3RD PLACE GAME: New Zealand v Slovenia | Full Basketball Game | FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2025
[Music] Hey, [Music] Hey, [Music] [Music] [Music] Nice. Thank you. [Music] Let’s go. It’s time to Please, please. [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I die 14. [Music] [Applause] [Music] assistant. Welcome team. [Music] [Applause] Stay [Music] [Music] off. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Come on. Another [Music] are God. for the exal. Hallelujah. Oh, [Music] heat, heat. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Glory to you. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] Well, a very warm welcome to Loausan Arena here for the third place playoff match at the FEA under 19 basketball World Cup for 2025. The referees are all set to go and we’re all set to go here as we get set for this match. It’s going to be a beauty between New Zealand and Slovenia. This will be a very good finish for both of these two teams. New Zealand have never finished higher than fourth at a fever tournament as we get set for their hucker drive to tip off. [Music] Yeah. [Applause] [Music] All you Oh. My best [Music] oh. Oh [Applause] yeah. Haka. Well led there by Kahu Preacher. He’s from the Hawks Bay region in New Zealand. Now based in the United States, yes, New Zealand have finished fourth on two previous occasions at FEA World Cups. Here is the starting five for Slovenia. Not choosing to start with their shooting guard, Mark Padin, which is an interesting call. But they do have their high scorer of the tournament, 16 points per game, Zack Shria, number nine. Also starting number six, Leon Zraovich Vitraa Erban Cloffich their captain and Laro Lea. There is the coach Daniel Raisalovich just to 34 years of age and a former player himself exooting guard played in the under 16 European Championships back in 2007. Starting five for New Zealand, Hayden Jones, Jackson Ball, Tama Isaac the captain, Julius Halai, Feno, and Oscar Goodman. Hayden Jones is the star of this New Zealand team. He’s been scoring 14 points per game at 41% and is ninth overall in rebounding with eight. Also chiming in with three assists, too. Head coach of the New Zealand team is Matt Lacy. So just a minute to tip off. There is Matt Lacy there. 30 years of age. A young coach coming through the system in New Zealand.
Turn the corner. Not there. No angle. We can fan out to this one. Okay. Second position. Let’s go 35. Okay. So final instructions. New Zealand come into this match having won three and having lost two. They lost to Serbia on pool play 103 to 97. Lost to the United States in the semi-final 12-64. Slovenia have lost three games. They lost their first two games to Germany and Canada and then lost to Germany again in the semi-finals 8472. Key win for them was in the round of 16 when they beat Argentina by just a single point 81 to 80. He’s put hard in this both teams heading into this match. and what is going to be a big moment for both countries in their sports. [Music] Yeah, nice to have you with us. And uh don’t forget if you’re on Instagram or ex follow us at NextGen Hoops. And if you’re on YouTube, of course, watching this game, don’t forget to subscribe. We’ve got uh one of three tiers to pick from, rookie, starter, or MVP. And join the growing community today. Here is Tip off. Thank you for joining us. Don’t think the tip was high enough there. So, we’re going to have that again. It’s going to be Halo Fenua and Kaba. It’s going to be won by Halo Fenua for New Zealand. They’re in the white. And here is Tama Isaac. So, thank you for joining us. Going to be a great game this one involving some very good talent from two pretty decent basketball nations. Isaac now for New Zealand. It’s a screen from Oscar Goodman. Well defended by Slovenia in this first possession. And that’s been turned over in Stoolar Kaba. Now Slovenia on the fast way through Profich [Music] be scoring at 12 points per game in this tournament. [Music] Schmica [Music] trying to get around the big body of Halof. And there’s a great start for Slovidia. [Music] That was excellent work from Zack Sria. He is one of three players in this 12 player squad that have already played for the Slovenian senior men’s team. [Music] He doesn’t complete the three-point play. Slovenia will still keep possession. [Music] Back to Croft. Four on the shot clock for Croftich. There goes the three ball and it’s well away this time from Schmeica. That’s well defended [Applause] by this New Zealand team. [Music] So two to nil the score remains here early in this match. New Zealand just a one turnover at the other end of the court. [Music] There they try again here through Halo Fenua. There’s the sevenfooter going to work in getting the first two points for the New Zealand team locking the scores up at two a piece. Oh, has really come good in the back end of this tournament. Some good numbers being posted by the setup. He’s been scoring 10 points per game and working hard defensively as well. Like that one right there. He’s been grabbing six rebounds a game. New Zealand actually out rebounding. Slovenia heading into this match quite comfortably. 48 rebounds per game compared to 33. So keep your eye on that stat as we move through this one. Big difference between the team stats in rebounding. There’s a travel violation called there against Urban Crawl. So a turnover to New Zealand. Jackson Ber, youngest player there in the New Zealand team, earning that turnover, the number four. Good pressure coming to from Hayden Jones. And speaking of pressure, that’s great work there from [Music] near the halfway line. Tama Isaac’s going to have his hands full with Zalovvich who’s already proved challenging for the New Zealand captain. Here’s Isaac again almost losing a good nice pass and Jones is fouled driving strongly. Foul is going to go on Brit is [Music] 69. The New Zealand team does have a bit more height than their Slovenian opponents. Hayden Jones at the free throw line here. He’s been shooting the ball at 65%. New Zealand’s free throw shooting is probably by these standards a little bit on the low side. 65% [Music] but Jones gets two out of two on that visit and opens his account for the match. Here comes Shria again. Crawl [Music] Zealand keeping it’s kind of a zone in the front court and there’s a three from Praba. Nice shot from him. There’s the first from long range and Slovenia take the lead by one. Papa would the first maximum. Nice pass from Ball and there’s two more points to New Zealand. Tama Isaac underneath gets his first points of the contest. [Music] Goff [Music] didn’t quite use Lea as a screen there. So plan B in action here for Svenia with four on the shot clock. Oh, blocked. Excellent work by Halen for Jones. Now Jones tailor made for him as he helps himself for two points. Going to have to watch Hayden Jones in this match. He’s the son of Phil Jones who was part of the New Zealand team that finished fourth at the 2002 World Championships in Indianapolis. We got a offensive foul called on Slipinia as well there. There’s the play there and the foul’s going to go on. Things going New Zealand play. Yes, New Zealand have it’s the third time they’ve tried to finish third and feed the tournament failed on the other two occasions and Hayden Jones’s father was one in one of those teams as I touched on back in 2002. The other time was last year 2014 at the under 17 World Cup and four of those players last year uh in this squad here. Jackson Ball, Lachlan Craig, Oscar Goodman and Hayden Jones. Got a couple of turnovers for both teams early in this one. New Zealand enjoying a three-point lead. This Lebanonian team trying again. Here’s Praa with another three. Not to be and rebounded by Jones [Music] trying to work off Julius Halai Fenua. And now Goodman. No foul on Oscar Goodman, but