Toronto Raptors SIGN Sandro Mamukelashvili to a 2-YR $5.5M Deal!
What up? It’s your boy Wall Street and I’m back with some more NBA news for you. And I’m going struggle to pronounce this dude’s name, but the Toronto Raptors are signing Sandro Mamuk Lashilli. Mamu Kel Oavilli, I think is how you say it. If I didn’t say it right, let me know. Let me know. I probably didn’t say it right. But they’re signing Sandro, I’m going to call him Mamu. They’re signing Mamu to a two-year deal worth $5.5 million. Um, and he comes over from the San Antonio Spurs. Uh, he was a second round pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers. Was the 54th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft. Um, and he had some college basketball experience over at Satan Hall. So, he’s a 6’11, 240lb center/p power forward. He can do a lot of things on the court. Um, he can he can shoot the three. He can rebound, he can defend. Um, this is a guy that has a lot of potential in my opinion. He’s 25 years old or sorry, he’s 26 years old, just turned 26 in May, and he spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks. He spent time with the San Antonio Spurs. Now, he goes to Toronto. He actually had a extremely impressive game um this past season where he scored 34 points in under 20 minutes. He played 19 minutes and he scored 34 points on 13 of 14 shooting, seven of seven from three-point range and had nine rebounds as well. So that’s that’s crazy. This was on March 19th. Absolutely crazy. So, I think it goes to it goes without saying that like any NBA player can light a team up on any given night, right? Like these guys are in the NBA for a reason. Even even if they average one point a game, they can cook you. Like NBA players are no joke. Especially the dudes that are 6′ 11 doing this type of stuff, right? So, I think this is a good signing for Toronto. It gives them a little bit more size and depth in the front court. Um, you know, obviously Scotty Barnes is going to get the majority of the time at the at the forward slot. You got RJ Barrett at the three. You got Brandon Ingram who’s probably going to get pushed down to shooting guard, right? He’s like a 6’9 shooting guard, which is going to be an incredible mismatch for anyone that’s trying to guard him. And then you got Emanuel Quickley at the one. And then you got Jakob Potal who just signed a big extension with the Raptors um at the five. So, they have Jonathan Mbo who’s probably also going to get some playing time. Mamu might get some more playing time over Mbo. I don’t know. They also just drafted Colin Murray Boils. Um, he’s probably going to see time at both the four and the three slot. So, we’ll see. This team has got a lot of talent in my opinion. And you know, I think Kendrick Perkins made a statement on ESPN, I think during the draft about how there’s no excuse for the Raptors to not be a top six seed this coming season. And I mean, on paper, I agree with him. I mean, this team is very, very competent in the level of talent that they bring to the table. So, I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him in the playoffs, especially with how wide open the Eastern Conference is going to be going into next season with the injuries to Tatum Hallebert. And you have Damen Lillard who might not even be in the conference, you know, while he’s recovering from his Achilles injury. He was just waved by the Milwaukee Bucks. Still questioning that move. Really don’t understand it, but oh well. Um, so I don’t know. I think this I think Sandro going over to the Raptors is a good move. I hope he gets some good playing time. I’ve seen him play uh live actually and he’s he’s an incredible player. He’s got a lot of good attributes about him. He’s got great footwork. He moves very well with the ball. He moves pretty well without the ball as well. Good rebounder and, you know, all around, you know, good shooter as well. He takes threes and makes them as well. So, um that’s all I got for you guys. He is only 26 years old and still has plenty of room to grow, so this could turn out to be a very useful signing for the Raptors.
