He just took a MASSIVE Leap…
The summer league has just begun for the Grizzlies and two players have taken massive leaps already in the start of the 2025 2026 summer league over with the win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hi everybody. Welcome back to Grizzy’s Digest. Tristan Harland back with you. Hope you guys had a happy 4th of July. If you don’t celebrate h the 4th of July, hope you guys had a fantastic Friday. Um we’re here. It’s early. Sorry for the late video, but the summer league has just started off. So, we want to get I want to get on here and talk to you guys about the game and talk about two players that absolutely took over the game and had a combined of 40 points. And that being GG Jackson and JDub Jaylen Wells. Now, before we begin, holy crap, you guys did it. You went to that subscribe button. You lit the smack it down on that Rudy Pooh subscribe button. We sub we have supp s supp s supp s supp s supp s supp s supp s supp s supp s supp s suppressed we have taken over okay it’s late I just I I was working a baseball game today it was hot the heat the the heat got me not the Miami Heat the Arkansas heat because that’s where I’m that’s where I am Arkansas for right now maybe going to Memphis soon who knows but you guys absolutely dropped the subscribe button with an elbow drop for all my wrestling fans out there love you guys we we hit the thousand subscriber Mark, that’s huge. Of course, you’ve already heard Jared tell you all tell you guys that now we can look to do more things like live stream, stuff like that. But just because we hit 1,000 subscribers does not mean we’re done, okay? We don’t we don’t this we don’t bluff. Okay? No, 1,000 subscribers is not where we’re stopping. Okay? We’re not stopping until I don’t We’re never going to stop. Okay? That we’re never going to stop. We are on the quest to two thou two to 2,000 subscribers. That’s a lot of twos in one sentence, but we are on the quest for 2,000 subscribers. So, if you guys are not subscribed, and I’m talking to 88.6.623 SL carry to two. No, in all seriousness, I’m talking to 88.6% of you guys. You’re not subscribed. You’re watching the videos. You’re interacting with the videos. Make sure you’re clicking that subscribe button because while yes, we did hit 1,000 subscribers, now we just got to hit the next goal and then the next goal and then the next goal. And eventually, it called me crazy, but eventually we’re going to hit a million subscribers. And it’s be and it’s going to be because of all of you watching this video, these videos, sharing with your friends, watching them with your family, and making sure you’re clicking that subscribe button for some of the best content over the Memphis Grizzlies that you’ll see right here on YouTube. And I’m not going to say it’s better in Grant City Media because they’re right there beside the VX form and each of us are in our respective homes. Excuse me. So yeah, uh 88.6% of you are not subscribed. 11.3% of you guys are, which by the way, from the time I started doing videos with Grizz to now, got to give you guys a round of applause for bringing that subscribe uh bar up and the nonsubscribe bar down. So let’s keep it going. Let’s keep on the trend. But but guys, we’re one big happy family here. So again, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sub surpassing 1,000 subscribers. It means a lot to me. It means a lot to everybody else here on Grizzlies Digest. Some of you, some of those people that you do see like me and Jared and some of the people that you don’t see just yet because they’re busy doing other things. I’m not going to give them I’m not going to say their names because guess what? When they come back to the channel, I want you guys to be shocked at who it is. Okay? Just know this person is a superstar and she is a track phenom. And that’s all I’m gonna say. I’m gonna leave you guys. I’m gonna leave it up to you guys to figure out who I’m talking about. But nonetheless, it’s time to stop talk being stupid and goofy and being a Here you go, wrestling fans. Being a dummy. Yeah. And talk about the Miss Grizz, which everybody’s here for. So, of course, the summer league started this evening. started at 6 PM Central time in Utah as they took on the reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. While yes, they did beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, I’m not going to say we beat the defending defending NBA champions because it’s summer league and we didn’t play this Oklahoma City Thunder. We played the Seattle Thunder. If you get that joke, you get that joke. If you don’t if you don’t get the joke, just Google Oklahoma City Thunder before they were in Oklahoma City. You’ll put two and two together. But anyways, so two players had monster games. Now, before we get into that, going to go ahead and look at the box score here. Of course, Jaylen Wells and Gigi Jackson both had a 20piece