he’s going to take the two points and he’s concerned there about landing awkwardly there on the angle. Looks like Matt Lacy, the New Zealand coach, isn’t mcking around here. Carter Hawkboy is coming into the game. And I’m sure Goodman might come out. Goodman. Let’s see if we can Oh, yeah. That right ankle just landing rather awkwardly on it. Oscar Goodman, a very bright prospect. He made the All-Star tournament team at the under 17 World Cup last year and he’s at Michigan University. Several of these New Zealand players have already linked up with New Zealand with the American universities and we will hope New Zealand fans will hope that that is not the end of Goodman in this game. show. That’s a big blow for New Zealand’s chances in the clash. He’s only been on court for 3 minutes 34. [Applause] That’s well defended by New Zealand again. Ball off the pressure from Halai Feno. Here’s Jones over the ball. He’s Cardinal Hook. Boy, a more than adequate replacement there for Goodman, but just as I say that, he’s been called to traveling. Car boy off the bench has been scoring seven points per game at 42% and taking six rebounds. He’s been a key piece of the jigsaw puzzle for New Zealand in this tournament so far. [Music] Now [Music] looks a good part, doesn’t he? That’s good work. See why he’s scoring 16 points per game at 41%. He’s also chiming in with five rebounds and four assists. He’s been in superb form in this tournament. He and Jones going to work there. That’s going to be a good one-on-one battle in this game. going to the free throw line for a three-point play and he completes it that time. Cut that lead back to two points. New Zealand in front. Carter Hoy kind of working for a much smaller man there and he actually has been fouled there as Troy Plumree enters the game as well. [Applause] Must have fell as well looking to complete that post move. [Applause] Already three fouls conceded by the Slovenians in the first 4 and 1/2 minutes. Keep your eye on that too as we move through this game. Fouls are going to be key. And Slovenia have been conceding 24 fouls per game. New Zealand 19 to this point. Checking out. Let’s see if we can level a look at Oscar Goodman on the bench there. Still getting some attention on that right angle as Carter Hawboy. There’s a second free throw which he completes as well. And back to a four-point lead. [Music] Profit. Schnea. Raflitch again. Continue this tight man on men marking at the moment. Crawl. Three ball is good. [Music] Second three-pointer drops in as Leonovich was the player on that occasion. Jones. Strong, isn’t he? Hayden Jones. New Zealand has not been rattled after a big basket by their opponents. [Applause] [Music] Men inside to Hara and then shot going deep on this play. Stolen by Tama Isaac. Oh, stolen back though. That’s good work by Cork. the hustle back there and disrupt [Applause] just getting in there almost pinching it. The game comes Mark Padan. Now watch out for him. He’s a very good all round player. Second in the tournament in free throw shooting and fifth equal in assists. Number four is a key player for Slovenia. Tander Masters out there now for New Zealand too wearing the eight singlet. Here’s Plum Tree. Nice pass. Oh boy. It’s fouled again under the basket. So New Zealand go into the bonus now. That fell might have gone on. He’s trying to pick who pick up who that fell win. Might have gone on. Pagan number four. Other player might have been Ali Menich, but didn’t go on him. So, oh boy, back to the line. He was three from three from the free throw line already. Hoy to keep his 100% free throw record intact. She does. Four for four. So New Zealand back into the lead by that five-point margin. Solid start by this New Zealand team. They’re shooting the ball at 100%. Haven’t missed. Living out four from nine minutes. [Applause] Shria and that’s been turned over and this tight tough New Zealand defense is continuing. So having real problems breaking it down at the moment. Isaac once more working away on Goodwin’s right ankle over on the beach there. You can see at the top now we’ve got an got an illegal screen there by the look of it. The blocking foul has been called on Toy Bluntry. [Applause] Referees for this match by the way. Matthew Ms will of the United States. Vincov of Bulgaria and Yan Bzel Davidson of Madagascar. Isaac takes a seat on the bench. The guards out there now for New Zealand ball and masters for Flinia. Schmina Faba tightly by Crateer [Music] again. The shot clock going down to 5 seconds. Schmina, he’s a good player, isn’t he? That’s a lovely two-point play there from Zack Schmika. played two games for the Slovenian national senior men’s team, scoring five points per game. Going to be a key player into the future. No doubt about it. Mastards driving strongly and not getting the luck with that roll and how Shinko gets the rebound. A chance for the Slovenian team to narrow to get to one or possibly tie the ball game up. A rebound by Hook Boy and the foul is going to go on. Junior Halen number 11. That will take Slovenians to the free throw line as Halo Fenorf sits down after a productive opening first quarter for him. Two points for him and three blocks already for Halai Famil. Three blocks. Wow. He’s been replaced by Will Blight [Music] Sa at the line. That’s the second. Talked about the three players in the Svenian team have already played for the senior men’s team. Several of the New Zealanders already played for the New Zealand senior men’s team as well. Six of them. It’s half the squad. Here is Masters. Offensive rebound by Crate is good. And it’s Messi for New Zealand, but it’s still in their possession. Here’s H boy. Nice pass to Crate and Crate rolls it in. That was a tidy play from New Zealand. They made something from nothing there. And it finished off by Lachlan Crate. [Music] Here’s Latin Craig going to the free throw line and can’t complete the three-point play. In New Zealand, their lead is three with 220 to play in the first quarter. Kovsky’s out there now. Number 10 for Levvenia in that court at the moment. Padin out there too. Oh, there goes Sneaker again. He is cooking. 12 points already for him. There’s Levia lock the scores up. There’s boy almost losing possession, but Jones is there to tidy up now. ball [Applause] Jones again. Here’s Crate. That’s going to be another two free throws for Lock and Crate. [Music] They’re going to concede the personal foul. Have conceded six fouls now in this first quarter. 12 points on a 57% shooting performance. It’s excellent. as Slovenian team fights and they’re very worthy opponent and they’ve been excellent through this tournament. Remember, you’re watching the third place playoff game here at the under 19 World Cup. Those graphics call too. I’m sure you’ve been enjoying them through the tournament in selected games. [Applause] by Genius Sports. The tracking of the players is marked on the screen in possession. [Music] It’s super sharp. There it is there. Mark Padan with the ball. Nice drive to the basket. Pad gives Levi the lead by one. First time they’ve been in the lead since early in this quarter. 