“[I Learn Something] Every Practice” | Joan Beringer Summer League Sound | 07.07.25
So, what’s it been like getting adjusted to your new teammates and getting ready for summer league? Uh, it’s a very cool feeling to be here in Minneapolis and yeah, I’m very excited to play in summer league. What What’s the biggest thing you’re trying to accomplish um in these next two weeks, both your time here and then when you guys get to Vegas? Like, what what in your mind are you trying to prove or show or just get done? just to every practice to to give my energy, you know, to to learn about the about the player, about the the system, the team to be better every day. Do you feel yourself learning a lot each day, even here, just in a couple days? Yeah, every practice. What’s one thing about this system that stood out to you thus far? Uh, can you say again? What’s one thing that stood out about the Timberwolves system that stood out to you thus far? like defensively, the energy, the coaching, you know, getting on whatever. Um, I think defensively, yeah. Why defensively? What What is it like? What’s been the transition like going from where you play to? Um, like everything it’s it’s like faster. Like everything is fast. uh you need to to have a good reaction like like I said everything is fast and also but also in in offense I think you know in every every part of the game is different it’s faster and yeah just I need to to adapt my game of of this what’s it been like playing with Rob Dillingham he was talked about you yesterday and said he was excited with what he’s seen from your play what’s it been like for you playing with him yeah it’s amazing because I when he played not you know I watched him a lot and yeah it’s to be here with a lot of also a great player it’s you know it’s amazing with the the two of you it seem like in these games in summer league that you know pick and roll and the two of you playing together you know we’ll we’ll get a lot of opportunities um are you what are you looking forward about developing chemistry with him and playing specifically in with with Rob uh yeah to to help him with my with my pick and just roll strong and yet to have this good good shape with him, you know. Who’s kind of impressed you the most playing with out there in practice? Uh for me, every every every player like how like impressive, you know, and Honestly, every every player there are really impressive and this is Yeah, this is great to play with with them. Have you noticed kind of a big difference from the Slovenian league even to just practices in the summer league? Yeah. Yeah. Uh now the practice is like it’s really more intense. uh a lot of like the intensity is totally different and also um how how the the everything is faster. What have the what have the coaches asked you to focus on in summer league? to do my role, you know, like uh run uh take the lob every to be present in defense and to to you know to improve to keep improve improve and that’s it. What’s one piece of advice Rudy Goar gave you about summer league? Oh, sorry. What’s one piece of advice Rudy Goar gave you about summer league? Rudy Goar, did he give you any advice about be summer? No. Have you talked to Have you talked to Rudy much? Uh, just one time after after my draft. What’s the difference between your personality and Rockos? Because he seems kind of goofy, fun, very emotional. How what’s the difference between the two personalities yours than he is? Uh, are you more serious than his silliness? I don’t know if I’m more serious or not, but just I I can say we have a very good relation. the what just as a protecting the rim here with some of these athletes like you know like if if Terrence Shannon is coming at you like is there things you have to what’s the adjustment been like trying to stop like that kind of guy coming full speed you like their clips of you just being a great rim protector. Do you have to do it any differently like with guys big fast strong like that kind of learn that? just to you know to keep do I do every day to to be present in defense you know if he he comes to to jump I I will jump and that’s it you know just to yeah to jump with the talked about like your picks and the pick and roll not having played basketball that long what have you learned about screens and how to be the most effective screener you can be like what what have you found to be the biggest keys with screening that that’s makes for a good I think my angle of pick and roll like how how my angle is uh today we we practice a lot about this and yeah also to to run faster like to roll faster. Oh so they have not to wait for you basically. Barono is the most patient and but yeah just to you know to yeah to be um focus on on these things. You know last year when rookies got drafted they mentioned Mike Connley reaching out to them to kind of guide them a little bit through the process. Has anyone on the Wolves like the main roster reached out to you since you’ve been in town here to kind of help you get settled in? Uh, certification. Has anyone from the main Wolves roster reached out to help you get settled into Minneapolis? Not really. Okay. What do you like about the city so far? Uh, how are you say? What What do you What have you learned or what do you like about the city so far? Yeah, the city is very good, very cool. It’s quiet. Uh, you know, I I the first time I I’ve been USA, it was in Brooklyn. Totally different. Yeah. Yeah. Different speed. Yeah. I prefer much here because it’s for me it’s easier you know the people are very very very cool and you’re from the Elsa Lorraine area you’re Elsas Lorraine area you’re from that area Strawburg yeah is basketball popular I mean popular there is a big deal yes uh it’s like in this area in France a lot of team of basketball a lot of basketball in general Yeah, it’s like this this uh this area in France, it’s a lot of a lot of basketball. A lot of people following you on social media back home. Yeah, also. Yeah.

Joan Beringer steal of the NBA draft
how annoying is it going to be having to answer these stupid questions about what Rudy has told him, and how often they have talked etc. Yes, we get it, they are both from France.
Joan is going to be a good Center during the summer league.
Dude learned English in the last 9 months. I feel for him.
why can't these people ask better questions??
Bro only learned english for 7, 9 months?! 😮 wow…..
, the reporters are dumb.Their questions are stupid and hard for people that even understand english. All the way so hats off to the kid for keeping his cool
I miss when Americans played in the league, the only reason I fw this team is bc of Antman
Some of these questions… SMH
Cannot wait to watch Joan play in Summer League.
it’s too fast in summer league?, hopefully we see him play by next year, that size and speed with good coaching, he’s got a good chance
Him trying to understand English cracks me up
Poor guy. What a bunch of idiot reporters not to recognize he's struggling with a new language. Brain dead
Imagine barely knowing English and being asked the stupidest questions…I’m fluent and I don’t even know how I would answer that dumb stuff… “what’s the difference between your personality and Rocco’s goofy personality?”
👏👏👏👏
