Corey Brewer on Micah Peavy, Yves Missi | 2025 NBA Summer League

It was good. Um, know got to play a little bit more. Got to see the young guys, see what they got. Um, feel like it was really good. We didn’t ask you much about Michael Py yesterday. What have been your impression of him, especially on Mike is a really good defender. You know, you can tell that he loves play defense and he plays hard. So, for us around here, that’s breath of fresh air. So, we’re happy to have him. You mentioned him playing hard. I guess what else stands about stands out about his defensive abilities that you’ve seen on the court and that you’ve seen in film. And how much do you feel like that gives him a chance to have a longl lasting career here in the NBA? He can guard multiple positions. He basically can guard one through four. And then when you got the size he has, that’s good. And he wants to play defense. Sometimes, you know, playing defense ain’t about how good you are. It’s about the want. And kid wants to play defense. You going to play a long time if you want to play defense. Trust me, you can learn to play a little offense. It’s hard. It’s hard sometimes for guys to learn to play defense. From a from like a broad standpoint, you guys have three draft picks on this roster and I think you have four players that played on the team last year. Um, how does that affect the way you coach this? I mean, is it challenging because you have so many guys that you know you want to get in get minutes to or is it just more exciting because you have so many players that are It’s more exciting. I got players I got a lot of dudes that can play and the best players are going to play. Like I’ve been around a long time. I’ve been in the same situation they’ve been in both draft pick fighting for my job like so you play hard you get to play if you ain’t playing the right way doing the right thing sit over here with me a lot of the players have mentioned uh Queen’s ability to playmate you think you might see some four or five pick and roll with him and and Eve oh yeah you going to see Queen do a lot of things hey man he’s a playmaker he can play multiple positions and of course him and E four five pick and roll you’ll see that Michael just talked about the sets they played in college and how he’s not afraid to, you know, go at it up in summer league. Have you noticed that so far? Like his comfortability and what y’all are trying to do? He said Micah. Oh, yeah. Micah’s out there. He’s aggressive, playing hard. Like he’s been a defender that he said he is. He told me he said, “I like to defend and he’s showing he likes to defend.” So, he’s been great for me. Mei is someone that when you see him, it looks like he put on weight. Like how much do you feel like especially with the rookie that he had being bigger, being stronger can only help him going forward in the belief? It’s going to help him a lot. But the main thing that’s helping Eve right now, he’s confident. You know, a lot of times, you know, you can put on weight, you can do different things, but confidence is very important in basketball and he’s very confident right now. And so I’m happy with Eve. How much have you seen his confidence grow like when he got here last year around this time to now? Uh when he got here, he didn’t know if he was he didn’t know what he was. He was just happy to be here. Now he’s like he knows he deserves to be here and he’s just getting better and it’s just great kid. Works his butt off and that’s that’s Wallow.