90 seconds left. The ball going baseline. Can’t get the basket. And there’s Menich with the rebound. Slovenia can stretch their lead now. Crawl all away. Irvan Crawl. Nice little run here for Slovenia. Just gone a little cold. Jones for three. Can’t get the basket. Offensive rebound by Blight, but he’s been called for a foul. New Zealand don’t have a three-pointer yet. They’re 0 for two from the three-point line. [Music] There’s Crawl going to work at the other end of the court. Schmeik have certainly been key players so far in this first quarter for this Slovenian team. [Applause] [Music] So this is Menich at the line. Four lead changes in this first quarter. country. Tough rebound taken by New Zealand there. They trail by four though. Here’s Blight now. Ballry’s lost it. It’s been taken out of bounds by a Slovenian player with eight on the shot clock. Farmer Isaac. Whoops. And it’s been turned over from the inbound play. That’s not good for New Zealand as Tokovsky looking to take advantage. The Slovenian team a vital turnover. It’s at the end of this first quarter. Crawl again to Crawl again. Oh yes. Crawl with a big basket. He’s got eight points. Five points in fact. There’s Leinia going on a big run at the end of this first quarter. There’s Isaac being blocked on a drive to the basket. Well, currently the Slovenians on an 8 and0 run and they have finished this first quarter super strong. Can’t miss the moment. Their shooting percentage up to 64%. So after a slow start, they’ve really warmed up their ball. Plumry Jones with four on the shot clock get the roll off the rim and now Slovenia have got two seconds here. [Applause] Not far away from the buzz of beater but in the end it’s been an excellent end to that first quarter for Slovenia as they take a seven-point lead at the end of the first. They lead 26-19. [Music] USA. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] We got a Hey, [Music] [Applause] hey, hey. Hey, goat. Second quarter underway in this third playoff game, third place flyoff game rather, between Slovenia and New Zealand. Let’s don’t forget the final coming up a little bit later between these between the United States and Germany. Padan for Levvenia German losing to the United States in the semi-finals and of course losing to Germany. Now Plantry he gets the 2.0 to count. [Music] Great job by him. Excellent work by Troy Plumree from Wellington in New Zealand. and he will be a key figure for New Zealand with Oscar Goodman still in doubt for the rest of the game with that ankle injury. He went down awkwardly on in that after the first of three minutes. Three-point play completed there by Plumree and cut that lead to four. [Music] Gosski chip that just out there now that one well rebounded by Plum Tree. Now Hboy goes James baseline run out of real estate. Can’t get it back to Plum Tree now. Chip is coming down court. Nice fast break by Forage. Good execution by Slovenia again for up to seven points. country again puts the spin move on and is fouled right there by Crawl. Be his second foul. Tiny little body contact on the back there of Troy Plumree. Now Lacy the eyes of a coach all effort for him as Troy Flumpry looks to complete the three-point play or rather the two free throws. done a great job. Matt Lacy, some coaches in the New Zealand Basketball League gets the second country’s up to five points. The lead is four for the Slovenian team. Kovski [Applause] is working so well for New Zealand early in the game and there’s minutes in the post marked off by Jackson B. Two on the shot clock to the free goes in again and that’s what we saw from New Zealand earlier on in the match. Looks like Menich is going to pick up the foul. That will be his second foul as well. [Music] [Applause] [Music] That’s the first foul for Manage. [Music] Nine personal fouls now conceded by Svenia. But just looking at the live stat screen here on the Fever website, none of the plans are actually in more than one foul. A very even spread. New Zealand have considered five or more on two at the moment. Not on court. Here’s Isaac. Oh, he’s turned it over and one by Plutski. Nice play from Plute. On the shot clock as we see Plut handle here and the left hand can’t nail it. And now Jones has got it. Isaac for three. First three of the games for New Zealand. That’s going to force a timeout from Isaac goes to five points and New Zealand cut that lead to one. Great job by Tama Isaac. It’s 28 to 27 in favor of Slovenia. [Music] Yeah. [Music] 9. [Music] So, it’s a one-point game to the Slovenian team. Leading score in the game is Schlink at the moment with 12 points. Brockage has seven. Leading score for New Zealand at the moment, Hayden Jones with six. Plum tree and Isaac have five each. Mention that website. Don’t forget to on the official website for the Feb under 19 is website is the MVP poll as well. Who’s going to be the MVP of the tournament? You can vote there and maybe one of the players in this game might have impressed you. For maybe Hayden Jones, [Music] he stood on the baseline there. just couldn’t quite link up to Slimy will still have possession. Kovski to inbound it force Levenia. [Music] Nice finish there by Pikovski over the top of Jackson Ball. Levvenia’s high shooting percentage continues. They’re going at 52%. He’s on 57 at the moment. Putting up as many shots. Put up 21 shots in the game. New Zealand just 14. And fouls keep being conceded by Slovenia. It’s their fourth foul already. And uh we send New Zealand into the bonus. for the rest of this quarter [Music] could be a feature of the game. Number of fouls being conceded by Slovenia now in double digits. It’s two to one have conceded just by Isaac. Nice and Isaac can’t make a roll off that rim as Padian gets the rebound. Is that called for the foul? [Music] [Applause] Yeah, just getting that contact there from Tamar Isaac and he’s going to concede his first personal foul. Craig comes back into the game. Pagan thinking about the three, but in the end it opens right up there. New Zealand defense breaks down on that occasion and Matt Lacy doesn’t like it. He’s called a timeout. Slovia back out to a five-point lead. Nice awareness by Padion there. seal the space and he won’t get two easier points than that in the tournament. Martian 32 to 27 in favor of Slovenia.
Hey, we’re going to go right now. [Applause] Some punches. punches. Okay, we’re gone back to 14. 14. Crop, you got a wall. You got a wall. Verticality. Verticality. Right now, if you’re guarding nine and the wall screen comes, right, you got to crawl into that hip to chase over the drop. Cloud calms. We got to know to crawl in. Okay. Hey, when we get stopped, you can push. Okay. Right on through. 1 2 3 [Music] up by 32 to 27. Hope you’re enjoying this third place playoff match here at the Fever Under 19 World Cup. Don’t forget that grand final coming up soon between the United States and Germany. And uh don’t forget you can ask me or any of our fever commentators. One of the three membership tiers rookie startle or MVP for answering your questions. And there’s a question answered by lock and crate. He finds two points for New Zealand. lead is three. So plenty of time left in this second quarter. That foul count from Slovenia is going to be interesting. But speaking of fouls, there is Carter Hawoy [Music] conceding a foul there. His first Got to be Phillip Pitovski to inbound it. Padme back out there. Oh jeez, that’s a beauty. This man is hot. 15 points in the game. shooting the ball at 63% five from eight. It has been a big reason for Slovenia building this six-point lead. Ho boy can’t get the three. Crate’s got the offensive rebound and that’s come off for Flex. So, it’s going to be New Zealand possession again. New Zealand’s three-point percentage in this tournament. It’s just 26% heading into this game and he uh again that’s a percentage New Zealand coach Matt Lacy I’m sure would like to see lifted. Here’s Jones has a blocked. No foul. Corlich. And now Jones conceds the foul. [Music] Yeah. A little frustration there from Aiden Jones. Calls from the Slovenian team for an unsportsmanlike foul there, too. Let’s see what the referee’s going to decide here. So, Hayden Jones will not be a unsportsmanlike foul. In fact, they’re going to review it. Have a look at a replay here. We’re going to review if the contact meets the criteria for an unsportsmanlike foul. Y you have an opinion?
My point is first contact on this arm. You know this arm not making any effort. You have you have an unsportsman like foul.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes. mic.