McNugget. They had themselves a game. Uh, five of 14 for Mr. Wells, eight of 15. Uh, eight of 15 for Gigi now playing over 20 minutes. It was a great game. Um, of course, you’re seeing all the stats for all these players now. Speaking of what a roster the Grizzlies have assembled um for the summer league. I mean some of these players that didn’t even play uh let’s put you this way. This is a tough Grizzlies team right now. And arguably you you add in John and Jiren. This team is one of the youngest and hungriest teams in the league. But this is summer league so we’re going to keep talking about that. Of course you’re seeing Cam Spencer in there dog. Uh, Bacott dog. Pulling dog. Javon Small dog. Nate Hint Hinton dog. Eftton Reed III dog. You You get where I’m going with this? They’re all some D- AWG dogs. But again, the one guy we’re going to focus on is GG Jackson for this video because I mean, this is this is a guy that a lot of people were kind of giving up on in the offseason when everything was kind of going on. um they were kind of expecting to hear the news of Gigi Jackson getting traded or getting released or getting weighed or anything along those lines and I think Gigi Jackson proved his worth tonight. Now, of course, Wells did score 20, but Wells was a starter on the NBA roster at some point and Gigi was too. Um, don’t get me wrong, Gigi had his moments in the in the league with the Grizzlies when injuries were happening. But now now we’re seeing Gigi back to where he was and he’s showing the coaching staff that he’s not just an explainer. He’s a he’s a bucket getter. And and look, here’s the thing. And and this is going to sound crazy cuz this only game one of the summer league, but I don’t think we’ve seen this summer league team to its full potential yet. Now again, call me crazy, but when you’ve got guys on this roster like Gigi Jackson, who with the hustle the past two season seasons, he’s almost average 20. I I mean, look, you you’re going to see some good basketball from from GI Jackson, Wells, and all these other guys. Which speaking of, I was reading the comments, and I understand the Hustles mascot is in the comments, so shout out to you. Forgot your YouTube handle. I apologize, but I know you’re in there. So, shout out to you, homie. much love and much love to everybody in the comments section. Those that are calling me out on my all my BS and those of you that are saying that you love the videos and you’re subscribing and stuff like that. So, shout out to everybody engaging in the comments and everything. I see you and I hear you. Trust me, I’m working to get better every day. And if I can get 1% better than I was yesterday, I’m happy. But anyways, Gigi Jackson, absolute dog. Um, he’s gonna he’s in for a great season and I don’t think he’s to his full potential yet because again, this guy is a guy who was averaging trip not averaging triple doubles, but he was having triple doubles in the G-League. He was dropping over 40 points, over 20 points. I mean, this guy was a natural scoreer in the G-League. Now, yes, while the G-League is not as competitive as it as the NBA regular season teams are, it is still competitive 5v5 basketball. And and look, here’s the thing. I’m not on the roster, but I can guarantee you that that if you go into one of these practices and you watch how the Grizzlies are practicing in the summer league, you’re going to see the exact same thing in the regular season minus some couple tweaks because of course Jiren’s going to have a different set plays for them as Jaylen and GG and uh Ace Ballwin Jr. and all these other people on the summer on the summer league roster will have. But but again, you’re looking at this and you’re like, “Okay, why does this matter? It’s only summer league. It’s it’s first game of the season for the summer league squad. There’s still a couple more games to go and then the tournament and the preeason and then the regular season. So Tristan, why does this matter? Why should I care about a stupid summer league game?” Now, let me tell you why you should care about a stupid summer league game. Now, we’re family, so come on in close. Everybody gather around so so I could tell you a story. But you go back through the summer league rosters. I’m talking from 2010 to now. Look at how many NBA Allstars are on these rosters. Now I’m not talking just for the Grizzlies. Excuse me. I’m talking about for the Thunder. Talking about for the Clippers. I’m talking about for the Sixers. I’m talking about for the Magic. Ben Rodgers. I’m looking at you when I say this cuz you’re my boy. I’m even talking about the Toronto Raptors. All these teams have had allstars or had phenomenal players on their summer league rosters where these players have gotten their beginnings getting a taste that professional style basketball and they hone their skills in training camp. Then the regular season starts and these guys are starting in