THINK TANK! Raptors Summer League Roster is out! C(O)LL-IN & tell us what you think about the team!!

Good morning, Raptor Freaks. Lexi out here. Thursday Think Tank’s in the house. Thursday ThinkTank’s been so good the last couple weeks with lots of great calls. The phone lines are open and you can call me today and we’ll talk summer league roster today since the summer league roster is officially out next week. The Raptors go to Las Vegas to play four games in the four game schedule. Chicago, Orlando, Denver, Golden State, and then they’ll get one more game after that. There’ll be five summer league games. U and we’ll have to see what the mystery game is, but they will have five games. Four of them are known so far, but yeah, starting next week. And we found out the 16-man roster for the Raptors. I have a depth chart, and I’ve extensively looked at all the players on the summer league, and it’s a very familiar summer league team. In fact, this is one of the biggest uh uh uh returns teams in the history of the Raptors summer league. There’s only like six new players out of 16. Uh 10 of the players have played in the Raptors organization at some level in some way. So there’s only six new faces. This is uncommon. Normally it’s the opposite. Normally it’s like six uh old faces and 10 new faces. No, this is this is a sign that we’ve got a very good young core that we’ve got 10 returning faces and only six new faces coming to summer league. And we’ll go over the dev chart. I want to check in with you guys on the uh comments and yeah, the phone line is open. If that phone rings, I answer it and I’ll put you on the air. So yes, the Thursday think tank callin show. Colin Murray and Boille Show. The callin Murray Boille show. The call-in Murray Boil. You get it? It doesn’t work as well saying it. All right, let’s see. Trevor J’s first in. Great to have the Commissioner of Fund back regularly on the channel. We love you, Trevor. I hope things are going great and I hope that contractor got the message. You got the message, contractor, I bet you better get the message. You make him come down there and talk to you in person. You You better get the message, contractor. All right, Trevor’s saying, “Faith doesn’t always take you out of the out of problems. It takes you through the problems. Faith doesn’t always take you away from the pain. It gives you the ability to handle the pain. Faith doesn’t always take you, but it you should have it no matter what’s going on. Seriously, I mean, things are crazy. I have to have faith right now. Things are crazy. We just got to have faith. That’s uh that’s uh what Michael George Michael used to say. You got to have faith. Faith. Faith. I gotta have faith. Faith. Faith. Baby, I’m not going to get up and shake my ass. I’m sorry. When you shake your ass, you know that’s fast. There’s some mistakes built to last. That’s what you get. That’s what you get. No, I ain’t doing that. I ain’t doing that. No. Uh Trevor is saying, “Out the storm and it calms you in the middle of the storm.” That’s right. Takes you out of the storm and calms you in the middle of the storm. There you go. Seattle storm. There you go. Cass is here. Number one top fan Cass. Good morning everyone. Good morning to you, Trucker. It is a Thursday in the middle of July. Well, the beginning of July and I hope you’re having a fantastic morning this morning. Uh Trucker Cass Trevor saying seven more days until summer league season. Yeah, Mo’Nique can’t wait. I can’t wait. You know, I realized something doing my research yesterday that Mo’Nique Lawrence, the super fan, has the same birthday as Colin Murray Boils. So, that day that we we celebrate Mo’Nique’s birthday, that’s Colin’s birthday also. They’re both June 10th babies. So, she’s birthday twinning with our new rookie superfan is birthday twinning with our new rookie CMBB. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that. I also realized doing my research that Colin Murray Boils of South Carolina Gamecocks is uh has a friendship with AJ Lawson because he’s South Carolina Gamecocks. So, it’s like those little hidden uh uh uh things that are like common in common. You know, AJ didn’t play with him, right? But they still know each other from the campus. You have the experience and going the same place. In some ways, that’s a a way to bond really fast and easy. So AJ Lawson hopefully is taking a special interest in being around Murray Boils as their alumni from the same university in the SEC, South Carolina. So you know that’s something that’s a nice tie that binds for these two young men there. Right there. That’s right. AJ of course is in a weird spot in the roster. Although cutting uh Jar Rhoden actually is very helpful for AJ’s longevity to be possibly sticking on with the Raptors for this season. He is the oldest player on our summer league roster. three years experience in the NBA. Of course, he was playing in the finals for Dallas two years ago. So, AJ Lawson is the team experienced player at the summer league roster, followed by Colin Castleton, who has two years of NBA experience, but most of the team is rookies and has not gotten on an NBA floor ever. Some of the a lot of the guys from last year, sure, but there’s some guys that have not ever played in the NBA. That’s right. That’s what’s going on, man. Trevor Seymour’s here. What pop, fam? Tapping in from the Mountain Time region. There you go. There’s our guy. Sheriff, see more p number two on the list. I I’m have to get used to this top fans thing. This is weird, man. Very weird. Oh, he took number one within a comment. I’m trying to watch our games in the summer league this year, Lex. We should do a watch along. You know, I was just thinking about this just before the stream ca I went on and I was thinking about doing a watch along, but I’ve decided I am not going to do a watch along on this channel. But for premium content for members that are on the Discord and Seymour, you can get access to the Discord. You just need to get on there. I will be on there talking during the games and doing reaction through there. That’s kind of the premium content for the channel. It’s like, sure, I’ll do the free stuff in the morning at 9:30, but I think if we’re gonna be watching the game together, I want people to be on the Discord with me. That’s where I’ll be on there because it works really well. And plus, I can hear you guys, too. If we’re in the same room in there, I can we can talk to each other during the game. And that’s a much more ideal situation for me because in some ways also, I have to think of how I’m going to do streams. And that week, I’d love to do previews and reactions just like I normally do during the season. So, it’s going to be previews and reactions and uh watch alongs through the Discord on Mike. So, I will be available to watch the games with, but it will not be a watchong on the channel. So, I hope that makes sense. But yeah, I’m looking forward to this and I’m glad you can watch because summer league’s a lot of fun. It is a lot of fun. It’s not the best basketball. It’s somewhere around like G-League level, but it’s a lot of fun to see our young prospects and what’s possible. So, yeah, that I think that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to do previews and reactions and a special Discord watch parties during the games. So, uh, let’s see what else y’all are saying. Trevor J saying, “Raptor summer league roster look badass. They they all look like they’re going to be a problem for the rest of the the teams.” I hope so. I mean, we’ve projected to be a very good summer league team for a couple years now, and we’ve haven’t we haven’t won summer league. Scotty’s year, we should have won. They kind of cheated us out of getting to the final game. We played really well, and we could have played in the final game, but they didn’t allow us to be the teams, one of the teams in the final game. Summer league’s got a weird system. In some ways, they started doing it more like the NC tournament so that it makes more sense because before summer league crown didn’t mean jack [ __ ] because the summer league teams don’t play all of each other and that’s not there’s no real way of determining who is the champion of summer league in a proper way with so few games that you’re playing. You really do need a full schedule to get 30 teams figured out who the best team is. And if you’re only playing four or five teams in the summer league, that’s not really telling you which team is the best overall. In some ways, the NBA will manipulate and give a a team the summer league crown, and it they don’t really even deserve it, too. So, I don’t take a lot of stock in winning summer league. In some ways, summer league team win doesn’t matter to me. It’s about the individuals. It’s about seeing the players and how they’ve progressed. And in particular, the guy who’s on the picture for the stream is somebody I really want to see what’s going on with that is already Shamshay. Yeah, Shamshay. That’s the dude we got to see and see what’s going on. But yeah, Scotty’s saying the same thing as you, Trevor. We’ll go to Instagram real quick and tell talk about it. First, we got Kelly Oolen playing this guy who’s rapping. He’s really good. He likes the guy. He So, he’s putting him on blast, giving him a little platform. So, some rapper dude and Kelly Oolin’s blasting him. Uh he’s also very proud of this guy Phil Prey, the son of Paul Pressie, former NBA player who Phil Pressie played in the NBA for a second too. He’s the new head coach of the Maine Celtics. So Maine Celtics hiring Phil Prey, a friend of Kelly Olen and uh his partner is what he said. But man, Kelly, you being incon Celtics nation to a degree is is kind of gross, but that’s just how it is. He’s making history. Phil Pressie. He’s the first former NBA player to be named the head coach of the main Celtics. So there you go. He played 148 games in the NBA with the Celtics, Sixers, and Suns along with 78 games in the G-League. All right, Vin Bagani checking in with his his wife and his daughter. I would tell you right now, you know, I made a comment on Jake the Snake Roberts Facebook page the other day saying, “Man, Jake, you really married out of your league.” Because Cheryl Roberts, who used to be in wrestling, who Rick Roode tried to kiss and got slapped slapped bad, she is hot. She’s like way more attractive than Jake’s old u uh crack smoking wrinkled up ass. And I’m like I wrote a comment on there said, “Man, Jake, you really married out of your league, bro. Like, holy crap. You’re like, you know, Jake the Snake was an attractive guy when he’s younger, but now he’s older, man. He don’t look right.” And uh his wife still looks smoking hot, like the same age. Well, I’m gonna say this, Vin Bagghani, they you married out of your league, bro. Your wife is smoking hot, but yeah, it’s nice to see the Bagani family here and u you know, assistant coach Bagnani, you’re you’re a great man. I always say that. Um uh Eugene Maroy is in the gym and he’s saying he’s doing his daily deposits. Basically, it’s the bank. He’s got to put in his money in the bank and that’s the curls, the lifts, and the workouts. And Eugene is all about that right now. You go, Omarui. He’s saying never beg to someone to be in your life. If you text, call, visit, and still get ignored, just walk away. It’s called selfrespect. There’s the words of wisdom from uh Eugene Omarui. There he is looking fly out in the streets. And it looks like AJ Lawson’s behind him with him. That’s pretty cool. Look, good to see. Oh, it looks like that may be a CBL game. Honestly, I’m not totally sure what game that is. What’s the logo on that guy’s Oh, it is a CBL game because that’s the River Lions. Okay, cool. So Eugene and AJ at a CBL game hanging out. Uh our guy Sandro has touched down in Toronto. There’s official on his Instagram. He has taken the the the Raptors picture of the aquarium and the tower and the Rogers Center. So he is downtown in the city. Sandro Mama Mama Mamu is here, guys. He is in the city. He is touchdown. Rap new Raptor of Sandro is in the house. That’s right. Let’s see. Bruno Fernandez got words of wisdom from some guy standing on stage. I don’t care. Jameson Battle putting on blast the roster. That’s right. And it’s really cool because like there’s the Jooks from last year on this page. You got Jacobe, Jameson, Jonathan, and Jamal. But I can’t call them the Jooks anymore. So we going to call them the J Softs. I don’t want them to be called soft though because they’re sophomores. So what do we call them? The JCs. Call them the JCs. I think that’s good. The JCs. Because uh Jay Rooks was good for them last year, but they’re not rookies no more. So we got to call them something else. J seconds because they’re in their second years. That’s right. I like that. JC, not softs because that sounds like they’re soft. There’s Jamal Shed putting in the leg work. I’m gonna tell you right now, Jamal Shed’s workout this summer has been very weight intensive. This man is building muscle. Him and Kyle Lowry, I don’t know what they’re doing, man, but they are getting jacked. Kyle Lowry looks like crazy right now. the workout films I’m seeing of Kyle Lowry in the offseason right now. Well, Jamal Shed’s doing some jacked work, too. He’s getting jacked. So, yeah, you keep going, Shetty. That’s right. He’s putting on blast. The JC on his uh picture, too. There’s Jacobe, Jameson, Jonathan, and Jamal. JC with Jamal Shed. Jay Nathan got more care packages from serious players only. This looks like some shoes. And look what he’s got. He’s got the JCs on blast on his Instagram, too. Walter Battle mobile shed. That’s right. All R Shamshay’s got his picture on the summer league roster up and he’s in the the page with uh Colin Murray Boils, Elijah Martin, AJ Lawson, and Mr. Shamshay from Cameroon who I have slotted at the number one spot for center in our summer league uh roster. We’ll have to see if I’m right about the starters for the summer league on the first game and some of that other stuff. There’s coach Andrew Jones who had his birthday this week. And there’s a young Eva be hooping. He’s very proud of the Raptor summer league uh team because some of these guys are guys he’s going to be working with with the 905 this year putting on blast all the sections of the summer league team including the the the other two parts that don’t get as much blast. Chucky Heburn uh Quincy Gary A Tyreek Key Colin Castleton you know three three of those four guys played for Raptors of Raptors 905 last year were Gary A and Key on the summer league rosters. Fantastic to see. Andrew Jones, very familiar with both of them. And welcome Chucky, the brand new two-way. And of course, Castleton played on the big squad last year. And the other guys that are kind of more unknown, we’ve got Tyson Dean Hart of Boise State, a 68 power forward three-point shooting uh player. And then we also got uh Jarkeel Joiner who played for the uh College Park Skyhawks last couple years. I watched him play against 905. And this guy is a baller. This guy is uh like a JFL. He’s a very much a score first guy, pass second. Uh but he’s a very uh very talented baller. He can put the ball in the hoop and he’s very quick and he can score a lot of points quick, but he’s very much in the JFL uh frame, which is not a winning type of player, but Jarkeel should be interesting on our summer league roster. Also, Clifford Omarui and a New Zealand guy is kind of the utility extra 16th person. Ananiwa Tate Jones and he’s a guard forward swing and he’s interesting. I watched some tape on him yesterday. There’s only one clip of him on the internet on on YouTube and he posted it himself. It’s kind of sad. Like nobody scouted him or nothing like that, but he’s an interesting player. He’s got a lot he’s a he’s he’s got he’s kind of got a light frame, but he’s got some very interesting skills. Very interesting skills. We’ll have to see how he does in summer league. Jacobe Walter putting on blast the J seconds on his Instagram. Raptors official admin officially resigned. Garrett Temple been getting on there. Also, we got some uh messages from the older players on the Raptors for the rookies on advice. Jonathan Mo saying to the rookies, be yourself and don’t let anyone take away your confidence. Grady Dick saying, “Work hard, play hard, go Raptors.” Jamal Shed saying, “Don’t be afraid to be yourself on and off the court. Your new peers are great people who are excited to work with you. Let’s do it. Jacobe Walter saying, “Come in with confidence and find what you’re good at and really focus on that.” And Jameson Battle saying, “Stay present in the moment and keep working. The work will always show.” There you go. Great advice from the J seconds and Grady Dick on there. Pretty pretty cool stuff. There you go. Yeah, Norman Pal is uh still doing French stuff. He’s doing French interviews with his cool clock shirt and just living that life, understanding that grind, bro. He’s understanding that grind. Let’s see. boy Scotty has got uh this guy who’s talking about working out in the offseason. Scotty’s in that offseason work mode and he said that the summer league team is dangerous. That’s what he’s saying right now. Chris Buchchet is fully in on Love Island. They’re fact-checking AC’s BS. He’s got a Napoleon complex and he’s been lovebombing. So get out of here, Ace on Love Island with your [ __ ] Colin Murray Boils is back in Colia, South Carolina. So, he’s checking in at his crib before is to come before the storm of the summer league. So, yeah, enjoy your downtime, Colin. The the ride is about to start. You’re going to be a Raptor this year, and you’re going to be international NBA player now. So, you need to be ready to drop those small town roots in uh Colombia and go on and get internationally famous on the Toronto Raptors. That’s right. Jonas Vonunis has some weird AI picture of him at they’re going to a summit. He’s at the D B8 Summit 2025. I guess it’s a basketball summit in Lithuania. And he looks like he’s going to be one of the keynote speakers. That’s right. And there’s Kyle getting jacked. Like I was saying, man, this kid is this guy is serious right now. Kyle Lowry looks like he’s trying to go into the WWE or something. Man, the man is actually lifting upper body weights for once. And that’s scary, man. I mean, I guess Lowry’s getting older. He’s got to get every advantage. But the man looks like he’s thick up in his chest and his arms right now. I mean, Kyle Lowry looks dangerous now. He’s boxing, too. He’s putting in that boxing work. There you go. There’s your Instagram stories for today. Yeah, Kyle Lowry, Jamal Sh getting jacked. And our summer league teams are awesome. Yeah, there you go. Boom goes the dynamite. Yeah, let’s see what else y’all are saying. Yeah, Messiah Jerry is going to be on Good Morning America this morning, guys. He may have been on already. I I have not watched it yet. We will see. Uh hopefully, you know, I know he’s talking about Giants of Africa, but who knows what they’re gonna ask him. Seriously, we’re gonna have to see. We’re gonna have to see what’s going on with that. Uh all right, Seymour saying, “Was at the beach yesterday? Felt lot a lot like I was with Trevor Jay in Florida. Alberta was plus 31 yesterday. Hot as f.” That’s awesome, man. That’s awesome. Yeah, it’s been it was really nice week here, too. We’ve had some rain at times, but it’s very nice temperature and it’s very u uh just perfect weather. I don’t mind the heat. I grew up in Tallahassee, so it’s like 100 degree weather don’t do nothing to me. Some people up here fade and melt with it. But not me. I’m I’m hardened to it. I’m hard. I’m cold. I’m cold and hard warmth hardened. That’s right. Just like a plant, you know, you got to be hardy to the cold, hardy to the w uh winter and the summer. This guy’s got both because of both sides. But yeah, that’s awesome. Great weather out in Alberta. Fantastic, man. Uh Seak Seikami Lake. It’s a man-made beach. Okay, that’s where you’re at. Very, very cool. Very, very cool. Yes, Seymour. Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot. All right, Seymour saying, “Who do we see leading the summer league squad?” Maybe Jacobe. This is the kind of question I wanted for today’s summer league. All right, guys. I’ve got my spreadsheet. I would love for y’all to see it. It’s a great guide. So, I’m going to go ahead and put the link in the chat right now, and you guys can go and look at the spreadsheet with me as I go over it so we can uh kind of go over this. So yeah, I think it may be very likely that Jacobe Walter may be the leading scoreer for the the summer league team. But the thing is, I’m going to say this right now, most times in summer league, like last year with Grady Dick, uh the the guys who were kind of already been there and done that, they only play like one game. So, I could see some of the main guys like Jacobe and Jamal coming to summer league and playing in the first summer league game against Chicago and then not playing another summer league game for the rest of the summer league and then them going through the other guys, especially with Jacobe and Jamal because they got a lot of time on the the big squad and they’re pretty sound. So, it could very well be we only see Walter and shed in the first game and they don’t play the rest of summer league. That’s that’s the pattern that we’ve seen in past years like with Oshai and uh Grady. Those guys didn’t play the whole entire summer league last year. Grady played only one game and then he was done for summer league and Oshai I think he played like two games or something like that but then he was done. So, it’s really like the summer league is for discovering guys for possible for training camp, but also for the young players to come around and get the reps and get some uh time with the coaches and also to integrate and help the younger guys like Colin and Elijah uh get their footing and understand what’s going on too. So, in some ways, they’re a little bit like uh mentors, but they’re also kind of just coming in to sharpen their young skills as youngsters, but they’re also not expected to do a whole lot during the summer league. So, I I Jacobe may very well lead the team in scoring against Chicago Bulls on the first summer league game, but he may not play another game after that. That’s what I think that will be what I predict right there. Trevor J say Messiah will be on Good Morning America today. Yeah, this morning Messiah is coming out on Good Morning America. I have no idea what he’s gonna say. I wonder if he’ll even talk about uh leaving the Raptors. Uh it may be more that he’s just going to talk about Giants of Africa and he’s just, you know, it’s very interesting that he did this on uh in book bookends. He did the Kelly Clarkson show interview before he uh parted ways with the Raptors and now he’s going to be doing Good Morning America this morning. Obviously, we’re going to watch it and see what he has to say and I’m sure everybody’s going to want to see what he says, if he has any messages for Raptors Nation because yeah, we want to know. And Messiah, man, it be I know you’re going to have love for us and you’re going to say something amazing to us, but I I don’t know how it’ll happen or what’s going to happen. And I hope he’s not coming on there to announce he’s going to work for the Lakers or anything like that. That’d be crazy. FY saying, “Good morning, fam, and happy Thursday.” Once again, great words of wisdom, Trevor J. Glad Seymour enjoyed the nice weather. Yeah. Yeah, those are nice snakes. Seymour saying, “Jake the Snake versus Macho Man was a classic. Ma made this cobra bite him. I was terrified as a kid.” Yeah, that’s a funny story. That match with Randy Savage and Jake Roberts. Well, the the snake was supposed to be defanged. It wasn’t supposed to be I mean, the poison was out of it, right? Or Macho Man would have died, but they he didn’t expect him to bite him. Like, that was totally off script in some ways. They really were just supposed to hold the snake in front of Ry’s face while he was like tied in the ropes, but the snake lunged and bit him on the shoulder and it like really drew blood and like it was creepy and scary looking. But that wasn’t supposed to happen. And Randy was so scared. Let’s just put it that way. He was so scared he got bit by a cobra in the middle of the ring in front of everybody. He was so scared. And Jake was like, “I didn’t mean that to happen.” Jake’s got a really good podcast these days on YouTube that y’all should wa listen to. He’s so interesting when he talks about what happened back in the day. Like he goes over when the honky tonk man hit him with the guitar and it was not gimmicked and he really knocked him out and gave him a concussion. He actually blames the honky tonk man a lot for his drug problems because when the honky tonk man did that famous snake snake pit where he came out with Jimmy Hart and he hit Jake the snake over the head with the guitar. He didn’t. That was a regular guitar and he hit him solidly and it didn’t break right. And you know how it is in wrestling, you want it to give. Like if it’s a table, you want it to give so it catches your fall. Well, the the guitar didn’t give and it knock it gave him a true concussion and knocked him the hell out. And uh he blames that incident for part of the reason why he’s taken prescription drugs for pain ever since. Like that’s really a turning point in his career where his career went from the peak to the bottom because of Honky Tonk Man. So if you want stories like that, stories like the Jake’s uh u side of the Randy Savage Cobra incident, you got to you got to watch his podcast on on YouTube. And out of all the old wrestlers that have died from that era, who would have thought that Jake the Snake Roberts would be one of the last men standing the way he abused his body throughout the 90s? Holy crap. Yeah, it’s crazy, man. But yeah, Jake the Snake, that was scary when he he got that sniped a bit. Macho Man, looking forward to summer league. Yeah, me too. Feary, it’s a lot of fun. I’m glad we have this distraction. I’m glad we have some basketball coming up once again, man. It’s gonna be awesome. Guardian Transit is here. I love Seymour’s little eye candy uh emoticons. I’m uh Guardian Transit saying, “I’m interested to see what types of improvement our young players show. Also, I’m extremely happy we signed a decent big and and Ma Mamu. Uh let’s let’s also let’s see if Shamshay has improved enough to get some minutes. Yeah, I’ve got the starting five for our summer league as four of the Jay uh seconds and Colin Murray Boils. I would have put all five of our rookies last year as the starters, but I think that Murray Boils is above Mobo on the depth chart. And that’s really because he’s a lottery pick. He’s a ninth pick in the draft. And if it’s like Grady, if it’s like Jacobe, there’s a little bit of a a preference for the a firstrounder, especially because the money is higher for them. So I I already you got to slot in Colin Murray Boils as the starting power forward for the summer league team over Jonathan Moa. I would have had all five of our rookies last year as the starters, Jamal, Jacobe, Jameson, Jonathan, and I think that Murray Boils is above Jonathan in the depth chart. And we’ll have to see how it all plays out. But I could see this happening. So I have starting point guard Jamal Shed, starting shooting guard Jacobe Walter, starting starting small forward uh Jameson Battle, starting power forward Colinary Boils, and starting