We reached a compromise and we allowed him to come back and play. I think it was seven minutes each half.
They had him on seven minute per half time limit with a stopwatch. He could be almost at midshot. It’s like tweet. All right, Jordan, you’re out.
Michael Jordan sat down. Doesn’t seem too happy to sit down. He’s fired up and ready to go.
We get to a pivotal game. We go and play Indiana. Stan got berated saying if you put him in one second more than 14 minutes, you’re fired on the spot for 14 minutes. I just go absolutely ballistic and we were in a position to win. All of a sudden the time is up.
I don’t know if Jerry came down from the stands to say, “Hey, get him out of the game.” And there’s like 30 seconds left.
I’m begging Stan. Put me in the game. It’s only 14 seconds st I can’t put you in. I’m going to lose my job. It fueled the whole theory that here we trying to not make the playoffs so we can get a better draft pick. But I’ve vowed to make the playoff every year.