the what used to be known as the D-League, now the G-League. They’re getting calls up to the main roster, so to speak. They’re balling out. They’re getting big contracts and they’re becoming stars in the NBA. Now, somebody specific, look at Pascal Seakum. He was in the D-League. He played on a couple summer league rosters and now, you know, he’s one of the better power forwards in the league. I’m not saying he’s the best because he’s not, but he’s one of the better ones. But overall, while yes, it’s just game one of a multi multi-game league in a game series of different opponents and different matchups. Right now, everybody who had questions over Cedric Coward, over all these draft picks the Grizzlies were making and all these younger guys that the Grizzlies were bringing in and complaining about the Grizzlies getting younger instead of getting better in experience. This is your time to watch these players to understand who these players are as as humans and as ball players because these guys are going to be the guys that are carrying the franchise for the next two to 10 years h if they stay in the league that long or we could see them go overseas for a couple years and hone their crabs, come back, maybe go to a different roster for a year or two, maybe make their way back to Memphis. But overall, the big thing here is just the star potential the Grizzlies have. Now, I’m not going to go on a ramble about each star, but again, I do want to bring up the box score real quick before I get out of here. 20 points for Wells, 20 points for Jackson, 14 points for Cam Spencer. Cam Spencer is probably probably going to be one of the best defenders on the Grizzlies roster this upcoming season. And I’m not going to say I’m going to bet on it, but I I will say I would would not be shocked. And while yes, there’s, like I said, there’s a lot of games going on from the time you watch this video to the time we talk about the next game, I mean, I’m sure somebody else is going to step up in the scoring column. But what you need to know is this, and I’m going to recap this in 60 seconds so I can get out of here because I know a lot of you guys don’t like the longer style videos, and I’m trying to adhere to that and, you know, meet you guys in the middle. 60-second recap. It’s probably not going to be 60 seconds. I just like saying 60c recap. GG Jackson and Jaylen Wells have absolutely proved themselves as absolute stars in the league. While yes, they they deserve to be on the Grizzlies main roster, GG’s probably not going to be at the start of the season, while Jaylen Wells will be a starter. Cam Spencer showing he’s an absolute dog. I know I’ve said that a million times, but I’m going to say it again. He can score, he can defend, he can do a lot of things that the Grizzlies can ask him for. Now, the best thing is that the head coach for the summer league squad is going to be the same guy that’s coaching the Grizzlies in in the regular season. So, some of these guys you may see come up for a couple games, go back to the G-League, come back up so and kind of float back and forth on on two-way deals so that the Grizzlies can have young inexperienced players to get that experience so that they have players moving forward in the future. Now, what this means for the Grizzlies right now, it means that they have a lot of potent star potential on their summer league roster that as we’re going to see throughout the course of the summer league, they may have the best summer league team in the entire NBA. Now, there’s still a lot of games to go before that’s proven true, but the Grizzlies have won the summer league championship before. I believe they could do it again with this roster. But I’m gonna wrap it there. This has been another episode of Grizzlies Digest. Real quick before I go, I want to remind everybody that 88.6% of you guys are not subscribed and 11.3% of you guys are subscribed and you’re in the family. Now, for the 88.66 88.6% of you, I want to say come on to the Grizzlies Digest family. Come on. We we accept you with open arms. I give you a big hug. We’re going to talk more free agent signings, more trades, what more more wins? What? More stuff for the Grizzlies. What? Right here on Grizzlies Digest. So guys, again, thank you so much for watching. I’ll see you guys next time.

I like your content. The offers you receive in the future whether radio or beat writer consider it. You good at what you do and you have good energy. The reason I subscribed. Wouldn't be surprised if 929 or grind city eventually make you a offer or even some local. The market is huge.
It seem like GG Jackson was playing out of control. I would love to see him refine his art some and elevate to be a starter. I think the refs was just letting them play. Zach was the one who needed this condition more than anyone.
Nice content bro. I subbed a few weeks ago. Where do you live?
Bro took 5 years to start the video💀