Okay. So after review the contact met [Applause] throws for the Slovenian team with Hayden Jones action rule unsportsmanlike. Two free throws coming up and Slivy are going to get possession. [Music] Free throw line is Zach Schneer. [Music] Biggest lead of the game now for the Slovenian team. Eight points. New Zealand’s lead biggest lead has been five. had a very good start to the game New Zealand, but Slovenia have been rolled their sleeves up and really have come back into the game super well. [Music] And here is Crawl Pad. Two more for New Zealia and they are on a nice roll now. 10-point lead. Five to play in this first half. Crate. [Music] Halo Fenua. Oh boy. Out to Crate. Now Halo Fenua. Just two points in the game for Julius Halai Fenure. And scramble for the ball is won by New Zealand Isaac. back for Jones and he’s fouled. Nice gutsy play by Hayden Jones. Worth reminding you too that Oscar Goodman has we’ve not seen him return from that ankle injury. He is still on the bench there, but sitting by himself right at the top right there. Doesn’t look good there for Oscar Goodman, does it? who fell awkwardly on that ankle after 3 minutes and 34 seconds. Now this is Hayden Jones at the line. [Music] It’s not going well from the free throw line in this game. They are 11 from 13 at the moment. The way the Slovenians are fouling, they’re going to be taking a lot more free throws in this game. So this is going to be an important part of the game for this New Zealand team. Jones gets the second goes to eight points. Four of them are free throws. [Music] Pedovichski rather. Here is Hadion that’s been taken away by Halai Feno. Now Isaac and we’ve got a foul against number 12 been a flute got a birthday coming in two days. He’s going to turn 19. Check out there. There’s the contact there. PL is going to take a seat on the bench. You can see it’s his second foul. Three players now from the Slovenian team on two fouls. Menach Luna Pluta and also Hadion. This is Julius Halo Fenoa at the free throw line. He’s been going at 63% from the strike in this tournament. It’s just been given a little bit of a boost with two from two return there from Julius Halifeno at Georgetown University in the United States. Pretty successful first year there too. He’s cor [Music] and Schmika are continuing to dominate this game. Cor up to 11 points. Shik has 15 26 of the 41 points to those two for the Slovenian team. Locky crates just short with that three. And there’s H boy. It’s come off him and going to be Slovenian possession. Carter Hoy from Toadonga in New Zealand. And now here is Schmeikica once again. Over to Corlitch. Nice pass. Not converted though by Minich. And now here’s Jackson ball. [Music] Here’s Isaac. Nice pass over to Ball. Shot clock down to single numbers. Hallelu double teams. And he’s going to be fouled by Menach. Yeah, Menich is going to concede his third foul. Men is the tallest in the Slovenian team at 210. A lot of fouls being conceded by Slovenia in this first half. 13 fouls now. It’s really mounting. So here’s Hawaii Fenor again at the free throw line. Man is going to stay out there on three fouls. We’ll see if the tactic is continued by coach Ro Savlic. [Applause] gets through out of two and 40 minutes will be pulled now and he is and the game comes and it’s sitting down on three fouls. New Zealand’s free throw percentage 16 from 18 now 89% Free ball short this time. And there is [Applause] a foul against Halai Feno. Well, he is now probably going to be forced to sit down on three fouls. So out of the game he goes. Plantry coming back in. There’s that handle going around that big screen here at NextGen Hoops. Don’t forget to join the party folks. Instagram and X. Nice pass. Lea defense though by New Zealand. Well done by Troy Plumry there. And now here comes Isaac. Isaac creates space for himself really well there and rolls in the two. And
there’s going to be a counter from Tama Isaac. First field goal for a little while. New Zealand been relying on free throws and Tama Isaac has seven points in the game now. But we’ve got a technical foul against New Zealand. saw the official just at the other end of the court. Try and pick up what uh happened there for you. [Music] 42 to 37. Yeah, there’s a technical foul on coach Matt Lacy. Oh boy for New Zealand on the fast break. Jackson ball. Nice pass and Isaac. It’s a quick finish from Karma Isaac. Another timeout called by Slovenia as New Zealand narrowed that gap from eight back to three. Beautiful little push there from Ball and that is not an easy finish from Tama Isaac who’s on nine points now. Superb there from New Zealand. It’s 42 to 39 to Slovenia. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] are enjoying the game really well. Overall, they’re shooting at 51.7%. New Zealand 50% exactly. [Applause] New Zealand one from five though from three-point range just 20% and Svenia’s perimeter shooting’s been good. Five from 11 45%. So a lot more threepoint shots up. Concerning for New Zealand Jackson ball here hasn’t really got going in the game just yet. can’t nail that free throw from another technical foul which was given. So a technical fouls from both coaches have now been conceded in this game. Jackson ball still hasn’t scored. He’s been going it was it here 12 points per game but looked right in the last couple of games as we see a foul there by baller was driving really strong there to the basket a lovely pass and ball put his body on the line there so two free throws coming up here both teams now in the bonus was that Sria has been fantastic in this tournament. Perhaps he might be your MVP which you can vote for on the official under 19 Fever World Cup website. Certainly been a uh star in this game. 17 points, couple of rebounds as well. Here he is, the number nine. Going really strongly in this game. Here’s Plumree. Nice spin move again by Troy Plum. Can’t get the roll off the rim. Real contest for the ball there. And Croft has it. Nice rebound from him. Pass break coming here for Slovenia. And we’ve got a whistle off the ball there. And it looks like Crate might have conceded the foul. See if we can pick it up. Right. Went flying backwards. That would be the money shot there. And here’s Schmika at the line again. Point scoring machine in this game. He’s come through the Slovenian system nicely. He was an under 16s rep three years ago and a star at the FEA under 18 basket Euro basket last year rather. That’s how Svenia had qualified for this tournament. [Applause] Finished third in that tournament meeting Israel for third place. [Applause] So,
a lot of fouls being conceded by both teams at the moment. [Music] Country
is going to take a seat on the beach for the meantime. [Music] So, fouls are going to be going to be taking some managing in this game. 27 fouls have now been conceded in this first half. As we see Lea go to the free throw line on this occasion for in the Slovenian team. He gets two from two from that visit [Music] back out to an eight-point lead. Isaac left alone on that occasion. Two more points for Tama Isaac and he hit double figures for the first time for the New Zealanders in this game. He’s got 11. Mika again. Nice roll away. He’s perfect from the free throw line in this game. Six from six. Still a seven-point lead though for Slovenia as we close in on the end of the first half. Hope you’re enjoying this game. Is sneaker. There’s about a 6second differential between the shot and the game clock to close this quarter out. Will take each time as they want to put up the shot here. Isaac having to run the clock down a bit. Here’s Isaac. It’s well defended by Slovenia. Oh, Crawl is away and he’s fouled by Crate with 2.1 left in the first quarter in the first half rather. So that play didn’t go to plan for New Zealand. Slovenia getting a fast break opportunity and Crate really no option there but to foul [Music] Crawl goes to the line here. Urban Crawl [Music] looking to stretch Leven’s lead just that little bit more before Halime [Music] we got 2.1 and looks like a timeout’s been called by Matt Lac. Yes, it has. So, a timeout now. Let’s see if they can go and have enough time. There’s Isaac and he is away. So, it’s a six-point lead for Slovenia at Halime. A really good back half to the first quarter and an entirely good second quarter for the Slovenian team. They led by seven at quarter time. Now they lead by six and New Zealand cutting that lead by one. As it turned out, it’s Slovenia leading at halftime in the third place playoff match, 52- 46. [Music] Come on. Hallelujah. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Come on. [Music] Come on. [Music] education, health, justice. We sometimes take these simple things for granted. They’re not common for all of us. We are all born on the same planet, but not with the same opportunities. Whatever our gender, color, belief, or capability, we are one. We are all on the same team. Let’s convince those who never thought they would do it that they can. We can. Together, we are stronger. [Music] No matter your origin, basketball can bring everyone together. [Music] Basketball for good. Nice work. Post entry pass. Cut to the rim. Receives it off the double team. Clear lane. Cleared for takeoff. Back into man.

