back at it. What’s the for the process looking like for for this particular offseason?
Yeah, man. Just trying to get better every day, you know? Uh trying to take every day serious coming here, get my work in, take care of my body. So, just trying to continue to get better. So,
I’ve had a couple different some of these experiences go, I think, in a couple different directions. How are you feeling mentally heading into a third one? You know, what are you hoping to accomplish?
Yeah, I feel good, man. Uh kind of like I just said, just trying to use this opportunity to get better. Uh make the most of it. Every time I step on the floor, you know, I try and uh, you know, make the most of each opportunity. So, going to go out there, try and win, try and work on my game, try and get better, and, you know, just use the game reps to continue to grow my game.
What are those things that you want to show the coaching staff and the future decision makers?
I mean, just everything. Be all around basketball player, you know, like, you know, take good shots, make shots, um, put the ball on the floor, be a playmaker, defend, rebound, just all around. Who are you like who’s who have you connected with the most kind of on this on this particular summer league roster? Uh I mean probably Don. That’s uh that’s the guy I’ve spent the most time with. We sit beside each other in the locker room. So you know I’ve I’ve seen how hard he’s worked this whole year to you know get to this point and you know I’m looking forward to you know stepping out there with him.
How are you embracing more of a vocal leadership role here having done this twice with some of these guys being your first time?
Yeah, I mean just kind of trying to talk help lead any way I can. Um, you know, I feel like that’s something I’ve always done. So, just be vocal and, you know, just try and help. So,
anything standed out to you about this roster? Maybe a lot of shooters, a lot of defenders.
A lot of good players, man. I mean, we got a really good team, very deep. Um, so I’m looking forward to getting out to Vegas with him.
How kind of I don’t know, will there be any sort of emotions of of getting to see Don back out there and kind of like getting another chance to play in the place where he had the injury last year and everything? No, it’ll be exciting for sure. Like I said, he’s worked really hard um this whole season to get to this point. He’s really taken care of his body, so I feel like he’s in a good spot and I’m excited to play with him. So,
what do you think of uh Andrew Mson and is there a big difference from year one to year two as summer league coach?
Uh probably not a big difference. I mean, he did a really good job last year, I think, but this year, you know, I I think he’s doing a really good job. you could tell he’s um maybe you could tell he’s done it before, you know, very confident and you know, just shown us a lot of good things, being a great teacher. So,
if you could take one thing from this upcoming experience into the next season, what would it be? Uh that’s a good question. I think, you know, kind of like I said, just continue to grow my game and get better. So, I think that’s what, you know, this experience is about and I think, uh, you know, that’s what I’m focused on. Any early impressions of Tamar Bates coming in, new guy on the tour?
Yeah, really good player. He’s fiery, good defender. Um, he he’s done a really good job these first two days and even last week he was here early. So,
yeah, I like his game. Fiery. How so?
Uh, you could just tell like he’s he’s got a lot of energy, talks. So, he’s been good. How do you kind of balance wanting to expand your game and focusing on the things that the team might need from you in a in a like a regular season NBA game?
Yeah, I mean I think there’s always room for growth, especially in the offseason. But, you know, when you get to the regular season, that’s when roles are carved out and that’s when you get more comfortable in doing exactly what the team needs. But right now, I think uh you know, offseasons are about growth. Thanks. Awesome. Thank you. Appreciate it.
