OKC Thunder vs Philadelphia 76ers | Highlights | Salt Lake City Summer League | July 7, 2025

[Music] Barnheiser played at Northwestern second round just a couple of weeks back inside top of the rim. OKC’s on the board with Sissoko. First time he’s been on the floor since that ACL tear back in January of 2024. Got to use him. Overtime. If we go there two minutes, second one is sudden death. [Applause] Thunder. Good ball movement on the perimeter. Go to the corner for a triple. It’s up and it’s in. Nice shot. Young Bloodood patient delivered four dimes in his debut against Memphis on Saturday night. There’s another hand to the rim. Fouled over the back and little drive inside. Nicely done. Missed by left hand of Edwards. Nice pick. So, I’m pretty sure that was the message. Message delivered. Gortman on the court. Topic. Nice feed inside. A little touch bucket. Oh, we look at Topic right here. Drives men back and M has obviously no chance. [Music] Beautiful pass inside. Great execution. Just not able to finish on that play. Oh, there’s a nice steal. Toich has all that skill. One reason why they took him 12th in the 24 draft. Tough shot. Counted inside. Good patience. Sissoko found his way to UC Berkeley. That’s wicked. Beautiful crossover. Stop and pop. It’s up. It’s good by Jason Gortman against Memphis on Saturday. Back comes the Thunder. Well, the three’s not falling so far. A combined five of 18 between the Sixers and the Thunder. There’s a drive and a bucket. Nicely done down the baseline. Using on the pick, but Jai Broom was open the last time down on that dive. Didn’t get it. Philadelphia struggled early 0 for8 and they made two in a row. There’s a turnover. Nice job Austin on a drive inside. Flies it off the glass. Philly coming the other way. Off his hand. That’s Slawson to beautiful pass. That’s what you call a little bang bang play and a beautiful feed on top of the rim. Up to him. He’s not hurried. makes those decisions on the fly. Big got his first points in this quarter, but he’s a pass first guy and he’s great on the other side of the ball. See what he does here. Another Philadelphia turnover. Topic on a drive inside after the two free throws. Puts that ball in a perfect place on the lob who have used them all. But we’ll see what happens. Philly has turned the ball over now for their last five possessions. Patience Bowl to the second quarter. Look at this patience. Dribbling in traffic. Sees an opportunity and seizes it. Corner three. Jumps off the rim. Sissoko gave it a run. That ball just simply out of the hand. Turned it over. Justin Edwards. Actually, Topic caused that ball. He didn’t hit it, but he used his body to kind of jar that ball away. Leon splashes down a three. Mince working behind the screen of Bona back out front. Good ball movement. Little jab step again. Two defenders trying to fill up that lane. And Philadelphia now two of 12 here in quarter number three out front. Young Blood catch and shoot triple. Look good. Is good. That might have been the best play we’ve seen. Look at this last bucket right here. Nice drive. Nice kick. One more pass. Turn a good look into a better one with Slawson. Salace. Good defense by the Thunder. There’s a steal. They’re coming the other way. Fast and Furious with Austin and he slams down two. Austin on the break takes it on top of the rim. OKC with a seven-point lead on Philadelphia. Butino in the paint, drives, throws it away. Turnover. Thunder. Topic runs the floor. This should be the easiest plucking of this game as Zack Austin fifth three made. Five of 16 for Philadelphia. Gortman turned around. Jumper rolls home. You’re fortunate enough to find some space early outside. You’ve got to mix it up to get some of those outside looks. Ball pressure at midcourt. Mitchell able to break it down low. Sissoko beyond the zone right here. It’s like 3-2. Gorman on a drive inside. Kim and in Oklahoma City finds a little space and goes under and up. 16 points. He rebounds a block shot and he’s been stifled. Yeah, he has. And a lot of it is not necessarily his fault. He hasn’t had a lot of opportunities. Young blood kicks the two bigs and then the dime on the right side. Got to see more of that. AJ Mitchell whistled for the foul. Now he loss a pass down low. Barnheiser rhythm pass. You better be ready to shoot it. Oklahoma City shot 28% the first 29 minutes of this game. There’s a following one. They’ve now gone seven of their last eight court. It’s great timing. Portman goes in. You see Mitchell come right [Music] Gortman. Beautiful stroke. Nice play. Good pressure to his left. Gortman. Tough shot. Left hand off the glass right to left and a swinging shot just off the window. How to score here. Love it. Just through the hands of Bona. Here’s Tovich. Young blood. Corner three. Beautifully calm. [Music] Bob it up. Put it down. Right on top of the rim. Stolen for a moment. Picked up back court. Now Gortman has it. Spins. Tries to go to the rack. Now kicks. Got the shot away. Got it. What a way to put a period on it. Corner. Corner three. Cameron Brown. And let’s go courtside. Here’s Lauren Green. Thanks, Bowler. AJ, 16 points, five assists, five rebounds. What did you like about your overall game play tonight? Uh, I think just competing. Uh, competing with my teammates and trying to give the best every time I’m on the floor. Uh, so that’s the main focus and just try to get better. This is something, you know, the Thunder’s identity, you know, defense, that’s your guys’ bread and butter from this roster all the way up to the championship roster. You forced 21 turnovers. How important was that tonight? Uh, really important. I mean, we put a a big emphasis on that uh throughout the whole training camp and in every game we’re trying to get better on defense and be a team defense. So, that’s what we do. One more summer league game here in Salt Lake City. What have you liked about the first two uh days for your team? Uh, I think just be getting better with growing through experience and just learning from everything. Uh, and it’s always it’s fun to play uh summer league, so we’re we’re really excited to be out here. AJ, congrats. Thank you. Thank you. Oh.

  1. Through 2 games, Gortman has really stood out. Buttery smooth shot. Handles galore and can get his own shot. It appears that Brandon Carlson may be slow playing his 2 way offer. May be some interest from other teams. Right now, 2 ways go to Barnhizer, Gortman, and Carlson/Ducas? Ducas may have to fend off Youngblood.

  2. Let’s go thunder!!! Ajay and Topic will be amazing. I know it’s just a summer league game but still cool to get a dub. Still can’t believe we are the champions.

  3. The way Topic plays, you can see how well he studied the team this season. We kinda did expect him to be good in drives and passing, but those deflections are just pure OKC defense.
