This is insanity. We have multiple updates to discuss on the Warriors pursuit of free agent center Al Horford. Will drama with the Nets derail the deal? Plus, new reports on the Bradley Beal buyout and how it affects the Warriors chances of signing the Sunstar. And who the hell did the Warriors get in the historic 17 team Kevin Durant trade that just got finalized. Everyone is confused, including most of the media. So, don’t worry, I got you. I’m going to break it all down for you, how it impacts the rest of the Warriors off season. And welcome to Warriors Digest. I’m Arthur Baysteros. We greatly appreciate it. Thanks to the 13K who’ve hit the button there. It helps us out a lot. And let’s discuss Clutch Points put out the article Warriors Rumors. What Mark Stein is hearing on the Al Horford pursuit. Mark Stein, formerly of ESPN, one of the most trusted NBA insiders. Today on his Stein line, he wrote about how the Nuggets might be complicating things in the Warriors pursuit of getting Al Horford. So Stein went on to write saying that while having the full non-axpayer midlevel would theoretically provide the Nuggets with the financial flexibility to offer a richer one-year salary to Boston Celtics free agent Al Horford than Golden State can pitch. I continue to hear that Horford is destined to land in the Bay. This is the news that we have heard nonstop for like two weeks now that the Al Horford signing is imminent. Then we heard that he’s choosing between the Warriors and retiring. Now this new wrinkle with the Nuggets here because what’s going on is the Nuggets made a deal with the Kings where they swap centers. The sent Dario Sarich, bad name to bring up to Warriors. We’ll get to that in a little bit, but they swapped him for the king center, Yonas Valenunis. Now, Jonas Valenunis says he wants to go over to Greece in play. He got a really lucrative offer over there for three years. He says he doesn’t want to be involved in this deal. So, all of a sudden, the Nuggets might be getting involved in the Al Horford signing. Tons of rumors saying that they are going to be jumping in if Valenunis ends up going over to Greece. Now, we did get an update here um earlier today where it said from Clutch Points here, the Denver Nuggets are considered to be a potential threat after they lost newly acquired Jonas Valenunis. But Stein reported that the Nuggets are determined to keep Valenunis in the NBA despite an enticing three-year offer from Greek powerhouse Penathonos. And that decision could ultimately remove Denver from the Horford sweep stakes altogether. So, if they’re able to keep Yonas on the team, Nuggets not involved in Horford. Uh we did get another update here. This was from uh Shams Trannia said that the Nuggets do expect Yonas Valenunis to honor his contract. So, pray that he goes to the Nuggets so the Nuggets get out of our business in Golden State and we can finally sign Horford. Also, new update from the San Francisco Chronicle. Warriors beat writer Sam Gordon. He had an update on the Horford situation, saying that Horford is a prime target for the Warriors. League sources confirmed to the Chronicle, but the five-time all-star big man, most recently on the Boston Celtics, and reportedly also considering retirement, isn’t expected to make a decision this weekend. So, if you’ve been waiting on baited breath for something to happen here with Horford, uh, as I’m recording this right now, it’s about 6:00 p.m. here in San Francisco where I am. So basically Sam Gordon saying don’t expect a deal to come this weekend, maybe tomorrow. A lot of people thought that it might come down today since the moratorum was lifted and you’re seeing a flurry of deals being made official today, but nothing on the Horford watch right now. Although um a lot of people did get very excited and confused and got caught by this tweet from NBA insider Jake Fiser, who is a very wellrespected name in the game. This came out saying that Al Horford had signed with the Warriors for two years, $12 million per his sources. This came out around 10:30 on the West Coast here in San Francisco. One of my editors here at Warriors Digest sent this link over to me. I did about 3 seconds of factecking here. This is a fake account. Watch what’s out there in NBA free agency trade rumors. We’re all familiar with NBA sentel and getting sentled, getting, you know, falling for some of these uh fake tweets that are out there. So, just be careful. Always check your sources. That’s what we do here at Warriors Digest. Myself, Randy Silver, we work hard factecking all of this stuff so we can bring you the most accurate, up-to-date information here. Speaking of which, we did get an update on the Bradley Beal buyout situation. This was tweeted out by John Gamadoro. He is the top insider for the Phoenix Suns. the most trusted source when it comes to Suns. He’s always like five steps ahead of what’s actually going to happen with the Suns. He’s been covering the team for 30 years. He’s been saying for a long time they’re going to buy out Bradley Beal. He says now that he expects the decision and resolution on the Bradley Beal situation in the next 24 to 48 hours. So, at some point potentially by Monday, we should be getting a resolution here on whether or not the Suns are going to buy out Bradley Beal. Now he has a $55 million a year contract. Two years left on it. It’s a terrible deal. Rumors are he’s either going to get a buyout for 80 to90 million. That way the Suns can get under the second apron. Makes him a free agent. The Suns may also do a wave stretch like the Bucks did with Dame Lillard. Either way, the Warriors are rumored to be interested in Beal. There’s been rumors for months that have linked the Warriors to Bradley Beal in one way or another. A lot of those rumors coming from Jan John Gamidoro himself, the latest rumors that have been picked up by a lot of publications. Quote Jamoro saying that uh the Warriors are interested. There are no new updates. Talk about checking sources, factchecking all of that. I cannot find John Gamidoro saying that recently anywhere. yet. There are major publications who are running the story from Sports Illustrated on down the line. So, just also double check, watch those. I did do a full breakdown on Bradley Beal and how he would fit into the Warriors. I do think it would be a really interesting signing for them if they’re able to get him on a vet minimum deal. So, that’s the update there. Watch out for the fake news there. All right, man. Also, the Warriors, they were involved in that historic 17 team trade that went down for Kevin Durant. Now, we’ve known about this deal for a long time. It couldn’t be finalized until today when the moratorum on moves was lifted around, I think it was 9:00 a.m. Pacific here. So, it got lifted. We finally got the details on it. And everybody is confused about who the Warriors actually got in the deal. So, if you look at the breakdown from ESPN’s Shams Trannia, he breaks it down for you where these are the pieces that we already knew for a fact that Jaylen Green, Dylan Brooks was going to be going uh over to Phoenix in exchange for Kevin Durant. And then like seven different deals got roped into one. So, we heard about most of these deals individually as they came out over the past few days, but then these were all worked in together in order to provide some more salary cap relief for a couple of teams involved here. So, Phoenix gets Jaylen Green, Dylan Brooks, Kaman Malik, Rashir Fleming, Kobe Brea, who was taken with the 41st pick in uh the 2025 draft just a couple of weeks ago. That was the Warriors pick. They traded that to the Suns so they could move back and get two picks in the 50s. The Warriors took Alex Tui with that. But also tons of confusion here around the second name that the Warriors are receiving per Shams. Jamai Mhach who um is a very promising defensive uh wing player. Now he’s actually being rerouted in a separate deal here. So this is the breakdown here on that. He is not coming to the Warriors. Do not trust those reports that are out there. NBC Bay Area broke it down really well here where they said the Warriors received the draft rights to Australian forward Alex Tuhi whom they selected with pick number 52 after a draft night trade with Phoenix and Tennessee guard Jamai Meshack who according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dalton Johnson. Shout out to Dalton Johnson. he got this correct first, but while a lot of people, including big national media, was getting the story wrong. Um, where he was able to confirm that he was being rerouted to the Memphis Grizzly as part of their second night, uh, draft night trade to acquire the rights to Florida guard Will Richard. So, the Warriors have Will Richard and Alex Tuhi. No real movement there. We already knew that. They were already introduced as Warriors. They are currently, as we speak here, I’m pretty sure the game is still going on. They are both playing in the Warriors summer league game tonight. I did confirm that just before I started recording here because there was some confusion whether or not um they were both going to be available for the game, especially Will Richard. There was some contention here. It looked like there may be some drama between the Grizzlies and the Warriors as this was reported uh by ABC, the