center Aris Shamsh. Yeah, Shamshay should be starting over Castleton because he’s way more enscconced as a part of our future. Castleton is not on a guaranteed contract right now and Shamshay needs to be starting. So, I’m pretty sure that’s what’s going to happen that we’re going to see Shamshay get starters minutes and play a he’s going to play a lot. Now, the big thing people are noticing about our young Cameroonian is that he’s bulked up that he’s got bigger muscles. And the thing is Shamshay actually got healthy from his injury in the middle of the 905 season uh near the end of the season. So, he’s not hurt. He hasn’t been hurt for a couple months now. and he’s been very actively working with the Raptors, training at OBO Center and training with his other uh rookie class. So, he is totally slated to be playing and healthy that there’s no setbacks and he is totally expected to play for summer league and he has been healthy for a couple months just on the download. Nobody knew that. So, he was actually ready to come back kind of like Brandon at the end of the season, but they were like, “No, let’s not rush him or bring him back and risk him getting injured again right at the very end of the season.” So, there was a very similar situation with Shamshay as to Ingram Ingram. Yeah. Let’s see. Trevor saying, “I’m watching Messiah now right now on Good Morning America promoting Giants of Africa.” That’s fantastic. I’ll watch the clip after the show and uh hopefully you know Messiah’s is looking good and he doesn’t look uh you know I man I just I love that guy and Messiah forever. And yeah, yesterday I called Freedom Mobile and I signed up for their internet. you know, the Canadian government uh wanted to keep monopolies from not happening. So, they ruled that Rogers could not acquire Freedom Mobile and uh from the Shaw merger. So, uh y’all get Freedom Mobile first. You have to get your phone on there though if you want internet. They don’t give you internet if you don’t have a phone contract with them. So, I had a phone contract with them from last year because I got sick of Bell and I said, “Screw Bell. I’m going to Freedom Mobile.” And I got Freedom from Bell and that’s why it’s such a great name. And the great thing about Freedom Mobile is that they’re a company based out of Quebec. They are a Canadian company. So straight goods on Canadian goods. And uh they have a a promise that they will not change their rates over time. So it’s a very affordable company that provides an alternate service from the big telecom corporations in Bell and Rogers, especially Rogers. say, “Fuck you, Rogers.” and get rid of your Rogers accounts today. You could call Bel Mo Freedom Mobile and they don’t have much weights. They’ll be happy to take your business and get you set up with them. But, as I said, if you need to get internet, too, like I’m going to do, you’re going to have to get their phone plan, too. But that’s great if you’re using Rogers or uh Bell for your phone. Trust me, Freedom’s a great company, and you need to go. It’s a great way alternative to get away from those big huge monolithic corpor telecom corporations. So yeah, there you go. Do it today. Do it for Messiah. That’s what I’m saying. When I talked to the person on the phone, I said, you know, I’m doing this for Messiahi. I hope you record this and say, yeah, F. Rogers, I’m coming to y’all because of Messiah Eugi. I made it very clear to them. And the guy’s like, “Yeah, I I’ve heard this a lot.” Is what he said. You know, so this is happening, guys. Some people are saying you can’t do anything. It doesn’t change anything. Well, you’re wrong. It does change things if you do uh try and make your money where your mouth is. So, it does change things. Don’t let people jade you into thinking not having Rogers doesn’t mean nothing. All right. Here we go. We got our first call of the day. Caller, you’re on the Thursday think tank. How are you today?
Hey, hey, hey, hey. Salute, salute after freaks. Salute Lex. How you doing?
I’m good, man. Who Who’s on the air? I have your real name on here. What’s that?
Infamous. Infamous.
It’s infamous. Infamous. Salute. Infamous Raptor Freak. How are you doing, man?
Uh, I’m I could be better. I’m going to be honest. Again, these views are strictly minds, not of the channel, not of Lex. So, I’m just going to let that
force of all go right. I I I I’m I’m going to be on I’m going to be honest. Uh, this whole Messiah firing is really left a bad taste in my mouth. So,
I’ve kind of disten myself away a little bit away from the Raptors to be honest with you.
I less coverage. I haven’t been watching I haven’t been keeping up too much with with the news and everything like that. It’s just a whole it to me to be honest with you it’s like the Raptors will always be in my heart
and you as a longtime fan. Yeah.
You know we’ve been through this. We’ve been through this with Isaiah. We’ve been through this sort of with Butch Carter. So I’ve seen we’ve all seen this before.
Yeah.
And you know the whole thing where it reeks of racism and you know all this other [ __ ]
Sorry. I’m sorry for cursing.
No, that’s fine. This other stuff all this other stuff is really is really left a really bad taste in my mouth.
And then I’m finding out that Rogers is pretty much owning everything now. They become like a basic conglomerate where they own the media rights now. Yeah.
They own the the stadium. They own everything.
Yeah. So it’s it’s just become super corporate. And nothing personal against Bobby Webster, but when Messiah Messiah to me was the heart of the team,
you know, he was the heart and soul of the team. When he spoke, it’s like everything was coming from his heart,
right? you know, and now that I listen to the team and I listen to all the stuff that’s going on with the team, it’s just become so corporate become media mouthpieces. Like everything is just has to be filtered through
uh the corporate organization and everything like that. I I don’t know that just kind of left a bad taste in my mouth just the way he was dismissed because it wasn’t a parting of mutual ways. They fired him.
Yeah.
And we all know why they fired him. They can spin it whatever way they want to spin it, right? But we all know, we we as Raptor fans know what really happened. I know a lot of people are afraid to say it, but we all know what really happened. It was jealousy.
And a guy like Messiah is a guy you don’t fire.
No.
He’s a He’s a He’s a Papovic.
Yeah.
You know, he’s a Pat Riley. You keep these guys in your organization until they want to leave. Yeah.
And even when they do want to leave, you want to still keep them connected to your organization. Yes. Just just for the brain trust,
right? Yeah. No, I completely agree with you. I mean, I know you started that with saying these views, they don’t necessarily are mine, but they are. Actually, a lot of what you just said, I’m totally with you on all of it. I mean, some people are starting to say stuff like I’m starting to realize maybe I was more of a fan of Messiahi than the Toronto Raptors. Like there’s a lot of people that came to the team in the last 13 years and were partly gravitating towards it because of Messiah and the mystique and the aura he brought to our team and respectability and quality and heart and authenticity and that that’s what they were drawn to about the Raptors organization and and and even though he’s not even been gone a week now, people can feel the void and the energy and like you said the feel of the way the team is moving now. It’s more corporate and not as much like heart and authenticity in it. I you can feel it. I know exactly what you’re talking about. Okay. Because every time you listen to the every time you listen to No, and this is no disrespect against Bobby Webster, but
and I understand he’s in a tough situation, but when he when
like when Messiah spoke, he spoke with passion. There was always this belief that everything was going to be all right.
Yeah.
Right. But now, you know, when when when Bobby speaks or when anybody else speaks, you know, they have to filter their words. They have to, you know what I mean? They can’t really speak from the heart.
Yeah.
And maybe that was part of the problem, too. You know, Messiah spoke from the heart. You know, you know, his he had a passion for the team. And you can’t tell me that he wanted to leave because he he he mentioned it over and over again.
Get the second championship.
He wanted to get Exactly. He wanted to get that second championship. Yeah.
And I think after that second championship, he was probably going to walk away. So he he had a love for the city. He had a love for this team that probably will never go away. And he wanted so badly to get that second championship and it just feels like that that rug has just been pulled from underneath him.
There’s been a couple of clues like you just said. He’s like the clue is well he want wanted to be here when we get our second one. Another thing he said in the past was I’ll be here as long as y’all want me to be here. He did say that at one point.
That That is true. That is true. And of course, that’s signaling that he understood the power structure of MLSC was going to change and that the the writing may be on the wall for him a few years back. Like,
it’s tough. It’s just that, you know, these big things take a while to go through. And it’s crazy because the the deal finally went through. Rogers is now the owner just officially like in the last couple days. So, it’s like they he couldn’t wait. He could not wait. He couldn’t let him have his one last year and work the team for one more year. No, he wanted him out as soon as possible. And that’s just vindictive grudge kind of ugly racist kind of energy from Ed Rogers III.
And yeah, but I still I still love the team. I I still love the team. Um, you know, I’ll I’ll be honest with you. I will be supporting I will be looking forward to the tempo.
Yeah,
I really want to see what the tempo is going to do. And I think maybe I’m going to gravitate a little bit more to the tempo. I’m still going to keep connected to the team. Yeah.
But I just feel like the heart the heart is not
it’s tough to be as passionate, you know, because in some ways there was a leader of passion. He’s a passionate man himself.
And he instilled in all kinds of ways in Canadians and Raptors fans around the world
just by the way he was. And in some ways that’s part of the intangibles that Ed Eddie Ed [ __ ] idiot doesn’t understand. That’s the dumbass uh business sense of his. He doesn’t understand when you have somebody so special that instills confidence and passion in other people. It’s a very powerful thing and those kind of leaders are rare and especially in the sports world to be able to be in that ecosystem that the way it is to be somebody like Eugiri is very very one of one and you you don’t find people like him just everywhere. You really don’t.
You don’t. You don’t. We don’t. There’s a gonna be a huge boy that’s gonna be missing from this from this team. And I’m talking from the heart. I mean,
yeah.
The passion the passion that he brought, everything, you know, I salute him. I thank him for everything he’s done. And it’s not just it’s not just about basketball. It’s about the community, you know. Yeah. H um hiring people, diversity within the organization, having making sure to bring in women Champion for women. Yes.
Yeah. Yeah. A champion for women and all these and these other things. Now the the heads are, you know, a whole bunch of old white dudes like
Yeah. You know what I mean?
That’s why we’re gonna have to watch each move that they do Infamous and kind of like sus it out and see what happens. Like uh how are they going to replace in the team president? I don’t see how you can replace him. And then like you know the the you know the other things like is the team going to change like I’ve kind of talked about the last week. Is it going to change like how they operate in certain ways because his influence isn’t around? Will we notice the difference and see where things are are lacking or things are new and they’re kind of weird and odd in ways that we’re like why is this like this and like you know it’ll be very interesting to see this new era because it’s definitely a change. Yeah. This is gonna be the post Messiah era. And I mean, I’m gonna refer to it as that that as that.
And hopefully the post Messiah era can be successful and we can see happiness and good things for the Toronto Raptors. But I sadly in some ways, like we said, we had a trust in things going right when Messiah was around. That trust goes with him. And in some ways, it’s exactly what you’re talking about. It’s like Bobby Webster cannot be his true unfiltered self because in some ways he’s looking over his back and uh and before part of the trust for Messiah being able to trust him was that he could trust Larry. And when he could trust Larry, he could operate and do things. And in some ways, this is this is part of the dysfunction with other NBA teams that happens we don’t even realize is the ownership and the general managers are not totally clicking in weird ways. And they’re also the owners are telling the general manager to do more than you’d actually think. Like I think part of the problem in Milwaukee right now is this is that the owners are trying to kiss Giannis’s ass and do anything to keep on ampto there, but they’re also not realizing they’re totally making the GM just a puppet of theirs and they’re telling them what to do and they’re kind of doing crazy moves. I mean, some of them make sense, but some of them do not. And it’s kind
That’s a great point. That is a great point because when you become a media conglomerate,
everything is filtered through the owners. And we know owners just look at the bottom line and profit.
