Yves Missi on adding strength, playing w/ Derik Queen | 2025 NBA Summer League

Uh a lot of workouts, uh a lot of learning obviously and obviously coming here for the training camp for ceremony is pretty good too. You look like you put on a little weight. Uh have you? Yeah, a little bit. A little bit working on my strength. Obviously getting a little bigger, not being pushed around. So that’s the goal for the entire summer basically. What did you learn maybe in that first year in the NBA that told you, okay, one of the first things I need to work on is getting bigger and like getting stronger. I mean the league is more physical every year. So we have guys that like 250 and above mostly center. So I can get up there. Obviously don’t mess around with my athleticism and obviously uh trying to guard these guys every night. So that’s the main thing for me to do. Ev looking forward to going to Vegas again. Yeah, truly fun. What do you want what do you want to kind of accomplish out there? Uh just out there go out there and compete mostly win some games compared to last year. Uh obviously trying to play here with my new team. So this will be fun. What have been your impression of the new guys especially Jeremiah and and D? Great I mean great players obviously uh DQ someone who can play almost everywhere. Uh great IQ. Jeremiah about the same thing. Great point guard. He can read the balls pretty easily. So it’s great playing with them. DQ comes off as a very confident player. Does he show that on the court? Is he talking trash like during practice and stuff like that as well? I mean obviously he’s talking and that’s good. I mean we all like this stuff. So just uh being competitive obviously that’s what you love here. So that’s good. I like it. Are you looking forward to playing with him in terms of being able to play off of him with some of his passing? Yeah, obviously uh we trying some stuff obviously for the summer day when we were playing around and then just play he and I on the court and then see how it looks like. I like it so far. How do you uh see you all complimenting off each other’s game in that queen? Uh I would say on defense I can see because he bring his size. So on the rebounding side he’s better. Now guys have to worry about him and I and obviously in the offense he can play make for everyone not only me and I can just play off him game guys attracted to around him and then just play that and we and you being obviously a rookie center last year and coming into this league as a rookie like what’s maybe your biggest advice to him like what are you trying to tell him about maybe the adjustment for summer league and then for like NBA game? I would say just be hard. We all going to make mistake just be hard. Uh try to cover your mistake by playing hard. It don’t matter at the end of the day just basketball. So he going to make some mistake. I’m going to make some mistake. Keep going. And then I’ll eat on the defensive for defensive side. Do you think we might see some four five pick and roll with Queen running this ball handler? You as the ro man. You might see. You never know. Maybe happen. You’ve also been uh producing some vlog content for your for your YouTube channel. Just like what like walk us through like what your idea is behind like what you’re trying to share with with the people. Well, most of it in French, so I don’t know how you understand it, but you know. Translate. No, it’s more for the people in Cameon. Obviously, they always asking me stuff about how everything is looking like and obviously there’s a lot of NBA players in Cameon. So, just be able to show the aspect of my of my life in general is good for them. What do you uh what are your impressions of the ball handling that Fears and Queen both have? It seems like they’re pretty both both pretty elite at that. Oh, yeah. They’re great ball handler. Obviously, I can play all that and uh he’s making stuff easier for me and everyone else to be honest. on the court. What was the biggest thing that you wanted to improve this offseason? Like I said, get bigger and then my finishing. I feel sometime I just got to finish a little more. It’s not something not something I can normally do. I just got to be focused a little more. So I would definitely for when you look back at your life this time a year ago like how much has have things just changed? Not just basketball, just life in general. Uh life in I mean a lot uh on and off the court obviously. Uh on the court a lot of team you can see a lot of chance. So either teammates, uh, front office, everyone. So just, um, try to get to know everyone and then obviously go from there and try to get better.