local affiliate in Memphis, that the Grizzlies did secure the draft rights to Jamai Meshack from the Warriors in a multi-asset trade. But apparently there was a lot more confusion going on here. If you look at the bottom here, uh, as part of the deal, the Grizzlies also received, uh, or this is kind of breaking down exactly what the Grizzlies and the Warriors swapped here for this deal. As part of the deal, the Grizzlies also received a first a future conditional second round pick and the draft rights to Justinian Jessup, the number 51 overall pick in the 2020 draft. So that’s what they got from the Warriors. In exchange, Memphis sent the draft rights to Will Richard, selected 56th overall in the 2025 draft. So, that wraps up the biggest trade in NBA history. Pretty much uh a net and equal for the Warriors here, but we at least finally have confirmation. There was a lot of speculation there may be some other parts involved uh that the Warriors may be getting something else back that would help them in the meantime. That’s not happening. So, put those dreams to rest. But there are a ton of reports that Mike Dunlevy is not done. And so, we’re all still waiting on these dominoes to fall. This was reportedly the big domino that needed to fall with this Kevin Durant trade. It needed to be made official so that the Warriors could ultimately like make, you know, the rest of the moves that they’re trying to do here, including Jonathan Kaminga, which there there’s no movement there. There has been no new things. So, I have nothing to update you with there on the Jonathan Kaminga front. If you’re like me as a Warriors fan, we’re all extremely frustrated with this off season. We’re all trying to be patient. We’re all trying to let Mike Dunlevy cook. We know that there are efforts. We see read all the rumors. And that’s why I bring all of this news to you. This is the story of your team’s off season and what they’re trying to do here. That’s why we’re talking about all this speculation and stuff like that cuz this is the story and one thing may not work out and it sets off a tra chain reaction for something else here in the case of potentially you know how the Yonas Valenunis deal is all messed up between the Nuggets there and how that may affect the Warriors down the line with Alor all of that it’s all interconnected here as we see how complicated trades are and signings are to do under this new CBA it’s all connected in one domino makes another thing fall. And lastly here, as I’m about to run out of breath and have a heart attack here because there’s just so many just confusing things going on here. Uh the Warriors, we said bye to Cavan Looney or Cavan Looney said bye to us officially. We know he signed a new 2-year 16 million dollar deal with the Pelicans, but he uh wrote this very heartfelt uh piece in the Players Tribune. You can read part of it on his Instagram there. It will make you cry as a Warriors fan as you just reminisce on the past 10 years, how much he’s meant to this franchise and being a part of three championships there. It was very interesting. One thing that I did want to highlight here with his goodbye in the highlighted section here, he did say it’s not an easy decision. I know that it’s been a good uh past 10 years, believe me. Year after year, anytime free agency came up, I always said that if money was even close, I was going to stay. This time around though, it wasn’t something where the Warriors made me a solid competitive offer and I would be able to pick between the two or maybe give the Warriors a bit of a discount. That wasn’t even an option this time. Unfortunately, that offer never really came. So, just very interesting to see that the Warriors did not offer Looney a deal at all, even a vet minimum deal. They just wanted to part ways in order to have different options here for the center position. And now, uh, they might be stuck with no center whatsoever and we may roll into the season with Quinton Post and, uh, Trace Jackson Davis as our center rotation. I do hold out hope this Horford thing is going to go down at some point and we will keep you up to date as soon as we get some news on the Warriors making a move here. Something going down. So make sure you hit that subscribe button dog cuz you don’t want to miss a thing. We’ll be here. Holler. Have a great Sunday night. Peace.

EDIT: In the intro I said the Nets, but meant to say the Nuggets 🫠 Warriors offseason has fried my brain 😭
I hope the Warriors sign Beal if he's buyout
Thanks for your work. Much appreciated👍
This Warriors front office is literally the worst front office. No trades, no big signings. This FO acts like we don’t wanna win.
