🚨Bill Simmons DESTROYS The Chicago Bulls Front Office & Ownership | Bulls News

[Music] Yo, what’s going on everybody? Welcome into the Bulls Report. My name is Patrick Seatman and coming up on today’s show, I wanted to break down what Bill Simmons and Ryan Rascilo had to say about the Chicago Bulls and the overall direction this franchise is heading after another lackluster off season. But with the Bulls, it all starts at the top. It starts with Jerry Rydorf. And if you guys want Jerry Ryanorf to sell the Chicago Bulls, go down there and hit that thumbs up icon. I put today’s goal as 500 likes, I got to assume there’s at least 500 people watching right now that want Jerry Ryan to sell the Bulls. So, if that’s you, go down there and hit that thumbs up icon. All right, so let’s talk about it. So, Bill Simmons and Ryan Rascil were going over the worst teams in each conference in terms of their ability to win a championship over the next five seasons. And funny enough, the Chicago Bulls were number one on Bill Simmons’s list. Now, let’s just see what he has to say first, and I’ll give you guys my thoughts. This is coming in from Bill. My number one was Chicago. Here’s why. I don’t love a single guy on their roster. Maybe Bzelis. Is he going to make an AllNBA team? I don’t know. They have $85 million in expiring contracts this season. So, you would think, look out for the Bulls in 2026. They just have never been that team. They haven’t paid the luxury tax in forever. It’s a small market, big market team. Love that line right there. I didn’t like their first round pick from this year. I don’t know why they didn’t make the Derek Queen trade. Move back 11 spots and get New Orleans’s first round pick. And I will say this, if there is a report that comes out that says the Bulls at pick number 12 said no to the New Orleans Pelicans trying to trade up from 23 and attaching a 2026 unprotected first round pick and the Bulls said no to that because they love his Senate too uh so much. I will stop being a fan. That trade that the Atlanta Hawks pulled off where they moved from 13 to 23 with the Pelicans and got their unprotected first is one of the biggest police jobs we have ever seen in NBA history. The Western Conference is absolutely loaded next season. I don’t care if you think the Pelicans are going to overexce expectations and maybe win 35 games, that’s still going to be a potential top 10 pick. And if the Pelicans were willing to move up to 13, I’m sure they’re willing to move up to 12. Now, who knows with the protections on that deal. Maybe the Pelicans offered like top four, top eight protected, but even then, if it’s top eight protected, I’m still taking that deal. The Bulls would have had to have loved as so so much for them just to turn down that deal. Now, we have no reports on that right now, but you got to assume if they were calling Atlanta desperately to move up to 13, I’m sure they thought the Bulls were going to possibly take their queen at 12, I’m sure they offered that same exact deal. So, if they said no to that, I mean, it would be on brand for this Bulls front office. But seriously, if we get confirmation on that, it would be tough for me to support and just be a fan of this basketball team. And, you know, the part uh Bill Simmons was mentioning saying, you know, the only guy I like on their roster is Modis Buzzo. I completely agree with that. Like, you guys know me, I’m a huge I Dumu fan. I think he is one of the better two-way bench startingish guards in the NBA as it stands right now. he could be a great fifth or sixth option on a, you know, championship team. But even Josh Giddy, like really only saw him play good basketball for the last 19 games of the season. That’s a small sample size. Now, I think Giddy can still develop, develop that three-point shot, become a better defender, and potentially be a top 50-ish guy in the NBA. But really, the only unknown and only exciting part of this Bulls team is Bzelis. But Bill Simmons was also talking about Kobe White, saying Kobe White is about to be a free agent. That next contract scares me. I just don’t know what this team is. If I am a Bulls fan, what should I get excited about? I don’t think free agents will be like, “Yeah, I want to go to Chicago.” And I’ve been kind of flirting with this take off season saying, “Should the Bulls trade Kobe White?” I think they should, but as it stands right now, they absolutely need to trade Kobe White. And this just comes down to Kobe is on a one-year expiring deal for $12 million. he is going to go make 25 27ish million dollars during his next contract. Are the Bulls going to pay him? I don’t think so. And if the Bulls are seriously going to pay Josh Giddy around 27 million and then Kobe White around 27 million for the next three to four years, you’re going to have 5560 million caught up between those two guys. You just can’t do that. So move off him right now. This is another prime example of when the Bulls were shopping Lonzo Ball at the trade deadline, decided not to trade him. Then you traded him this off seasonason for only Isaac Kakoro. That offer you got was worse than what you had on the table at the deadline. Even goes back to Zack Lovine, Demar De Rozan. That’s why the deals they got for both those guys. We’re looking around being like, “How did the Bulls not get a first round pick for any of those players?” It’s because they were an off season or a year too late. So, I’m staying with Kobe White. I think he’s a tremendous basketball player, great three-level score, but I can’t see the Bulls wanting to pay him after this season. that massive number he’s going to get, might as well trade him now. You could get a first or maybe two first round picks for him from a contending team. Why not make that move right now? I have no idea what the Bulls would do, but I would move off Kobe White ASAP. Understand he’s a fan favorite, but we got to start looking at the future of this franchise and how do you get yourself out of purgatory? Maybe need to trade one of your good players, get future draft capital, but we’ll wait and