So when you when you amalgamate everything together where you the the hockey team, everything like that,
the Raptors no longer become a separate entity. It becomes like, okay, what’s the bottom line for the shareholders? Yeah.
You know what I mean? So it’s all about making it’s all about making money now and not really about necessarily making a championship. And Ed Rogers should thank Messiah every single day because the the worth of the Raptors, the way the Raptors uh have skyrocketed in worth is partly due to him.
It’s exactly
when the championship. So you used him to get to get to to increase the value of the franchise and then you’re like, “Oh, we’ve used you enough. Okay, so now we’re going to kick you out the door.” Because the value of the Raptors has a lot to do with Messiah.
Oh yeah. It it coincides with him. It coincides with him. It does. There’s I mean there’s going to be ability for people to do like a presentation saying this is when Messiah came. This is the line graph for the value of the Raptors. And you can see how it went up and then I’ll bet you very much I know this is going to happen that the the line graph’s going to start going down for the first time in 13 years. Now it probably already has. If it’s a stock that we probably could see both Rogers stock has gone down and in and the Toronto Raptor stock has gone down since the Ujiri dismissal last Friday. I bet you money that has already.
No, you’re right. Right. And I I I and I champ and I congratulations to you and I appreciate you championing the team. Like I said, I’m not I’m not gonna stick I’m not gonna stop supporting the team because I love basketball. Number basketball is number one. That’s my first love. Before any girlfriend, anything, basketball has always been my first love. no matter what. And I’m still going to support the team. I’m still going to check in on them. Uh, you know, occasionally team
Your passion is dialed down a little bit. Your passion is dialed down.
Yeah, my passion my passion is is kind of dialed down because there’s so much uncertainty. Yeah.
And I’m not confident in the direction that we’re going, especially with with with with Mr. Mr. uh Canadian Trump.
Mr. Ed Wilbur. Yeah. Yeah. The Canadian version of Trump. The head of ahead of everything. I think I must start calling him Mr. Ed and start doing that Wilbur. He’s the famous Mr. Ed because he’s an ass. He’s not a horse. He’s an ass,
right? Definitely. Like, yeah. So, I I love Teresa Rash and I hope she does amazing things with
with the WNBA team. I I I do follow the the W a lot. I do watch a lot of their games and I love I love I love the sport. Love the women.
You just love basketball. Basketball is basketball. It doesn’t matter if it’s men or women. It’s still the sport.
Absolutely. Absolutely. Love it. Love it. Love it. Yeah. So, I’m not going to hold you up too long. I just want to say thank you. Thank you to all the rappers.
You’re welcome. And thank you, man. You know, I got to uh I think I’m right on my like almost my 1400th stream, guys. I think in like 10 days, I’m going to have like um 10 days or so, I’m going to have 1,400 streams in a row, like very soon. But I appreciate the words, man. I you guys keep me going. It’s been a joy to have this call with you today, Infamous, and hear your views on Messiah Jiri. And I think that a lot of people are finding common feelings as you right now and what you just said.
And one more thing. Yeah, one more thing for Fuego. Uh the rookies. Uh just to touch on the rookies. I’m I’m really looking forward to uh seeing uh uh what’s his name? Uh Kobe uh
which one?
Colin.
Jacobe Walters.
Oh, Jacobe. Yeah, Jacobe. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Jacobe, I’m very interested to see his development. I think he’s one of the guys that I think is going to is really going to stand out
uh next year. I think he’s he’s he has that
superstar written on him. There’s something about him. There’s something about him that I see and I noticed it from last year. Yeah. And I think he’s going to be something special.
It’ll be a real sign like when they do summer league next week. We’ll see if he comes out like a leader this year. you know, last year he comes in as one of the younger guys and it’s really kind of like this is orientation. This is your first taste, but he’s gotten a taste. You want to see what kind of swagger he has after being a rookie already and whether he’s going to come out there and take over the game and do some of what you were just describing that you think he’s got.
And I think that that that we may very well see this right away against Chicago in the first game that Kobe comes right out and he just takes over and he is like scoring like crazy. I could see this. I could see this. Yeah, I can see it. Definitely. And one question, Lex, I don’t know if you know, have we heard anything from from Scotty Barnes about this whole situation? I I I don’t know if you
about the Messiah dismissal. Yeah, because I know Messiah was very fashioned.
I’ll say this right now. I mean, we’re not going to hear anything from current employees. Let’s just put it that way. You got to figure this like if Ed Rogers is that much of an ass, uh, he he may be looking to see who like, you know, it could be like this. if like one of the players or coaches or somebody in the staff said a goodbye speech to or said a goodbye post or something to Messiah and Rogers and his people might notice and that there’s a little bit of a weird thing like you got to worry about retribution for something like that. I know that sounds crazy and messed up and toxic as hell.
Yeah, it does.
But that is probably why nobody in MLSC that’s currently employed did anything in uh messaging about him. And it could very well be that Bobby told everybody, “Don’t do this because we don’t he’s already kind of a dick and we don’t need him to be more of a dick to us.” So I it may very well be privately that all the players and different people have something to say about it, but none of them publicly will do anything on social media or anything. And it’s smart. is smart because in some ways they don’t want to be targeted or any kind of thing weird as somebody who’s like this guy was a Messiah guy and I want to get rid of everything that had to do with Messiah. You know that does that make sense?
Yeah, it’s like they’re trying to erase his legacy to a certain extent.
Well, we don’t know yet. We’ll just have to see. Like like I’ve speculated that some of the specialty nights may go away. Of course, some of the politics that we do around the Raptors may not be in the forefront anymore because he just doesn’t want us to be a woke team. You know, that’s the kind of stuff I think’s going to go first, right? Is like stuff like us having Black Lives Matter on our bus or even like uh doing like a lot of stuff for Pride or different things like that. I could see Ed, you know, although people very also said that with the Blue Jays, they have a Pride night and they have a Caribbean night still, but we’ll have to see what changes. That’s what I’m saying. We just got to see how the changes come and pay attention and keep notes is basically.
Well, good luck. Good luck. And I appreciate you taking my call.
You anytime, man. You’re a joy to take the call from Infamous. And I would say this, uh, you know, I am not going to get mad at anybody for stepping away from the Raptors on any sort of level right now. It is your right. It’s a free world. And I won’t judge you as any less of a fan either because I understand the world’s crazy and we need to hit that grind to make sure that we can, you know, keep having our lives. And in some ways, it’s our spare time that we choose to give to things like the Raptors.
But if the team is a certain way and certain things are happening, I can totally understand why people would not want to be as passionately involved.
I can totally We’re day one. Lex, me and you, you’re we’re day ones, man.
Day ones from the middle of the 90s. Yeah.
Yeah. We we were here from like I went to the first game.
Yeah, there you go. Infamous was at the first game of the Raptors at the Sky Dome. New Jersey Nets Toronto Raptors Alvin Robertson first game points three-point shot. Yeah. And we won that game. That’s right.
Yeah. Damon starter, you know, I’m from the area. There you go. And so we’ve seen it all and in some ways in some ways we understand the bad times and we don’t want to be going to the next one. That’s why I say it
infamous. I can say that we’re we’re we we have a fork in the road ahead of us and in some ways we could go either way. We could continue to go in the legacy of Eugi and a winning successful way or if this man is punitive and petty and a small ego and just an idiot and just a jerk. We could go the other way and he could burn us down on purpose just because despite uh Messiah Jiri. So we’re going to have to see which road we’re going to go down. We’re going to have to
be a treadmill. We don’t want to be a treadmill.
No. And I don’t think we will. Although people on ESPN are already trying to categorize us as a treadmill team, as they quote called us in purgatory, but whatever. That’s [ __ ] Uh because it ain’t like that. And uh we’ll just have to see how it goes. We’ll take it dayto-day. And each each transaction, each uh uh decision and what we see and we proceed. We know what the Raptors were like under Messiah Jiri. We have 13 years of it. We can tell the difference. So we’re gonna have to see what the difference is. Infamous once again, man. Thanks for the call. Thank you again.
A total joy and I hope you call more in the future, too. Let’s go Raptors. But hey,
let’s go Raptors. Raptor. Let’s go Tempo. How about that?
And Tempo. Yes.
That’s right. All right. Have a great day, Infamous. And uh uh have a great weekend, too, man.
