This Bucks News Is Crazy

All right, so this one was crazy. The Bucks are waving and stretching Dame’s contract, which allows them to sign Miles Turner with a trade kicker. And they also got Gary Harris. This is a wild one, man. First and foremost, of course, best wishes to Dame. Hoping for a full recovery after the Achilles. We’ve already saw one report saying that Miami is interested in Dame because he’s on the market now. The Dame era with the Bucks was something. You know, injuries definitely derailed playoff chances, but also they were not a complete team. They got worse on defense after losing Drew. Middleton and Brooke got old. A bunch of things happened. Stretching his deal. They’re paying 20 something million a year for the next five seasons for Dame’s money. And having dead money on your cap sheet for that long that you can’t get rid of is just going to make any team building anything more difficult. I mean, yeah, sometimes teams have bad contracts for guys that just aren’t really doing anything for them, but very rarely do those contracts go out for 5 years. And also, you can get out of a bad contract. Once you stretch a guy, that’s it. You cannot get out of it. But we assume Giannis doesn’t want to go. They don’t want to trade him. This was the last tool they had to make the team better right now. I mean, the alternative to this would have been you’re just not good at all because you don’t have a center. I’m not going to focus on this for the whole vid, but this is just a crazy unheard of stretch of a contract. And anything you imagine the Bucks doing between going for a free agent, making a trade, whatever, you just got to have this in the back of your head the whole time. Now, if Giannis ever actually does ask out, I mean, it certainly doesn’t help that you just have 20 something less million to work with, but I mean, they would just get a lot of picks, young guys, whatever. Anyway, let’s talk about the basketball stuff. So, Miles Turner, first off, that’s a big loss for the Pacers because his spacing and his pick and pops with Hallebert and those open up the floor and it’s another thing you got to worry about and it’s more ground you have to cover and close out which just allows the Pacers to just be their drive and kick machine, right? I know the last time we saw him he could not make a shot versus OKC, but he was still very valuable for them. And he’s also grown with his like off the dribble stuff as well. And how could I forget loved in Indiana as the team changed however many times around him? You knew what you were going to get from him at center every night. Pacer fans are a bit upset he went to the Bucks sports fandom. Is there anything like it? And also Halley opened up Miles Turner’s scoring game from everywhere, not just from the three-point line. So for the Pacers, it’s going to feel a bit weird with them now. I mean, Turner not there. Hallebert obviously out this next season. And of course Turner can space the floor out for Giannis. And defensively, yeah, Turner’s best days are behind him on defense. Even so, once the Pacers were healthy, they were just a good defense. Yeah, a lot of that’s Nith, Nemhard, Seakkum, but Turner’s part of that. Still at two blocks a game. He’s not competing for an alldefense team anymore, but between him and Giannis as a help defender, that can be the foundation of a good defense. Now, they’re going to need more perimeter defenders to be a really good defense. But, I mean, he was still at what, two blocks a game this past season once the Pacers were healthy with Nemhard and Nith. Their defense was way better. Turner was part of that. Like he is the type of five that you want next to Giannis. We just saw this with Brooke for years. Right now the what 107 for four years trade kicker player option whatever. It’s an average of like 26 million a season which puts him in line with like Tobias, Koosma, John Collins, Nick Claxton. Koozma and Tobias are definitely overpays. Collins was like pretty underrated this year. Honestly Claxton was not as good this season. And I saw that Purle just signed basically the same deal with the Raptors. So all right, here’s your going rate for good starting centers. The trade kicker is a bit wild. However, if you want to view it as the dame cap hit plus Miles Turner’s money, well then yeah, it’s an insane amount of money for Miles Turner. But again, if Giannis is not going to get dealt, there wasn’t really much left to do. you know, they give it a couple of years, more distant draft picks could open up and then at some point they could get probably one more big swing deal to try to put another star next to Giannis or just get good players period. I know there was the Chris Haynes tweet about how Giannis feels about this. I am not freaking out about that at all. Now, they will have still some draft picks here. I mean, they are going to have the less favorable of this pick that the Pelicans gave to the Hawks for the next draft. And I mean, they’re just going to have to find some diamonds in the rough, man. I mean, Ryan Rollins has been a success story. Andre Jackson, he’s an athlete. AJ Green is well-liked by Bucks fans. Yeah. Let’s try to figure out how good is this Bucks team right now with Miles Turner to space the floor for Giannis and protect the basket and for Gary Harris to be a three and D guy. Now, his shooting was not as good this past season for the Magic, but I mean, two years ago when he shot well from the field, they were like 35 and 19 with him. He certainly helped, right? This past season, he played like half the year. percentages were lower, but two years ago anyway. If he can still be that and be just a perimeter defender for him, okay, you’ll take that. This team is pretty desperate for another creator around Giannis. I know that Kevin Porter Jr. did have a run towards the end of the season with Dame out. You got Trent for shooting. Bobby Portoris will get buckets off the bench. He’ll be sometimes frustrating with his overall game, but he will score off the bench. AJ Green will make shots. It feels like a team of fine role players, but there isn’t the real like second guy next to Giannis. Now, they did just have the second guy and the team still wasn’t good enough. Again, best wishes to Dame. So, I am aware that they won a lot of games late in the season with Giannis handling more and Dame was out and that whole thing. I know. I mean, the Celtics and Pacers are worse for this upcoming season. The Hawks and the Magic are better. I mean, they can definitely make the playoffs in the East, and once you get Giannis in a playoff series, who knows what happens. But the path to building another championship team around Giannis, it’s going to be really tough, man. Especially with this dame cap hit. But if Yiannis doesn’t want to go and they don’t want to trade him, then okay, here we