And Tama Isaac, the leading scoreer for New Zealand with 14. And yep, looks like Oscar Goodman could be done for the game after that injury in the first quarter. What a shame for the All-Star tournament team member at the under 17 World Cup last year and Michigan University attendee now to injure his ankle. He looks like he’s out of the game on two points. Big blow there for New Zealand Oscar Goodman. A bright prospect, but the job is only half done and the coaches know that. Now, if you haven’t become a FE fee YouTube member, do it right now. Speaking of fun, let’s get into the second half here. [Music] Isaac for New Zealand to get the third quarter underway. Isaac again. Hayden Jones a little quiet in the game so far. Eight points and four rebounds. Quiet. That’s acceptable. Here’s Hoy. He starts the second half because Julius Halai Fenu is on three fouls. Hawo is doing a pretty good job in the absence of New Zealand 7footer. Ho boy’s up to eight points. Only four rebounds. Oh boy. Almost a sevenfooter himself. [Applause] Mica going to post up here on Tamar Isaac. Not winning the battle as Plum Tree gets the rebound. Bantry driving, driving and not scoring. Rebound taken there by Corfic [Music] [Applause] that one. Oh, that might have come off ball, but no, it’s actually going to be New Zealand ball. [Music] Yeah,
it looked like it definitely came off Jackson ball, didn’t it? Asking whether he was fouled there. Trying to get the rebound, but the replay looked pretty clear. Definitely came off him anyway. Jackson seemed like Mark Lacy New Zealand’s coach having a chat to the official there convinced his Jackson ball was pushed but his pleas are not going to be answered. [Music] Brooklet’s lost the ball out of bounds. Maybe a bit of karma there for New Zealand. [Music] [Applause] [Applause] Isaac coming forward now. And here’s Jackson ball. Still hasn’t scored in the Jackson game. Jackson ball. He’s only put up one shot as well. Scoring tough. Here’s Isaac. Tough shot for him. Can’t nail it. Rofflin. Jackson balls a heavy scoreer in the New Zealand Basketball League, but none’s going tougher in this tournament particularly in the last couple of games. Crawl shot clock down to single numbers. Three ball is good from Pava. His third three of the game. He’s got nine points, all of them threes. And Svenia’s knack of nailing three-pointers at critical times continues. struggling to get the good pass away as Paul has got 4 seconds. Plantry. Yes. Rattles it home. Troy Plumry. Good play right on the end of the 24 seconds. Stay in touch with his Slovenian team. led by six early in the game. [Music] Oh yes, nice play from Kaba. 11 points. Long arms proved very effective there for the power forward. Gruntry gave the foul away. That will be his third personal foul. So both he now and Ally Fenua are on three fouls. That brings Crate back into the game. And uh after a lot of fouls early by Slovenia, both teams have now conceded the same number of fouls. 15. Haraba keeps completes the three-point play. Jones Now Isaac four on the shot clock. [Music] Boy looking for the tip in. Not going to get it. Crawl for Slovenia to keep the pace up. And there there’s an offensive foul against the Slovenian team. And that’s going to be New Zealand possession. Armor Isaac all set there. The foul’s going to go on beat Praba and he’s going to collect his third foul. So both coaches managing high foul count from both their squads in this game. Sits down and back comes Pikovski. There’s Isaac ball for a long range three short and there is Craig getting the offensive rebound. Isaac nice little hesy at the three line and he’s fouled. Good drive to the basket there by Tama Isaac. Hopefully he’s okay. New Zealand will not want to lose their captain. Bump in the hip, didn’t he? [Music] Isaac, New Zealand’s leading scorer in this game with 14 points. Came into the game averaging 13 at 40%. New Zealand free throw shooting is definitely keeping them in the contest, [Music] keeping them within touch. can’t get to second, though. That’s the HMUS now by the New Zealand team. They’re 19 from 23 a six-point game. That’s where we were at halftime. Pikovski Lea Costski again marked closely by Crates. Another three goes down. [Music] Nine-point lead now for Slovenia, as big as has been. Isaac, it’s going to be New Zealand ball has been able to come off that Slovenian leg. [Music] 51 to 52 the score line. Outscoring the New Zealanders 96 so far in this quarter as their lead stretches to nine. biggest lead of the game. In fact, their biggest lead has been 10. In fact, as I go back through my stats here on the official FEA website for this tournament. Yeah, half court violation there by WY who’s got his first place of action in the game. Salvage that one. Josh Wally. [Music] Yeah. All the stats, profiles, all the information you could ever want on this tournament. Bieberasketball.com had you in trouble and Ali Fenor back out there on three fouls. Here comes Jackson ball for crates. Little floating teardrop from Locky Crate. Crates up to seven. The lead is back to seven. Halfway through the third quarter in this third place playoff match beating semi-finalist going at it here. Pad and the fantastic fade away in the foul there by Wy that was all class from Mark Padan. Had that one on a string. He’s got nine points in a three-point play coming up. [Music] So, Pion for 10 points and he gets it. [Applause] Back to a 10-point lead. Alai Fenua. His ball. Nice spin move from Jackson B. Can’t get the roll off the rim though. And there’s Crawl now with possession. Jackson B did all the hard work there. Kovski’s [Applause] [Music] away this time by Padian. And there’s another foul. This one’s going to go on. It’s going to go on Jackson ball. [Music] be his second foul. Padion is going to go to the line for three shots here. Unhappy game for Jackson ball so far. For three from the field, no points, four assists though, but he won’t be happy concinged that foul beyond the three-point line. Gives Svenian shooting guard three shots. lead is 12. Biggest of the game. Ball has lost to Kovich. And here comes Slovenia. Really battling at the moment. Slovenia in control now. Good all round performance from them. Springfledge. That’s good play. Five on the shot clock. I like Noah. Well, that’s great play again by Shrinka. Sinia not dying on the ball at all. Pad. He’s got a sweet jump there, hasn’t he? Mark Padan. Timeout called by Mark Lacy. He wants to hit the reset button in New Zealand coach as Slovenia stretched this lead from six to three to halftime rather to 14. Now it’s 68- 54 in favor of the Slovenian team. Come on. Come on. We got this. We’re good. We’re good. Can’t shake right now. punch shake. Okay, we got Locky on the inbound on the circle there. Okay, coming off the We got to get one in the post to start with here. Does that make sense? Okay, so we’re going to pop that. Locky, you’re the first cleaner right now. Okay, so when we get it back to Julius Locky, let’s get Hayden turn play chase angle. Great. Otherwise, let’s play the kick back to Locky. Then we’re going into the post. really really aggressive on our pin pace. Really aggressive here on the rim and we’re out. Okay, from there black 14. Okay.