You too. You too. Thank you. Bye. Awesome. First call of the day. We got uh Infamous on the line today, guys. Great call. I loved him espousing more deeply on his feelings about the Messiah uh dismissal and uh just being real about it, man. And that’s what we you know what that’s one of the things that we loved about Messiah so much is that he’s authentic. He’s authentically him and you you’re not seeing anything fake about him and he likes, you know, people there like him and the authenticity of the Raptors shown through because of his leadership and well in some ways it’s more a corporate game now and it may be not as authentic going forward. That sucks. That sucks, man. I hate that. Semour saying salute says Messiah. My heart still hurts over the decision. Yeah, it’s tough. This is a tough thing, you know. This is a tough thing and I want to talk about Messiah every single day. you guys want to. There’s never going to be a point where I’m gonna say, “We guys, it’s done and over. I don’t want to talk about him anymore.” No, we’re going to talk about him for perpetuity because I am not letting down on this. And Ed Rogers needs to see his mistake every single day or hear it or hear it from fans or be understanding that he [ __ ] up last Friday and he needs to understand it. And like I said, y’all cancel your Roger accounts and don’t believe what these people are saying. Oh, it won’t do nothing. It’s not going to it’s a drop in a bucket. It’s not going to do nothing. Well, enough drops. It will do something. And power to the people. And once again, economically, we have strength in big numbers with a lot of us. And we need to flex that muscle. Raptors fans, you care about Messiah Jiri. You cut your ties, business ties with Rogers Corporation as much as possible today. I I doing my part. I called Freedom Mobile to get my internet switched to them. And I’m going to be going to them and cutting my Rogers cord for cable and internet as soon as possible. So there you go. There you go. Boom goes a dynamite. Fierce saying hearts to Messiah. Seymour saying, “Lex, yesterday you said Jones should return to Jonas should return to Lithuania instead of playing for Denver. He will be very impactful in a playoff series. Denver’s going to be a problem.” Well, I’m only saying that because once again, I don’t want to be misqued. I did not say he was going to Europe for sure. I just said because Yonas said this like in the summer already. He said, “I might just go back to Europe and play in Lithuania. This feels good.” He said that himself and that’s like but this was before he got traded to Denver. So maybe that changed things. I don’t know. But the way he was talking was I don’t care about $10 million this year to play for the Sacramento Kings because that’s his salary is $10 million he’ll get paid to play for the Kings. But Jonas Valunis has all the money in the world. He doesn’t care. In some ways he may want to get out of the dumpster fires called the United States as soon as possible. And the other thing I was speculating on it, and this is why I think he said this, is because he does want to have a pro career in Lithuania where he has stats and Euro League stuff done there. And maybe he feels like he has a better chance to be a champion over there at this point. And he does he wants to go while he’s still relatively young. So I’d say right now, even though he got traded to Denver this week, there’s a 50-50 chance that Jonas will walk away from the NBA and go just play in in Lithuania league this summer, this year coming up. We’ll have to see. Maybe $10 million is too much and the idea of playing with Nicola Joic is too attractive and he may still stay and go there. The only reason why I said that is because he said it himself that maybe I need to just come to Europe this year. That’s what he said. Uh Guardian Transits here. Raptors baby summer league. That’s right. They’re babies. Little babies. The youngest player on the Raptor summer league team is still Shamshay, guys. He’s younger than Colin Murray Boils. They’re the two youngest. And then the ne next youngest I believe is um uh who is the next youngest? I forget who it was but it’s like it’s uh it’s a Shamsh is the young Oh, Jacobe is the third youngest. It’s Aris Shamshay is the youngest still because he was so young when he came to us last year and then Colin Murray Boils and then Jacobe Walter. Those are the three youngest players on our summer league team this year. Just so you guys know, there’s my spreadsheet uh link you guys. Let’s go look at it real quick. Jamal Shed, starting point guard. Point guard a 1A. Jamal Shed of Houston, 6 foot, 198 pounds. It’s going to be great to see Jamal out there leading the team. He’s obviously the the incumbent backup point guard for the Raptors on the main squad. And uh he didn’t really have to play on 905 a whole lot. This is really a tuneup for summer league for Jamal to come out there. I would love to see him play the first game with Jacobe 2, but both of them may not play another game after that. I’m telling you. But he needs to come out, show his floor general skills, throw his show his added muscle. I was just pointing out on the Instagram stories and uh show his headiness and just I want to see a really high astute uh uh uh player that is running the team in a very very uh uh top level way from the NBA and not looking like a summer league player or a G-League player. That’s what I want to see. That is my uh assignment for you Jamal Shed. come out there and look like a quality of play above summer league and G-League that you are a true bonafide backup point guard in the NBA, then that style of confidence and level of play is going to be shown by you. That’s right. His backups, of course, our rookie Elijah Martin, who’s really kind of more of a a shooting guard, guys, than a point guard. He really is a scorer more than a passer. Now, Elijah is interesting. He’s going to wear that 55, guys, which is kind of interesting. 55 is going to be the number worn by Florida’s Elijah Martin for the Raptors this year. Who is wearing 55 before? Dylon Wright. I believe he wore 55 for a little while there. So, yeah, it’s a weird number for him to wear, but it’s kind of cool. And then, uh, Jarkel Joiner of the Skyhawks from last year will be the third point guard on the roster. And once again, he’s not really a point guard. So, we’ve got really one point guard on our roster. And in some ways, we could possibly see people like Jonathan Mobo uh be running point guard as backup for this team in certain ways. And Jacobe, too. We can see Jacobe maybe being more of a point guard. Like if they have Jacobe and Elijah Martin out on the court at the same time, Jacobe may be the ball handler and uh Elijah might be off ball. Just so you guys know, at the shooting guard, of course, Jacobe Walter should be the leader of this summer league team. He should be the leading scorer. He should be one of the best scorers. And we look forward to seeing Jacobe with the bulked up body, also the short hair because he chopped all of his hair off at the at the end of the season. And uh now he’s look short hair second year uh Jacobe Walter make his debut in the summer league next week. I’m expecting big things. The two-way Chucky Heburn is the second uh in my depth chart as shooting guard. The kid out of Louisville was seen recently with uh former Raptor Jordan War because both of them are Louisville Carter Cardinals and Chucky is friends with Jordan and that’s great. Buffalo’s Jordan War is a lifetime Raptors fan and also a former Raptor and I’m sure in some ways he could very much help uh Chucky understand where he’s coming to here in Toronto being on the Raptors now and help him with any kind of questions. I’m sure if Chucky has any questions, he can ask Shelby or anybody around the Raptors like AJ Lawson, but he could also call Jordan Wara if he wanted to to get some answers question uh answers from questions uh from him. So Chucky will be the backup shooting guard on my depth chart. Of course, Chucky is the ACC defensive player of the year. He’s more of a a defensive player than a offensive player. So we’re going to see some very interesting defense from him. The third uh shooting guard is from the Raptors 905 last year is a player that played in Belgium the year before that. That’s Tyreek Key. I’m very pleased to see Tyreek Key on the summer league roster. His year on 905 last year was tumultuous. It wasn’t the best. Let’s just put it that way. At the beginning of the year, he was lights out and shooting like crazy. And he was really on that level like Grady Dick and Jameson Battle with the threes. We were putting him in the same category as Battle and Dick as a three-point specialist. but he cooled off in the middle of the season last year in G-League and he didn’t really do very well for most of the rest of the season. There was a couple of blips of one or two good games at the end of the season, but I’m shocked to see that Tyreek has been invited to the summer league for the Raptors and I’m intrigued to see if he’s going to have a spot on 905 again once again this year. He’s a very competent three-point shooter when his shots going in and that’s why he’s great to have around. So, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Tyreek at summer league. And I’m I’m very pleasantly surprised to see one of our 905 players from last year on the summer league roster. The small forward position is the guy who worked the hardest for the Raptors and the 905 last year. He had the most minutes on the court for both teams was Jame Battle. Battle didn’t miss a whole lot of time this past year and he did a lot of double duty between 905 and the Raptors and he became very steady. Now, he’s on a a non-G guaranteed contract for the season, but Blake Murphy is saying he’s pretty much penciling him in as making the team in the roster, and I think that makes sense. The the promise of what Jameson Battle is for as far as the sharpshooter and the steadiness with his three-point shooting, it’s just too valuable. They would be dumb to cut him in training camp. Uh and then all of a sudden, we see Jameson just blowing up on another team. So, I’m pretty sure that Jameson Battle, even though he’s non-G guaranteed, his contract will be guaranteed in about a week from now and he will be guaranteed and he’ll be on the roster this year. So, Jameson, I’m looking forward to you expanding your game and some ways we know you got the three-point shooting. You started to make some real strides in your strength and your size along with your defense at the end of the season and well, we want to see how you built on that in the time since coming into summer league. So, yeah, Jameson Battle is my number one shooting small forward and uh he’s but AJ Lawson’s right on his heels. AJ Lawson could easily be starting in this spot. Uh like I said, I’m uh with Rhoden getting cut from the two-way. This allows a lot more of a chance for AJ Lawson to possibly make the Raptors, but he is in trouble. He could easily be one of the last cuts in training camp, our hometown hero from Bmpton. So, I’m rooting for you, AJ. Take this summer league very serious, man. Show your three years experience in the NBA. show that you are a player that the Raptors cannot go forward without and uh we need you as a Steeler, as a very high-paced player, as a very quick player up and down the court, and a very adept scorer when you’re locked in. I would say this, AJ, this is my biggest uh uh advice for you for summer league. Don’t necessarily go volume. We know you can. If you go volume, you’ll look bad. So, what I would say to you is focus on the easy baskets that you know you’ll make for sure. If you shoot too much and you miss a lot, you’re not going to make the Raptors. What you need to do is focus on stealing the ball from the other team that you’re so good at and getting rebounds and looking for other teammates and stuff like that. We know you can score. We’re not worried about you being a scoreer and get up down the court and dunk it and shoot threes. In fact, you not shooting or not trying to score so much may make you look better in summer league. So, go all around in summer league. Don’t necessarily look to score like crazy because you have the danger of going high volume and uh low quality and then the Raptors will cut you in training camp. Trust me. So seriously, listen to me AJ. I want you on this team and you need to go allaround game at summer league. You cannot try and be the scorer, okay? Because you’ll be in danger of going six for 30 and Bobby Webster will say, “Nah, I’m sorry AJ Lawson. You can’t be on the Raptors this year.” The third shoot small forward is Quincy Gerriier of Montreal. another 905 player showing up on the summer league roster. Quincy has been uh on the Montreal Alliance this summer playing for them in the CBL. Of course, he’s 905 guy last year. And uh Andrew Jones, really proud of him and Tyreek. And well, these are the two 905 guys on our summer league roster. Quincy, of course, is a solid forward. He can play a little bit of power forward or small forward and uh you know, he’s just good around the basket and he’s a decent player. Plus, he’s Canadian content. So, I always wish well Quincy Gary and uh yeah, we’ll have to see if he’s on another exhibit 10 and he’s got a path to be on the 905 once again this year. It’d be kind of cool if he’s a regular Montreal Alliance Raptor 905 alternating is for his year. Quincy Gary. Yeah, the uh the wild card player is from New Zealand and his name is Annie Wana Waniwa Tate Jones. He’s a 6 foot6 guard forward from New Zealand. uh went to the uh University College of San Diego and uh he’s a he’s a very like uh uh swing kind of player. He really is a a d uh a driver and kind of he does shoot too. He’s a he’s a very basic like swing like he’s a guard forward. He can play shooting guard or small forward and he’s kind of like he’s he’s he’s skinny and he’s weak. He’s not very strong, but he has some slashing ability and he does have some uh good basketball IQ. I’ll say that, too. And but yeah, he’s an he’s a kind of the odd wild card of the summer