the bucks waived damian lillard and signed myles turner

  1. So how does money work with dame’s dead money with the bucks? Can he sign a deal with another team (like Miami) and get a new contract plus what the bucks are paying him?

  2. Ballsy move by the Bucks. I know Dame is held in such high regard but they just didn't click. He still has his money and won't be in the poor house, and now he can rehab wherever he wants, however he wants. Let Giannis stay in Milwaukee and retire a Buck. The organization has gone through a lifetime for a second title, and look at the Suns they haven't even won one and are in no shape to sniff one any time soon. Yes, you want to be in the business of competing every season but they have just lost the arms race. Detroit and New York look to be gearing up for a slugfest next season, the Hawks are going to be interesting, Orlando has gone all in and the Cavs aren't going away. Even with Dame at his best they struggled. It was brave of them to admit it didn't work. The waive-and-stretch move looks heartless but it actually isn't. Signing Turner might not be the best idea, though, but at least he's serviceable.

  3. Bucks let Dame go. Let Brook Lopez walked and waste money on a less talented Center in Myles turner. That’s crazy lame. Bucks don’t wanna win anymore

  4. Miles Turner helped OKC win a championship just a few days ago by. No wonder he's being shipped. Went PUFF when it mattered. Good lord. I feel for the Pacers, but they'll have to rebuild completely going forward. The Greek Guy in MIL is a diva now. I don't even care.

  5. This whole thing is weird for both sides. Look for the bucks imo it's a win. Losing Lopez and winding up getting a significantly way better younger player in Turner who's proven he can be a key piece to your team it's a massive win for them there. I guess the only problem i have with the bucks side of it is bc they did the whole strech and wave thing they now are essentially paying Turner 50 million a season so there cap space or trade flexibility situation is now fucked and difficult moving forward. Also paying Dame like 20+ million a season for the next 5 seasons to not be on your roster is insane and will be something that makes stuff difficult for them. However i think acain there going all in to build around Giannis and i like that aggressiveness. Also if things dont work you can flip giannis for a boat load of picks and you can get probably multipe picks for Turner with how important good centers are in today's NBA.

For the pacers this is a disastrous decision. You decide you don't want to go into the luxary tax to pay one of the best centers in league who was a crucial piece to your roster which came up just 1 win short of winning a NBA CHAMPIONSHIP. That's literally insane. They were 1 win from winning it all. The roster as constructed proved it could go the length and hell if Haliburton doesn't get hurt who knows maybe they win game 7 and win the championship. This will be a decision pacers regret for a very long time. I get next season is basically shot with Haliburton probably missing the whole season but still now this puts significant pressure on them to get a new starting center they can be happy with say by next summer.

  6. Yes Dame is wash up and he was holding the bucks.bucks need more player's they are not going too the 2026 play offs finals what they got Right now it's still not enough… And they need a true point guard and another back up back up point guard…

  7. The gm is the issue. They need to fire him and do a full rebuild. This reminds me of Washington when they had prime beal and refused to trade him despite not getting him enough help

  8. Celtics could sign him to 2 year 10M deal. He could have this year off and come back in year 2 with Tatum to win a chip.

  9. It's crazy work that the Pacers were not willing to sign him. 4 years for 100 million is super fair for a player of Myles Turner calibre. I'm sure he could've gotten more on the open market if he was willing to go wherever.

  10. I don't blame the Pacers. During the Finals, Turner's performance wasn't good; he wasn't contesting well inside the paint, he wasn't getting rebounds, plus his shooting wasn't falling too.

  11. I think the pacers are trying to take a gap year in hopes of AJ Dybantsa lind of like how the spurs took a gap year in 196-97 and landed Tim Duncan.

  12. Bud you are really stretching here to make this a positive for Milwaukee. They just committed 250 million over 5 years for Myles Turner. A guy who couldn't even stay on the floor in the crunch during the ECF and Finals when his backup was Tony Bradley and Thomas Bryant. Indy just allowed a division rival to cripple themselves for years while cutting ties with the one thing holding Indiana back 😂