Hey, we are still in this boys. Come on. 1 2 3 staying positive. Very important. He does. Don’t forget to vote on the official website. for our FEA under 19 MVP man making a good case to be the MVP of this game. Zack Schmica with 18 points. Crawl really coming hard up though. He’s on 17. He’s also grabbed eight rebounds. He’s bringing the ended game at both ends of the court. Urban Crawford number eight for Svenia. Three assists as well. Here’s Crate into Halo Fenua. He’s looking for room at the baseline there. New Zealand laid on the shot clock. Crate and now Jones and that’s going to be a counter for Hayden Jones. He goes to 10 points. First basket for a while there for Jones. He’s been New Zealand’s leading scorer of this tournament. [Music] It’s going to be a big ask for New Zealand to come back into this game. Now Jones doesn’t complete the three-point play. Leaders still 12 for Slovenia. 330 to play in this third quarter. Had little steal there was good. Here’s Isaac with the ball. [Applause] Isaac and downs it to Jones Isaac Halai Feno that tightly there by the Pino junior Halai Feno winning the day there and he’s up to eight points. [Music] New Zealand need stops in these last three minutes. So really want to continue this very efficient play. They’ve been able to fashion Shria. Oh, he’s called for a turnover and it’s going to be New Zealand ball. [Music] dragging of the foot there before he lift the shot up. So, it’s called for traveling. Jones opens up for Hayden Jones and he takes advantage. And now we’re going to get a timeout from the Slovenian e coach Danielle Ratalovic as New Zealand count that lead back to single digits. A couple of good buckets there from Hayden Jones. She’s on 12 points now. It’s 68 to 60 [Applause] father. [Applause] It’s going to be the rest of the song. [Applause] Let’s feel the energy in that Slovenian Cam, can’t you? The positive energy. They’ve worked really well to come back into the game after a rough start to the match where they were down by six. Once they put their hard hats on and went to work, they have really fashioned together a very solid performance. Still a long way to go in this game and anything can happen in these last two minutes and 38 seconds of this third quarter and then of course heading into the final quarter. The prize for the winner here of third placing at this tournament. Don’t forget about the final of course. Make sure you tune in pretty much straight after this game finishes. We’ll be into that. The leadup to the Germany United States final. New Zealand get a stop. Hayden Jones. Halai Feno again. Fancy his chances here against Menach. Double teamed. Nice gather there as Tama Isaac. Not an easy get there for Tama Isaac. did brilliantly to control the catch and then ensure he would bow. So Isaac at the line now New Zealand are 19 from 24 just under 80%. At the free throw line in this game and Svenia going great too. 18 from 22 is their stat. That’s 81.8% 8% [Music] two from two there for Tama Isaac. He goes to 17 points and that lead which was 14 in this quarter is now back to six. So that’s where we started the quarter. So both teams scoring 14 points now in this third quarter. Minich kicks it back out to Chipela. Crawl. Five on the shot clock. Crawl being a superstar in this game. Nice pass to Menach who completes with a basket. Nice job from Menich’s first field goal of the game. Well played by Slovenia using all 24 seconds too pretty much. Halai Fenua Hayden Jones again. Masters back out there now. Where’s Halai Fenua? Get on to him super fast, don’t they? Is Hal Fenu going to work again? Fantastic move there from Halai Fenua. [Music] He’s got all the credentials to be an excellent basketball player. He’s 19. He’s 7 foot. He’s got athleticism and speed. and he’s at a great university in the United States, Georgetown where he played six games this season in his freshman year. Fenua at the line here for a three-point play. He doesn’t complete and now Crawford has got it for Svenia. Oh, stolen. Well read there by Lachlan Crate. Now Masters on the break. Can’t lay it in. No foul either. And now Slovenia have got a two-man advantage. Yes, Mika. [Music] Oh, the three ball is good from Zakovic. Oh, that ended up being a big momentum shift there for Slovenia. Isaac’s away with the three. Strena has got the rebound. So, Slovenia have the chance now to just end this third quarter with some authority. Crawl and nice finish from Plutini on a nice run to end the quarter here. 5-0 run. So New Zealand now with 8 seconds left to get something more out of this quarter to cut this deficit. Isaac, he’s lost it, has he? James Jones for three and he shorts at the nine point and in fact it’s an 11point advantage for Slovenia heading into the last. Very good quarter for Slovenia particularly the last minute. Everything going right for them including that play right there from Plute. helped himself to his first two points in the game.