league team. And he could very well be one of the guys who never gets to play hardly. He may sit at the end of the bench most of summer league and he may get an appearance in one of the last games that uh we play at summer league. He may not play a whole lot. Let’s just put it that way. Colin Murray Boils is a power forward starter in my book. He’s going to wear a number 12, which is an interesting number. South Carolina Gamecooxs. Uh, explosive player, very, very defensive. Has some very nice stuff around the basket. I’ll be just curious to get the first look at him. In some ways, I don’t have a whole lot of expectations for Murray Boils. I just want to see him play his game and and get uh introduced to us. And well, let’s just be pleasantly surprised. No expectations. Let’s see what you can do, Colin. And let’s get out there in summer league. Now, will it be interesting to see if he plays all the summer league games, he should because he hasn’t he’s got to get as much time before, but if he does a similar thing to Jacobe and Jamal where he plays only like one or two games and then he rests the rest of them, I won’t totally agree with that. I think y’all should put him through the paces and get him out there for every single game of summer league because this is his first chance in there. Jonathan Mo is the second power forward. We know all about Jonathan. Best friend of Scott. uh great versatile big man who uh can play a little bit of small ball center, but he’s also uh also a ball handler, can bring the ball up the court. In fact, we may see Jonathan used as the backup point guard behind shed in summer league, guys. Just watch. Seriously, watch for this. It may be him or Jacobe. I’m just saying those guys in some ways are better point guards than the backup point guards behind shed. Jacobe and Jonathan. So, we’ll have to see how that goes. Of course, Jonathan’s uh just a very exuberant, passionate uh positive person who’s in some ways just really really happy and uh gratitude of his life and the things that are happening to him and the blessings, you know, in some ways he’s just really really happy to be in the NBA. And uh you know, Jonathan, that attitude and the way you’re doing things is going to keep you around, man. So, keep doing it. You know, in some ways it’s not totally uh great that uh in personally for you that Murray Boils has showed up. I know, but in some ways you’re gonna make the best of it and you do have that ace up the sleeve that you are best friends with Scotty Barnes and you grew up and watched cartoons with him in pajamas. So, we’ll just have to see how that all goes. Tyson Denhart is the third string power forward from Boise State. As I said earlier, he’s a a bulky power forward at 68 that can shoot threes. That’s really his primary weapon is he’s a three-point specialist. So, we’re gonna see Tyson taking the threes. Now, he’s a weird player. I went and did research on him and he has a podcast. So, he does a show just like I do right here where he talks to people on a microphone and uh he he’s kind of goofy guy, but yeah, it’ll be interesting to see Tyson play. He’s one of the older players on our summer league team also, just so you guys know. uh Asham Shay number one center, Castleton number two center, and then Clifford Omar Roy as the third center out of Nigeria. Uh he went to Alabama. So it seems like the Raptors are really taking an SEC kind of bent to their roster in summer league. We got South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama represented on our south summer league team. It’s like we’re going away from ACC players more to SEC players in the in the most recent developments. Very very interesting to me. I pay attention to that kind of stuff. Yeah, Fiercy saying, “Fun video on the Raptors YouTube channel highlighting Matt Develin calling out Canadian cities. He mentioned Ottawa and Wakefield, which are in my neck of the woods.” Yeah, that’s a cool clip. And Matt Develin posted it himself again. Of course, that’s a a trademark of Matt Delin calling out the Canadian cities during the game. We love seeing that kind of energy from him. Yeah. Yeah. Let’s see what else you guys are saying here. Uh Smooth saying, “Messiah had some nice comments about Toronto. He thanked the Raptors for a wonderful 12 years and said, “All great things come to an end.” Man, he’s just class all around. It’s not like he was going to get on there and be toxic. It’s not like he was going to get on there and just cuss out Ed Rogers like I will for him on here. [ __ ] you, Ed Rogers. [ __ ] you, Keith Belly. And uh but you know, he’s class act and in some ways he wants to focus on the positive stuff. He wants to focus on creating and building with Giants of Africa and not the destruction of that oligarch piece of [ __ ] Ed Rogers III that just happened last Friday. So yeah, class all around and only good things to say, man. Messiah is awesome. Messiah is awesome. And he didn’t tip his cap on anything like about this. You know why? Because sometimes when you tell the story of the your sorrow, you have to live it again. He’s above that. He’s beyond it. And he’s a he’s going forward and that’s what matters right there. That’s right. Paul B is here. Good to see Paul B, a producer for this channel. Paul B, I sent you a message yesterday. Uh get back to me and let me know what’s up with that. I love you, Paul. Thank you for all the things you do to help me out. uh uh uh from Wisconsin, my guy, he’s saying Shamshay is gonna have a six block game during summer league. Oh yeah. Yeah, I could see this. I could see him having a six block game. Hell, why not get a double digit block game? What if he has a 10 block game? I’ll up your six to 10. What if Shamshay has a 10 block game, y’all? I’m gonna say this. Maybe he will. I’m gonna go for 10. I’ll give the over on that. You say six. I want the over. Can I have the over, Paul? He may not get to 10, but if he gets seven, am I right? How about that? Let’s go. Paul B, good to see you. Rap the freak, Paul B. Trevor saying, “Yes, he did.” Smooth. Very nice interview. I feel so sad watching him. Well, did he seem powerful and strong and not like depressed? Did he seem like he’s he’s he’s okay and he’s gonna move forward and everything’s going to be all right. Well, that’s what we care about in some ways. You know, in some ways the Raptors don’t deserve him. If the Ed Rogers the third is going to be a piece of [ __ ] he’s going to own the team. In some ways, we’re he’s better than us. And sadly, that’s the truth. That’s the truth right there. Yeah, Kriskcom’s here. Good to see the great Chriscom, one of our great prognosticators of this channel, coming up with uh predictions all the time. It’s looking like the Spurs versus Raptors in the summer league finals. Oo, okay. Prediction there. I like I’m still feeling away about Messiah, but this team has his fingerprints all over it. So, let’s see how it goes. Yeah. And hopefully, you know, like they took apart our Raptors championship team that that doesn’t take it takes a long long time for them to do anything if they’re going to dismantle the legacy of Messiah Jiri on this team. I hope they don’t. I hope they don’t try to. I hope that they are jerks and they kind of just like try and use his stuff after him and keeps him around in some spiritual ways. But who knows how punitive and petty uh Ed Rogers is. He could be very petty. We’ll have to see. But Chris, I like your prediction about the finals for the summer league. Spurs have an interesting team. That’s for sure. Yeah, Carter Bryant’s a very interesting player. And uh they did kind of luck out getting him where they did in the draft. They really did. Yeah, Carter Bryant apparently had dreams of playing for the Spurs. And well, he’s playing for the Spurs now. He said he went into breakfast the other morning at the Spurs facility and there was Manu, Ginobi, Tim Duncan, and Greg Papovich. And he was like, “Am I dreaming? Pinch me.” Is what he said. These are my childhood idols and now I’m in a room with them and I work with them. That’s crazy. That’s got to be some sort of dream in some ways. That’s what we’re talking about. Ed Rogers, you idiot. There could be kids in Canada that want to pinch themselves because they’re in a room with Messiah Jiri someday and working for him just like Greg Papapovich in San Antonio. You just don’t get that. Ed Rogers, you idiot. You just don’t get that. Fiery saying, “I will watch Messiah’s interview later. I’m happy he keeps it moving and promoting an an initiative close to his heart. It’s also a great tell he was on Good Morning America. His agent team have good connections. Well, he’s a name and in some ways he wants to keep his brand and his persona up despite not being uh connected to the Raptors anymore. So, yeah, Messiah’s going to be uh successful no matter what. Successful no matter what. And uh we love you, Messiah. And I’m so happy you went on Good Morning America this morning. I will watch it for sure. Fiercy saying, “I will look up Freedom Mobile. My satisfaction level with Bell is meh.” Yeah, Freedom’s great. And the great thing is, uh, Fierce, they’re based in Quebec, so you would be getting a more local business in your province. Freedom Mobile has been carved out as a protected company by the government of Canada because monopolies need to be busted up and people need choice and it can’t just be Rogers is the only show in town. So, I wish they do that with the sports that they should be busting up the monopoly, but I guess they could argue that the WNBA is not in their uh umbrella. So, there you go. That may be really going to help Teresa and the Tempo is the the disgusting hate the hate and the disgust for Ed Rogers III may drive a lot of people like Infamous and myself to Tempo and Tempo may get a whole huge boost in this weird way. Ed Rogers being such a douche, not wanting the WNBA team involved. Uh, you know, it may be his big fa failing because it’s the alternate and he didn’t want anything to do with it and he’s actually pushing business to it. What an idiot. What an idiot. Yeah, let’s keep going. Let’s go. Yeah. Hi to Infamous. I like that. Uh, Smooth saying, “Freedom Mobile is a Rogers reseller, Lex. They use the Rogers network.” Yeah, they use the network, but they’re not uh they’re not technically under their corporate umbrella. I did some extensive research on this last night to make sure they the infrastructure has to be utilized by everybody just so you know, but they’re a separate company. There was problems with possibly being a merger uh where they would be absolved because Shaw got bought by Rogers, but the government really fought against the monopoly that was forming and they didn’t allow it and they they made them sell it to Videotron and to uh Quebec Corp. So, it’s actually not owned by Rogers, but they do have to use their infrastructure for the fiber the cable, but that’s true for everybody. It’s the same thing for techsavvy. Now, you can say that they’re subsidiaries of it. Well, they have to pay a certain amount to Rogers probably to use their network, but you’re not technically with Rogers. Just so you know, that’s the that’s the distinction. Uh Randov saying, “Blessings, Raptor Freaks, family. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, the rulers of darkness in this world, spiritual hosts of wickedness. Yeah. Oh yeah. Good and bad is really easily delineated when the evil is so evil and like building something like uh alligator Ashawitz. This is crazy. They built a structure in like eight days down in the Everglades on sacred indigenous land that didn’t need to be messed with first of all. And they’re going to basically they’re joking about people getting eaten by alligators. Yeah, we’ve gotten to this dystopian point where uh idiot uh uh GOP lawmakers in the United States are making memes of alligators with ice hats on them and saying, “Yeah, all this stuff that’s so inhumane, so dystopian, and so detached from human uh goodness and spirit of of of Christ and uh you know, holiness. This is absolutely antichrist. And these idiots are proudly showing their evil on display and they are antichrist. It’s just the truth. Blessings to the Phillips family, all the rapper Freaks families out there. That’s right. Smooth saying in this market it’s either Bell or Rogers. Unfortunately, the three the three Rs party providers are either Bell or Rogers networks. Well, like I said, Smooth, don’t tell me this kind of stuff just to make me sad. I’ve looked in the research and that the government made very clear that they that Freedom Mobile is separate and if you spend your money with them, it’s not going to Ed Rogers. It indirectly they have to pay to use the system. So, Reggie, uh I looked at this very extensively last night because I wanted to make sure I had the facts right. Now, the merger tried to go through a couple years ago, but it was blocked and in some ways the deal was made out so that Rogers could not absorb Freedom Mobile. And Freedom Mobile is owned by Videotron and Videotron is owned by Quebec Core. So that that’s the facts right there. They may have to use the infrastructure, but don’t get it twisted. That doesn’t mean you’re paying to Rogers. Just so you know, there’s a difference. Wayne saying, “Morning rap freaks.” Well said, Infamous. Totally concur. There you go. I like that. I like that. Fiercy saying, “I agree with Infamous. Lots of filtering going on now. I’m afraid there will be a lack of authenticity towards the fans, players, and media walking on eggshells.” Well, we don’t want that. There’s always a certain level of that kind of stuff happening all the time anyway and in some ways it’s a little bit different. You know, we’ll just have to see how the field changes, guys. Take it day by day. And pay attention to everything is what I say right here. Uh Smooth saying, “Virgin Mobile and Chatter are third parties that use Bell if you don’t want to use them directly. Bell directly. Although I’ve heard good things about Freedom. Their customer service is great.” Yeah, they’re fantastic. And and Reggie, you may be right about the infrastructure, but I’m telling