, sorry, Yuri Kaw Kawamura. Oh yeah, that’s a that’s a it is Yuki. That is my mistake. S I uh S I had a misspel. So I um it is Yuki Kalamura. He is 5 foot8. He is the shortest player in the NBA. And he actually had a number of viral clips last year uh where he you know I actually think I have a couple pulled up here. He uh so there was in the season finale he put up 28 minutes and against the against the Dallas Mavericks. So he scored 12 points uh with three three-pointers, five assists, and five rebounds. Um that was his strongest game in the NBA. Then in the G-League, uh overall he averaged 12 and a half points, uh eight assists, three rebounds, and one and a half steals over 24 regular season games. So he’s the shortest player in the league. A lot of fun. He’s being regarded as one of the leaders of the golden age of Japanese basketball and uh yeah, he’s gonna be a lot of fun, man. I think this is the guy the kind of guy that uh Bulls fans love. But real quick, Matas already being Yoda in year two. That’s my dude. I haven’t seen a a rookie get this kind of like he’s being anointed by the Bulls. It’s very clear what they think of him. I’m glad they see it because like I you know, you just don’t know what them but I’m glad they see it. But prep for Yuki Mania, everybody, because all that’s gonna happen is that Yuki is gonna come, he’s gonna average 30 points a game in the summer league in Vegas, and then we’re just going to trade Josh Giddy. Just kidding. We’re never doing that. But Yuki Mania would be pretty awesome. Got to imagine that uh you know, Yuki Mania can run wild in Chicago. But real quick, I wasn’t here with you guys when we signed Trey Jones instead of Taylor Horton Tucker. If Trey if Trey Jones was later signed by for what he was signed for by us, like if we let him go, if we just did not try and sign him and he was signed for this deal somewhere else, you have to under like we would have killed AK because none of us thought he was only going to be an $8 million a year average player. Like we would have all been like, “Yeah, sign us up. That’s that’s a tear in the bucket.” But like, so for him to for us to actually make that deal and to be pretty uh I don’t know, aggressive about it, like it was pretty quickly out of the gate. If you’re going to criticize him, if this was done to us by someone else, you have to at least be okay with saying you did good here, AK, but you still need like five more moves that are good before I take you from F minus. But honestly, there’s no shortcuts this time. It feels like it feels like we’re really trying to build this team, right, you guys. It really does feel like we’re trying to build through the draft, you know, take a yearby-year continuity. Uh, you know, developing bonds and developing a well a well-rounded team that that plays for each other. Uh, that’s what we’ve seen in the finals, and that’s why it was one of the uh the best finals in the last like seven years because those are two teams that wanted it and had been working for it. So, I think that that’s the way to go is you have to You have to take it year by year unless you’re the Lakers and you can just get Nico Harrison to trade you Luca Donuch. But that’ll do it for this episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhden the fourth. I appreciate you guys for sticking with me and thank you again, Nick, uh, for covering down for me this week. And until next time, I am seeing red more than ever, baby. Let’s go.

Welcome back to Just Another Year Chicago: Bulls — the #1 spot for REAL Chicago Bulls talk, with your host, Philip Charles VanDerHeyden IV (@JAYCPhil), bringing the fire 🔥 in yet another episode during one of the wildest-yet-quietest NBA free agency periods in recent memory.

💥 In today’s episode, PCV IV dives into a spicy new RUMOR dropped by ESPN’s Kevin Pelton, linking the Chicago Bulls to none other than Philadelphia 76ers forward/guard Quentin Grimes 👀. Could Artūras Karnišovas and Co. be playing strategic chess with this interest to create leverage in their own tense negotiations with restricted free agent Josh Giddey?

Let’s be real here — with the Jonathan Kuminga pipe dream pretty much DOA 💀 and multiple RFAs across the league being left high and dry in this cold, cold market… it’s looking like this offseason might end up being a blessing in disguise for the Bulls’ front office. Is Grimes a smokescreen or a real target? Is Giddey stuck with less leverage than expected? Are the Bulls suddenly… competent at negotiation⁉️

PLUS — the Chicago Bulls Summer League roster is officially revealed, and PCV IV shares his raw, unfiltered feelings on how the last few days of the Bulls’ offseason movement (or lack thereof) stack up.

Buckle up — it’s another day of smoke, rumors, strategy, and raw passion for Bulls Nation. You already know how we do it. This is Just Another Year Chicago: Bulls… but there’s nothing “just another” about this one.

  2. If AK pulls off trading the Terrible Threesome of Vooch, PWill and Carter somehow during this offseason, I might come around way quicker than I thought

  3. Y, but its only a potential Y. We've got more moves to make before I'm certain on this Y. Too many rumor's about moving Coby and Ayo, Giddey resigning is the priority and can we please get a big man for our future!!

  4. Y, they know they are grifting fans. We will never win by picking up coaches and players, that championship teams got rid of… Patrick is being held back by his stupid coach. Did we forget a team full of future hall of famers was let down by their coach in the fonals? Anyone remember that? They dont run plays for Patrick. They just ask him to play defense. Giddy looks great against smaller guys. He looks like a bag of dog shit against bigs. Are white people so desperate to have representation, that they cant see dog shit? Is that how Thump fooled you bitches? Stockholm syndrome. Pride? Fear of loss? Too racist to care about facts? Giddy should be in the G league, learning to play forward. Matas is your champ. He is the basktball star, you wished for! All the Gidfy glaze is Dead. Giddy is a fake bully. You want to impress me, play against guys your size. Lose some weight, get faster, jump higher. Getting tripple doubles on 6'3” is childish. He to slow, too earthbound, too weak to play forward. His defense does not exist. I would rather have dry towel, than Giddy. The towel has purpose. He is just posing as a bully.

  5. The bulls front office is too stupid to make a deal that would help the team that's why they can't get anyone worth going after to come to the bulls

  6. N. If you can't get both then Giddey is what the team is building around.

That means fast transition, being younger and fitter than other teams, better bench rotation, and opening up the center with better 3pt shooting.

Now we must have to hope giddey has a good start to next season. He has always started slow.