75-64 at the end of the third. Go. [Music] A [Music] good [Music] Thank you. Not looking good for New Zealand with one quarter to play. I’ll tell you that for nothing. 75 to 64. There are the leading scorers in the game. Schmerima with 18. Crawford to 17. He’s also added 11 rebounds. So he’s notched up a double double with 13 points. And the leading scorer is Tamar Isac for New Zealand. The final quarter underway here. Hope you’re enjoying the third and fourth place last game as these teams fight it out. So you have the advantage. A good advantage for them. They’re up by 11. Take a big effort from New Zealand to come back into this contest now. Pakovski. They just lost that stone cold out of court. So New Zealand are going to need stops like that and plenty of them down the stretch of this game. [Music] Radius Slavic has got to be happy with his team though so far. Here’s Jones. Nice play from Hayden Jones. Two more for him. [Music] 14 for him in the game. He’s got to get super hot in this last quarter for New Zealand to fight their way back. [Applause] That’s a nice finish there from Leon Kovich. [Music] Kovich is going to be called for that foul on Tama Isaac. Kovich with that last basket has eight points. Fullourt pressure. We haven’t really seen either team play press hard in this game defensively at any stage until that point right there Isaac. Great follow up by Julius Halai Feno who was fouled. Wow. Super effort there from the big Kiwi and Hal Fenor up to 13 now. Three-point play for Julius Hollow for nice indeed. Occasion he is good. Eight-point game. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and it’s at nextgen hoops. Join the party folks as we see Padet Tosski. Rebound by Carter Hboy for New Zealand. He’s got six boards now. Go with his eight points. Alai Feno rolling off the pass from Isaac. Here’s Hayden Jones. Little play from Phil Kovich was a good one. Jones was on his way to a play of authority there will still keep possession all by flute post up nice pass and the fake little hesitation from Jones with a gym 16 points now he’s doing it on his own at the moment. New Zealand back to a six-point def and a turnover by Slovenia. New Zealand starting this final quarter just they needed to there and there’s a reach in foul. Looks like Fluke might have conceded that one. [Applause] [Music] There’s a little reach in foul. [Music] Zack suggesting to the referees that that wasn’t a fly the ball, but it certainly looked like it. So going to be an unfortunate foul. Wasn’t a shooting foul either. Use Jackson ball to win bounder. Isaac with the ball. Can really shoot the ball, but he’s fouled in this game. He’s got to get any points. And there’s Halo Fenol getting fouled again. He is drawing plenty of attention from the Slovenians to start this this final quarter. And New Zealand doing a very good job of getting him the ball in the low post. 13 points, four blocks, three rebounds for Halai Feno. [Music] [Applause] Few Kiwi fans in the stands here in Loausan Arena. Hoping their team can fight back here. [Music] Alai Fenua gets two from two from that visit. New up the lead before it was 11 at 3/4 time. Done a fantastic job coming back in these first couple of minutes of the fourth. Mika [Music] can’t get the fade away. Jones has got the rebound. Another stop for New Zealand. There’s boy looking for position again in that low post. He needs help. Jones five on the shot clock. Up the D2. Hayden Jones. Jackson B trying to fly in now. He’s got the rebound. He’s got the ball here. It’s going to go to Stavinia. [Applause] [Music] Jackson B youngest player in the New Zealand team. Only turned 17 in March. Slia [Applause] stop. Oh, they needed to grind that out. Here’s Smeaker once again. Oh, blocked from behind by Halua. Now Isaac Carter Hawboy Johnny on the slot. That was a close call for the New Zealand team. [Music] He only scored three points, two points really rather in this fourth quarter so far. All points for three can’t get position for the rebound and Corvic did well and now got a block and foul against New Zealand and it’s going to go against Tama Isaac who conceds his third foul. [Music] So, Slovenia being outscored in this quarter by nine-2 so far. That was Tom Isaac’s second foul. So, playing on three fouls for a while. Troy Plum Plum Tree rather on three fouls as well. [Music] Pluto is on four fouls. Miners fouled out on three points. Couple of big couple of bigs there in the foul trouble. One of them already fouled out for Slovenia. Few out there on four fells. He going to have to go quite small if he fells out. Still six minutes to play. Here’s Halai Fenua. Isaac with five on the shot clock. Jones for three. can’t nail it. And there’s a good stop. That’s two very good stops now to Slovenia in the last two possessions that New Zealand have had. Ratcheting it up their defense against Mika and he’s fouled by it looks like Julius Halai Fenua. Yes, it is. That’s his fourth foul. [Music] [Applause] Fenua now on four fouls. That’ll be an interesting decision now with Matt Lacy, the coach of the New Zealand team to see if he continues with Har with 535 to play. Timeout call. Score remains 77- 73 as we head down the stretch of the third and fourth place playoff game. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Well, it’s been a pretty gutsy effort by this New Zealand team without one of their star players for pretty much all of the game, Oscar Goodman, who injured that ankle in the first quarter and 34 seconds. Excellent crowd building up here too. You’ve got to say for not only the conclusion of this game but the final coming up between the United States and Germany. But we’ve got some drama to come in this game I feel. 535 left is 11-point lead at 3/4 time. Cut to four by this New Zealand team. Tama Isaac with 17. Halapenu with 15. Jones with 16. Shria had 18 in the first half. Hasn’t added to his tally though in the second half. Urban Crawl on 17 points and 12 rebounds. And this is Zack Tika at the line. He still hasn’t scored since halftime. [Music] And he misses both free throws. Wow. Defense now the order of the day for Slovenia. The defense in the last two plays has been very good. Can it continue? Here’s Jones. New Zealand now struggling to get the ball in off the court. And there’s another stop by Slovenia Plantry missing the three. Carter Hall back out there now. Halai Feno sitting down on four fouls. I suspect it’ll be too long before Matt Lacy gets him back in there. Flute, nice job. Out to a six-point lead. Flute up to four points. He’s playing on four fouls. His coach is rolling the dice. Here’s Hayden Jones. Poy [Music] luring the foul out of the Slovenian number nine and Shria goes to four fouls now. Might be his third. We’re just waiting for the stat sheets to click over there. In fact, that is his third foul. So Carter Hawboy at the line for New Zealand. New Zealand at 25 from 31. And Hawboy is perfect. Eight from eight now [Applause] [Music] again from Hawk Boy. New Zealand very good down the stretch in these games at this tournament. A lot of composure and they’re not done yet. Free ball from Faba. Oh, so good from the three-point line in this game. Four from five. Big basket there for Levvenia. They are 56% from the three-point line in this game. New Zealand at 20%. There’s great finishing off a nice pass from Jones. Big difference in the outside shooting stats in this game. Arguably a reason, a major reason why Slovenia are in the lead inside the last four minutes. Faba, is he going to line up another one here? Oh, he does. And he’s buried it again. Woo! Yes, Monkhard. Great. He’s fouled. There’s going to be a foul against Shinka or Plut. Let’s see who’s that one. That one’s going to be on. [Music] It’s going on. So now he does go to four fouls. There it is. There. Fluke looks around nervously cuz he’s playing on four fouls. Craig to the free throw line. Julius Halai Fenoic back in for New Zealand on four fouls. Good call by coach Matt Lacy. now or never. He’s crate. It’s the second of four. He’s got 10 points. [Music] Seven-point game. Padin three ball goes up short this time. Rebound by Halai Fenua. And now here’s Isaac back out on court to run the show. Great. Over to Isaac. Oh, Fenoy. Nice kick out pass to Isaac. Don’t. No foul, says the referee. It’s been turned over. Got it. There’s Crawl. [Music] Don’t forget to vote for the MVP of this tournament on the Fever Under9 World Cup website. Certainly some fantastic players at this tournament. Raba misses one. Finally misses one. Still got a seven-point game. Isaac, here’s Jones for three. He’s away. And now Crawford now can a bit early to manage the game but certainly soak up the 24 seconds. [Applause] That’s some off the ball action there. [Applause] I look like Fluke is out of the game. four foul. She’s going to just sub out. Checking back in. Here is Padin and Ana comes back in as well. 223 to play. Jackson ball back into the game for New Zealand as well. And it’s been lost by Slovenia out of court. A little play here from Tom Isaac for New Zealand. Here he comes. Isaac. Oh boy. Nowacai needs some action. Oh, an illegal screen. Farmer Isaac’s been called for the foul. [Music] That’s a blow for New Zealand [Music] with 208 to play. [Applause] On the edge of their seats, they’re getting close to this third place finish at this tournament. Here [Applause] comes Crawl. Urban Crawford a great job in the in this game. 17 points and 13 rebounds. Shrieka. The put back is no good from Lea. And we got here a foul by a pushing foul there. on I think Lea has been called number 13. Yes, it is. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Quite see it there on the replay. Lea was just uh pushed initially before the rebound came down. So New Zealand of course in the bonus now. So free throws becoming critical to their chances inside the last two minutes. [Music] [Applause] Free throw is falling to Locky Crate. He’s two from six from the free throw line in this game. He’s well short. [Applause] Well, that’s worked out well for Slovenia and they can manage this game with 147 to play. Use up as much of these 24 seconds as they can make it more difficult for New Zealand to come back into this contest. Corlich Praba four on the shot clock. Corlich putting up the three away and New Zealand have got it through Hawboy. Now they need a quick basket. Jackson ball great gives it back to Ball and the Halai Fenor in the post double team straight away and he’s fouled there [Music] is going to go to the line to shoot two. Another foul is conceded by the Slovenian team. might have picked up another foul. He’s on three now [Music] [Applause] free throw shooting has just let them down in this fourth quarter. There’s Oscar Goodman. You got to feel for him. Injured ankle after 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Gut-wrenching for him. One of the star players in this New Zealand team not being able to contribute in this game. Hello Fenua succeeds with his second free throw. It’s a six-point game with a minute and 10 left. [Applause] Paul looking to put pressure on Crawl who’s just holding possession, soaking up time on that game clock. Coritch it in for two. Nice job by Crawl. Good layup. He’s the leading scorer in the game now for 19 points, 14 rebounds, six assists. Fantastic game from him. What about that? I think that was Cor with the block as well. He’s got three blocks in the game as well. Superstars, but Kapon out there as Slovenia close in here on victory and third place at this tournament. [Applause] Up he goes Crawl. Big play there. He has led from the front. Barber at the free throw line here [Applause] and Slovenia big match he’s rabba get the free throw and it’s a timeout called by Matt Lacy the New Zealand coach. [Music] 89-79 has been a brave effort by New Zealand, but with only 35.6 left, you’ve got to hand it to the Slovenian team who’ve navigated their way through this match very well. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Just under the air there. seed tournament average. Three-point shooting’s been a concern though in the game. Just three three-pointers in the game. So many have 11. They’re shooting the ball at 50% from beyond the ark. [Music] New Zealand’s bid to win third place for the first time at a fever tournament. Looks like he’s going to come up short for the third prime now following their third fourth place finish at the 2002 World Champs in India and the fourth place finish and they lost to Turkey at last year’s feaunder 17 world cup. Still a great effort achievement by New Zealand to reach the final four of this tournament. Good boy. Giving it to Jones. Nice finish from Jones there. All pressure played by New Zealand and it’s been turned over by Hoy. Hello Fenua Jones looking for that three-point play. He’s been given the two points there by Squib. You know, [Music] hang on. Isn’t there a pushing foul there by Crawl? There is. It’s going to be a three-point play. Hayden Jones. Not much contact there by Crawl, but just enough. Referee was right there. 19.5 to play. [Music] Not giving up without a fight here. Jones at the line for the three-point play. He’s got 21 points. He’s the leading scorer in the game. Jackson ball comes out. Lock and crate comes back in. [Music] Jones completes the three-point play with 19.5 to play. It’s a five-point advantage again. 30 the 30 35 second mark. Quickly things can change in basketball. At the 35second mark, Hara hit a second free throw. It was a 10-point game to Slovenia, but New Zealand have scored five points in the last 11 seconds. And Hayden Jones has got all of them. It’s why coach Danielle Braovic has called this time out. He just wants to ensure his team finishes strong here and doesn’t give this New Zealand team a snip of been searching for for a long time. So, good call there by the Lebanonian coach. [Music] [Applause] So, New Zealand will continue this aggressive play, I’m sure. Nervous times here for Slovenian fans. 19.5 to play. Nicely done. Oh, almost stolen by Crate and Schmeika. It’s a jump ball. Wow. [Music] 11.6 to play. [Music] [Applause] Called that a jump ball. [Music] New Zealand get the ball with 11.6 to play. Another quick basket required by them. Here’s Isaac. 8 seconds to play. Isaac’s got to Someone’s got to put up the shot super fast. Jack Jackson ball. No, Isaac. Isa in. No way. 1.1 to play. Tar Isaac a miracle basket and the game is back to a two-point game with 1.1 left. [Music] played hard by New Zealand to stick with this contest. Tom or Isaac take a bow. Well, the shot and game clock’s been reset to 1.5. It’s extraordinary. 30 seconds at the 30 second mark. 31 second mark. It was Slovenia up by 10. Well, New Zealand’s tactics are going to be interesting here. They are going to need a bounce pretty much straight away and hope that the 1.5 seconds is not used up. Fascinating finish. [Music] Yes. 31.5 seconds left. It was 897 35 seconds left. 8979. Wow. What a comeback. Right. Let’s see what happens here. No timeouts left for either team. Slovenia should still get this done. Remarkable if they don’t. Looking to inbound it. There’s the play and the foul by Hayden Jones with point8 left. Both teams in the bonus and Schmeika is at the line. [Applause] Missed his last two free throws. Hayden Jones with that foul. He’s fouled out with 21 points, seven rebounds. Now, Zack Sinker at the line here. Gets these two free throws. It’s definitely all over. There’s one of them. His first point in the second half right there. He got 18 in the second in the first half. So Slovenia for the win here. Zack Rinka [Music] and he’s got it. Slovenia up by four with point8 left. That should steal third and it has Slovenia. They’ve got third place at the under9 Fever World Cup. [Applause] New Zealand will finish in fourth. Tight finish to that game, but Slovenia, nice job. An absolute joyous scene for them as you’d expect. Got a bit tight down the stretch of that game for them. New Zealand closed that 11-point gap all the way back. But in the end, it is victory for the European nation 91 to 87. Schmeika and Kabaka finished with 20 points. Crawl though surely he was the MVP of the game. 19 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, three blocks. What a game by the number eight for Slovenian. Don’t forget if you want to vote for him or any of these players as the tournament MVP, go to the official Fever Basketball Under 19 World Cup website and cast your votes today. For New Zealand, well, it was Hayden Jones with 21 points. Tama Isaac got the effort from him with 20 points. Carter Hawkboy and Lock Craig finished in double digits as well. Got a hand. We got a filth though for Oscar Goodman, one of the star players for New Zealand, injured in the first quarter with an ankle. [Applause] So, Slovenia pick up third, finish the tournament with four wins and three losses. Same record as New Zealand. Slovenia win the match to get third place. And what about that emotion shown there by Daniel Ratisovich, the coach of Slovenia. Oh, means so much. [Music] [Applause] Fantastic scenes. Means so much for him and his players and the families and fans of this nation. [Music] To see Clichz in the in the stands as well. What a performer he was and what a performance from all of the 12 players that got caught time apart from one player Mark tosh is the only player who couldn’t get on court. Leon Ivichic also couldn’t get on court actually to the second of the Slovenian players but Radius the coach fantastic scene. So there we are folks we’ll wrap it up there 91 to 87.