see what happens. But should the Bulls trade Kobe White, what say you? Let me know your thoughts down below. Give me a T for trade or give me a P for pass. So, I wanted to join uh Bill and Ryan Rilo on this experiment. Just go worst situations in the Eastern Conference over the next five seasons. And I think the Bulls are the worst situation. You know, you’re really un like one unknown piece is Bzelis where yes, if he pops and he ends up being, you know, a second team allNBA guy, like maybe the Bulls roster isn’t that bad, but that’s a huge question mark. I got the Toronto Raptors at number two. I don’t know what the hell they are doing. And you know, obviously I think Toronto probably has the most skilled team out of all five of these teams, but you got a lot of money in Quickley, Barrett, Barnes, uh, Purle, like you put a ton of money into like a strong five. Even Brandon Ingram now making $40 million, which if you look back at that, he probably would have signed for 30 million this off seasonason, but you gave him 40. They’re just going to be stuck in no man’s land. They’re going to be stuck in NBA purgatory. Then the Brooklyn Nets, not a single player on that team that really, you know, intrigues me. Charlotte Hornets, still the Charlotte Hornets, even though I like their young core now of Canpo, LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller. You got some guys you could build around. Then I put the Wizards at five. Even though I kind of like what the Wizards are doing. I like Sar. I like Bub Carrington. You You’re able to get um Jeremiah Fear or not Fears, uh Trey Johnson. Big fan of that pickup. Then you just trade two second round picks for a guy like Cam Whitmore. Well, I think Cam Whitmore could just be another Benedict Matan where he comes off the bench, maybe gets you a splash, 20 points, you know, very up and down player, but I think the Bulls like they’re so far away from competing for an NBA championship. It is really deflating as a fan. But Ryan Rasillo, this is what he had to say on the Bulls saying this playin stretch where they just lose to Miami everywhere uh every year. This is the same thing over and over again. I think the giddy trade wound up being good for them. Is there some unknown that is exciting? At least Boozellis is in that category. And I am just praying Bulls and front office and players just anything but to play in next season. I would rather have this Bulls team win five games and just take your chance in lottery. Even if it doesn’t work out and you get screwed in lottery and you get the fifth or sixth pick, at least you still have a top six pick. Or just, you know, maybe they shock the world and make the playoffs. But anything but the play next season. That’s all I want. Um, and mainly cuz I don’t want Jerry to get that extra home game, especially if you’re hosting the first one in the playing tournament. So, anything but the plan next season will definitely excite me. And, you know, there’s no doubt the Bulls are definitely also banking on Buzzel. And they have talked about, you know, finding that guy. And I think they view Buzzel as that guy. And I’m the biggest Buzzel guy you will hear. I think he is going to be awesome. I think he could potentially be an AllNBA guy, but can he be a true first option on a championship team? Again, a massive question mark for a guy who only played 18 minutes a game this past season. But the Bulls are clearly putting a lot of faith, a lot of resources into this guy. And you know, when uh S and Lachland when they were touring the Bulls facility, it wasn’t Giddy, it wasn’t Kobe, wasn’t Vu or Patrick Williams, one of these guys that were helping them tour the facilities, it was Modis Bisellis. I think they view him as the face of the franchise. So, we’ll wait and see what happens there. All right, so Simmons, he was just talking about the Bulls as a whole. um this little monologue he went on and he said, “The Bulls have been a criminally misused asset since Jordan left. Instead of going for the seventh title, they decided to rebuild and try to outsmart everybody. Nothing good is going to happen with these owners. I think it can be a really special franchise.” And you know, I agree with that. Like if a new ownership group stepped in and bought the Chicago Bulls, like you’re sitting on a massive massive franchise and fan base where if you do get, you know, the fans, you know, cuz they still sell at the United Center every single game. They are still one of the most diehard fan bases in the whole NBA. But if you actually gave them a team that you can root for and where fans were like watching every single game hoping we see development from maybe a young guy or maybe they’re just trying to compete for championships. Some ownership group needs to come and save the Bulls like this team should be worth 8 n 10 billion dollars but it’s not. And that’s because of the Ryanorf and I think and Ryanorf and I think it comes down to this. The fans need to send a message at some point and whether that’s stop buying jerseys, stop going to games, like how awesome would it be opening night next year and it’s like 50% attendance and just nobody’s in the arena and it’s there’s signs of sell the team. There’s people, you know, getting upset. Like that’s a way you could send a message to the front office because Bulls still have some of the highest attendance in the league. People love going to Bulls games. I understand it. They’re a lot of fun. But I’m just sick and tired of being in the purgatory where us Bulls fans and the whole city of Chicago deserves better. This is a basketball city through and through. And you know, high school hoops is great. Even some college hoops are great. Like UFI being better. Um you know, Lyola Chicago going on their runs. Like this is a great basketball city. So the fans, you guys need to send a message. Stop going to the game. Stop buying jerseys. Whatever you need to do. There’s just got to be change here for the Chicago Bulls. But if you guys want Jerry Ryanorf to sell the bulls, give me a me down below in the comment section.