you, they’re not the same company. I’m telling you right now. Seymour saying, “Good points in the call-in from Infamous.” Yeah, very quality call. You guys could be the next call if you want to call in to the Thursday think tank call-in. The number line is open. If you have access to the number, you can call the show. Chris come saying, “I was about to call but side talking uh right now. Just asked to covered it.” Just uh you didn’t get rid of Messiah. Such an empty feeling. I’m not totally sure what you say. I was about to call but sidealking right now. Just asked covered it all. You didn’t get rid of Messiah. Such an empty feeling. Yeah, I mean, I’m totally I kind of understand what you’re saying. Trevor Jay bringing up that the Knicks have hired Mike Brown to be the next coach of the Nickerbachers. And uh I thought that this was high chance that he kind of is the name that’s out there that’s the most attractive out of all the the free agent uh coaches right now. And uh well, I don’t see this being successful still. Mike Brown is an interesting coach. He’s been in a lot of different places. In some ways, he’s been through the rigomearroll. He is a veteran. He has been through a lot of seriously weird, toxic kind of coaching situations. So, he should be fairly adept in the situation with New York. But, it’s still going to go south in all kinds of crazy. And the reason why is because it’s a personality thing. And in some ways, the personalities of the Knicks, I hope they work with the personality of Mike Brown, but I’m I’m not I’m going to guess that they won’t. and uh prove and I’m going to believe that they won’t have things gel exactly right. Like Mike Brown is not necessarily going to get along with certain New York Knick players. I won’t name them individually right now, but I have some in mind. Let’s just put it that way. So, well, let’s just see how it goes. Mike Brown is the name the Knicks will have as a coach. He’s not going to be better than Tibido. I’m gonna tell you that right now. He will not be better than Tibido. Yeah. Seymour saying, “Luca gonna hate playing with Aton. Laugh out loud. Lakers fans are stoked for getting the dominator. He only dominates in the losing column. Yeah, this is a loser move uh in some ways. D DeAndre Aiden’s washed. DeAndre Aton is exposed. DeAndre Aton even more exposed by Portland saying that the man didn’t show up for practice. The man was a cancer on our team. He did not cause really good things. He was a problem. He was the same thing in Phoenix. So why the hell would he be any different in Los Angeles? It’s not going to be. So it’s just like the Lakers latest uh bad move that everybody thinks is going to be so great. Yeah, you’re gonna see it. And then we’re it’s gonna be manifest in a weird way with LeBron and Luca there. You know, I want to see LeBron get mad at DeAndre at some point this season. That’s probably what’s going to happen, guys. I can say this right now. It could very well be LeBron James who can be a loafer and a lazy guy himself. Maybe like, you’re on a whole other level of loafing and dysfunction and I hate you and I’m like so mad that the Lakers even got you. I think that’s the end of what’s going to happen with this. Seriously, that’s really what’s going to happen with this DeAndre Aton acquisition here. Fly saying, “Just looked at the summer league roster. I’m very hyped. Few names I’ve never heard about, but overall solid lineup.” Yeah, I mean, like I said, there’s 10 guys that we know that were on the Raptors. There’s six guys that have not been on the Raptors yet, and that’s our rookies. Elijah Martin, uh Chucky Heburn, and Colin Murray Bole, and Clifford Omarui. But then you got uh Jarkeel Joiner from the Skyhawks and uh that and the New Zealand guy and Tyson Deenheart, but that’s it. Everybody else played in a Raptors jersey either for the main Raptors or for the 905. Every there’s 10 guys that have worn Raptors jerseys and understand Darko system, understand what we’re doing. So, there’s going to be a lot of continuity. This won’t be necessarily a rookie uh or a summer league team that’s clueless and kind of doesn’t have a direction. know this is a team that’s going to know what they’re doing because 10 of them have played for the Raptors and understand Darko’s system and we could very well see a very polished at especially when the guys for rookies last year are on the court when we see Jameson Jacobe and Jamal and Jonathan out there we’re going to see guys that really have a lot of time doing the things the Raptors like to do and that that’ll show some polish a little bit more polish than the average summer league team as far as like how well they play together and also So, how adept and not looking like uh totally green off the just off the fresh fresh into the league kind of stuff, you know, that kind of stuff. Yeah, Cool Cat’s here. Good morning, Rat Free Crew. Excited for summer league. Good morning to you, coach. Yeah, it’s coming soon next week. And yeah, we’re gonna be doing the previews and reactions for all the summer league games in the morning of and the morning after. That’s right. That’s right. FY saying Jacobe was injured last year. Yeah, he he got Well, he didn’t totally get injured. He got injured in the in the preeason and not not really in uh I mean I think he kind of hurt his shoulder for a second in summer league but he only played like one or two games in summer league last year. He didn’t play the whole summer league schedule and I think you’re right he did get kind of hurt. That’s right. Um Cool Cat saying Messiah will be on Good Morning America. Yep. Yep. Yep. We covered that already. They actually watched it and they talked about it uh a little bit. Uh let’s see. Fiercely saying, “Messiah did so much for the Raptors. Ain’t no way no goodbye post or retribute is out from the current staff. Anyone with critical analytical thinking can see through the BS.” Look, the the thank you from Messiah came from NAV. The thank you from Messiah came from the franchise with a big just a Messiah picture and thanks on it. That’s what he gets. In some ways, he’ll write a nice letter to Toronto, maybe like Nick did. I don’t know. We’ll have to see how it goes. Either way, Messiah didn’t do nothing wrong and we love them. And that’s what’s going on right here. That’s right. 95 Originals, New Jersey, Toronto, Skydome. That’s right, baby. That’s right. Fiercely saying they’re being cautious because at the end of the day, it’s a business and got to get paid. Shaking my head. And by the way, I’m not blaming the players. Well, that what what they they don’t need to step in it if they don’t need to. So, it’s like it could very easily be this. Bobby said, “Guys, nobody posts anything about Messiah. Just trust me.” You know, he may be they maybe got directives. Some of them may have wanted to, but it could very well be that Bobby Webster, who’s smart, very, very much a genius, told Scotty and all the rest of the guys, “Don’t post anything about Messiah’s dismissal. Just trust me. Do not do it.” Some of them may have wanted to. Let’s just put it that way. Let’s just put it that way. Isaac’s got me on blast. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. Seymour is saying this now. He’s saying, “Uh, if I was in Sacramento, I would want out, too. But Denver makes my hands rub. Very lucrative opportunity in Denver. Go get it, Yonas. You deserve it.” Well, that may actually be the factor. It could very well be. He was saying, “Yeah, I might go to Lithuania because I’m in Sacramento and I don’t think Demar is gonna be here anymore.” And he’s leaving and in some ways Demodus, I love playing with you for a little while. I love you, man. You’re my guy. But I’m I’m kind of sick of this and I want to go, but no, you’re on Denver. Will you go to Denver, Yonas? Oh, wait. Yeah, maybe I’ll go there. I don’t know. We’ll have to see. We’ll have to see. Amit Gaming’s here. Good morning, everyone. Good morning to you, Amit. He’s uh Canada side, which is great. hoping Amo can play the backup center next year. If he can’t move into a full-time center, he will become redundant. Well, in some ways, I get what you’re saying because in some ways the depth chart right now in his position is Scotty, Colin Murray Boils and him and uh in some ways he got demoted because he really was the backup for Scotty last year. And in some ways, Colin’s going to be in that spot now. And uh well it will really be kind of like uh Mobo needs to lean into his jackof alltrades kind of uh frame in his abilities as far as I can be a backup center for you sometimes Darko I can be a backup uh ball handler for you at times I can do a lot of different versatile things and that’s valuable in itself. So the thing with Jonathan is he needs to continue to progress himself and not look at what other guys are doing. He has to continue to work very hard for himself and he the work will show like he said and you will get what good things happening to him. So he’s got the right head on his shoulders, the right attitude and in some ways these guys aren’t shrinking from added competition this year. They’re saying bring it and let’s let the best of us get the minutes and the time on the Raptors roster and rotation this year because listen Grady and Oshai, they’re in a similar position. There’s everybody’s gonna be fighting for time. Jacobe, everybody, because it’s competitive and Brandon Ingram’s healthy, let’s just put it that way. So, there’s going to be a lot more uh quality time played by the starters and the the bench is not going to get as much time this year in some ways, partly because the starters will be healthy hopefully. That’s what I’m saying. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Blackhawk saying actually having CMB is going to be great for depth. CMB backup Scotty and Mo can back up or RJ. Yeah. I mean, it’s really how Darko wants to do it. I mean, we’ll have to see. Mobo may actually be more of a backup center in some ways this year. Yeah, he he was already that last year. Let’s get not get it twisted. He was a backup center last year, too. Uh Mo’s here. Good to see Superfan Mo, the birthday twin of Colin Murray Boils. Good morning, Rapree crew. Happy with the summer league roster. Let’s go. Uh it’s uh super fan approved. Check the summer league roster and it is checked by Superfan Mo. That’s right. That’s right. I love it. I love it. She is giving it the thumbs up. That’s right. Let’s see. Uh Fiery saying, “Lex, I see what you did with the title call-in.” Yeah, I might do this every once in a while if Murray Boils is in char involved. It maybe the call-in show. The call-in show. That’s right. Very bad pun dad joke kind of stuff. That’s right. Mo saying, “Hey, Lex, I’ll post the link when I get it. Messiah and Good Morning America.” Okay. Thank you. Yeah, because I obviously it already happened. The link will go up and Yeah, you guys are awesome. It’s like you guys are so good. you. It’s like you have a big huge net and you’re catching everything with it, Mo’Nique. You’re like a a news catcher. You’re just catching it like butterflies out in the field. Catching the butterflies. It’s the Raptors news. Mo’Nique is out there getting it. That’s right. I appreciate that. I really do. And thank you for finding that James Wade interview that I was asking for. It was with Kennesaw Estate uh people and it was back at his old alma mo and it was very fresh. It just came out in the last couple days and it was about the backstory of James Wade. He really wasn’t supposed to be on the Raptors, guys. He really wasn’t. And a chance call of calling Messiah and asking him for advice on running the Chicago Sky as the GM led to him getting hired by the Raptors. And that was around when they had the WNBA game here in Toronto. Chicago Sky versus Minnesota Links. And James Wade was there as one of the coaches for the Chicago Sky. I think he was the coach. And Messiah kind of pulled him aside. You say, “Hey, you called me a couple years ago and you asked me for advice on being a GM in the WNBA.” And I was really impressed with you asking me those questions. Would you like to work for the Raptors? And James Ways was like blindsided by like, “Holy crap, you want me to come up from the WNBA to the NBA and work for the Raptors?” And he said, “Yeah.” He had never known Darko from before then. He didn’t know anything about the Raptors. And he came kind of blindly just because Messiah had a whim to hire him. So, it’s kind of cool. James Wade will be the summer league coach for our Raptors this summer and uh it’s going to be great. He’s he has experience being a coach in the WNBA and uh you know different coaches have done our summer league. It was like Pat Delaney did it like one year Jamba’s done it I think. So yeah, this year it’s uh Coco’s turn and we’ll see James Wade running this team. And thank you for posting that interview Mon’nique and finding it. She’s gonna find it. If it’s out there Mo’s going to find it. I know that. Yeah. FY saying Lakers carving out a defensive menace with LeBron, Luca, and Dominating. My god, goodness, the delusion. Laugh out loud. Yeah, they’re No. No. This team is uh impostor. This team is impostor. This team is imposter. These guys, all three of them are lazy in their own ways. Seriously, all three of those guys have big L’s next to their names. They’re lazy. LeBron, Luca, and DeAndre lazy in certain ways around them. I’m telling you, Chrisson, I was going to call in, but the guy you were talking to covered it. You just don’t get rid of Messiah. He’s got to be there for life. My bad on the spelling error as I was driving. It’s all good, man. Don’t text and drive. Chrisum, you can call in still. We can talk about any com uh you want to talk about why you think the Spurs and the Raptors are going to be in the finals of the summer league. I would love for you to call Chris if you have if you can get to the phone number. That’s right. Yeah. Smooth saying Chris Hayes called DeAndre Aton a building block. Wow. That’s not right. That’s not right. That is a false advertising. The guy has the talent but totally gone upstairs. He’s not. He’s a false fool’s goal. I’m going to say there’s these really talented guys that everybody thinks they’re going to help them but they’re fool’s gold. They’re going to help them. Nope. They ain’t going to help them. And DeAndre Aiden in some ways is like Kevin Durant like that. So it’s like Kevin Durant may be more reliable than DeAndre Aton. Let’s just put it that way. And we’ll see. Kevin, this is your last chance here in Houston this year. Will you be reliable and be able to get back to being the old Kevin? This is your last chance in my eyes. If you can’t do it in this situation with MA and Fred and the Houston Rockets, you can’t do it anywhere is what I’m gonna say right now. And in some ways, I have more confidence in Kevin Durant turning around his career with the Houston Rockets than DeAndre Aton with the Lakers. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I got way more confidence in that situation in Rockets. I’m actually starting to grow on uh seeing that the Rockets are going to be really good, Reggie. Just so you know, I know I was a little bit of a negative Nancy about it, but the more I think about it, this may be the opportunity that KD needs to actually get his game back. Seriously. And like you said, there’s a lot less pressure on him on that team with the different talent around him in certain ways. So, Shir Khan’s here. Good to see Shir Khan, former Raptor Freak Rookie of the Year. Good morning, Raptor Freak family. I like Martin getting Westbrook and Lowry vibes. His huge potential for sure. Walking highlight reel. That’s the thing, man. In some ways, I’m worried Martin is too much sizzle and not enough stake in his game to be a true NBA player. I I’ve said this already a couple times. Elijah Martin could beat Matt McClung in the NBA dunk competition. I’m gonna say this right now, guys. Y’all are going to see Elijah Martin do some things this year and you’re gonna be like, “Holy crap.” And I hope he does do the dunk competition because I’m gonna tell you right now, Elijah Martin, if you go and do the dunk competition, you will make a name for yourself like M. McClung and you may keep a little bit of yourself in the NBA just by doing that. I’m just saying M. McClung has worked for him and to a level he’s been hanging around the NBA and just skirting around the edges of it partly because of his dunk excellence. You’ve got this and in some ways this may be your biggest strength is these thunderous crazy dunks that you throw down at like six foot two. So Elijah Martin, I’m looking forward to his highlight reel, too. And in some ways, that is one of the most attractive things about him. Seriously, is he’s a highlight reel. That’s right. Most saying, “Happy for Quincy. Let’s go CMBB, Elijah, etc.” Yeah, Quincy Gary still in the fold along with Tyreek Key. Very, very happy to see those guys back. James is saying, “Playing with Luca Canel, Aton, lot of East Buckets, that’s for sure.” Well, uh, I’m still going to be hater and say that this is a crazy mix that they’re getting in LA. And seriously, Lakers fans, if it’s like been before the way it has always have been, it’s not changed. Let’s just put it that way. It has not changed yet. We’ll see. Ownership changes for the Lakers will have an impact in the years to come, but it’s too soon. You’re not going to get them yet. No, you’re not. You’re not going to get them yet. That and that Aton signing shows that they’re still dysfunctional and not thinking very clearly. Uh, Fiery saying, “Thank you, Mo’Nique and Trevor for posting the news.” Yeah, I do really appreciate what they do and a lot of you guys post all kinds of stuff and I appreciate a lot of you. Uh, Mo saying, “Hope Tyreek Key shooting comes around. I know it will.” Yeah, I’d like him to be on fire this time. Like seriously, Tyreek be like Jameson battle last year in summer league. Just night lights out. Just make everything. And I see that Mon’nique is now the top fan for today. Superfan Mo has risen to the top of the charts. number one on the top fans with Seymour and uh Smooth as two and three, our top uh three fans of the day. I don’t even know what that how you get that, but it’s Mon’nique. Mon’nique, you’re number one. That’s right. Uh Blackhawk saying Elijah’s more defensive than McClung. That’s what got him on the Raptors. This is true. Oh, this is true. Yeah, he’s he’s he’s stronger for sure and he has a penchant for just jacking people with the ball. That’s the thing. All three of our draft picks or all three of our rookies, I shouldn’t say draft picks, two of our draft picks and Chucky Heburn are all SP steel specialists. If there’s one category we drafted in the draft this year, it’s steals. All three of those guys get steals like crazy. Chucky Hepburn is known for steals. Uh Elijah Martin can just dog people all full court. And he is annoying, man, because he’s so strong and he’s quick. He runs right up and he’ll just snatch the ball from people like because he’s stronger than them. And so, and then, uh, CMBB, he’s absolutely a stocks machine. He doesn’t just get steals, he gets blocks, too, like Scotty does. So, uh, Colin Marie Boils is going to get steals and blocks. Elijah Martin’s gonna be strong armed stealing it. And, uh, Chucky Heapner is known for steals as the as the ACC defensive player of the year. So, basically, if there’s a category the Raptors drafted in the 2025 draft, it’s steals. There’s gonna be a lot of stealing going on. We’re going to be a thieving thieving band of thieves. Watch, man. A thieving band of thieves. It’s going to be good, man. Smooth saying is not serious about winning. He wants the lifestyle. Hence the Lakers. Yeah, it’s not even I I don’t know if he even chooses chose that. I don’t know. I in some ways, Pacers, you dodged the bullet. I’m just going to say that. Lakers, go ahead and jump on that hand grenade for the rest of the league. It’s here. Uh Seymour saying, “Ed Rogers reminds me of the average old Albertan calling for ICE to invade Alberta because people don’t like them, look like them.” Yeah, that’s the gross thing. The racists are like, some of them are just like really happy about what’s going on in the States and they’re gross people. These are not Christians. They may profess that they’re Christians and they go to church, but if they go to a church that’s professing hate and uh supports MAGA and what they’re doing right now, you are the most uncristlized. These are antichrist churches at this point. Seriously, these are churches of the the devil. Seriously, if they are promoting Donald Trump and his agenda and what he’s doing in the United States, your pastor is the antichrist. If he he is promoting and saying what they’re doing, I just have to tell the Americans that right now. That’s what that vibe is. And out west Albertans that are wanting to be like that, well, you’re gross. And you’re also uh turn coats Benedict Arnold’s and traders to the country of Canada. If you support Donald Trump here in in Canada, you are a traitor. trader traders. That’s right. Like cowboy. That’s right. Uh let’s see. Let me get on some of my tabs here real quick. We went over the draft uh depth chart for our summer league team. Hopefully I’ve given you guys some information. Jarkeel Joiner is really a baller, man. He’s going to be interesting to watch him. He kind of killed the 905 team at least once last year on the College Park Skyhawks. He scored like 35 points and just went off on us. Like he absolutely is a baller. He really is this year’s JFL. So, watch out for Joiner. Joiner is a JFL. He’s that kind of type of player. Seriously, you know what I’m talking about when I say he’s a JFL. Y’all know what a Javon Freeman Liberty is. That’s right. Y’all know about it. Is seeing that Frank Vogel is going to join the Mavericks as the lead assistant coach under Jason Kid. That’s interesting. Also seeing on the headlines on ESPN that Red Panda has broken her wrist. Red Panda is the lady who balances the the plates on her head on the on the unicycle. She fell during the Commissioners Cup game for the WNBA and hurt herself. And everybody’s really worried. This is crazy that the halftime performers getting uh uh headline on ESPN.com. That’s that’s how much she’s a badass. Honestly, that’s pretty pretty cool stuff, man. Pretty pretty cool stuff. All right, let’s keep going. I did the straight goods on Canadian goods. Freedom Mobile, I’m telling you guys, it may have to use the infrastructure, but it is they are a separate country company. Just so you know. Uh y’all check your WNBA fantasy teams because we do have games tonight. There’s been not much action this week so far with the Commissioners Cup and it not counting towards our fantasy. But we are going to have games tonight. So make sure you get your teams set up for tonight’s games. And in fact, let’s do the the ref report real quick and see who’s refing these games tonight. We got Vegas at Indiana Fever. Angelica Suffin is the crew chief with Angel Kent and Cla Aubrey. Los Angeles Sparks at New York Liberty. Isaac Barnett with Charles Watson and Sarah Williams. Seattle Storm at Atlanta Dream. Tiara Cruz, Fatu Sissoko Stevens and Blanca Burns. Uh Phoenix at Dallas, Kevin Fehey and Jenna Renault and Ryan Cisano. And Washington Mystics at Minnesota Lynx. Maj Forsber is the crew chief with Tim Green and Jeffrey Smith. So yeah, there’s your uh refs for the WNBA action for tonight. Get your fantasy lineup set up, y’all. Get them set. Don’t delay. Get them set. Yeah, we did the Instagram stories. Let Raptors Reddit. What are y’all doing? They are talking about maybe we should get CP3 on the vet minimum. No, we don’t need to do that. We They, you know, we don’t need to do that. Messiairi on Good Morning America. They’re talking about that on there. Uh there’s uh help with getting away from Rogers on Reddit. saying for those looking to cut Rogers out of their data provider as a result of the Messiah firing. A quick visual of the various subsidiaries under dishonest Ed’s regime and the terrible trio’s control. So yeah, basically if you don’t want to be Bell, Rogers or Telus, you got to go to Freedom Mobile or uh Fizz or V Media. And also you could get techsavvy. It is through the Rogers network, but it is technically not Rogers, guys. TechSavvy is not Rogers. you’re under a different company if you get techsavvy for your internet. So, I highly recommend them. I’ve been a customer of techsavvy. They’re fantastic. So, Freedom Mobile, TechSavvy, there are alternatives and we can go away from freaking Ed Rogers, the the doofus and idiot right there. There you go. There you go. That’s right. Um, let’s see. Anything else on here that’s interesting? I don’t think so. Uh they’ve got all the Colin Marie Boils uh uh plays from the 2024 2025 NCAA season on a file if you want to watch that. Uh also they got this weird Fox News clip saying it’s got a clip saying the war against working and it’s got a picture of Ben Simmons. And imagine thinking an organization like the Raptors were ever interested in Ben Simmons. Yeah, nobody thought that. Nobody thought that, guys. It’s ridiculous. Yeah. All right. Yeah, Raptors Reddit, you’re kind of goofy right now. We won’t worry about you guys right now. Uh, let’s see what else we got. Uh, there’s no birthday today, so I guess we’ll go ahead and do the classic card, guys. We’re kind of having a quick stream today, which I’m okay with. We’ve had some lexathons in the last week, a lot of three-hour streams, so maybe it’s good to kind of have a shorter stream today. Uh, get into our time frame actually today. Yeah, there we go. Rand saying, “Lex, I see Denver, OKC, Houston, Spurs, and Clippers as the top five in the West this year.” That’s not a bad top five. That seems very realistic, Randolph. With the moves that have happened this off seasonason so far, I can see that. All right. Yeah, let’s do this card. This is fun. All right, y’all. Classic card of the day. Get it quick because it’s going to be easy. All right. So, if you can see him from there, you know who it is. That’s right. That’s right. Who in the world is this? Let’s say, where is this guy? Yeah. Uh, you can see him. You know who that is. You can tell who that is. Full name answer. Get the classic card. Make sure you’re live. Hit the live button. I would bring it closer, but I I know if I bring it closer, y’all will get it easily. So, yeah, I have to cover half the card because it has his name on the half of the card. So, oh my gosh. Let me get this correct. Yeah. Who is that, guys? Of course, it’s Paul George. Kareem Thomas getting Paul George. You can tell who Paul George is from far away. Paul George on the Clippers. What a disaster. What a disaster that was. This is Yeah. London ball. London ball. There you go. Paul George on the Clippers. 50 points for Kareem on the classic card of the day. It is PG13 who I have no idea what’s going to happen with him. He’s going to be on the Sixers this year and he probably will be uh hurt half the time maybe. I’m going to guess. Uh 50 points for Kareem. He has two in a row. This is two days in a row. Kareem, you’ve gotten the classic card of the day. There you go. Two two day streak. You’re on a whle two-day streak, Kareem. Yeah, not a whle. Uh, Raptors classic car of the day street. That’s right. Anybody anything else you guys want to talk about? Anybody want to call? One more call. Should I call somebody instead? You guys want me to do a call for once? We’ll do a call on the air real quick. Um, let me see. Where is the caller I want to call real quick? Let me see. Where’s the number? Here it is. Let me see if I can get this person on the phone first of all. We’ll just see. I’m blind calling. I’m calling Murray Boils. All right. Let’s see. Let’s see if he answers. He probably won’t. It’s too early. Let’s just see though. See, probably won’t sleep. We’ll see. He probably won’t answer. If he does, we’ll see. If he does, I’ll be It’ll be awesome, bro.

  1. Going back to Infamous comments, I feel the same way. Been a Raps fan for over 27 years but leaning more towards players than the team now. Still follow Fred, OG & Pascal because they made the team. Now gonna follow what Masai does for sure.
